In the deeper portions of the Paozu forests there exists a region that is far different from the edges of the wilderness. The trees, ancient by anyone's standards, have grown massive, sticking up out of the ground as if they hold up the sky. Their canopies are broad and suffocating, cutting off the sunlight from the ground below, leaving the forest floor in twilight even on the brightest of days. No sun-loving plants grow anywhere near these behemoth trees, instead only mosses grow thick on the trunks and earth, creating an eerie landscape of muted green in a twilit world. Needless to say but most humanoids avoided the place, but not just for the dim environment but for the creatures that made that area home.
Ancient forests also spring forth ancient beasts, rarely seen in the world except in these forgotten places, and in the deepest part of Paozu there yet lived Dinosaurs; the lizard tyrants, as well as Dire Wolves and Tigers and a hundred other predators. It was a viciously dangerous place for any human to come to, but Cel'Daren prided himself on going where he needed to in order to get his precious data for research. He was not one to merely sit in a laboratory waiting for his machines to crunch the numbers for him; no he wanted to be part of every step of the research from start to finish. So Cel'Daren sat at the base of a great tree, its roots so big and thick it had pushed the monumental sized tree up into the air nearly twenty feet, creating a space beneath it not unlike a cave. In that space Cel'Daren had placed his Capsule home, a home away from home so that he could survive in the wilderness for extended periods of time as he collected his sample. A dinosaur, in particular a Pterosaur which is a type of flying creature with a great wingspan and a nasty attitude, lay dead nearby, it's body having been apparently cut open.
Cel'Daren was kneeling over the dead beast, his fingers deftly pushing aside soft organs as he took samples of the creature with a specialized syringe-like device, storing away pieces of DNA and tissues for later study. His arm was covered in gore up to the elbow, and his labcoat was stained by the blood of the Pterosaur all down the front, but otherwise the man himself was completely unharmed and at ease; there wasn't even a drop of blood of his own spilled when he took down the dinosaur. Humming slightly as he worked Cel'Daren didn't notice the slow arrival of another powerlevel nearby until his scouter alerted him, the contacts in his eyes projecting a holographic image in front of him to give the alert. Looking up, Cel'Daren would look around to search for the thing that had alerted his scouter. He wasn't scared or worried, merely curious. That was his way.
”If you're a sentient and can understand me, feel free to join me. I'm about to make this lovely beasty into lunch, if you're hungry.” came his voice, full of confidence and calm. Cel'Daren wasn't exactly the strongest of fighters however, as he had applied to himself a formula that condensed and intensified his energy, letting him grow faster as a Ki user but prevented him from using most of his power. He could perhaps pull out around fifteen thousand standard units as he was, but Cel'Daren had yet to face a situation where such power was even needed, being such a calm and collected guy made most people not want to attack him in the first place.

TO BE BOUND BY WORDS AND HEART
This was deeper into the forest and mountains than she usually went. Durian generally stuck to more uplifting areas surrounding her and Levlidian’s home. They were supposed to leave for Namek, but delay after delay had hit them. A training session in the North. A surprise guest from his past. Not to mention fixing the ship itself that the man had torn through at revealing his Golden Warrior within. It made her smirk as she moved through the dark underbrush. For all the delays, she still wished to go to Namek. If not only because he said they would. That they’d have an adventure.
But for now, this would be her adventure. He was training Takeshii, or so she assumed. Possibly helping her build the house she so desperately wanted. Nothing was wrong with the female Saiyan. She just... wasn’t Durian’s friend. She was fine. They got along. And Durian would be there for her. But it wasn’t the same as having a friend assist you. Levlidian was that to her. Which left Durian time to deal with things on her own.
