Kaula sighed as she wandered around the South Capitol. She didn't know what she was trying to gain by being here. Hell, she wasn't fully sure where was, here. Which way was her aunt's house..? And where the hell in the city was she, this whole place kinda looked the same. It was all too hot here, too, she whined in her head as she stopped on the sidewalk, sighing a bit. The young Saiyan took this moment to take in the surrounding area. It was then that something caught her eye. No, it wasn't the lovely lady, who happened to be scantaly clad, currently walking down the other side of the street. It wasn't the middle-aged man in what was clearly a mid-life crisis car speeding down the street. It was the word "Tournament". It was a flyer on a nearby post that Kaula made her way towards, yanking right off without care. "South Capitol Gym... Boxing Tournament..?" she read aloud. "The fuck is boxing?" she asked herself, still talking out loud. Well, it was something to do. There was also an address on the flyer, but she had no clue what to do about that since she had no idea where she was. Regardless, she'd still try to find her way there. Sure, it would have taken her longer then she'd like to admit to ask for directions, but she eventually got there with the help from some old guy who had pointed her in the right direction. A soft chiming signaled out through the room as she entered what seemed to be the reception area. There was a girl behind the counter area who smiled to her. From the sounds coming from another room, it seemed some people were fighting. This, of course, intrigued the Saiyan girl who moved to simply step towards there without minding the girl, who tried to speak up, "Y-you can't go back there without s-.. Okay.." Too late, the Saiyan was in the house.. Err.. Gym. When she entered, she didn't know quiet what to think. It wasn't what she was used to. In the center of the large room, there was a single boxing ring which was currently occupied by two large men. One, a large bald, and totally ripped, Saiyan who seemed to have a thin mustache and his tail wrapped around his waist. He was wearing some type of weird, tight, red shorts and matching boots. Not only that, but both of the men were wearing the same gloves as the fruity man who threatened her before after she beat him down. Maybe they were in cahoots? Regardless, she watched as the Saiyan was simply beating on the human, inspecting both of their forms of fighting, till the Saiyan had simply won due to brute strength. Maybe the human should have dodged more then he tried to block. Why weren't they using their feet? Why were they using no energy blasts? This just made her more interested.
She was so intrigued in watching it that she didn't notice that a man had snuck up on her and had held a hand out. He was the pinnacle of human grossness. He was a large man, balding slightly and had attempted to cover it up with a comb over of his remaining hair. He was a large man, but not muscular. Simply fat, and the white tanktop with grease stains didn't do much to hide that. Not at all, considering some of the fat was poking out from underneath that and above his baggy shorts. "Hello there pretty lady, I think yer new here. I'm Sal and I own this here fine establishment. Yah can go ahead and call me Greasy Sal, everyone else does." Kaula glanced at the hand and idly sniffed at the air for a moment before wrinkling her nose in disgust. "... Hello.." she'd mumble. "Mind me askin' what a pretty lady like yah is doin's here. We don't get ladies like yah in here often." "I can see why." Kaula responded, glancing at him from behind her sunglasses in disgust. "Woah woah. No need to get insultin', lady. Was just askin' a question." Kaula then went to hold up the flyer she had. "Oh. Yer here fer that? Ya know, yah didn't have tah go an' tear it down. Those things cost money. Anyway, if yer thinkin' of joinin', I could get yah all set, if yah got equipment." "Equipment..?" Kaula asked. "Like.. What..? And also, I was wondering what this.. Boxing is." she'd say. Greasy Sal sorta just.. Stood there, staring at the Saiyan in disbelief, "What, didjyah live under a rock or somethin' tutts? Boxin's a sport. It's what the big lug up there was doin' with the new guy!" "He doesn't look tough, I can fight him." Kaula said, eyeing the big Saiyan who was now in the corner of the ring drinking some vodka. "Den how 'bout this. If ya can defeat that big guy up there at boxin', meaning using only yer fists, then I'll let ya in tha tournament fer free. An' let ya use the equipment. Hell, if ya can beat the champion. I'll even teach ya how to box an' all if you win." he said before whistling, "DENISE! Get in here with some more boxin' gloves fer dis lady here." The receptionist girl from before came in with some more boxing gloves and simply handed them off to the woman, who was then helped into the ring with the large Saiyan, who stared down at the small woman. "What is dis? This punny girl will not be enough to fight the great monkey from tha north. Dah. She will not last a minute." he said as Kaula was attempting to put on her boxing gloves, "She cannot even put on her gloves! This will be an easy match!" Kaula, with some help from Denise, eventually got her gloves on correctly and stared up to the other Saiyan before looking to Greasy Sal, "So only my fists..?" she asked, causing Greasy Sal to nod, "Pretty much." "... Alright." she'd say before she got a loud, hearty laugh from the Saiyan man. "You shall go down fast, little monkey seester."
