For a moment, Beryl thought the whole chokehold and throw was a little overkill. Chili connected with the wall with the force of a meteor; a loud, shattering boom echoed through the outdoors training area, causing nearly everyone in and outside of the facility to jolt, startled. As Chili struggled to regain his composure, Beryl waited in silence, paying close attention to the young Zoan. The fact that the young dog was still conscious was incredibly impressive; had Chili been any weaker, that throw would’ve been able to knock him out cold completely, perhaps even seriously injure him. “He has a lot of willpower; that’s for sure,” Beryl pondered, eyebrows lifting in pleasant surprise once Chili finally managed to stand up on his feet. Chili even had the fire to coax Beryl forward, challenging him to do his worst. Beryl blinked, not necessarily expecting such a statement considering the circumstances, but the confusion was replaced with genuine admiration. Well, since Chili asked for it, it was only fair that Beryl obliged. One second, Beryl was standing there, hands in his pockets, stance lax. The next, he was already en route to Chili, legs propelling him forward in a powerful sprint. His hands preemptively clenched into tight fists; while he was at full power during his approach, upon reaching Chili, Beryl suppressed his power, just enough to where he was roughly equal with Chili’s strength. He then threw a series of rapid-fire, yet accurate punches – the intent to get Chili to trade blows with him. The dog would notice that Beryl was holding back tremendously, but even so, it’d still take plenty of effort on Chili’s part to defend himself. Chili Pepper

Chili's eyes watched Beryl and continued to watch him before the man broke into a sprint and approached the recovering canine very quickly. The gap closed as they were within arm's length of each other now and the dog almost stepped back before a flurry of tightly clenched fists was thrown at him. The Zoan had asked for it, and he was getting it.
He didn't sway though and would meet this attack head on, but dodging was out of the question. His body still sore from being tossed against the wall for the time being, his movement was limited. Chili's eyes were shocked though, he could follow these strikes unlike the one before.
His arm launched forward and with a gust of wind his knuckles met Beryl's. The red coated pup was punching the Galactic Patrolmen's punches with his own. Their dukes were in a duel as one after another after another of these blows were slammed together with sheer force. It was a dance for certain, a dance that grew weary.
Chili began to tire out having already bounced his body off a solid wall, his exhaustion meant a stray strike got through his defense and smashed into his face knocking him from his feet and back towards the wall again. This one had nothing of the strength of before however. It dazed Chili for a moment, but he spun around in the air and landed on the wall with his booted feet. He leaped off the wall with all his might as quick as he could and launched back at Beryl. Gnashed canine teeth, his intent to headbutt the dark skinned human right in the gut.

Chili was doing extremely well! It wasn’t an easy task to keep up with Beryl in close-quarters combat, especially since that was what Beryl specialized in. Every punch Beryl threw, Chili met it with a punch of his own. As their fists collided, blasts of wind exploded from the force of the impact. It went back and forth, their forms nothing more than muddled blurs as the two fighters were locked in a high-speed fistfight. All the while, Beryl calmly analyzed Chili’s fighting style; while the Zoan wasn’t the biggest fighter around, that didn’t undermine his strength and endurance one bit. Plus, the little guy was speedy, another boon that Beryl could help strengthen through intense, specialized training. Eventually, Chili’s guard faltered. The dressed-up Zoan ate a punch directly to the face, and the impact sent him flying across the training field, right back towards the same wall he crashed into before. Beryl drew his fist back towards his body and awaited Chili’s reaction. Would Chili just smash into the wall again, or would he be able to stop himself and turn his compromising situation into an advantageous one? In an impressive show of acrobatics, Chili flipped through the air mid-flight, reorienting himself so that his feet connected with the wall rather than his head. Beryl lifted his eyelids in surprise; it was a smart and unexpected maneuver! Even more, Chili was now barreling towards him, fangs bared as he slammed Beryl right in the stomach with a fierce headbutt. Beryl wheezed as the air was pushed out of his body. The headbutt sent him skidding backwards in a kneeling position. However, as Beryl skidded backwards, he reached for a small pebble and chucked it Chili’s way. It looked like a random, pathetic attempt at an attack, but it was anything but, and it packed enough power to send Chili flying as well if it hit. PL - Suppressed to 25,000. [N1] Improvisation used.