Darting through the darkness of the forest, weaving in and out of the plants and trees, it would remind her of a small mission she had months ago. She snuck through dark forests then too. Took down a sort of operation. It wasn’t the goal she wished, but it still occurred. Here, the goal was to hunt. Or to explore. She wasn’t quite sure what. But she was somewhat testing her abilities as well. She didn’t hide her ki as much. Letting it out more freely instead of constantly clamped down upon. She wondered if this was how Levlidian and so many others she met felt when they didn’t restrict themselves? It felt nice and a little refreshing. But she couldn’t help but think she was being a bit cocky. Regardless, she let it go for now. Trying to be at ease. What could she accomplish by staying out of sight and mind even if she let some of her power seep from her being?
Weaving through the darkness. By creatures and danger. She hadn’t struck for anything yet. Merely looking and moving. Her body didn’t catch much attention. She stayed as silent as she could muster. And her dark clothing helped. Mask over her face, black jacket buttoned for once over her torso, black slacks, even shoes and gloves. The one thing that could have given her immediately away was the hair. But, without the sun, the aura it could give off was dulled into the silvery strands anyone in this darker light might see.
Her interest had at one point come to a nearby power signature. One she could handle, or so she assumed. Fairly low, so her paranoia remained lower. In her dashing about the land, she had gotten closer. Closer to the signature and whatever it belonged to. To her surprise, she had barely got the man in sight before his voice would call out. She kept mostly out of sight and even came upon his back side. Not all that close as of yet and using trees and their roots for visual cover, she’d keep an eye upon the man that had offered her food. Food from a kill? Had he downed the large creature?
I am sentient. I may join you. But I’ll have to turn down your offer of food.
The words were mentally spelled out for the male she had in her sights. She didn’t sound hesitant, but did more so sound confident. However, she debated leaving. Should she really join this man and make herself known? She hadn’t expected to find someone out here and spend time with them. Just merely see what was happening.

The message was returned, albeit not by a vocal utterance but by a feminine voice speaking in his head. The woman had telepathy. Sentient indeed. Cel'Daren would extricate himself from the carcass, tapping a blood covered finger against a certain spot just to the right of his right temple, hitting air that reacted with a small blink of light. His Scouter HUD popped up, showing the last recorded Ki signature it had recorded, the woman who was now hiding hers from him. Just South of thirty eight thousand? Impressive. More than enough to crush Cel'Daren if she so chose. But sometimes that made the interactions more fun. In this very neck of the woods Cel'Daren had once met Reikiko, once of the strongest “women” in the galaxy. Talking to her had been incredibly interesting. Perhaps that boded well for this new interaction?
Cel'Daren would respond in kind to the woman's telepathic comments, his mental voice still filled with as much confidence and calm as he had when he spoke aloud, ”As you like. I am Cel'Daren Mithanil, and you do not need to fear me. I've no desire to harm anyone, and besides that your powerlevel is nearly double my own; you could crush me with little trouble if we came to blows.”
Perhaps that might shock the woman as she continued to conceal herself in the area; not many people were willing to admit that they were easy pickings for another. Cel'Daren was just that way however. He hadn't met someone he couldn't talk down from a fight, if only because he was so obviously such a non-threat to a real fighter. Of course covered in the Pterosaur's blood as he was that effect might be more than a little ruined for his guest. I suppose I ought to clean myself up and look presentable. Motioning with his hands Cel'Daren made as if to shake the blood from his hands and sleeves. Amazingly the blood did indeed come off, flung into the air like water off a dog's fur, the droplets of crimson hanging in the air for a moment before falling to the ground around the Bio-Engineer. That still left the front of his labcoat however, and Cel'Daren slipped it off in one easy movement before shaking it like a rug, more blood droplets flung into the air only to fall to the ground. When the man put his labcoat back on it was spotless, looking as clean as the moment it had been sold.
