It all begun on a peaceful morning somewhere late in the spring season, with a pleasant breeze lingering over the area the specific part of the Western Frontiers where this story took place at was clearly abuzz with plenty of liveliness. The floating island of Avalon, while currently not yet actually floating was still starting to shape up into becoming something akin to the dream its creators had. The commercial and entertainment district had been finished, causing a fair boost in visitors to the island. Some even were willing to stay and help out with the construction works after hearing the intended purpose of the island. It seemed there were a fair share of people who desired a paradise to live in, and most were even willing to follow the rules associated with the island. Nevertheless, as she stood amidst the outskirts of the district Hikari couldn't help but smile gently at the scene that was unfolding before her. A little girl was running amidst the trees, her arms swaying back and forth beside her as she seemed to had been chasing a squirrel, it was curious how the critter had found his way onto the island, but she heard that it was a part of the effort to make the island feel more 'inhabited' by more than just people.
Squirrels, bunnies, birds, so many different harmless little animals had been released on the island, and yet little did the hybrid know that on this particular day they would have met a rather unusual new resident of the island. The hybrid had just turned sideways, looking at the female Saiyan who had accompanied them. It seemed Kaula had decided to follow the suggestion to stick around, whether it was because of her desire to tap into the power known as the Super Saiyan form, or her fondness for the child they were watching, it didn't matter at this point.
"It's actually both sad and pleasant to see her like this."
Hikari had finally spoken, and while her lips were curved up into a smile there was also a hint of sadness in her eyes, and also a certain longing. She paused for a moment before turning to look at Kaula, the girl wanted to become a Super Saiyan, but did she understand the risks that this might involve? For a moment she paused, considering her next choice of words before she resumed speaking.
"Reikiko ended up like this as a result of having too much power. It was a power too strong and dark for even a semi-perfect bio-android to contain and control. While I obviously desire to see her return to normal someday, I can't help but wonder whether we'd be able to see something like this again if she recovers."
She gestured lightly with a hand to the spectacle before them. Reikiko had just left the collection of trees before she made a long turn and started dashing toward Kaula. The little girl's arms were spread lightly, and it took no genius to realize what was about to happen next. The girl reached Kaula and attempted to wrap her arms around the woman's mid-section, in the hope of giving her an affectionate hug and after a few moments finally release a hold of her, stepping backwards and while the same trademark innocent smile lingered on the child's lips, a smile so pure it might had been one only shown by an angel, she started gesturing toward the trees.
"It seems she wants you to accompany her Kaula. Perhaps she has something to show you? Maybe even a secret that could become a tremendous benefit to you someday."
Of course she spoke in jest, evident as she chuckled lightly and waited to see what Kaula would do. Obviously she would end up accompanying Reikiko, and the female Saiyan should she desire to join them. Then again, was she truly going to be able to refuse such an adorable attempt at convincing her to tag along?
"Is there something you want to show us Reikiko?"
The child nodded her head repeatedly, making a cheerful wave with her arms in response before suddenly lifting her hands toward her head, and keeping them slightly above them she allowed her fingers to curl up to show what might had been a pair of cat-ears.
"... You're saying you want to be a kitten?"
Hikari couldn't help but blink in confusion, when Reikiko shook her head repeatedly, her cheeks puffing up into a little pout before she pointed a finger at Kaula and repeated the same cat-ears gesture from before.
"But Kaula doesn't have cat ears.."
This was getting ridiculously confusing... In the end after a moment of consideration the girl pointed at Kaula, then turned her gesture at Hikari before pointing at the trees. Could it have been that Reikiko had found a kitten hiding in the forest? That sounded rather weird, in the end the island staff hadn't reported anything about cats or dogs being imported onto the island, then could this possibly mean the kitten had accidently snuck onboard with a supply shuttle or something?
"Oh! There is a kitten over there? I guess we could go and look with you."
The child nodded her head firmly, happily clapping her hands together to express her delight at having finally been understood before she tried to gently grasp both women their hands and lead them toward the forest. The kitten must had been nearby, but for a moment she couldn't help but wonder...
"Kaula, you do know what a cat is... right? They are adorable little feline animals that humans often keep as pets. They and their canine rivals known as dogs are some of the most popular pets on our planet. Still, I got no idea how a cat would have found their way onto the island."
If only she had known ahead of time that the surprise Reikiko had in store for them... Would end up being much greater than what the two of them might had expected.

[Heavy Weights on!] Kaula paused as she looked up to the sky, taking in a deep breath. She had been staying at the whole island, even if there actually wasn't a place for her to stay; she'd have actually ended up sleeping underneath one of the trees, since it seemed to be such a safe place. Kaula rubbed at one of her eyes slowly, having ditched wearing the shades when she was around Reikiko and her caretaker. She simply felt.. More confident around the two of them. She had also come to like some of the shops here. There were so many, though she wasn't so happy about some of the shops carrying magazines.. Or more specifically, the one she's featured in.. But it's not like anyone here would find that out.. And there was that fast food restaurant where there were cheap AND fast. Like they got those burgers out in seconds. The Saiyan almost wanted to drool at the thought of it.
Alas, the Saiyan was pulled from her thoughts when she had heard some birds. Annoying thing. All high-pitched. Annoying. But, she had to hand it to the people.. It did tie the whole place together. Granted, she was a bit disappointed there wasn't anything bigger to hunt. Her emerald eyes eventually glanced back towards the child who was running around, a smile slowly appearing on her face. That kid.. She was something special.
"Huh-" she paused to look to the caretaker for a moment, "I.. Guess it's kinda more pleasant for me.. Since I didn't know her before she split." the Saiyan responded with a shrug.
The Saiyan stared at Hikari, still smiling. This was probably one of the first times Kuala was actually seen smiling by the caretaker. Still, she was arrogant. Stupid. Sometimes even careless. She didn't understand the responsibility yet. She was was crude and still thought of power as a way of getting things she wanted. But she could still change, likely. She had time to learn.
"I kind think it's lucky I never really knew her before.." she paused and motioned to the child. "She's.. I don't know the word for it.. But I don't think I'd be able to fully.. I don't know.." she said, getting all mixed up in weird feelings she didn't understand, "Well.. She's a child. I can protect her when she's like this.." she said as she tugged at her weighted vest some. Stupid weak feelings.. She should probably be training right now.
Kaula let out a quiet 'oof' as she got the unexpected hug, having been talking with the other half-Saiyan the whole time. She smiled a bit and went to wrap her own arms around the girl for a few brief moments. She sighed when the girl stepped back and gave her that smile. It seemed like just a few days ago, she was only standing there, staring ahead. It seemed to Kaula, that the girl was getting better every day. Wait.. Now she wanted her.. To follow her..?
The hybrid looked towards Hikari and just shrugged in response, "I-.. Well.. Let's see what this secret is then." she said with a chuckle. She wouldn't lie, Kaula was extremely curious. And, of course, she was a prisoner to that cuteness.. No way she could resist the girl when she was like that, so of course she'd tag along.
The Saiyan was smiling as she listened to Hikari ask. Was the girl going to talk to te-.. Wait.. What was she doing with her hands...? She was trying to show something..
Cat-ears.. Wait.. Wait. Maybe there was just a cat here, No way that Reikiko saw her in the magazine..