A nearby bell rung, starting the match, but also getting Kaula's attention as she turned to glance in the direction of the noise. This earned a forceful jab to her jaw, causing her to stumble back. The Great Monkey laughed at this and readied himself to deal another punch. RIGHT. She had to act fast, twisting her body to narrowly avoid the second punch he swung. Kaula tried to remember how the other guy was fighting. She raised her hands up in a defensive stance infront of her face, like the human was doing earlier, to try to block the next attack but this only caused the large saiyan to punch her gloves, which then made her gloves come in contact with her face in a painful way. RIGHT. Maybe she should dodge more, she thought, as she shook her head. It was her turn. She was against a pretty large opponent.. She could only use her fists.. And he seemed stronger then him. But, hopefully, she was more agile. Kaula grunted out a bit and went to start throwing a few jabs of her own towards the man's mid-section, which didn't seem to do much. He went to throw another punch her way, again aiming for her head. Kaula ducked down before bringing her fist up as she stood, landing a solid punch on his chin. He grumbled out, stumbling back some before falling to the ground. The smaller Saiyan paused, blinking as she looked from him to her fist. Boy, she seemed to get lucky. In the meantime, Greasy Sal seemed to have moved closer to the ring and started counting, "... Three! Four! Fi-" he got cut off as the large Saiyan man went to slowly stand up. "I am not out yet, Sal. Do not start tha counting, dah?" He raised his hands back up as Kaula sighed. It was never going to be that easy. she guessed. Might as well get ready keep fighting..
Kaula took up the stance again, at least she was getting the hang of this.. ... Kinda. She needed to find out where she could hit this guy to hit him hard. She, by this point, gathered she'd have to knock this sucker out in order to win. She could do that. Yeah. She was so lost in her thoughts that she almost didn't notice the large Saiyan man throw another punch her way. RIGHT. She moved to the right to dodge it, hopping up and down a bit before she went to through a few more jabs towards him. So body blows didn't seem to do too much to him, she gathered. She glanced up at him through her tinted lenses, one of her gloved hands reaching up to run it through her long, spiky hair. She had to make him mad somehow, she thought to herself, as she ducked under another of his punches. But how, she wondered as she glanced up to that head, the light sparkling off of it. Aha. It was like a light bulb of it's own, in that instant. "So, Northy. Imma call you Northy. How's it like being bald?" she'd ask with a chuckle, the larger Saiyan let out a growl at that and went to charge at her, trying to throw a fury of punches towards her, though Kaula simply weaved from side to side to avoid each of them before driving one of her fists straight for the large man's head. There was a pause as he started to stumble back, clearly dazed from the few headblows he took. Kaula wouldn't hesitate, she moved forward and went to bring her left hand up to SLAM it right into her opponent's chin again! His teeth clattered together and he slowly took a few steps back before falling right onto his back, out cold. Kaula kept that pose as the room finally went silent. It was a few seconds before Greasy Sal slowly stepped into the ring. He looked at North for a few moments before giving him a few kicks. By this time, Kaula had started to stand normally. The human looked from the totally knocked out male Saiyan to the small female Saiyan, almost in disbelief. "Wow. I'm shocked, yah know..? But I'm guessin' a deal is a deal. First off- DENISE, GET BACK IN HERE AND GET THE LADY SOME ATHLETIC GEAR!" he'd shout as Kaula started to take off her gloves. "Go get situated with dat, then we can start on yah form an' trainin'."
The young Saiyan had slowly walked back into the gym area, having changed and put up some of her stuff in one of the lockers. Now she was clad in tight-fitting short-shorts made out of black spandex with a matching sports bra. Both of which seemed to have some green accents. She also had some new green boots that seemed to go up to her knees and matching green boxing gloves. Of course, she had the scarf like she normally had. And, instead of sunglasses, she seemed to have some tinted sports goggles on. "Is it really necessary to.. Wear this..?" she grumbled. While she was in good shape, her dark mocha body seemed to be nice and athletic, with a nice mix of shapely where it counted.. She didn't always like her body being on display. "Oh yeah. The fans'll love it fer when yah fight, yah know?" he said. Kaula just grumbled as she put the gloves on, "So what is this training..?" she asked. "It's just trainin', ya know? Like punchin' bags. An' jump rope. An' joggin'. An' me givin' ya tips. Like.. Ya know, yah not as big as a lot of tha guys yah gonna be fighting, so yah know, you have to be a lot quickah then all of them. Be light on yah feet. Float around 'em and strike when the time is right!" he'd say. Kaula sorta rolled her eyes, "Yeah.. I already gathered that." she'd say, "Well la-dee-dah lady. Just so yah know, that's not the only tip I can giv-" he was cut off as Kaula raised one of her gloved hands, "I swear, you dirty goblin of a human. I will knock you out if you continue with that sentence." Greasy Sal went to raise his hands in defense, "Woah woah woah, pretty lady. No need to get all mad." he said as he went to wipe some swear from his forehead. "I don't even have yah name yet, yah know?" he said, staring at her. Kaula just stared at him for now before sighing, "My name is Kaula." "Well Kaula, let's get started on yah trainin'."
