Silence followed after Celmaru confirmed that he was half-Saiyan. Beryl stared at the spiky-haired male – the arctic breeze nipping at the three’s cheeks and noses. “I figured you had some Saiyan in you. Don’t worry; that’s not a bad thing,” Beryl said, hands still nestled in his pockets. He was still doing his best to keep warm; while he wasn’t a typical human strength wise, he still wasn’t immune to the cold or heat. “After all, you did notice that power you managed to unlock just now, right?” Hopefully, Celmaru would know what Beryl was talking about. “Just think if you’d be able to summon that same power whenever you needed to. You know – the same thing would happen to me too. It wasn’t as strong as yours, but it was still something. It mostly happened whenever I was in desperation though, not necessarily anger.” Then again, Beryl just assumed that most Saiyan transformations were triggered by intense emotion, mostly anger or age. “Still, I’m glad that I was able to spar with you, Celmaru. I’m sorry for any inconveniences that I might have caused, but this was still a good workout for me. Plus, it’s always nice for me to see other peoples’ fighting styles. I feel that it helps me learn new things – things I can use to develop my own style.” With that, Beryl took a few steps forward. Celmaru might’ve seen it before, but pinned to Beryl’s coat was an ornate, golden badge fashioned in the shape of the Galactic Patrol’s symbol. On top of the symbol itself was a fancy crown studded with expensive gems. “If you don’t mind me asking, can you explain me to what kind of person Phae is?” The dark-skinned human looked the seaweed-like woman over. “Because I’ve never seen a person like her before. I know that Earth has plenty of interesting species other than Zoanthropes.” His mouth twisted. “She looks human, but she isn’t, right?”If the information was too sensitive, then Beryl had no intentions of questioning further. “This might be a random question, but have you trained under heavy gravity before?”Celmaru Waterfield

Celmaru felt relieved that Beryl didn't particularly mind his Saiyan heritage, however his discomfort still remained. The hybrid kept his arms folded, as Phae began to poke at his frame. He shrugged her off as he listened to Beryl speak. The Human mentioned the power that Celmaru held within him; his Potential. Scratching his head, the hybrid replied in kind. " I know of it...its an odd kind of power enhancement. It never comes when I want it to, just when I need it to. However...I'm not exactly complaining." He never truly needed a transformation as of now, nor did he exactly require it. Celmaru wasn't one to face major threats of the universe head-on, much less at all. Phae was the real threat to him now, however that opinion would be soon changed drastically. Shaking his head to dismiss the thoughts of his Hidden Potential, Celmaru took note of what Beryl was stating, mentioning how his potential wasn't as potent as the hybrid's was back when he had needed it. However, his interest peaked once Beryl mentioned learning from others; viewing their styles of combat, using the observed knowledge to develop his own fighting style. The Human took several steps forward, and Celmaru nearly flinched from it; he was still on edge for some reason. Clenching his fists underneath his folded arms, Celmaru listened to Beryl as he mentioned Phae....and who she was. Not having a single desire to explain much, the hybrid hastily replied. " .....She's a guardian spirit for my family...somehow an elder named Ayumu procured a physical body for her...and she forced herself onto me and I was forced to marry her against my will..." " It was a beautiful day~" " Not really.....actually, not at all!" Before the couple could begin arguing again, Beryl interjected, asking Celmaru if he had ever trained under intense gravity. A few uncomfortable memories resurfaced, but the hybrid pushed them away, back into the depths of his mind; never to be expected to be seen again. Finally dismissing the ancient memories within his mind, the hybrid answered Beryl's inquiries about his training. " I have...however it wasn't anything impressive. I nearly died as a child under times ten gravity, and so I've only trained in about five or less..." Celmaru hasn't used a gravity chamber in 6 years, and didn't bother using it since. The world itself seemed more effective at this point. Phae, meanwhile, was affectionately nestling her head against Celmaru's arm, grasping it tightly. She didn't want him to escape this time, however Celmaru was already paralyzed by her sudden affection. The hybrid's face was beet red already, burning his facial features from the excess blood that was building. Clearing his throat, the hybrid attempted to add to what he had recently said, but failed to do so out of his embarrassment. Hopefully Beryl was told enough from Celmaru's answers, but for now he was semi-preoccupied with Phae...again. Beryl Roarke