Oh.. Now she was pointing at Kaula. It was almost certain that Reikiko had seen the magazine. But how! She was just a child! Who lets a CHILD read stuff like that!? "Heh heh heh.. Y-yeah.. I-.. No cat-ears on my head, of course.." she'd state awkwardly as she stuck her hands on her hips. Her tail was still dyed black, it seemed, and was currently swaying behind her, "Yep. N-no cat-ears. And there's certainly no pictures of me wearing any." she paused after she spoke, realizing how awkward that sounded. There was only one way to fix this situation. She had to laugh. And what came out? One of the most awkward-sounding fake laughs ever. "AHahahaha.. Y-.. AHa.. Yeah.." Oh. She had.. Found a kitten apparently. Well.. Okay. She could deal with this. Her hand was grabbed and she simply let herself get yanked and dragged along into the forest, still blushing at her stupid little outburst. Damn it, how could she have been so stupid. Of course Rei hadn't seen the pictures. She was a child.
"Hm..? Oh.. I-.. Yeah. I do. I've seen some more.. Always been more found of them then other creatures on this planet." she said with a slow nod.

It seemed the sudden outburst of Kaula had caused Hikari to chuckle lightly, feeling both confused and amused by the young lady her flustered reaction to Reikiko's gesture. Of course she had little time to question the reason behind Kaula's reaction, for the two of them were swiftly pulled along toward the forest. Several moments later, as they crossed through the trees and bushes that had surrounded the large path leading toward the central area of the island they finally arrived at the small clearing where Reikiko had tried to show them. It seemed an ordinary place, some trees, a little pond and... in the shade of a nearby tree the 'thing' Reikiko wanted to show them had been found. While it was partly concealed, the moment the two of them would have followed the child they would have been in for a surprise. While certainly it seemed that Reikiko had found a kitten, the kitten itself was a little bit of a special feline. Almost larger than the child herself the 'kitten' had a pure snow-white fur with black stripes, and its claws were sharp enough to tear through a tree with ease. There was even its maw, large fangs showing in its mouth, a mouth that had opened to let out a lazy yawn.
"T-That's not a kitten..."
Hikari watched in a mixture of awe and dread as Reikiko cheerfully approached the kitten, and now upon a closer look there seemed to be a magazine on its head, perhaps something that was left behind by someone? The child approached the kitten with little to no hesitation, climbing onto its back, a gesture that made the kitten let out a soft 'mrowr' while rising upwards, standing onto its paws while the child picked the magazine from its head and opened it, as if she was reading some sort of manga.
"That's a freaking tiger!"
How the heck did that thing even get onto the island?! Shaking her head in disbelief Hikari found herself rather surprised by how docile the tiger seemed to be. Tigers, especially the breed that this one was from were usually rather dangerous, one of the finest predators in the animal world. Could it be that Reikiko's presence had been responsible for calming it down? The child patted the tiger's head lightly, making it lean forwards and slowly stretch its body while the child briefly dropped the magazine onto her lap.
"..."
Once more the child raised her hands to her head, making the curled fingers to show the kitty ears look, before pointing at the tiger beneath her. Did Reikiko assume that this tiger was a cat or something? Not to mention why was that child even being given a piggyback ride by a giant tiger! This situation was starting to make less sense than before! Yet as she looked at the tiger Hikari couldn't help but notice the fact the tiger seemed... weakened? It's fur was slightly stained in dirt, and it looked as if it had been starving for a while already.
"That's not a big kitty Reikiko, that's a tiger."
Could it be the girl was trying to convince her to help her take care of the feline? That seemed like a rather daunting task. How in the world would she be able to convince Vipoi and Scargot to allow something like a huge tiger to be around Reikiko?! A moment of silence passed before Reikiko made the same gesture and pointed at Kaula, causing Hikari to shake her head lightly in response.
"Kaula is a Saiyajin Reikiko, not a kitten."
As Hikari's explanation Reikiko seemed to pout lightly, turning her gaze back to look at the magazine she had been holding, before staring intensely at Kaula, a gesture she repeated several times before at long last she leaned forwards and turned the magazine around.
Inter Galactic Girls Paradise: Nyan Edition Fear the catgirl Saiyajin, for she will first conquer your hearts and then your world.
And of course, just like Kaula had feared there was a rather large picture of her in a scantily clad outfit with a pair of cat-girl ears on her head. Hikari's eyes had widened for a moment, her eyes shifting from the magazine back to the Saiyan before she sighed softly.
"You're going to have to explain this 'cat girl', else Reikiko is going to assume your ears are secretly hiding themselves amidst your hair."
Still it made her recall something, a rather unpleasant memory of sorts. After raising her hands to pull the Magazine out of Reikiko's hands, folding it up and lightly whapping the child's head, causing Reikiko to briefly squirm and cover her head for further retaliation.
"You shouldn't read such things Reikiko! They are for bored and lonely adults. And gods know I should have blown up their publisher after they forced me to join them for a Blue Banner Army edition..."
Mumbling the last bit in annoyance she stashed the magazine away and looked at Kaula. Hopefully the girl was going to not get too embarrassed at the revelation, but Reikiko did seem to be looking at her with those eyes that practically begged to see the Saiyan make a cat girl pose, perhaps even accompanied with a little 'nya'.
"Either way, perhaps we should take your 'kitten' somewhere else Reikiko. It seems tired and hungry, so maybe we can take care of it. Just... don't make it go out of control! It seems you're the only one who is here that can prevent that tiger from causing a bloodbath."
At her acceptance Reikiko happily bumped a hand into the air, a V-shaped sign being made with her fingers while the tiger yawned softly. Hikari at the other hand raised a hand to her forehead and sighed deeply. How the hell did it come to this? She knew that the old Reikiko was pretty much a magnet for silliness, but this was sort of taking the whole act a little bit too far.

Poor Kaula was still blushing after her little incident. She didn't really seem to care whether or not there was a kitten.. The poor Saiyan was just embarrassed by the whole ordeal. However, when they had finally saw the "kitten", Kaula's jaw went to drop. Dang thing was HUUUUGE. Well, it was a lot larger then all the cat's she's seen.. By like.. 10 times their size. That, was a terrifying thing to behold.
"Yeah.. Uhh.. Definitely not a kitten.." she said, agreeing with Hikari.
Kaula actually went to take a few steps forward, clearly not wanting Reikiko to get close to the monster cat.. But still, she kept moving. Kaula bit her lip, watching with dread as she approached it then got on TOP of it. The thing seemed to listen to her.. Kaula was surprised. Shocked, silent afterwards. Amazed. She didn't know how to feel about this! But she did have to admit, it was a pretty cat.
"Looks more like a death machine to me.." Kaula muttered. ".. I want one now.."
Wait.. Kaula paused as she noticed the magazine. What was that magazine she had. Could it be...? Naaah.. It couldn't.. But.. Could it..? The Saiyan eventually went to shake her head. No, no. It was impossible. There was no way that the girl would have had one of the magazines she was featured in.