Straightening up the buttons Cel'Daren continued his telepathic conversation with the woman, ”I advise you to be mindful of the creatures in this area. Many are quite ferocious of course, but more deadly are the ones specialized in stealth...” Having said that Cel'Daren would direct his finger, newly done with his buttons, to a point in space off in the distance. Growling issued from where he had pointed as a Saber-tooth Tiger slowly floated into the place that Cel'Daren had chosen as his camp. It struggled mightily against the power that held it in the air, hissing and spitting at the man who slowly drew it closer. Just looking at the creature one could tell it was deadly. Large oversized fangs jutted from its upper jaw and its paws were huge, their claws easily large enough to cause lethal wounds in even the largest of Kabochan. The real shocking feature of the beast was however its apparent powerlevel; despite how obviously it took Cel'Daren effort to hold the beast in place its powerlevel would appear no larger than one hundred fifteen standard units. It was capable of hiding it's Ki level for maximum stealth, making it capable of hunting even Ki sensitive prey.
With one hand concentrating on the beast Cel'Daren would use his left to make a knife-hand slicing motion at the carcass of the Pterosaur, a great slab of meat neatly sliced out of the corpse. This slab of meat would raise into the air, and with a double-handed throwing motion both the meat and the Tiger were thrown directly away from the scientist, flung far into the distance until the gloom of the environment nearly swallowed them up. At that edge of vision both would touch down, the great cat taking up the meat and fleeing in a moment, giving Cel'Daren one last glare before it vanished.
With that out of the way Cel'Daren would return his attention to the Pterosaur, his hands making those same knife-hand cutting motions, the meat of the beast practically dissassembling itself into manageable chunks. He would give the environment one last look before he would give voice as he headed inside his home, the meat of the Pterosaur following him inside leaving just bones and skin behind, ”Please, join me. I've not had the pleasure of talking with a Kagami in quite a while. If you don't desire food, I can at least offer some fine tea.”

TO BE BOUND BY WORDS AND HEART
There was still hesitance to show herself. Even as he continued to muddle about. It took a few moments, but not long, before he’d reach back out to her. He spoke mentally and clear enough for her to hear. His choice of wording was strange... at least to her. Telling her not to fear him. That she could crush him. It wasn’t even calming to her, it just... was strange. Was he trying to lure her in for something? Or did he merely with to speak? Vision held that he had downed a large dinosaur and was having no trouble with it. He was covered in blood, but didn’t seem stressed. Unlikely his blood, she didn’t think he’d been injured either. It was just Durian’s way. More caution. Less... aggressive shooting in.
But apparently the blood would soon be taken care of. Flung off of him and his clothing like it didn’t stain or matter at all. Durian’s eyes widened at the sight. She’d never seen anyone rid themselves of the life’s liquid so quickly. So cleanly. It was almost terrifying. In an odd sort of way. He’d speak to her again soon, the Kagami still not at ease enough to obviously reveal herself. A part of her was doubtful she was actually hidden. That this man likely knew where she was but wasn’t pressing the issue. The fact that he brought up the dangerous animals being the stealthy ones... made her wonder all the more.
A well placed and unexpected attack is just as effective as one of pure strength.
Words she had said before. Words she said to Takeshii. Durian fully believed it and knew it well. It had fueled her escape from Vegeta. Stealth was an essential tool for those that couldn’t face the powerhouses that roamed the universe. She agreed with this man. And was all the more uneasy that he shared such knowledge. It would only go to prove his first statement to be less comforting than it sounded. If he gained her ease, he could gain surprise. Weaker or not, he could still end her if she left the opening.
His next display would put her more at odds. A saber-tooth. A large catlike creature. He had it confined and unable to attack. He whisked it about. Controlled its movements. The wide-eyes Kagami would look on. She still sensed the world around her, as she had no desire to be attacked by such a creature, but she was in awe of what she witnessed. The floating cat. The slicing of the meat so cleanly. Throwing off the large creature. And... even taking the dino down to bone. This man was like an animal himself. Moving closer while he was, at least she hoped, distracted by his own antics of throwing things around. She’d attempt to get closer to him. At least speak to him and see what he wanted. He didn’t seem aggressive... But possibly still trouble.
