The two brothers had arrived in the town, where the mission for the ruby's return was made. The town had been mediocre in size, but its streets were quieted with the clashing blows and scratching of whitened television screens and trans-receiving devices. Waputhi had not paid much heed, as he could simply feel the events out that happened Northeast. Pieter, though, made his way to a radio describing the events live.
"The fighters have been clashing for ten minutes now, decimating much of the downtown area, fighting at equal terms for some time now. For those of you who're tuning in, we're reporting live about the fighting happening in downtown at Eastern Capital City. It's been a very gruesome battle so far... Buildings being leveled, civilian lives lost, if not from the dangerous battle, then from damaged structures. Military has been issued to go into the area to rescue any persons living in there, but in small units due to the high octane battle going around. The fighters have been identified as a Appodorran noble and the wanted criminal Oguma Inugami, whose heinous actions occurred not long ago at the Centurial Zenith Tournament being held here at the Earth..."
Pieter clenched fist and teeth as he vivid images of Oguma flew through his mind. His power slowly rose up, immediately attracting his attention. Waputhi, feeling this, sprinted over to his younger brother and grabbed him by the tail, before his anger could get the best of him yet again! He told him, "Now now, brother... You must remain calm."
The power sapped away from Pieter's body upon Waputhi grabbing his tail. He felt nauseous and weak in the legs, as he staggered over. He looked at Waputhi, ordering him to let go of his tail, but Waputhi would not have anything of it. The beargle (bear+eagle) slung the wolf over his shoulder, maintaining grip on Pieter's tail as he did, and sprinted down the street to a jeweler's store. Waputhi released Pieter, letting him flop on the ground before walking in. Pieter groaned, as he felt the energy coming back to him! Agitation at Waputhi smothered the directed rage in a blanket of confusion.
"Damn it, Waputhi! What was that for," Pieter asked out loud, as he got off the ground. He looked inside, at his older brother and the employer chat, Waputhi putting on that warming smile as the did. Pieter, though, didn't find it warming, but rather agitating. Perhaps Waputhi was trying to soothe the man down, with the events happening in East City, but it just wasn't comforting Pieter.
Talon walked out, tell the owner, "She'll be fine, friend. If she's the way you describe her, then she'll only be shaken up. Don't be afraid to worry, but do patient."
"Mm... Al-Alright. I'll be patient. Thank you again."
Waputhi stepped out and looked at Pieter, holding a large bundle of zeni in his hand in front of himself for the wolf to see. It was a lot more than what Pieter saw his tribesman bring in for at least fifty bear pelts! He asked Waputhi, "Just how much was that ruby worth?!"
"Not a lot, compared to others the man sold. However, city and town folk do love their precious gems."
"I agree, but not that much," Pieter exclaimed, "That gem had to be, at most, worth f-"
"There's history with it," Waputhi interrupted, "Both nationally and personally. However, we've different matters to get to, Wolfbane."
Pieter leaned back a bit, hands to the side as he stated, "You've... Never called me by my title for some time. Last time was either in a hunt or- Oh no."
The color in Pieter's skin washed away, as the memories of his training with Waputhi and Pieter's father, Pota, washed over him... Painful memories. The kind that, when you remembered them, it felt like the damage had been done then and there! Pieter stepped back as he muttered, "Talon... No...! No!"
"Quit bickering. Follow now, Wolfbane. It is time we begin the next stage of saiyan manhood."
In Pieter's mind, he was thinking, "Oh god, called me Wolfbane again! Oh great serpent, he called me Wolfbane again! Oh great serpent, help me... OH NO! NO NO NO! Not father's training!"
Here's where I need to do a little 'expose' on Pieter's history, going back to his early childhood years and early teens. See, when Pieter was growing up, he had experienced several types of training to become what he is now. First off, he had to learn how to secure his own food, water, shelter, and how to find herbs for medicinal purposes. This was handled by the eldest of hunters at the time, which proved fine for him for the first few years, from years 4 to 8. However, after every four years after the tribe's version of training, there was something his father Pota called, 'saiyan manhood,' training. At the Age of 8, Pieter was put down this path, being 3 parts saiyan and only 1 part human. While not full blooded, he was still mostly saiyan, which meant he was qualified enough to embark down the path of 'saiyan manhood.'
When Pieter was taught how to manage his food, water, and supplies, his father taught him, "A saiyan warrior doesn't manage supplies. A saiyan warrior takes supplies, after rigorously beating the opposition into submission, either through killing them or forcing their surrender! Now charge over to your brother's fire and take his food!"
All the while, Pota would be eating food and looking at him with fury and power in his eyes to get the message across! Pieter would do this, get broken bones, as well as dish them out onto Waputhi and, when she was old enough, to Bay as well. Pota was proud of these children and their development! However, Pieter had been worrisome, as he never really used his tail often, causing him to wane to that famous weakness Saiyans were known for: Weak tails. Waputhi and Bai had strengthened each other out all over, eliminating their tail weaknesses at an early age, but Pieter never eliminated that weakness. Pota understood that he only grew the tail at age 8, he didn't want it to get hurt. However, Pota knew that, if he was going to keep the trail, he had better train it so it doesn't hinder him.
When Pieter was 16, after an event called, "The Monkeys of Karinga Battle," that left Waputhi scarred all over, Pota would begin his training. The training was mostly focused at Pieter strengthening his tail, but it also focused on Pieter trying to work with his siblings in a group. For a little while, Pieter was using his tail to do simple things, like carrying extra wood and supplies, but it never strengthened him enough to the point the weakness was removed. If it were not for the incidents, Pieter would've completed his training and eliminated his tail's weakness. However, the incidents deviated it and Pieter didn't gain the strength to accomplish it! So, Pota decided to leave it to Waputhi to finish this training of his, when the time came... And it had come now.