However.. Again. Reikiko went to point at her. Again, while making the ear gestures.. "Y-yeah.. Silly.. I'm not a Kitten.." she'd mutter out, sticking her hands in her pockets, starting to blush as the magazine was turned around. Well.. Only one thing to do, once she was told to explain. She could have simply said the ears were fake, but no. While Reikiko was scolding the girl, Kaula turned away, ducking down slightly as she pulled something from her pocket. She resumed her original standing position, hopefully not being noticed.. However.. Now.. It seemed she had cat ears on.. Did she always carry those with her now?
"Yeah.. Wait till you're older to read those." she'd say, pointing at the girl as she blushed. Still, totally blushing from the whole thing. Wait.. Did Hikari just say that she was in one. Kaula slowly turned to look to her, slowly scooting a bit closer to her. She was curious now, as she went to lean in, "You know.. Since you have one of mine.. It's only fair you totally give me a copy of the one you're in.. Just.. Fair is fair is all.. Ya'know." she whispered before looking back at Reikiko. Oh, she couldn't help it with that look.. But.. She must.. Resist.. Or the caretaker would thwap her with the magazine too. Well, she'd probably get thwapped already for not explaining. "What the heck.. Why not?" she muttered before raising her hands up to the cute position as she winked, "Nya." If it'd put a smile on the girl's face, she'd happily look like an idiot.
"It's probably gonna need other stuff.." she said as she thought before nudging Hikari, "Oh. Seems like you have four things to take care of, now." Kaula joked as she started to laugh a little bit, deciding to follow the tiger-riding girl. ... Wait.. Four..? ".. Is there like.. A petshop here anyway..? They'd probably have.." she looked at the size of the tiger. That thing would probably eat a lot. ".. Some things for it.. That's gonna eat SO much food, though."
Kaula just chuckled as she followed, still wearing the cat ears if Hikari wasn't a total buzzkill and took them from her. "So, Reikiko. What are you gonna name it. You have to name it, if it's yours."

To call a tiger a kitten was quite an understatement, and yet Hikari found her attention temporarily turned away to focus onto a subject she had preferred to avoid. The truth was that the edition she had been in had mysteriously disappeared out of existence. People couldn't find any copies of the Blue Banner Army edition, and those who had once possessed them had lost any recollection of reading them, and their magazines had been gone also! Even the editor of the magazine had somewhat considered it a myth, for she started sweating and getting all sorts of restless when someone asked her about it. Of course she would, anyone with a brain wouldn't publish a half-naked picture of a woman who was able to become a Super Saiyan, let aside was a part of an organization like the Blue Banner Army. At Kaula's whispering Hikari leaned closer to whisper back at her, her tone sounding surprising serious despite the jest that was made.
"Let us just say that the pictures of that edition have faded into the annals of history, their existence turned into nothing but a legend and those who have once seen the forbidden pages and value their lives now know to consider it a myth."
Still, she had never expected that while she had been scolding Reikiko, the Saiyan alongside her decided to put on a little show. She had just hid away the magazine, or perhaps confiscated it before noticing the pair of cat ears on Kaula's head. For a few moments she blinked in confusion before watching Kaula make a rather cute pose and add a adorable little 'nya' to it. Of course it was easy to expect what would happen next: for Reikiko had mimicked the motion perfectly, her adorableness level surely rising over nine thousand and destroying any scouter looking at her and when finally she arrived at the last part and tried to open her mouth not a sound escaped from her parted lips.
"..."
Fortunately it seemed the display had still brought a smile onto Reikiko's lips, a smile that was beaming with joy as she lightly tapped the tiger's flank, causing it to move forwards and soon the four of them found themselves on the way back toward the central area of the island. Still, a part of what Kaula said had left her a little bit confused.
"Four?"
Of course she had not really thought too much about the comment, but as they reached the business district and people saw Reikiko arrive alongside her entourage the people who were working or visiting the district couldn't help but look at her, some of them in awe while others actually looked slightly amused. To think there was such a giant docile kitten---ahem tiger was a sight they had never seen before.
"There is a shop around that specializes in the raising and nurturing of animals. They likely would have what we need, at least until we figure out what to do with our guest."
They had arrived at what appeared to be a large building. While a board at the entrance shown it was a store called the 'Petz Paradisio' the moment they stepped inside it would have likely revealed its purpose entirely. Shelves filled with all sorts of bags filled the walls around them, from food to bottles that contained salves or sprays that had medicines. There was literally almost everything that one might had need to raise an animal... a normal one that is. Hikari had approached the man behind the counter, who laughed briefly at the sight of the giant tiger before he explained in amusement.
"Should have expected nothing less of the Chimera! Raising a tiger as if it's a cat. Either way, tigers usually eat meat or fish, but you might want to keep Reikiko around the big kitty, lest it decides to turn one of us into a snack."
Of course where would they find such meat? The shop owner pondered for a moment before he continued his explanation, a grin still on his lips.
"How about you visit the butcher? He should have plenty of meat to spare, and surely would be willing to do so for Reikiko. He used to be a part of the Chimera fan-club, totally still is also. That performance you two did that day was fabulous. In the meanwhile I'll have Reikiko stay here and help me tend to the tiger's health."
Hikari nodded her head lightly while the shop owner and Reikiko, alongside the large unnamed feline moved toward the back of the store. Of course Reikiko hadn't taken the chance to answer Kaula on the idea of a name, but that wasn't because she was ignoring her, rather it was because she lacked the ability to speak.
"I believe I shall head to the butcher then. If you want Kaula, there are some shops and other interesting places around. If you're hungry there is even a 'cook your own food' place nearby that allows you to make anything you want, as long as they got the supplies for it. It's a special attraction of sorts, so people often visit it for free meals, but due to how their supplies are limited you might want to hurry if you want a fancy meal. I'll be back in less than an hour."
After all was said and done Hikari had decided to leave the shop, wanting to finish her business as quickly as possible so that she could get by Reikiko's side again. Even if the tiger seemed docile, it was still a carnivore, and she really didn't want to have to tell Scargot that his daughter was now in the belly of a hungry tiger. Still, perhaps this was the perfect opportunity for Kaula to do some business of her own? Or she could stay with Reikiko. The child seemed more than occupied enough with brushing off the dirt from the tiger's fur and helping the shop owner tend to the exhausted animal. But the question was, what would she end up doing?

Kaula was content with staring at the creature, tilting her head at the big thing. Boy, it's fur sure did look soft.. She almost wanted to pet the creature, but she feared it would end up trying to bite off her hand, so the Saiyan did the smart thing and decided to stay away. She, however, leaned back towards Hikari to whisper again, "It's cool.. I know the editor.. I bet she could probably hook me up with a copy.. Maybe." she said, not realizing the bear that she was poking. She sighed and went to stretch lightly, groaning some as she did. Her body seemed to always be aching due to her annoying heavy weights.
However, a smile slowly reappeared on the usually grumpy Saiyan's mouth as she watched Reikiko start to imitate her. Oh my word, the small Saiyan started to giggle out a bit. She felt a tinge of sadness when no sound came out, though. She had no clue what it was like, to not be able to talk. But, Reikiko had come all this way. She'd, hopefully, gain her voice someday. She stuck her hands in her pockets as she followed them.
"Yeah. Four. Clearly. You know, Reikiko.. This whole place.. Now that tiger. And obviously me.. If you're gonna teach me that stuff an' all.." she said with a soft yawn, "Because one way or another, I'm gonna get to my goal. And, I suppose what you said makes a little sense.. So I might as well try that responsibility crap." Kaula stated with a shrug. Would probably be good not to call that "crap". But she was rather stupid.