Entering more obvious eyeline, standing tall, the silver-haired female would begin a strong stride towards him, but on alert enough that he would know she wasn’t yet at ease in his presence. He would head inside the home of his, the Kagami walking towards the entrance as well. Once more, his voice would enter her mind. Not something that overall stressed her, but something certainly caught her attention.
Kagami
The red eyes of the female widened. Her steps stopped. She could feel the muscles in her body tense. How did he know what she was? Was it her ki that she hadn’t quite hidden as normal? Did he see her? Did he know her somehow? The unease had grown. More hesitance. And the urge to just flee was more and more upon her thoughts. Lev wasn’t here. She was alone. Could she really handle this man and possibly anyone else that entered the scene?
I’m more apt to decline. I didn’t realize my race was so obvious.
Her tone was more prodding. Possibly angry? Not quite irritated but something off. Something more forceful. She wasn’t pleased to be caught off guard.

The responses from the woman were filled with more suspicion and caution than Cel'Daren would have liked; the woman obviously had been given a hard life to be so withdrawn. Granted the circumstances were clearly not in favor of Cel'Daren being able to make friends with someone in this environment, and he realized that some of it came from his own actions as much as the environment itself. While the gloomy and ancient forest didn't lend itself towards polite greetings and sitting down for tea, Cel'Daren realized that his dealings with both the Pterosaur, which he had killed and basically cut into lunch-meat with telekinesis, and the Saber-tooth Tiger would be alarming to anyone who valued their safety. Telekinesis was a very potent and malleable ability; and in combat it provided a number of options that could mean a decisive victory. People were right to be wary of someone who possessed such a strong ability.
Still, Cel'Daren really did want to have a talk with this Kagami woman. He had only met one a single time before, and that person had been so full of anger and hatred for the Saiyans that he wasn't capable of polite conversation. Yet here was another chance to learn of the Kagami! To know more than what they looked like and what their racial abilities were. He could learn of their culture, their look on life, their real essence beyond the mere flesh. Cel'Daren was excited for the chance, and he gave another shot at tempting the woman to join him., ”Although opalescent silver hair and red eyes are not unique characteristics among the races of this Galaxy; their combination together with soft pale skin and a humanoid figure is. Please, I am a Bio-Engineer, Miss. It is my job to know the characteristics of the various races in hopes to making something new and exciting.
“Honestly I simply desire to learn more of the Kagami. I know your racial abilities but little else. I would speak with you in the hopes of learning of your culture and mindset. Please?” Cel'Daren would finish off his mental plea with an actual request. This was important enough to Cel'Daren for him to put aside his normal aloofness and make an actual request of someone, but of course it was still up to Durian on whether she wanted to join him. Cel'Daren only hoped that she would accept. In the mean time, Cel'Daren would move through three different rooms of his home from the front Foyer to the Dining room to the Kitchen, where he would begin the process of preparing the meat to be cooked. The front door of his home would be left wide open, and if Durian decided to enter she would find a lush and brightly lit domicile with gentle warm colors and luxurious furniture...

TO BE BOUND BY WORDS AND HEART
Hesitant and standing in the open air. The tall Kagami stood still. There were many parts of her telling her to turn around and head home. There were other curious parts that said to step forwards. The part she should more rely upon, her goddess, was silent. Nothing came from Mitra and Durian wasn’t about to ask. While it was a part of her being and race, and while she had new respect for the goddess, Durian didn’t particularly like giving up her own self to the entity. The man had vanished from sight and into his home, but Durian could still sense him. Moving about in his house without a worry and without hesitation. He was confident and unconcerned. Definitely not the attitude of someone who knew he could be pummeled. Was he hiding something?
The red eyes of the female looked over her shoulder. The way back just as enticing as any other direction away from the house. His words would enter her mind and she’d be more uneasy. So he had seen her. He noted her features. He told them to her. It made her more tense and the urge to leave came all the more. Having Levlidian as her own or not, she still was a coward. If he wasn’t there, she felt as weak as when she came to Earth. Useless, essentially. With irritation at that thought and the indecision on what to do with this dangerous man, Emer would come to mind. The Kagami that she had approached with hostility. She had merely done so on the whim that he wouldn’t hurt her because he was Kagami. A foolish thought, she’d think with a smirk. Relieving some of her tension and walking forward.
