Hello all, as those who have threaded with me recently probably know, I've been really busy lately. This is probably only going to get worse over the following weeks, though I'm not 100% sure. On top of this, I just don't have fun writing my characters anymore, usually because they are so boring an uninteresting, at least to me, probably because I don't have the skill to expand them to my satisfaction. Not trying to stir up any drama or anything, but I'll let you know in a couple of days what the verdict is.

You get better with observant practice. You observe things you like, try to pick it apart, and improve yourself by applying its qualities to your own writing. That's how I see it, anyway. Of course, that requires you to actually write to improve.
You're writing is fine, but if you're not enjoying yourself that's another matter entirely.
I would say keep rolling characters until you find someone you REALLY like to write for. Make a character thinking about what kind of activities or exchanges you would enjoy to have with other characters.
Might help to give insight. When I made Noxa I wanted to make a character that could interact with everyone; approachable in the surface, but repulsive at the core. Someone who could stir up things later on, create activity for herself and other people. Villains are usually the catalyst for activity, after all.
Victoria & GiGi are both derivations from characteristics I enjoy role playing. GiGi is dumb, goofy, with a hint of seriousness. Victoria tries to be charming and sophisticated, while also having the potential for darker actions.
Find something you like, stick with it, and you'll get better.
Your IRL is another matter though. Best of luck with it!