Kaula was a bit surprised that more people weren't.. Surprised by the giant tiger roaming the streets. Or rather, not surprised. More afraid. Like they had expected Reikiko to almost do something like this. She scratched at her cheek lightly, blinking a few times. Odd.
"Right so.. I suppose let's head there!" she said with a chuckle, still simply following them, staring at the workers every now and then. She sort of felt left out.. Like most of these people somehow knew the girl. Was she the only one who didn't really know her..? Or what to expect from her..? Her tail slumped down a little bit at that. She was actually feeling a little bit jealous. Upon entering the pet store, the Saiyan's nose wrinkled at the smell of pet food. It was so. Disgusting.. It smelled horrible! She brought a hand up to her nose to hold it, trying to stop herself from smelling the smells of the pet store as Hikari and the store owner talked.
So.. They needed actual meat. She figured that, but she was no professional about these Earth animals or anything. So she shrugged, "Well.. You're going to get the food.." she said before pausing, looking towards Reikiko. She didn't want to leave her.. But.. She had an idea. She waved to the caretaker as she left and took in a breath. Now, if she wanted to do this.. She had to do it fast. She didn't like the idea of leaving Reikiko alone, and she didn't want to bring her along as it would totally ruin the surprise. "I'll.. Be right back. I have something to grab, too." Kaula said before moving to exit the store after waving to Reikiko. Right.. A 'cook your own food'.. She had an idea.
The Saiyan was rushing up and down the store center, trying to find this place. "Where is it.. Where is it.." she mumbled right as she passed her destination. She slowly came to a halt before she looked backwards, "Oh. There." she'd say before starting to run back and into the cooking area. There seemed to be one open station. Kaula paused as she heard a walker next to her, turning her head to make eyecontact with an old woman in a walker. OH SHIT. She was going to have to race her for the open spot, Kaula thought as the old lady began to make a break for it. Meanwhile, the old lady thought Kaula would be a decent enough human being, and let her take the spot. Pffff. Fuck that, Kaula ran towards it, grinning a bit as she looked back to the old lady. She had won and decided to gloat by sticking her tongue out at the old lady. ... If Hikari was to teach her anything, she'd have a LOT to learn.
"Right.. Cookies.. Cookies.. Cookies.." she muttered as she looked around the cooking area for some type of instructions. Oh, there was an apron! She put that on first. She initially put it on backwards, like a cape, till she noticed no one else seemed to have it like that.. Except a little boy who was running around. However Kaula had discovered a cookbook and grabbed it, flipping through it. "Cookies.." she muttered as she tried to find the right recipe. "AHA!" she said loudly, causing a man nearby to flinch and crush the egg he was holding in his hand. "Found it..."
And thus, the Saiyan began to cook. She was.. Pretty bad at it. Usually messing up a few things here or there.. Making a mess. She even got frustrated enough to turn and throw an egg which nearly hit the old lady she had beaten, who was patiently waiting for her turn now. Not that Kaula cared, that is. Still.. She had gotten most of it done. And it was time to cook, "Right.. So if it has to be.. At 200 for 12 minutes.." she muttered, "It can go.. Six-hundred for two minutes.." she muttered to herself as she heated the oven up and threw the tray in.
The brief time had passed and Kaula took the tray out to find.. Her chocolate chip cookies were now.. Pretty damn burned. "Huh.. I.. Thought I followed it right.." she said before looking at the picture she had in the cookbook. Nope.. Didn't look the same. Well.. They probably tasted the same. She went to take them off the pan before stuffing them in a baggie. "... Might as well take this, too-" she said as she ripped the recipe out of the cookbook, "-so I can practice later.." she said, walking off. Yay! The old lady could finally get the station.. Though Kaula left it an absolute MESS.. And she had torn out the recipe the poor old lady needed. Hah. Unfortunate.
Kaula eventually made her way back to the pet shop, slowly walking in as she looked around, "Hello..? I brought a snack.." she'd say as she entered. If Reikiko was there, she'd walk over to her and offer the girl the baggy of about twelve severely "battle scarred" chocolate chip cookies. "Hope you like them.. Or.. Something."

While both Hikari and Kaula had been out on their own specific appointments Reikiko had chosen to stay with the tiger, and while she brushed its fur back clean and helped apply salves and sprays to some minor injuries the tiger had the child could hear another purr-like noise from the tiger, who was merely content to let Reikiko pamper him a little. It was a rather pleasant sensation, the act of taking care of someone. Nevertheless, after they had finished taking care of the tiger and the shop owner returned to the front of the store the child cuddled up beside the tiger, deciding to briefly close her eyes. While she didn't fall asleep, she could hear her breathing slow down a little as she felt rather at ease around the tiger. What would she have called the tiger... It was at that moment a soft and gentle voice sounded through her mind, for the first time causing Reikiko to hear her own voice.
I think your name shall be 'Kitty', oh wait... You aren't a kitty right? Then you shall be a Kenny instead.
It sounded like a pleasant nickname, yet when she tried to whisper the name not a word escaped her lips, causing her to slowly rise up from her soft pillow-like resting place and approached a small mirror she saw on a table. Her own reflection gazed quietly at her and after a moment of consideration she opened her mouth again, trying to form the words again.
"..."
And yet not a sound escaped her lips. Although she tried to repeat the act several times only silence and her soft breath escaped from her mouth, and after a moment she found tears running down the corner of her eyes. She couldn't talk, she couldn't even remember anything past her awakening a week or two ago. She didn't even know who she was, aside from the fact people identified her as 'Reikiko'. Once more she tried to speak, but upon the depressive feeling of failure she found herself breaking out into sobs, and afraid of being heard the child ran toward the feline she had just called Kenny and buried her face into his fur, attempting to mute down the sound of her crying.
Was that what she was meant to be? A 'broken' human? Someone who wasn't even real? The thought terrified her a little, but after several moments she heard the sound of footsteps, their pace and confidence in the stride reminding her of only one person. She had quickly wiped away the remnants of her tears before turning to face the doorway, and upon watching Kaula enter with a bag of 'cookies' the child blinked in confusion at the gift. While initially she smiled brightly at the Saiyan when she was given the bag of cookies, the moment she peered inside...
... Did she just toss those in a volcano?
The child tried her hardest to keep her smile, looking up at Kaula and aware of the fact she would be expected to eat that gift. She remembered how Hikari had scolded her when she had given the apple Kaula got for her to Daiki once, so in the end she was going to have to be a good and nice girl! Mentally preparing herself for the apocalypse the girl lowered her hand inside the bag of cookies and soon raised one of the burnt cookies out of it, bringing it to her mouth and after taking a little gulp took a deep long bite from it.
What is this?! There's more salt than anything in this cookie!
Still she was going to have to be a good and nice girl. Kaula had gotten her cookies and so sacrifices would have to be made that day. Eating the remaining bit of the cookie the girl found the saltiness slowly dominating her taste buds, and despite the fact she knew that it would be dangerous if she continued this insanity, she still kept going onward.
Did she pour a bag of salt instead of sugar on those?