Chili landed back on his feet and huffed, that punch did hit pretty well but it appeared so did his headbutt. He spread his feet and got back into stance again as Beryl looked like he was recovering. The pup would spit onto the training floor as his cheek swelled a bit.
A whip of Beryl's wrist sent a small chunk of stone flying at the dog, Chili's eyes saw it as it closed distance. It would look pathetic but Chili had just been implanted into a wall not too long ago by this same guy who suddenly was only toe to toe with him? This seemed a little confusing, but how could Chili be sure this attack wouldn't put him in a wall either.
He decided dodging it would be the best case scenario and he leaped out of the way with his super speed. It wasn't as quick as he thought though and the pebble managed to clip him in the boot and sent him spinning in the air and ending the dog up on his rump. He'd skid to a stop and look up at Beryl as he rubbed at his ankle. "I knew it! You're not using your full strength or something are you Mr. Beryl?" the dog would ask with shaded eyes as he stared down the galactic patrolmen from across the training ring.

Beryl hummed in approval as he watched Chili avoid the pebble. It was a smart move, considering that even a grazing blow managed to throw the puppy off-balance as he soared through the air. The Zoanthrope fell onto the ground flat on his butt — eyes darkening as he stared at Beryl from across the training area. Beryl blinked once Chili demanded to know if he was really using his full power or not. After a short sigh, Beryl answered; he figured that it would be a matter of time before Chili noticed that he wasn't going all out. "No, I'm not," Beryl admitted. "I'm sorry. I did not mean to insult you. Would you like me to use my full power instead?" At that point, Beryl let his power return into its maximum. There was no visible indication of it and since Chili couldn't sense ki, he'd be relatively oblivious to the change at first, but once Beryl moved, Chili would immediately have an idea about how much Beryl was holding back. The Galactic Patrol leader took a single step forward; after that — he charged. His speed was incredible, enough to give the illusion that whenever he moved, his form became a muddled mass of color. He stopped right in front of Chili, ready to attack. However, it wasn't a punch or an elbow that came. It was a poke with a finger. However, the finger poke had enough force behind it to send Chili sailing through the air like a dressed-up ragdoll. The power behind the poke wasn't enough to kill, maim or cripple, but a direct hit would probably be enough for Chili to call it quits. Or not. PL -- Raised back to 2,473,488. Chili Pepper

Chili smirked a little and mentally patted himself on the back for noticing the power discrepancy in this fight. With how the attacks had gone so far, the power was certainly fluctuating. The pup eyeballed Beryl as he decided to demonstrate his true power, however like it was pointed out Chili still lacked the ability to sense Ki. That Celmaru guy had mentioned it though when they first me-
Chili's thought was suddenly cut off when the Galactic Patrolmen suddenly melted across the room in a blurr of speed. The dark skinned man suddenly looming over Chili as the Zoan could only gawk, his mouth dropping open as he hadn't even seen a step, to him it was almost teleportation. Then an extended finger thwacked him in the nose.
The immense power of the blow smashed the Zoan back up off the ground and towards the same wall he had already been implanted in, this time however he wouldn't be embedded. This time the canine smashed right through it and skidded to a stop. "What?!" he thought to himself "WHAT?!" he shouted as he climbed to his hands and knees and stared at beryl through the now gaping window. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" came another shout before the dog collapsed into the dust.
His eyes would still look through the new hole in the wall "No wonder you're leading the Galactic Patrol..."

It all played out just like Beryl expected. Although the collateral damage made it seem like the poke was extra painful, the Galactic Patrol leader held back just enough to where Chili would be able to retain consciousness. After the puppy screamed and hollered in disbelief, Beryl strode forward, hands in his pockets. He looked the Zoanthrope over; bits and pieces of the wall were scattered around Chili, and the sudden ruckus drew the attention of the rest of the facility’s visitors. “I suppose it’s good to know that I’m somewhat qualified for this job,” Beryl commented, offering a hand towards Chili. He wasn’t just going to let the Zoan lie there flat on his back. “I hope you realize how much power you have, Chili. With some guidance and some specialized training, you can easily be one of the strongest fighters out there.” It wasn’t every day that someone so young held so much fighting power, and it wasn’t like he was a Saiyan, Arcosian or any other kind of alien either. He was an Earthling – the race notorious for being the weakest species in the known galaxy. “You’ve passed the test. Welcome to the Galactic Patrol,” the human said, nodding in approval. “Are you alright though? I hope you didn’t get too hurt from just now.” Chili did just go flying straight through a reinforced wall. “Anyways, I can give you the details about how the Galactic Patrol works, unless you want me to just give you a quick overview right now.” Beryl glanced towards his right; there was now a crowd of people huddled around the gaping hole in the training area’s wall. They all stared with wide eyes at the two fighters. Beryl sighed and lifted up a hand. “Sorry about the wall. I’ll cover the repair costs.” It was the least he could do; the damages were his fault after all. “Anyways, do you have any questions right now, Chili?”Chili Pepper

