He was happy to be out of the chilled wilderness and that safe house he'd been taking refuge in. It was to say the least a open change of pace. Glad he'd kept himself off of loud acts of less moral behavior during that last job. It would have been rather unpleasant if any form of law wished to run him down. Especially here on Arcose. He wore little then the simple black saiyan style body suit his blue tail wrapping neatly around his waist. It did fair enough at covering his body from head to toe away from the elements. The white boots and gloves were a fair bit of flare to the style as well. Although he wished he had a bit of armor as to not look so revealingly unprepared for battle.
From Inn to Inn tavern to tavern he'd wear his feet sore and back aching as time went on. It wasn't always easy finding connections willing to stick their necks out for you. As well even more so when it was clear something hadn't had gone as planned prior. Didn't set up the most secure feeling in the air for them to help. The most current place he'd kicked up little aid was a dark lit pub near the edge of the border. A thick chill still hitting ya hard if ya waited outside. Although it may have explained why the inside patrons didn't look to rich or dignified types. Criminals vagrants and vagabonds, But hey that's the best kind of people for this type of thing.
The spirits were a mix of high and low with light singing and banter carrying on in the air. A mixture of information, smoke, and the smell of piss poor ale. Or so he'd think to himself sipping away at the ale given it was all he could afford momentarily. The goal was to hopefully pick up on some information on a pod at a affordable price. Anything would do since he hadn't any other option. Even though he knew he'd likely be picking at stolen wears.
It would be perhaps a rather stale evening his eye only catching a few people of interest when it wasn't distracted by the vision of a couple arcosian women who'd stopped by for a drink. Considering trying to acquire their company although there was no time for that sorta thing. There was time however to see a rather familiar face. One so that made him squeeze on the steel mug make a clunking sound as his hand squeezed tightly denting his fingers into it. The pale yellow fluid within splashing out a bit from the sudden crushing of its metal holding.
Carefully as a cat slipping from its seat Jarvis would leave the drink and work his way across the floor passing various folks to the man that caught his eye. A fellow Brenchian he'd used as a contact on this planet once or twice. The very same who'd pointed him to the crew that was supposed to be his way off this world. He had only contacts in this system so he knew them well what few they were. The man was talking to a woman of shorter height and impressive looks. A little impressed to say the leaset. But the Brenchian would find himself quickly strong armed a powerful arm throwing around his shoulders and the back of his neck leading him off somewhere else in the distance. "Sorry Lass, I need to have a word with my mate here. I'll try and return him in one piece if ya plan to wait awhile." He'd say giving the woman a wink and raising his blue eyes and brows as he guided the man away. The Brenchian gulping realizing who'd grabbed him. He'd already gotten word from the smuggling team and had a good idea what this wasn't gonna be good.
"Listen Blehbarry, I don't know what your after but its not my fault. You know what you did I set up a good thing for you!" He'd listen to the man protest as he shoved him silently but roughly into a booth at the corner of the dimly lit up pub. Sitting down across from him smirking shaking his head. So it was he who had been the bad partner. Oh well no use crying over spilled milk. "Well about that, Part of our deal was I'd end up on another system with opportunity. Sure sure I messed up the first bit but our second part has yet to be fulfilled. So you still owe me.... Or do you really want to argue with me over it?" Tapping his fingers against the hard wood table. A rat tat sound in rhythm as he stared down the red Brenchian. Hoping to get this settled quickly.
The man would sigh feeling a little cheated but it'd be bad to start a ruckus today. It'd likely end in both of them in shackles and allot of trouble if not worse. He'd hold up hand as if to signify Jarvis to calm. Before speaking up with a proposal. He really didn't want to agitate him further. Jarvis was only half saiyan but he still had a temper and the Brenchian hoped to keep it at bay."I don't agree with that. But I know that doesn't matter likely to you. So here's what I can do." Taking in a breath. Jarvis just staring raising a brow as if waiting. Expecting some pleasing news he'd hoped.