A second cookie followed as she found her eyes almost getting watery, doing her best to hold back the tears that would have appeared for a different reason. In the back of her mind she could imagine it. She herself fighting a giant cookie, and the cookie slowly bringing her on the brink of annihilation by making her eat it bit by bit.
Someone save me!
The third cookie was almost even worse, the chocolate barely tasted through the failed product and in the back of her mind she truly hoped she was strong enough to survive this food poisoning. She was never going to be able to look at a cookie the same way she did before.
This isn't a cookie, it's a chemical weapon!
The cookie that could destroy civilizations, keep it to a Saiyan to invent such a weapon. Still, with all the courage and determination she could muster she worked her way onto eating the remaining cookies one after another before she stepped backwards and...
"..."
Raising a hand toward Kaula she made a thumps-up motion and smiled, in an attempt to show her appreciation for the snack. Sacrifices had been made that day, and the poor girl had experienced a new form of a trauma. Cookiephobia was invented on the very same day.
"Oh, you already arrived Kaula?"
Hikari had just returned, seemingly holding a large bag of meat in one hand, and a bottle of soda in the other, causing Reikiko to rush toward the latter in a beeline, snatch it out of her hands and chug it down in one go, taking a deep breath.
Please Otou-san, don't allow her to do this a second time or I might seriously die from Kaula's cooking...
If Reikiko had been a Saiyan then surely she must had gotten a Zenkai boost as a result of the harm her body had experienced that moment.

Kaula let the girl take the cookie. It was almost a good thing that the girl couldn't talk at the moment, because she probably wouldn't have been able to keep quiet about the whole.. Every single comment she made. Still, Kaula was hopeful as the girl took the first cookie. Kaula didn't really know that Salt and Sugar were different. They looked the same, both started with S.. ... And they both looked the same.
She had actually only expected the girl to take one! She took a second, though. "Wow.. My cooking is that good..?" she muttered to herself, a bit surprised. "I must be a natural." Kaula continued, oblivious to the poor mute's suffering.
And then, to confirm these thoughts, the girl took a third... And seemed to give her a thumbs up. It was this. This, that made Kaula's day.... The another.. And another. By time there were a few left, Kaula began to giggle a bit, raising a hand, "Woah.. I know it's good." she said, smiling brightly, "But save some for Hikari." she added on, "Besides. You might give your tiny tummy a belly ache, eating all these good treats." she said before glancing to the tiger. Damn. That thing really was huge.
It was about then, that Hikari walked back in, "Oh! Yeah! Got back a few minutes ago." she'd say. If there were cookies left, she'd try to offer them to Hikari, "I made cookies. Reikiko clearly loves them, because she was gobbling them all up." the saiyan said with a giggle. The caretaker hadn't said anything about the teaching.. So Kaula just assumed the answer was a yes. "Was your trip to the butcher's nice..? Mine to the cooking place was. There was some old lady who tried to race me to the cooking station. But psh. I totally kicked her ass when it came to speed. She had some walker and was like.. So slow. It was kinda funny, though." the Saiyan said, oblivious to how much a dick she sounded like.
(Sorry for the small post. xD)

Wow yeah right, cooking that was so good you would experience it once in your life... before it would downright kill you the second time around. Nevertheless, the child had just found herself on the doorstep of the afterlife, to the point she could have sworn she almost seen a large man of sorts with a gravel waiting for a group of people that were moving in a long orderly line before she had finally felt her mind drift back to reality, looking at Kenny who was gazing at her with a look of pity in his eyes. Smart tiger, if only she had been smart enough to follow his example. Either way, while she was absent-mindedly following the conversation between Hikari and Kaula, having placed the seemingly empty bag of cookies on a nearby table, the child had decided to walk a bit away from their conversation, seemingly holding the bottle of soda as if it had become her lifeline. Nevertheless, it seemed the conversation was about to become more serious as Kaula declared in amusement at how she had 'bested' an elderly woman in her chase toward the cooking station. Her eyes narrowed into a stern gaze at Kaula while she spoke in a disapproving tone.
"What did I tell you about responsibility Kaula? That elderly lady was in fact likely one of the island's denizen, and most likely also one who has often done the same thing you did for Reikiko just now. To use your vitality and strength to outmatch an old woman for something childish like this? With such a mentality you'd never become considered an adult, let stand even a Supah Saiyajin, at best you would be nothing but a childish fool who basks in her own power, unaware of the responsibilities it brings. What if this woman now became unable to finish her everyday work because of your ignorant actions? You disappoint me Kaula, for one who I thought might change the Saiyajin race for the better it seems I have to teach you manners before we can even get to the fundamental base of martial arts. Make sure to apologize to that lady if you see her again, or the only thing you'd learn from me is how to say sorry in twelve languages."
She shook her head, clearly disappointed at Kaula's attitude. However, in an attempt to lessen her annoyance at the woman's words just now Hikari decided to turn her focus onto the cookies, walking over to the bag and pulled her hand into it, seemingly scooping out a cookie.
"..."
Reikiko found her mouth agape for a moment when she realized that there had in fact been a cookie left, and pretty much certain that if Hikari devoured even a single bit of the cookie her efforts would have been all for nothing. Still, sadly for the poor girl Hikari had been with her back to Reikiko, and while the girl tried to dash toward her caretaker, it had all been too late... The cookie snapped into half as Hikari bit into it, her eyes widening for a moment before a frown appeared on her forehead.
"This thing tastes worse than Saibaman dung..."
Did she just really compare those glorious cookies that Reikiko ate for Kaula to the poop of a Saibaman? While she had never tasted the droppings of those pesky green monsters Reikiko hoped for all that was tasty in the world that Hikari meant it figuratively. With little to no hesitation Hikari moved her way toward Kaula, trying to plant her boot onto the younger woman's feet to force her mouth open before pressing the cookie forcefully into her mouth, unleashing the salty torture onto her taste-buds, and gods knew it would even kill an Oozaru.
"Guess I'll have another thing to teach you before we focus onto martial arts and manners... Cooking, because at this rate you're more than likely going to blow up a kitchen, or kill a 'too nice for her own good' girl over there."
She gestured with a hand at the child, who had her shoulders dropped in defeat and a visible hint of regret on her expression. All her hard work had been for nothing... She waddled over to the bag of meat, pulling out what resembled a giant steak of sorts and placed it before the large feline.
At least you're having a proper meal that won't feel as if someone is trying to intimidate you through their cuisine.
The tiger nodded lightly at her, as if he understood her thoughts before nomming onto the piece of meat, tear through it with his maw before letting a content burp after several long moments of feeding. It seemed that he was steadily regaining his energy as Reikiko was feeding him one piece of meat after the other, and finally at the end of the fourth piece he licked her cheek, causing her to grin brightly and climb onto his back.
"How about we find that old lady you bullied earlier? To become stronger the first thing you need to learn is to acknowledge your mistakes and learn from them. After that, depending on the attitude you shown I will train the two of you tomorrow. Reikiko will need to regain a grasp of proper combat, especially if we are going to receive more outsiders and visitors onto the island. And you Kaula need to learn to control your power just as much, and depending on how hard you work... I 'might' let you fight me in my Supah Saiyajin form for a bit."