Kaula grunted as she ducked to the right, narrowly dodging one of the punches thrown at her by her sparing partner. He seemed to just barely catch her hair in the punch. Sweat was currently dripping down her brow as she took the opening and started to do a quick one-two jab at the man's stomach before following it up with an uppercut. She hadn't even been here a day, and she was already picking up on this stuff. The man, he seemed to be human with a tan complexion and sandy-blonde hair. He was only a few inches taller then her, too, went to throw a few more punches towards the short Saiyan. She raised her fists up to block before shooting one of her arms out to jab at his chest. "C'mon now. I'm totally new at this, and you're getting beat by a girl." she teased. The man clearly got a bit mad and went to try to throw some more punches at her, this left him wide open, which Kaula went to take advantage of, throwing a jab right at his left eye, causing the poor dude to step back, gripping at his face "Good hustle, good hustle girly. Give the poor guy a chance to catch his breath and do some jumpin' ropes now." Greasy Sal called out. She sighed, glancing at her opponent. Yeah, he had a few bruises on his abdomen and a pretty bad black eye, which she could now see due to him removing his hand from his face.. She should really watch what she does sometimes. Kaula slowly stepped out of the ring with a sigh, removing her boxing gloves slowly, tossing them to the ground as she grabbed a jump rope. Right. She could do this. She went to start it- oh wait, the rope got caught on one of her feet. She paused, just staring down for a moment before she stepped over it and went to start hopping again. Now she was getting the hang of it. She glanced towards Greasy Sal, who was eyeing some clipboard as he bit into a piece of fried chicken, "Right now Kaula, got yah all entered intah it. Yah'll have to likely fight some of tah toughest boxers in the South Capitol, so I hope yah ready for it." Kaula just let out a grunt in reply at first. "I'll be ready. Besides, is there some kind of prize for the winner?" she asked. "Mostly just braggin' rights. But if ya happen to win, I betchya I can find a way for yah to make some winnin' money. Either way, yah got a week. Keep trainin' hard little missy."
"Come on Kaula. The punch is mightier then the sword." Greasy Sal encouraged as the young Saiyan wailed on the nearby punching back. "Wham it! C'mon girl. One-two. Punch! Uppercut! Punch punch puuuunch!" he cheered out before Kaula took a few steps back. She had clearly worked up a sweat and was panting a bit before she looked towards the old human. Sure, she hated him, but he was good for motivation.
"Alright. Ninty-eight. Here yah go, c'mon girl. One-hundred!" the manager counted out as Kaula did sit-ups, the greasy middle-aged man holding her feet down, "You ain't done yet. A'hundred an' two. Hundred an' three."
"Yeah! Yeah, punch girl! Punch! Dodge! Counter!" the man shouted at the Saiyan, who was currently in the ring. She seemed to be training with another human this time. Her form had already greatly improved. It seemed like the blond-haired tan human who she had been fighting before was here for a rematch. He had gotten better, but he wasn't even close to Kaula's level now. He hadn't even landed a blow on her. "Smash him!" Sal called out as Kaula delivered a powerful uppercut to the man's jaw, lifting him off the ground and causing him to fall back onto the mat, out cold.
"Keep up. You can do it." Sal called out as he poked his head out of his auto-mobile. The fat-ass was driving at a slow speed along the road as Kaula seemed to be jogging along the sidewalk. Sure, she was fast, but this was a bit overkill. "C'mon girl. Only a few more miles. This ain't no time to be playin' around. Get serious, kid."
"I'm not sure about this.." Kaula would say from the other end of the tennis court, "It's gonna help yah dodge!" Sal called out from the other end as he pushed the third automatic ball thrower and positioned it towards her, "Yah ready kid?" "I don't th-" "Right! Let's go!" he said as he turned on all three of them, clearly at the highest setting. Causing Kaula to yelp out as she went to start weaving left and right in an attempt to dodge the tennis balls.. And likely get thwapped a few more times then she dodged.