"A pod is the best I can do. I got one a day or two or ago and its useless to me. Its not as nice as a cabin and a bed in a smuggling ship but it will have to do. I didn't make you do what you did. So this should more then fair!" Ending with a rather strong aggravated tune. Ending with under his breath. "Damn monkey..." If they weren't hidden in darkness in the corner more eyes would have looked as Jarvis proceeded to jerk his hands outwards. White glove gripping the mans chest plate and yanking the Brenchian over the table and his face a few inches from Jarvis's eyes. Narrowing blue hues looking rather aggravated. Most of it a act of course Jarvis preferred less confrontation but he couldn't make it look like he could be taken lightly in deals like this. Appearance is everything lads.
"I may have had a little mishap but don't think you can go smirking off shit like that to me. Besides boy I'm half Brenchian so keep that monkey talk to yourself. Insult me your partially insulting your own race!" Shoving the man back against his seat. The red Brenchian landing with a oomph. A aggravated face and angry face though would be the only offense he'd offer. "Grrr, You really are hard to work with. Fine whatever, Just meet me at the last meeting place in a half hour. I'll have it set up." Rising out of his seat and quickly shuffling off giving Jarvis little time to say anything. The Brenchians pride a little wounded but he still turned and said. "Oh and Jarvis." The blue haired boy raising a brow. "Yea?"
"This is the last time we do business. Do this to me again and I'll find a way to leak enough information to get you in a cell... or worse." Ending in a snort before he stomped off. Across the floor and out the door. Jarvis couldn't help but chuckle letting that grin curve up his lip like a snake. That fit him just fine it wasn't like he planned to come running back to this planet anytime soon. He'd give a little time before parting himself. He had a half hour to kill anyway.
Time sped by slowly when you had nothing but your lonesome and ale to keep you company but when the time came he did find himself back to the holdout. True to his word there was his contact and a pod. Well if you could call it that given its rather old model and disrepair. He smiled a nervous grin as if to make sure if he should believe what he was seeing before pointing at the decrepit thing and shouting rather loudly towards the Brenchian. "The hell is this! Will that thing even survive take off? I mean can it even land without blowing up?...." He didn't even recognize the marking numbers and serial numbers on the inner section of the door. It was a antique at best. A rather unimpressed and worried expression. Considering this thing would keep him alive during interstellar travel it was a rather big deal after all.
"Hey you asked for something. This is what I got and I'm likely not gonna get anything else for awhile. You can either take it or walk. I held up my end its yours. Do with it as you please..." He'd say making his way to leave. He'd presented the goods in a fair meeting. The safe house gave decent space and time to look it over before moving or using it. "H-hey. Common buddy..." Met with only silence and a slamming door.
White gloves covered his face as a groan like exhale cry pushed muffled from his lips. Taking a moment or two to cool off and keep from chasing down his old contact and taking a few teeth on top of the pod as payment. But that wouldn't do anyone any good so he quickly shook the thought. Instead he'd try and make the best of it. The best of a bad situation. After throwing himself in the pods pilot seat and clicking around the various monitors after the dust settled. He'd feel a little less worried at least on terms of navigation. The life support seemed to function as well as the nav-computer. It could at least in theory get him where he needed to go. But the metal covering and heat protection for breaking through a planets atmosphere was exceptionally dull. IT was likely this was going to be a one way trip so wherever he went he'd have to hope for work and fast.
It was going to have to do there really wasn't much choice in the matter. He didn't have many options or resources to pull into. He was out of options and in truth this was a lucky grab at straws. A miracle he even got this pod. He grunt as he began picking through his options. The screen flickering a bit and requiring a careful and calculated whack to its side. He'd raise a bit of a blue brow when something caught his eye. "Heh... Earth. That shouldn't be so bad." Picking a destination. Hoping this time he'd find something worth while and nothing hectic would yank him back to Arcose again anytime soon.