Of course she knew Kaula would have no chance, but the idea of fighting the warrior from the stories Kaula had been chasing likely would have been something that would excite the girl immensely. If worst came to worst she would find an alternative, but gods knew that she would have to teach Kaula some manners, starting by apologizing to the old lady from before.
"Guess it's a good thing the dojo is almost finished..."

Kaula was on cloud nine at this part. She felt like she was soaring high with no fear of heights to worry her. That nothing could bring her down, ever. That she was the best cook ever. That her cookies were totally prize-winning and weren't, in fact, a weapon capable of mass genocide. ... Though Kaula would be proud of the whole mass genocide thing as well, just oddly not as much. The Saiyan was just standing there, smiling, eyes closed so she didn't see the look Hikari was giving her.
She opened her mouth, ready to thank Hikari for the compli- Wait.. Responsibility..? But she was being responsible.. She.. Made.. Cookies.. Oh. The lady. Kaula opened her eyes, letting out a quiet pout. Now she was getting lectured. Kaula tried to seem like she was listening, but she slowly looked to the ground. She seemed almost.. Disappointed. No, sad. She seemed sad that she had disappointed Hikari, it seemed.. That was at least a start, seemed she understood that much. Still, she just let her tail hang as she thought about how stupid and pointless manners were. Psh. Her manners were fine.. Probably. .. Shut up, stop judging her.
At least Hikari was going to taste her cookies! That was good! And there was at least one left! Kaula tried to smile a bit but it seemed she was still a bit upset about the whole disappointing her. It was one of the first times someone talked to her like that and she actually felt really bad about it, not just sorta bad. Or kinda bad. But, still! Once she got a taste of those glorious cookies, all would be alright.
All was not alright. Kaula's eyes widened at that, "Wh-.. What..? But.. R-.." she paused for a moment, "... How do you know what their dung tastes like.." she'd mutter under her breath in defiance.
SUDDENLY! Her feet hurt. Hikari had walked over and slammed her foot down onto her weighted-bootsie clad feet. "A-Aah OW!" Kaula'd protest, only to have her genocide cookie half forced into her mouth. OH GOD. Was this her cooking!? I-.. It tasted all wrong! How come other people's cookies tasted differently! She kinda followed the directions and kinda used the correct ingredients, she thought. But she'd try to spit it out. If she was unable to, the poor Saiyan would eventually swallow it.
"Th-that's a lotta things to learn.." she grumbled out. She was almost happy that Hikari wasn't making her write or read things. Sure, she knew important words.. Like fighting.. And punching. Though her handwriting was absolutely rubbish and she couldn't spell for crap. She also had trouble reading things sometimes, but that's a whole 'nother ballpark.
Kaula looked to Reikiko, remembering all the cookies she ate. "... S-sorry.." she'd mutter before hanging her head in defeat again. She was going to be content with just walking off, saying she'd apologize but never do it.. But now Hikari wanted to FIND the old lady..? And she also wanted Kaula to control her power!? Psh. Yeah right. As if. A Saiyan is uncontrollable! Kaula whined out a little bit and grumbled something out softly. "Idon'twanna.." She just stood there, crossing her arms. Geeze, she was almost acting like a child more then Reikiko was. However, at the talk of fighting Hikari while she was a Super Saiyan got Kaula to grumble out the words: "... Iwannafightasupersaiyan.."
".. F-.. Fine.. Let's.. Go find the old lady.."

Oh boy, did she really just ask her how she knew what Saibaman dung tasted like? Her eyes narrowing into a glare Hikari suddenly pulled the IGGP magazine she had still on her, rolling it up before trying to whap the girl on her head in return for the defiant attitude. Of course it was all just a figurative saying, but Kaula obviously had to take the saying a bit too serious. Letting out a groan the hybrid finally recovered from the nonsense while grumbling in annoyance.
"It's a figurative saying, however if you keep up that attitude I might make you one of the first to be able to tell me how it tastes."
Of course Hikari had made certain that Kaula would be forced to swallow the whole cookie, just so she knew what type of torture Reikiko had gone through, and when the child received an apologize Reikiko shook her head gently in response to the statement. Luckily it seemed she didn't mind it too much, aside from the traumatic event having given her a phobia for cookies. With Kaula seemingly having finally submitted, perhaps due to the promise of fighting a Super Saiyan Hikari decided it was time for them to leave the pet shop. Of course Reikiko was carrying the bag that had been fairly reduced in contents after the tiger had his meal.
"Judging from your antics she would likely still be somewhere at the dining area. Best place as any to start searching."
It was only a moment afterwards that the four of them had made their way toward the plaza where the 'cook your own meal' building had been, and as if by some odd twist of chance the same old lady that Kaula had defeated in the little race competition left the building, approaching their direction.
"Ah Miss Lilly, a pleasure to meet you on this fine day."
The old lady smiled up at Hikari, slowly pulling up a pair of glasses onto her face before looking at Hikari. There was no mistaking it for Kaula, this was exactly the same woman she had defeated in the race earlier. The old lady her walker was filled with a small bag, and Reikiko and Kenny had leaned over to sniff at its contents, almost looking as if both had been kittens.
"Hehe, a nice day to you also Hikari. And it seems little Rei is as adorable as ever, and she even has a big kitty with her today. Would it perhaps be possible that you been looking forward to Grandma Lilly's secret recipe cookies?"
Reikiko nodded her head repeatedly, almost in a frenzy as a tiny bit of drool dripped from her mouth. Oh gods, Aunt Lilly's secret cookies were the embodiment of a divine gift. They tasted like cookies, but had this odd apple-like filling in them that melted in her mouth with a delicious flavor. The old lady grinned briefly as she raised a hand into the walker and handed the cookies to Reikiko who made a cheerful bow on top of the tiger to show her gratitude before taking one of the cookies, nibbling onto it in the same manner a squirrel would before her cheeks flushed up into a crimson color, her eyes closed and a blissful smile appeared on her face... Yep, she had just reached paradise.
"I wanted to bake her an apple pie but... there was this young lady who pretty much ran past me, claimed the station and left it looking like a battlefield, not to mention she ripped the recipe page out of the book... I guess she was in a hurry, or children those days don't respect their elders anymore. I didn't even had my glasses on to see her properly..."
Oh, but we all knew who the culprit was, right Kaula? Hikari turned her gaze sideways at the younger Saiyan and pretty much looked at her if she was soundlessly giving instructions. Of course that stern gaze easily betrayed what needed to be said, but perhaps she could play along a little and help motivate Kaula a bit more.
"Did you see that look on Reikiko's face just now? She looks so happy from eating just one cookie. Why not apologize properly and ask if she is willing to teach you how to cook? If you want to start becoming a part of this community, and protect Reikiko so that someday you'll find your answers... you need to learn to fit in with the others."
And what about Reikiko? Well, she had just snapped out of her daze and started to nibble onto another cookie, causing her to experience the same euphoria from before. Her entire body squirmed in delight at the flavor, and if she had been able to make a sound there would likely had been a happy cry to escape her lips.
"Did you hear Hikari, the Dojo is almost created. I'll look forward to seeing you and little Rei there. I heard they prepared the greatest training tools and obstacle courses for the island. There have even been rumors that a gravity chamber of the highest quality and newest technology has been designed."