Chili looked up at the outstretched hand, placing his paw into it and struggled to his feet. The pup sat up on his knees and wiped his brow. "Thanks" he let out in a sigh as he looked at the devastated wall around him and the gathering crowd. His head snapped back to look at Beryl as he addressed him.
His eyes would give away the dog's delight from the praise, his tail doing the same as it wagged behind him. "Really? One of the strongest? You think so?" the news pumping him up a bit as he jumped to his feet. "I mean it's nothing compared to you though Mr. Beryl, your power is unreal. You're going to have to tell me how you did that hiding your power thing." he added with a nod.
This was packed on with the confirmation that Chili was now in the Galactic Patrol, just like his Dad! The pup gawked at his new mentor, and for a moment his eyes grew wet with emotion. Tears formed, his dad would have been elated and so proud of his son. They were quickly wiped away by a red sleeve.
Chili stuck out a paw and gave the Galactic Patrolmen a thumbs up "Yeah! I'm fine! I been knocked on my butt a few times. I'll get over it." the Zoan said as he looked up at beryl with a big grin. Before he rested his hands on his hips.
His ears perked and he stroked his chin "Oh well I guess I'd like to know everything, but we always have time for that." the dog pondered as Beryl assured the replacement of the wall. The dog would tap his foot in thought before he was spoken too again. "Questions?" he asked as he looked up at the sky "...When do I start?" the pup joked.
Then a very serious expression plastered across his face "OH. Uhm..." the red coated canine turning to look at Beryl, his face looking like he had spotted a spectre "Will I need to have my parent's approval... I'm not sure if my mom would give that... heh..."

Chili’s sudden emotion was understandable; he appeared to be very passionate about the Galactic Patrol and now that he was a member, he could do exactly what he wanted to do: keep the galaxy safe and hopefully find the whereabouts of his long lost father. Humming, Beryl rubbed his chin after Chili asked if he needed to consult with his mother before being allowed to fully join the Galactic Patrol. “If you want me to speak with your mother, I can. Since you aren’t eighteen, I’m already making a special exception allowing you to join. You do know there’s a lot of danger with this position – deadly danger.” His goal wasn’t to scare Chili; it was just to make the Zoan aware that injury, maiming and death were always a possibility. “However, given the power that you have, I don’t think you’ll have to stress about that too much. I believe it’ll be best if I’m able to speak with your mother though.” Beryl patted down his shirt. “You can get as strong as me with just consistent training, Chili. As a matter of fact, have you ever trained under heavy gravity? That’ll get you up to my level extremely quickly if you keep up with it. You can use the gravity machine that’s in my ship if you want. I’ll show you how to use it and everything.” The Galactic Patrol leader then looked off to the side for a brief moment. “As for how I’m hiding my power, I’ll show you how to do that as well. Trust me – if I can learn it – you can learn it. You’re able to discharge ki from your body, correct?” Given Chili’s power level, Beryl assumed so. It was a rather basic skill to have – one that Beryl wasn’t able to do at all no matter how hard he tried. “If you don’t have any other questions, do you mind if I speak to your mother right now? It’d be nice to keep her informed about all of this. Plus, I feel she’d like to know the new information concerning your father as well.” With that, Beryl motioned for Chili to lead the way if he so complied. “Then, I can show you around my ship if you want.”Chili Pepper

Chili's face drew a look of determination, as he clenched his fist and held it to his chest. "I know it is Beryl, Sir, uh... Beryl Sir. But I'm ready for it" the pup agreed before his face softened "Oh thanks heh, I wish I could be stronger though. I keep running into people who are so much stronger."
The dog turned his face up to Beryl "Training under heavy gravity? I don't think I've ever heard of that Sir, I've heard of weight training though. Is it like that?" The red coated canine jumped "Oh really? I can train with you?! That would be great!"
He raised his ears and nodded his head before sticking his paw out and focusing energy into a small ball. "Yeah I can, sorta. I'm still getting the knack of it" he scratched the back of his head abd laughed "I ran into someone named Raisu a while ago who told me about it."
The dogs face got a bit nervous as his mother was brought up again. "S-Sure Mr. Beryl... My house is here in the city but... we could call her unless talking to her face to face would be better?" The pup shrugging his shoulders as he walked out in front of the human.
The pup looked down at the ground "I just hope she says yes..." he said into the dirt.
