((Heavy Weights Enabled. #2 in new storyline thread))
“This is the third time that you’ve somehow gotten a hold of me through my scouter; enough is enough, damn it!” Yelling at a voice on the other end of the machine on her face, Zerori was thoroughly fed up with the constant harassment from the hacker she’d contacted through her Capsule Corporation fiasco. The entire memory left a bad taste in her mouth and though she performed a successful job, her pride stung from the sacrifice. Her business was literally held up to the standard of a ‘Mom and Pop’ Store at best, and at worst – an investment a child wouldn’t take part of.
”I need someone on the inside and you can do it!” The voice yelled on the other side, unknowing that Zerori had already taken off her scouter and held it off to the side as he nearly blew the headset out of the earpiece. ”You gotta help me!”
“Tch,” She dead-panned, not having any of it, “I ain’t gotta do shit, motherfucker…” She muttered, walking along the streets. Before her was South City, majestic as it was – made more so by the destruction of the Western Capital – seemed to bustle with as much life as the city Zerori has visited further east. The only difference was that South City eclipsed everything East was and more. The hospitals she had spent time in were satisfactory and had the means to care for most injuries to those who were hurt.
Here, however, if you lost an arm or a leg, there was a massive advancement in technology that could provide you with a new one if you needed it – funds willing, of course. Everything about this city seemed to scream Zerori’s style; A high-class of upper-echelon hob-snobbers that just itched to have their coffers stolen, a smudged underbelly that was exactly what the saiyaness was looking for to kick-start her business.
Everything except one thing.
The voice on the other side of the scouter seemed to have stopped speaking, maybe disconnected when he didn’t hear Zerori yell back at him. When she brought the scouter back to her ear in curiosity, the sound of typing could be heard. Suddenly, a loud ‘tap’ followed by a chuckle made her scrunched her face in consternation.
“What are you doing?” She tentatively asked and was responded to with a soft ‘Hm?’ before he spoke.
“Don’t you mean, ‘What have I done?’ – You’ll receive an E-Bao in about one-” When a soft chime sounded in Zerori’s ear and an icon with a letter flashed over her lens, she frowned.
“What is this?”
“It starts at Seven O’ Clock, Red.”
“I’m not going!”
“Don’t be late!”
“Damn it, you son of a bitch!” She yelled, attracting the attention of some passerby around her before she calmed herself enough to fume softly. As she did so, her eyes scanned the letter she’d received. The moment her brain recognized the words ‘Party’, ‘Capsule Corp’ and ‘Invitation Only’, made her instantly want to delete the e-Bao and be on her way. However, she stopped at the word ‘Dinner’ and ‘Provided’. She’d been hacked the invitation to a dinner party held by one of the most powerful corporations on the planet and she only cared about getting something interesting to eat out of the deal.
“I must be getting tired, or something… wait a minute, what?” She read the line once, twice, and then a third time. “D-D…D-D….”
Dancing.