Leave it to Vipoi to fund and design the combat area of the island, albeit she was a bit worried if it would be a good idea to build a huge gravity chamber, especially if one kept in mind that Reikiko would most likely use it for some silly game of sorts. Whether she would or not would be something she'd wonder about another time.
"I did hear about it, in fact I got a student who will be accompanying me tomorrow, and possibly a second one... IF she does what her teacher told her to do. Of course she likely will. A real Saiyajin wouldn't skip the chance to fight a Supah Saiyajin."
Oh boy, she really had pulled Kaula into a corner didn't she? And with all gazes aside from daze-struck Reikiko aimed at her... she was literally in the spotlight.

Kaula had balls, even though she didn't really. In reality, she was more arrogant and didn't like anyone talking down on her; no matter how strong they were. Hell, she was about to talk back when the magazine came down on her. She flinched and tilted her head up to just glare at Hikari for a moment. However, on the threat being made, she had decided to slowly stop her glaring and glance back down at the floor.
"I don't even know what that word means.." she mumbled as she let out another annoyed pout. She didn't want to be one of the first to find out how it tasted, though.. Yuck.
Still, Kaula seemed to be hesitant to follow them. Why'd she have to start having good manners now..? Did she have to have them all the time..? Like.. Could she not have them some times..? But others she had to have manners..? She had so much questions! Alas, she didn't voice them. She just went to follow them, still feeling all sour. She even took off her cat-ears headband and stuffed it back into her pocket! Wow, she was really just being a negative nancy now.
Though, when they reached the old lady, Kaula refused to look up. She kept her eyes focused on the ground. She just listened, her tail angrily flicking back and forth slowly. What could she do? She could punch the lady! Wait.. Wait.. No. She promised to behave on the island. ... Kinda. Plus, she had a feeling that a punch would probably kill the grandma. Humans got weak when they got old. Plus Hikari would probably put her in the ground if she even tried. This was so stupid! She talks so slow! Her old woman voice is so annoying and she couldn't even walk properly! If she was a Saiyan, she probably would have been killed out of mercy! And.. Stupid... Stuff.. She looked up for a moment to notice that Hikari was looking at her. The young Saiyan went to drop her head. ".. S-sorry for takin' the station.. I Thought it was a race.." Kaula let out in a grumble as she crossed her arms. A race she totally won. Yeah.. "And.. Sorry for messin' up the stuff at the station too.." she added on, knowing Kaula would make her apologize for that too.
Geeze, all this apologizing. If you can't do fun things without having to apologize, then what's the point of doing them? It was so lame. Like.. Total lame sauce. "I don't wanna learn how to cook anymore." she explained with a soft pout, giving up after her first try. "And I fit in with others just fine.. Kinda. ... Sometimes." well, she fit in with SOME saiyans, and even then not really. She wasn't quite human, usually too brutal at some points. She wasn't quite Saiyan, usually too soft at other points. Why was this just so HARD? Why was it all so confusing!? Social interactions had no value in combat, so what would this teach her? She just kept her arms crossed, soaking in her negativeness.
She idlely listened to the chit-chat about the dojo and gravity something, but she was too busy being all grumpy and confused about what she was, that she didn't really listen. It wasn't untill she had heard Hikari's last sentence that she noticed that others were looking at her again.
"... I'll be good.."

The old lady blinked in confusion for a moment at Kaula's response, and while the older hybrid had tried to explain the situation to the elderly woman Reikiko had started crawling on the back of the large tiger. She seemed to had been moving closer to where Kaula had been, before making a light gesture with her hand, attempting to wave at the girl in the hope of drawing her attention and getting her to come closer. Once she had done so Reikiko ended up lowering a hand in a pointing gesture at the bag of cookies. Could it be that she was talking about cookies? Then she raised a hand to point at Kaula's face, seemingly trying to draw attention to Kaula herself. Cookies and Kaula... Could it have been that Reikiko was talking about the Kaula Cookies? A moment later the child suddenly leaned upwards, gently pressing her lips against Kaula's cheek, an innocent smooch being made while the elderly lady chuckled softly.
"Oh mai~ Seems little Rei likes your feisty companion Hikari."
As Reikiko finally moved back she bowed lightly, a showing of gratitude while at the same time she seemed to had been trying to explain that she was grateful for the cookies Kaula tried to bake for her. It was a gesture that Hikari had noticed, cause a moment had passed before she grinned sheepishly and whispered at Kaula.
"I think she is saying thank you."
Still, to thank someone for attempted murder through genocide cookies was usually not something people would have done. Perhaps Reikiko was being a genuinely nice little angel? Whether the case might had been, the old lady seemed to had finished her conversation with Hikari and prepared to walk away. If Kaula wanted to say something, now was her final chance for their current meeting. Nevertheless, once they left Hikari smiled briefly at the hybrid before she hummed softly.
"You remind me of how I and my brother used to be. While both of us had the attitude of a true Saiyajin our mother, who had pretty much mellowed down after meeting our dad pretty much whapped manners into our brains. However, there is one thing I always fondly remember that she taught me: Kaula, do you know that your fists aren't the only weapon in a battle?"
She paused for a moment, waiting for the girl to try to give a response to her statement before she continued her explanation, her tone back more cheerful and gentle compared to beofre.
"Words are often just as important. The right words and the right mannerisms can easily sway a person before a battle even started. I always assumed as a child that the only way for me to gain victory was to punch harder than my opponent... yet our fists have limitations. Take Avalon for example. Everyone here isn't gathered through force, but through words, and there are plenty of powerful people on this island who were drawn through words. Reikiko might lack strength, but her way of acting has a much greater influence on everyone compared to your firsts. But that likely confuses you a little."
She wasn't certain on how to properly explain the nature of the thing she was trying to teach Kaula. How to explain that sometimes behaving yourself and leaving a good impression could be just as important as punching and kicking might had been.
"A strategy in battle is often just as important, and often those who know how to act in the right way will gain more allies than your intimidation through force might do. This is why it's important for you to learn how to behave. If you learn to use those teachings as a weapon you will someday be stronger than any Saiyan who has ignored the importance of those teachings."
With all said and done it seemed that dusk started to settle, and with little Reikiko finally stifling a yawn behind her hand it was clear that the child was getting tired. Perhaps now was a good time as any for them to find a place to stay?
"While the dormitory isn't finished yet... What do you say if the four of us go camping tonight?"
Reikiko's attention had seemingly been drawn instantly by those words, raising her hands into tiny fists while pumping them up into the air, clearly letting out a cheer of sorts. The child looked with almost intense devotion at Hikari and Kaula, especially Kaula as she hoped the Saiyan would accept this offer.
"I could tell you some interesting stories... For example about the tale of how Reikiko defeated the first Supah Saiyajin of our current era."
She expected the mere words known as Super Saiyan would draw Kaula's attention, and if it meant the hybrid would tag along with them, then it was a story she would gladly tell. In the end Reikiko would likely had been extremely happy to have Kaula join them for the camping trip, and there was something pleasant about taking a nap under a star-lit sky while surrounded by friends.
"Unless of course such a tale isn't awesome enough for miss 'I want to be a Supah Saiyajin'. I promise it's a story so intense that everyone who seen it still remembers the event vividly. In fact I got footage of the fight, it's your first chance to see a Supah Saiyajin fighting against someone."