Celmaru’s description of the wildly potent power resting deep within him affirmed Beryl’s suspicions about the power’s actual identity. Since Celmaru was half-human, Beryl assumed that Celmaru inherited the ability to unleash a sudden burst of power while under tremendous stress from his human parent. After all, Celmaru did just witness his seaweed wife being curb-stomped into a bloody mess and her arm getting lobbed off. Needless to say, Beryl still felt bad about putting Phae through such physical torment, but to be fair – the spooky lady was trying to shank him with bits of sharpened seaweed. “She’s a family guardian?” Beryl repeated, taken off guard by the sudden realization. The skepticism quickly faded; Phae clearly had supernatural abilities, and they were mostly likely not limited to seaweed manipulation or physical regeneration. Of course, the couple started bickering again once Celmaru claimed that Phae forced him to marry her. Arranged marriages were still a thing, but Beryl was confused about how someone could essentially be forced to marry someone who was literally made of seaweed (as far as he knew). Thankfully for him, he wouldn’t have to find out. The argument broke up when Beryl asked Celmaru about gravity training. The hybrid had experienced it before, though it almost ended in his death, and it was only at nine ten times normal gravity to boot. The Galactic Patrol leader rubbed his chin in contemplative thought. “Ten times normal gravity, huh? I know this may sound crazy, but I think you should start training under heavy gravity from now on. Work your way up into increments of ten. It sounds insane now, but trust me when I say that you’ll benefit immensely from gravity training. It’ll start out slow at first though, but don’t get discouraged. Just maintain a consistent schedule; oh, and be sure to not train more than twice a week under high gravity unless you want to destroy your body.”It was a lot to digest, but Beryl hoped that he was giving decent advice. Noting that Celmaru was once again occupied with Phae, the dark-skinned human began to turn on his heels. “I’ll leave you two to your business now. It was nice meeting you two. Celmaru – be sure to keep up with your training. I’m very interested in seeing how you’ve grown from this meeting to our next.” Calmly, the well-dressed adult began to walk away, soft snow crunching from underneath his shoes. “Until next time, Celmaru. If you need to get in contact with me, don’t hesitate to call the Galactic Patrol.”Celmaru Waterfield

" Hm? I should?...I can only apologize before I say this...but Beryl, do you think I can concentrate on my training with this in the way?!" The hybrid gestured towards Phae, another flustered blush appearing upon his facial features. The seaweed woman was attempting to nestle up against the hybrid, unintentionally pressing her bosom up against him. The partial chill of the peak of Mt. Paozu didn't seem effective as Celmaru's facial expression became beet red, rushing blood to his face. However, Beryl began explaining of how Celmaru should continue his gravity training, and the basics of its use. Progressing in increments, starting at times ten, only training under gravity twice a week, etc. The hybrid had only heard a partial amount of this information from his Father, and even then, he was rusty on the details; this was a pleasant refresher from those days. The hybrid forcefully pushed away Phae as he listened to Beryl speak, his mind remembering the days of his brief gravity training. " Well, thank you, Beryl, for recommending gravity training for me....however I'd hope to train a bit more outside for the time being. I hope to become stronger before I force my way through gravity training again....it has been a few years, sure, however I don't believe that I'm strong enough to be able to efficiently train within such conditions..." Celmaru wasn't confident in his ability to endure intense gravity, however Phae thought otherwise, speaking up before the hybrid could formulate any more pessimistic ideas. " You're truly strong enough, Celmaru! I know you can endure such a task." " I don't need any remarks from you...you were injured because of you mindless urge to assist me." " But husband-" " I told you not to call me that!" The hybrid didn't appreciate Phae's efforts, as he stubbornly believed he could handle them on his own. However, as the Galactic Patrol leader turned on his heels, and took a brisk stride to leave, he mentioned the pleasure of meeting the hybrid, along with another note of his organization; the Galactic Patrol. Celmaru, pausing for a moment to register the remark, briefly waved his goodbye to Beryl as he left, with the snow crunching beneath his feet. " See you around, Beryl. It was a pleasure meeting you, as well....I guess. I do hope to see you again, Beryl, maybe next time we could properly spar at an even playing field!" Celmaru would have no idea how close he would be to the Human once they meet again, or even how far the hybrid would go with his power. Regardless, the hybrid Saiyan would simply wave stiffly until the Human was out of sight, then turned towards the open, snowy peak to continue his training. However, Phae had other, more proactive ideas; those that the hybrid didn't appreciate. " Husband~...we're alone~" " Phae, don't you dare!" " Chuu~" "Wha-?! I didn't ask for you to do that!" " Does it matter? A wife must love her husband~" " Stop that!"