"How exactly is this going to help..?" Kaula asked as she slowly stood upright. All the soapy water having got on her mostly exposed body as she was washing the fat-ass's cars on his car lot. "Oh. Yah know. Coordination. Yah ain't ever seen no martial arts movies..?" Sal responded as Kaula sorta just stared at him, slowly walking over to him. She stared at him before rolling her eyes a little bit before she felt that fat hand suddenly grope at her rear. Her eye twitched, "An' I was wantin' to see if yah'd fall for i-" he grunted as he got smacked with the sponge, "FUCK OFF YOU PERVERT!" Kaula'd yell out as she began to storm off, "Right, right. Sorry! Back to the actual trainin'!" he'd say as he stumbled to stand back up from his chair to follow after her.
"Yeah. Yah can do it, girl! C'mon, punch it harder. Hard an' fast girl, hard an' fast!" he'd say, Kaula back beating on the punching bag. She grunted some before taking a step back, "I got this!" she'd yell out as she charged forward with a powerful punch and, in a stereotypical training montage fashion, ripped the punching bag right off of it's chains so that it landed on the ground a few feet away. "Oh yeah. Yah got this, girl."
The week had passed. Kaula sighed as she went to stretch in the locker room, she was minutes away from her first serious fight. Sal had said that she had gotten a lot better, but.. Greasy Sal said that these people had been training for a lot longer then the week she had been training for. She sighed, reaching to pull off her normal clothes to start getting dressed. She had fights to win. In a few minutes, Kaula slowly stepped out of the locker room with a sigh. Yes, this was her time for glory in front of a crowd of people.. ..... In front of five people. It wasn't really a crowd. And she knew two of the people there, Greasy Sal and Denise. Other then here, there seemed to be several other boxers in in chairs nearby. She knew one of them, it seemed to be the other Saiyan before. He seemed different, the big lug with some awkwardly placed, neat hair on his head. She stared at him, but she decided to not pay much mind to the other ones. Sal grunted as he climbed into the ring, "Welcome fighters an' watchers to Greasy Sal's South Capitol Gym Tournament for Boxin'. We'll be startin' with the first fight shortly. I just wanted to say, that whoever wins will have the chance to get a decent amount of Zeni. Now, crowd. Are yah ready to see some boxin'!?" he called out, looking to the other four people. There wasn't really an outcry.. Other then Denise who held her arms up, "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" she yelled out. Fucking Denise. "Thank you.. Denise.. Anyway. Can Kaula an' Warrel, the two newcomers, get up here so we can get the first fight started?" Kaula shrugged, slowly standing up. And, nearby, a green person stood up nearby. Wait, what? that was new to her. Kinda. It was the first time she saw a Namekian in person. Dude was taaaaaall. Kaula moved into the ring, followed by him, as she put her gloves on once she got to the center of the ring. She glanced up at him for a moment before nodding. "Now I want a good clean fight, ya hear!?" Sal called out before stepping out of the ring slowly.
*DING DING*
The bell rang and the fight began. Right, she had no clue how to fight this dude. He was WAY too tall for her. Easily six feet, something. Still, Kaula raised her fists up, "Good luck." she'd say, "I do not need luck." the Namekian responded before going to throw a punch her way. She moved to the side to dodge before throwing a few quick jabs his way. She went to hop back a few times, huffing out as she looked at him. Right. She needed to test the waters. She needed to dodge his attacks. She had to find his weakness! The Namekian went to waste no time at all, starting to throw punches towards the half Saiyan, which she easily dodged. Seemed that the tennis ball exercise worked out, actually. Shame that hurt like a bitch. The Namekian continued to approach her, throwing more punches at the woman, which she easily either dodged or blocked. He took a step back when he seemed to get ready to throw a heavy uppercut at the Saiyan which she had narrowly dodged. Shame, though, he left himself wide open. Kaula took this and threw a few jabs at his midsection before crouching down. She then SHOT UP, lifting off the ground to deliver a forceful blow to his Jaw. She seemed to favor this, since it usually fucking worked for her. The Namekian didn't lift off the ground or anything. He just sorta stood there as Kaula began to back away. At first, nothing happened. The Saiyan went to look to Greasy Sal, shrugging once, right as he fell onto his back. The middle-aged man blinked and went to climb onto the ring, pausing as he approached the downed Namekian. ".. One.. Two.. Three." he began to count. Kaula took in a breath, sighing as she looked back to the other contestants, grinning like a little mischivos monkey. Some of them were shocked. Some of them didn't care. One was asleep. She shrugged as Sal finished his counting: "Nine.. TEN! And we have the winner of the first fight. Kaula!" he proclaimed. Denise went wild in the crowd. Kaula, on the other hand, went to climb out of the ring and take a seat while Warrel was pushed and pulled off of it. She had a chance for a break now.
