The young arcosian boy sat dangerously close to the peak of a Yunzabit mountain. He was white, and the entire structure was coated in a thick layer of snow, so it would be quite hard for any normal person to see him. Not that normal people typically hung out on freezing mountaintops. It was cold enough to kill someone up here! And the 7 year old was just fine with that. He sat in silence, sniffling quietly, a few tears welling up and being forced back down periodically. The poor child was missing something! He wiped at his eyes, and the tiny child put his legs up to his chest and hugged them, resting his chin on his knees. His large eyes squeezed shut painfully and he buried his head in his arms. He whimpered to himself, becomign upset at his own emotions, which simply furthered his problem. He wrapped his tail around his ankles, trying to become as small as he could.

[Thread PL: 39,646] [SU] Liquid Ki - Mist Active! Ki suppressed to 5000]
Speaking of irregular individuals someone mumbling could likely be heard nearby "Oy... Where'd they say this stupid thing even was?" A few plateaus below, an older Arcosian; Defrosch, was seemingly scouting around for something, while floating gently above the snow in an effort to leave no tracks. "Can't be that hard to find..." The impatient grumbling continued as Defrosch sat down on a rock below. At this point he would attempt to take in his surroundings for a while, 'take a chill pill' as he'd call it.
In doing so, he would be able to pay more attention to the flow of energy this area of the world, what else could the world offer? He would have to find that out one day. Compared to the harsh atmosphere of the Fortuneteller's Desert or the... Unique properties of Fukurou Forest, Defrosch welcomed the new feeling the highlands seemed to have. A strange peacefulness. Defrosch noted that there were few creatures from what he could tell, but as his senses focused upwards... He felt something colder.
It was one of them.
One of his own kind.
Another Arcosian.

Brisk continued to wallow in his woe, so caught up in his own moping that he didn't even realize the obvious mumbling of another creature in the icy wasteland. Just as the child wiped his runny nose, he was startled by the shout of someone! A voice that he didn't recognize. But, a voice strangely familiar, in a far off sort of way. It demanded that the child show himself. Every fiber in Brisk's body wanted to curl up even tighter and sink into the snow and disappear forever. But he didn't. He let out one more childlike sob, before standing up and wiping his eyes. He toddled down the snowbank carefully, onto the lower level, where the voice was coming from, looking down at his feet to make sure he didn't slip. He finally came to a halt, and wrapped his tail around his legs as if to defend himself. He then looked up at the source of the voice, and was overtaken by shock. He was... An Arcosian!
"AHHHHHHH!!!"

Defrosch growled as he focused on the ki signature of the other Arcosian, even if they didn't show themselves he could pinpoint where they were with this! There would be no hiding from him! There was a slim chance- but a chance nonetheless- that whoever it was could have been sent this way by his father... Now, he knew the feeling his two brothers gave off with their ki, so it wasn't them. That much was a good sign.
"I said SHOW YOURSELF!" Defrosch gathered ki into his hands, ready to fire it off at any moment, should he be ambushed. "Because if you don't you're gonna want to run-" At the sound of the snow shuffling, Defrosch immediately turned and aimed at the source, glaring at them something fierce... However, upon seeing that it was in fact an Arcosian child, he dispelled the ki he was gathering. He was still tense of course, especially when the child yelped in shock. "... What're you doing here, kid?"

Brisk began to straight up bawl at the brash voice of the arcosian. He considered flying away and hiding for a hundred thousand billion years but decided against it after a moment of calming down. The child sniffled softly, and the arcosian standing across from him asked him what he was doing there. What was he doing there? The child sat down and curled up once more, and looked down near the feet of the arcosian across from him. "I- I m-miss... I miss... M-mom..." Brisk teared up once more just thinking of his mother. He had left his family when he turned 4 years old, but at the age of seven, he had spent more than half of his life with her. "I-i'm s-sorry, mister.." The truth was, the frigid peaks reminded Brisk of home.

Defrosch grimaced as the younger one started crying his eyes out. Of all the Arcosians in the entire universe it had to be a child. He'd rather deal with an adult Arcosian at this point. At least then he wouldn't feel bad about what he just did. When Defrosch spoke next, it was in a hushed and non-hostile tone. "Y-your mother huh..?" Defrosch remembered what little he could of his own mother-figure. She was strict, sure, but not to the ridiculous ends that his father was. "Well... Alright. Uhm. Listen, I thought you could've been someone else- I can sense spiritual energy and life force- s-so when I sensed another Arcosian, I panicked... Its me who should be apologizing. I-I uh... Shouldn't have yelled at you."
Defrosch stood there twiddling his thumbs, the sight of a younger Arcosian reminded him of his own youth. The difference being when he was that age, he had already mastered the art of suppressing ones true form and power entirely on his own. Where Defrosch fought for independence from a young age, it seemed as though this one had little to no reason to.
'Maybe this kid got lucky...'

Brisk spent a few more minutes sobbing, and then paused momentarily to listen to what the arcosian said. Although he was quite wrapped up in his own grief, the child was rather interested in seeing another arcosian. It had been a long long long long time since that last happened! (Or at least, a long time for a seven year old!) Brisk stood up, wiping away his tears. The larger man had panicked at the sight of another arcosian... Were they usually scary or something? This one seemed nice. Once Brisk had determined that the new face was not a thread, he was actually somewhat cheered up. The frigid landscape, the sight of another arcosian... The entire scene brought him back to a different place. A place that meant... Home. Brisk was no longer crying, he was in a state of mental serenity. "What is... Could you tell your name, please, sir?" Brisk asked respectfully, his right hand grabbing his left wrist behind his back.