Asking for information can prove just as dangerous as anything else. Knowledge is a true weapon.
Another something she assumed he’d agree with. While the thought of bio-engineer made her shiver, she would realize that meant knowledge. He worked and utilized what he knew. Some people used their fists, but the mind was a dangerous thing often forgotten. She tried to put her hesitance aside. Tried to be more confident. She’d step into the home. Eyes searching the interior of the first room. Welcoming. Not unsettling. It didn’t put her much at ease, but at least she was no worse for wear.
Your home is lovely.
She’d comment. Two fold. A compliment as well as telling him that she had come in. Accepting his invitation, though possibly briefly. Moving through warm colors, lovely furnishings, it wasn’t like where she and Lev lived. Place built by rugged hand. A hominess to it with the knowledge of work and sweat being put into it from none other than Lev himself. This was different, yet not totally uncomfortable. Other than the reminder of years past. Those that owned her family were not of a lower standard. In fact... it could have been equally as lovely as this, the foyer and rooms she moved through. Finally resting her shoulder against a doorway as she found the man within her vision once again. He was going to prepare his food as he had said.
“Durian is my name.”
She’d speak, the red gaze settling upon him without malice, looking him over with this closer look she was given of his form. Here she was.

Durian would find Cel'Daren had already placed away most of the meat that he had taken from the Pterosaur, as she would walk into the kitchen just as he was closing what appeared to be a large freezer, a dense cold mist flooding from the opening before it slid shut under his guidance. However roughly two pounds of the meat was still left out on a cutting board on a counter that was placed in the center of the kitchen. Every appliance there was to do with cooking was present in one form or another in this kitchen, and someone could conceivably make food from any culture in the galaxy. As Cel'Daren turned away from the freezer he returned to the counter, first washing his hands in a deep basin sink before heading towards the cutting board. He nodded to Durian and gave a quick smile as he picked up a long straight edge knife and grabbed the nearest piece of meat, beginning to precisely cut it into thin slices that would be suitable for sandwich meat or perhaps to wrap around something else. It might strike Durian as odd that despite the clear level of skill he possessed with his telekinesis that he was still using a knife to cut the meat now, even though it was taking hundreds of times longer.
While he was cutting the meat Cel'Daren would speak, in his actual voice not in Durian's head, making some conversation, ”Are you sure you don't want to join me in my meal? I know Kagami don't eat meat, but perhaps you'd enjoy some Vegetarian Rice Pilaf with Stuffed Jalapenos on the side? Oh, how about some steamed Vegetables with a thick cheese sauce? I haven't quite decided what I want yet. Maybe as your entree you'll like something with that Umami flavor... I have it! A Potato and Mushroom Ravioli dish with a Broccoli Cream sauce.”
The idea had struck Cel'Daren so hard that he immediately decided that was what he was going to make as his sidedish no matter if Durian wished to eat with him or not. It was a fine healthy dish with lots of flavor and nutrients; a perfect choice to cut the slight fishy bitterness that Pterosaur meat had .(Fun fact: Pterosaurs were Seafood eaters mostly, devouring fish, mollusks, and certain crustaceans.) This would help round out the meal, provide an option for his vegetarian guest, and frankly taste great. Mithanil was glad he thought of it!
Of course preparing the extra dishes were going to take some time, so telekinesis would need to be utilized to keep it all on his original timetable. So, from the opposite side of the kitchen from the meat freezer another device opened up; this being a Capsule Pantry, your all in one storage for any foodstuff that didn't require cold storage. A trio of capsules were pulled from the rack and were clicked with a touch of Cel'Daren's intent, expanding with a sudden “pwoom!” into.... A large container of flour, a sack of potatoes, and a fully stocked spice rack. They touched down on the counter and Cel'Daren closed the first pantry to open up a new refrigerator next to it. Vegetable Fridge. From this were pulled fresh Portabello mushrooms (The recipe technically called for Porcino Mushrooms but he liked the heavier taste of the Portabello), Broccolo stalks, Onions, and unprocessed Oats. He was going to make this dish completely Vegan, and you could make a mild oat milk that was good for cream sauces to avoid Dairy.