The next fights varied, but Kaula sorta half-paid attention to them. It seemed the other Saiyan, the one she dubbed 'northy' had won his match with a single blow. Dude seemed piiiiiissed and was glaring at her a lot. She must have made him mad. Not only that but something seemed.. Different about him. But she couldn't place her finger on WHAT exactly seemed different, still. Other then Warrel, Kaula herself, and Northy; all the other contestants seemed to be human. And, unlike Kaula, they were all male. Regardless, Kaula half watched. Making notice of their stances. How they fought. How fast they were. Who was fighting who. Until it was her time to shine once more.
The Saiyan was called into the ring, causing her to sigh as she did. She was face to face with another human who seemed to be just as short as she was! She was watching him fight earlier, saw how quickly the man moved. This was the first time she had decided to take in how exactly he looked. He was a white male, dark hair. He seemed to have some stubble on his face, but other then that.. He seemed pretty young, only a few years older then Kaula herself. Kaula just grinned a bit, "Good luck." she'd say, the young man nodded, "You too, 'cause you'll need it." he said. Greasy Sal, that disgusting fatass, climbed back onto the ring, "And welcome to the semi-finals! Here we have the person who's only been trainin' for a week; Kaula!" Denise started clapping and cheering a bit. "She's amazin'.. AN' in the other corner, we have mah old student. Cheddar!" he'd say, the three other men in the crowd who were there would start whooping out loudly. "Hope ya two are ready." Sal said as he climbed back out of the ring.
*DING DING*
The bells rung again, the fight was off. Kaula had decided to strike first, throwing three jabs towards the similarly sized man. He had raised his hands up to simply block the blows before Kaula went to hop back. She let out a soft huff, eyeing the man who was slowly approaching her, his fists at the ready. Son of a bitch had a similar stance to her. Well, understandable, considering that she and him had both been trained by the same fatass. They both started to trade some blows. Each person taking a few hits. Each person dodging. Hell, they almost seemed evenly match. "Only one week, huh?" he asked as he threw a punch. Kaula stepped to the side to dodge it, growling out a bit as she threw a quick jab that caught the side of his face, "Yeah. Bit surprising that I'm kicking your ass, huh?" she teased. He just sorta laughed at that, "Please. I've been training with someone-" he threw another punch that caught Kaula in her gut, causing her to grunt loudly as she lost some of her breath, "-way better then that asshole. This is just a test before the minor circuit. I'll win this and the money, no problem." "Not if I have something to say about it!" Kaula exclaimed, throwing a hard punch his way and landing a solid hit right on the guy's face. He stumbled back, but she gave him no time to recover, starting to wail on his abdomen and chest before following up with another hit to the face, sending him sprawling to the ground. Sal came up and started counting. "One. Two. Three.." "Go ahead and stay down." Kaula said, glaring at him, "And if I get in this minor Circuit, I'll kick your ass there too." she said, staring the young man straight in the eye. He struggled to try to stand, but he seemed to have some trouble. "You just wait.." "Six.. Seven.." "I'll kick your ass there.. I'll let you have this.." "TEN! KAULA WINS SINCE CHEDDAR CAN'T GET UP!" he said before he moved towards the Saiyan girl, "You know, I don't have a problem getting up." he'd joke before going to nudge her. Kaula just turned to GLARE at the man, growling some. He backed off and the two fighters got off the ring. It seemed Cheddar had decided to leave with his buddies.
It was too easy of a fight, she thought. The kid clearly wasn't using all of his strength.. And this bothered her. Regardless, she idly sat there, in her own thoughts as Northy went to start his fight. The brutal male Saiyan simply throwing punches left and right at the other human. She should have been watching, thinking, planning. But she didn't. Smooth. Eventually that fight had ended and it was Kaula's time to get in the ring again. She blinked before moving to slowly stand back up from her seat. The cheers of Denise filled her mind as she climbed in and made her way to the center of the ring. She stared right at the male Saiyan, "Heya Northy, ready to get your ass kicked?" she asked with a cocky grin. Sal went to climb into the ring, glancing at the two of them for a moment. She was about to be in one of the biggest fights she's been in a while.