She was pretty much seducing Kaula at this point, in the end she knew there was no way that the hybrid was going to be able to resist a temptation like this. Not to mention the fact that Reikiko was looking at her with those doe-like eyes, and after making the kitty-ears gesture, it seemed the child wanted to be accompanied not by 'Kaula the Saiyan' but by her friend 'Kaula the cat girl'. Was this something that Kaula could possibly refuse, when those adorable eyes were looking at her with the sweetest expression ever found?

Kaula was just standing there, still trying to be all grumpy and stuff. BUT NO. NO. Of course not. While the caretaker was trying to talk to the old lady, Reikiko was trying to walk over to her. She was doing something, but it seemed Kaula was lost a bit too much in her thoughts, her eyes narrowing lightly. It wasn't untill the kiss on the cheek that the Saiyan started to blush. Damn it. She had almost had it. She could have stayed all grumpy. But no. She, however, kept her arms crossed. She glanced towards Reikiko for a moment, ".. Y-.. You're welcome.." she muttered softly.
It's not like she knew they'd be a weapon of mass destruction! Still, she let the old lady walk off without a word. She didn't think she'd want to learn to cook.. Or rather, she didn't want help learning how to cook. She could do it her own damn self. .. Probably.
She perked up a bit as she listened to Hikari, glancing towards her in silence. She had a brother..? Regardless, she looked down to her fists for a moment, "Of course my fists aren't the only weapon.." she said, "There's my head." Oh hey? Did she mean her brains? Her intelligence? "I headbutt people sometimes.." Nope. "And there's my feet.. You know, kicking." she continued, "Not only those, but actual weapons as well.. Like.. Swords." she said, giggling a little bit, "And you thought I wouldn't know the answer to that."
Wait.. Words? The heck was this woman going on about? Did she mean words like 'if you don't do what i want, i will murder your family and destroy all of your possessions'? No? Kaula blinked a little bit, questioning whether or not this woman was actually Half-Saiyan. Kaula was legitimately surprised by them, it seemed. Though, the Saiyan took her words into consideration.. Since they were apparently important, for some reason.
She also knew that strategies were important as well! Of course she knew that. She always knew that some of the time.. Okay. Half of the time.
However, when the term camping came up, the Saiyan responded, "I've always been camping since I've been here." she said with a soft mutter. What does one expect, the dormitories weren't finished yet.
Though, as she was initially planning on not taking her up on the offer.. Hikari had peaked her interest with those words.. And Reikiko was pretty cute, too. And, between Hikari's seducing of her and Reikiko's cuteness, her defenses were chipped enough so she let out a sigh. ".. F-fine.." she muttered out softly. "I'll.. Come along.. I guess.." she said. Kaula still seemed to be a bit distant, like something was on her mind. "So where are we going to be camping out, anyway..?"

Of course, trust a Saiyan to use their whole body as a weapon... For a moment Hikari couldn't help but wonder whether Kaula had truly understood the importance of what she had been trying to explain, but in the end she decided to shrug it aside for the time being. When the young hybrid asked her about where they would camp Hikari grinned for a moment, instead of answering the question she had given her a 'you'll see' response, and soon the group started making its way to a part of the island that Kaula had likely yet to visit. While the Dojo was on the verge of being finished, only some interior being left as they awaited the supply shuttles that would arrive tomorrow at dawn, Hikari knew the outer area was mostly finished, and upon arriving at the specific part of the island a rather fascinating sight awaited them. While there was a large building, likely the dojo itself there were also plenty of other sights to behold. A large assortment of obstacle courses were visibly lined up side by side further in the distance, some of them even having outlandish difficult-looking stuff like a freaking mountain-like cliff that rose at the end of one of the courses, suggesting it was likely one of the more difficult levels. But there was also a simple arena of sorts, a fancy-looking machine on the outside likely related to the arena. Nevertheless, Hikari had led them to a small clearing near the entrance to the area, and after tossing several tiny capsules into the air three western-styled beds, several pillows, a small burning fire and one long blanket appeared on the grass. Capsule Corporation truly made camping be lazily easy.
"Let's go and sit around the fire."
Hikari had just sat down onto the grass while Kenny moved over toward the long blanket, flopping down on it while Reikiko climbed off his back, petting his shoulder to wish him goodnight before moving over toward the two older girls. Of course, the moment Kaula tried to sit down, she would have found the child to have tried nestling herself on the Saiyan's lap, and if not resisted would doze off into a nap soon afterwards.
"Well, since she is asleep I guess there won't be any harm in telling you the whole story. However, before we begin this story I have to warn you not to try to tell Reikiko about the events. To her it sounds like they were done by someone else, as she truly has no recollection of them. We even tried to make her remember but... it kind of breaks her down into a borderline psychotic state of denial so..."
She sighed briefly before she resumed her story, recalling the fact that she would most likely need to start at the beginning if she wanted for Kaula to understand the whole story.
"Before we begin I'll explain a little bit more about Reikiko's past. How much do you know about the martial arts schools of our world? In case you aren't certain what I'm talking about, I mean the Turtle School and the Crane School. That man, Daiki that you met recently is one of the masters of the Turtle school, while Reikiko is the sole Grandmaster of the Crane School. Albeit with her memories gone and her evil side's attitude I fear the school might end up being lost forever if she doesn't recover someday..."
She sighed deeply, recalling the fact that Reikiko had not taken any formal students, and with the one from the Reikiko games having yet to start their formal training, it was questionable if the Crane School would be passed on to a new generation.
"Reikiko became the Grandmaster after her previous master was slain by the girl's own sister. Reikiko considered the Grandmaster, a woman called Tamako akin to an elder sister, so close was their bond and her admiration for her... it actually makes me feel a bit jealous."
She smiled weakly before shaking her head lightly. It was unfair for her to say those words, but either way she continued shortly afterwards, her tone growing darker and more serious as she spoke.
"You likely are wondering why I'm telling you this... The reason behind that explanation is the fact that Reikiko's loss of her mentor is what put the events in motion that led to her slaying the Supah Saiyajin within West Capitol."
That's right, Reikiko had desired to absorb a strong foe, the strongest one she could find for the sake of obtaining enough power to avenge the deceased Grandmaster, the one failure Reikiko would never be able to mend.
"How much do you know about the events that happened at West Capitol? I know the media has a lot of propaganda about what happened that day, and as a result the facts are often unclear, and people end up dealing with biased opinions. That is why I want to hear your own opinion of what happened that day, at least from what you heard."
Of course the media said it was the Saiyan Empire who had tried to kidnap the governor and all the lies that were woven surrounding the siege on West Capitol, a plot that worked excellent when one kept in mind the violent attitude some of the 'heroes' of that day had used. Nevertheless, the truth was not something that easy to uncover, and it was for that reason she wanted to hear Kaula's opinion for herself.
"I also might advise you that depending on how sensitive your stomach is, I might have to turn off the final bit of the footage. The end result of the battle between Reikiko and the Supah Saiyajin was a bit... disturbing."
Of course she was talking about the rumor Walker told her about, the one where Reikiko had 'eaten' the Saiyan, of course absorb was the more proper term but perhaps eating would have been a much easier term to use.
