This day started much like the others. Gira got up, got ready for school, and then went to class as normal. At lunchtime though, Gira caught notice of several police cars zooming down the street. Of course, Gira would get into costume as the Watcher of West City and see if she could help, but she got a bad feeling about what was going on. There were too many police cars for this to be your run-of-the-mill criminal. Excusing herself from the table outside where she and Kaci were sitting, she went back inside the school and grabbed her bag, hiding out to change. Once she tied the belt around her white trench coat, the teen ran out the nearby side door and flew into the sky. Once she was in the air, she could clearly see what the buzz was about.
On the outskirts of the city, she could see a massive shape inching ever closer. It was a humongous T-Rex. "My god..." Gira mumbled. She had seen dinosaurs and even these kind of dinosaurs before, but this one was easily twice as big. If it made the next quarter mile to the city, it could cause some serious damage and kill lots of people. This was it. This was what all those bank robbers and kidnappers were preparing her for. Gira looked ahead in determination. The hybrid knew this day would come. She was ready. She was sure of it. Wasting no more time, Gira zoomed ahead to intercept the monster before it reached the city. It appeared that the police were keeping their distance just inside the city. Good. Gira didn't want to worry about protecting them while she was trying to fight this thing.
Gira stopped a few dozen yards away from the beast. "Get out of here! Go!" The teen decided to try and shoo it off before resorting to violence. Criminals were one thing, but this was an animal probably just looking for food. She didn't want to hurt it if she didn't have to. Unfortunately, it appeared that it would come to that. The dinosaur ignored her shouts completely, staring at her and licking its lips hungrily. "Okay, don't say I didn't warn you! Watcher Cannon!!!" Gira thrust her palm out and fired a basketball sized orb of blue ki at full power towards the creature. It created a large explosion on impact. "Sorry. You left me no choice." Just as Gira finished speaking, she had to dodge the great maw of the creature as it came through the smoke from her attack.
"Damn! You're a tough one, aren't ya?" Gira circled around the creature in the air and went for a back attack, but it seemed that the T-Rex wasn't big and dumb, it was big and smart. As Gira circled around, the creature swung its massive tree trunk-sized tail at the teen, smacking her in the back and sending her flying across the field as she cried out in pain. Gira fell to the ground and rolled a few times before righting herself and ascending a couple dozen feet into the air. She groaned and tried to rub the spot on her back that got hit. "You're a lot stronger than I thought. I might be in trouble here." Gira chuckled nervously and looked behind her. The city was close. No matter what, she had to stop it here. Little did she know, the blow from the creature dislodged her tail from the spot down her pant leg, and it was now sticking out of the back of her costume.