Things began flying from the various parts of the kitchen towards Cel'Daren's location as he summoned up everything else he would need for the preparation of the meal. Pots, pans, collanders, mixing tools and clean surfaces. Yet within this little maelstrom of culinary activity Cel'Daren would still continue their conversation, looking as if he was still capable of focusing on everything at once without serious effort. ”Please, feel free to have a seat if you like. I'd love to hear anything you'd like to tell me about yourself or your people. Especially culture. I would desire to know more of the Kagami culture.” Cel'Daren didn't give a smile, likely concentrating on his whirlwind of cooking, but he did at least give Durian a look and a nod before turning back to his cooking, ravioli dough already being formed at the same time that Portabello mushrooms that had just been cleaned were being chopped up with a clean knife..

TO BE BOUND BY WORDS AND HEART
The kitchen was quite amazing. It had been a long time since she had been in such an extravagant and fully stocked one. Upon Vegeta, her masters had the luxury of such things but since she had left there hadn’t been access to such a thing. The Kagami leaned against the doorframe and watched the male with a bit of interest. Not only his movements, but also him himself. Getting a better idea of who or what this man might actually be. Dark flesh. Markings upon that skin. Pointed ears. Long white hair. The Kagami wasn’t quite sure if he was a race that she wasn’t aware of, a Saiyan, of this planet... Her knowledge was not as vast as this man seemed to have boasted.
Each movement was intricate. Precise. There wasn’t wasted movement or energy in what he did. The blade he held wasn’t utilizing a technique, he merely functioned. That was what made it all the more impressive. The intricacy of the body. The red eyes of the Kagami remained focused and after what little she had said, she’d remain silent. Watching and observing him was good enough for now. Didn’t he want to speak to her about her race?
The offer for a meal came again, which would obviously show a small bit of surprise in the red eyes of the female. Her expression was more hidden as a whole due to the mask covering her face, but he would likely be able to glean enough. He was giving her many options and trying very hard. With a bit of hesitance compared to his excitement, the woman would give a nod.
“If you’d like me to join you, then I’d be happy to.”
Taking his invitation, as long as he still desired her company. Pushing off the frame with her arm, she’d stand straight. Even at her fairly tall height, the man had a few inches on her. He’d activate his ability then. Things flying about the kitchen in his haste. Did she throw him off and inconvenience him? It hadn’t been her intention.
“Would you like help?”
She asked, wary to enter the kitchen in case a stray tool or food might decide to strike her. Things were moving from all about and towards the dark-skinned male. He was working with seemingly no care. While she didn’t wish to interrupt, she felt rude for being his inconvenience. Still, she’d wait for an answer. No need to intrude if he was happy as he was. He’d soon speak that she could sit and he wanted her to tell him of her culture.
“Our culture? What used to be ours alone has been lost to the past and is merely stories that we might hear from those older than us. Kagami culture now is intermingled with that of the Saiyans... Our existence nearly depending upon theirs.”
There was a bit of bitterness in her words, but she wouldn’t shy away from looking at the male. What could she tell him? Was some of it dangerous to reveal to a stranger? Was he just looking for something to weaken her to take her out? Trying to find alternative motives for the one chopping up food as she thought, she’d once again walk the intricacy of his movements.
“Most are slaves. Some are taken as lovers for our strength is real. Just not always admitted. Some move into the military of the Saiyans, though we’re still garbage to them. And... then there are those who escape.”
Her. She escaped. And now she needed to work to help her kind... She hadn’t lost sight of it. Just had found a new way. A less destructive way.
