Tania stared out the blue-tinted window of the small space pod she was sitting in with wide eyes, looking around excitedly at the launch pad of the BBA’s Site A. Another metal pod similar to the one she was in was sitting just across the way from hers. Inside that one sat Charlene. The pint sized android could just barely make out the outline of her face in the other window, but could tell that the other kid was either nervous or just as excited as Tania was to be going on this trip. A number of grownups were scurrying about the launch pad in a frenzy as they tried to make sure everything was set up just right. Porsalynne was among them, though she was more occupied with directing everyone else and keeping an eye on the pods with the two children in them. Tania didn’t completely get the situation that she was in right now. A lot of the details went over her head. She got the important bits though.
Important Bit #1: The guy that use to be in charge of the Blue Banner Army went crazy and was now doing a bunch of bad stuff.
It was really too bad. The small girl never actually got to meet him in person. Some called him Vi-Poi; others called him Administrator Azure. Whatever he called himself, he seemed like he might have been a cool guy since had an interest in magic and ran the place she had been having so much fun in. Unfortunately, that was out of the question with whatever happened to him. Tania didn’t know specifics of what he was doing, but she definitely knew it was no good by the recent atmosphere of Site A alone.
Important Bit #2: Cipher 24 had been sent to another planet a while before their leader went nuts
The pale android with the funny green eyes had been one of the first members of the BBA Tania had been introduced to. She had been told that he had a really important position in the organization that she had just recently become a part of. A lot of people looked up to and respected him. The girl didn’t know why he was sent off world in the first place, but she was positive that whatever it was was super important. It wasn’t just because of his position either. It was also because...
Important Bit #3: Tania and Charlene were going to go help Cipher 24 with whatever his mission was.
Porsalynne hadn’t really been specific on exactly what the two children would be helping Cipher 24 with, just that they would be going to some place called ‘Vegeta’ and to watch out for a bunch of people known as ‘Saiyans’. They were to find him as soon as possible and stay close to him. The girls were also in charge of making sure that the android knew what was going on with his boss. Tania had never been to another planet before, but she was already feeling giddy at the thought of another place to explore and have adventures on. Hopefully she would have a chance to look around and have some fun without being too busy with whatever she was supposed to be helping out with.
The countdown had started. Sirens began to blare as the ceiling over everyone began to slide away. Tania looked back to Porsalynne to see the woman waving at the both of them. There was a soft smile on her face, but something about her expression seemed... sad? Troubled? Worried? Tania wasn’t really sure what was wrong with her. After all, this was a super important mission that she was sending the both of them on.
The entire pod was rumbling as it was about to be launched into the sky, as well as into the inky abyss that lay beyond. She caught a glance at Charlene’s pod to see that the blonde haired girl was giving her a grin and a wave. Tania retuned the gestures excitedly before sitting back and making sure she was buckled in tight.
This was it! The engines of the space pods were blasting at their maximum power as the metal spheres lifted off the ground. They shot straight up through the air, batting gravity aside seemingly effortlessly as they sailed into the clouds and right out of the Earth’s atmosphere. It was a good thing that Tania was no fraidy-cat. It was far too late to turn back now. The two girls were well on their way to the planet of Vegeta.
Tania found herself staring out at the stars and the blue planet she called home as it gradually shrunk in size. They were in store for a long trip. She guessed that it was time for a nap. The small girl fiddled with the patch of skin on the base of her hairline at the back of her neck. A small hatch door popped open in her synthetic skin, revealing panel with a few sockets embedded in it. There was also a pronged plug that appeared to fit into any standard electrical socket found on Earth. Tania gently tugged it free from the panel, a slender black cord running from it to the back of her head. She plugged herself into the small pod via an open socket near the control panel. The girl immediately started to feel drowsy. ”Hibernation mode activated,” Tania murmured with a yawn before drifting to sleep. The android child would not awaken from her slumber until her destination was reached.

”4... 3... 2... 1... Lift off!”