Defrosch on the other hand couldn't be more uncomfortable with this situation. He would rather go the rest of his life not seeing another Arcosian again but alas, the universe once again planned otherwise, much to his annoyance. He looked off to the side, honestly hoping that the younger one would lose interest and just leave. Unfortunately, this was not the case. To Defrosch, the cold air, the presence of another member of his kind, the idea of his birthplace only served to make him feel more tense. This situation only brought back feelings of crushed dreams and aggression towards those that made him feel like a misfit. "My name? Its... Defrosch." He glanced back over to the youngster for a moment. "You're closer to the blue spectrum. So I doubt you've seen me before."

The small lizard boy shook his head 'no.' "Nuh uh. I haven't seen an arcosian in almost a zillion years," He told the man across from him, still speaking in a hushed half whisper, as if something was churning inside his mind. His eyes were unfocused, but were aimed in the general direction of the other arcosian's face. His head was tilted up at a drastic angle so that the 3 foot tall runt could look at him clearly. "But your voice- Sounds, your voice reminds me of something, and also the cold makes me think of Arcose, not that I really like Arcose it's just sometimes i get home sick even though I don't like it because-" He trailed off, not really for any particular reason. The boy's left foot took a step forward slowly, and then his right. Then another step. And then the child staggered forwards, and hugged the legs of the taller man. The child closed his eyes. "I'm Brisk," he told him softly.

Defrosch scoffed. A 'zillion years'? Such a childish and nonsensical phrase. Although, it was strangely endearing. He looked over at the younger Arcosian, trying to make sense of what he was saying. 'Familiar? Is that what he means?' Defrosch raised an eyebrow in thought, he laughed as the other said that they disliked Arcose. "Hah? Really now, kiddo? Honestly, I'm not fond of the place myself.. Granted, I likely have reasons that are different from yours.." Defrosch thought that the kid likely missed Arcose because of their mother-figure. 'At least they've got something going for them back on that stupid ball of ice... Or...' The older Arcosian looked at the ground. Did this child know of what happened? If he doesn't know, then Defrosch certainly doesn't have the heart to tell them...
That train of thought was instantly derailed when Defrosch's leg was hugged. "Woah there! Uh... Personal space, please. I uh, understand that you're happy to see another Arcosian, but you shouldn't go around randomly hugging people like that... In other news, I'm Defrosch. Yep. That's me." Defrosch squirmed a little, but only to indicate he was caught off guard and slightly uncomfortable with this.

The boy staggered back slightly, and began to blush. "S-sorry," he stammered, not realizing he was making the other uncomfortable. His name was Defrosch.. That was a kind of funny name, and he was acting kind of funny too. Brisk heard the man say he wasn't fond of arcose. "Why didn't you like Arcose? And why did you leave? And how did you get on to earth?" Brisk was now curious, and sat down criss cross applesauce. The boy was out of the trance he had been in a second earlier, and tilted his head back to look up at the other arcosian, resting his chin on his hands. The snowstorm was getting thicker, and flakes began to pile up on the boys knees even though he had just sat down.

Good, he wasn't a clingy kid, that made Defrosch relax a little. He let out a sigh and readjusted himself. "Yeah- Thank you, Brisk." He grumbled when the youngster unloaded a barrage of questions. Being nosy however, wasn't as annoying as being clingy. "Why why and how indeed. Do you care to make a few guesses?" Defrosch snickered. Kids liked to be imaginative, right? "Lets just say that I didn't quite... Fit in all that much. Everyone was so rigid, stuffy and boring, and I just couldn't deal with it anymore. So I left. Took a spare pod, the rest is history." There were more specific issues, but Defrosch didn't want to divulge that personal information. "I lucked out with the destination being Earth though... I kiiiinda jammed in random coordinates."

Brisk looked up curiously at his new arcosian friend. "So you wented to earth by accident? I went here on a ship that I snuck on to because I'm really stealthy.." The child seemed to be a bit proud as he said that last part. But he was still interested in specifics. He hadn't been to arcose for a long time. All he remembered was... School was boring and it was really cold. "What is arcose like now a days? Is it still really cold!?" Brisk scratched his smooth dome, thinking about what the other arcosian had said. "I thought everyone on arcose was stuffy and boring too and thats why I left too!" It seemed the two arcosians had a lot in common. And their gems seemed to be close together on the color spectrum...

"Yeah, lets go with that. I'd call it a happy accident." Defrosch raised an eyebrow, this kid had some pride in him, interesting! "Oho? Sneaky you say? What you say you did sounds quite impressive." He rolled his eyes. More questions. Lovely. "I haven't been there in seven years. But last I checked, yeah, its cold. Both the people and the planet. Nothing new..." Defrosch trailed off for a split second, thinking about the whole 'Murderbastard Tree' scenario that he was told about. "At least nothing new that I can fully one-hundred percent confirm." He sighed, it would be impossible to avoid mentioning what he had heard forever. "But I've heard rumors and... I don't think you'll like these rumors."

Brisk beamed with pride as his fellow arcosian noted that his escape from that heck-hole was impressive. He knew! Apparently arcose hadn't changed much. "Well good! I don't wanna go back that place was b-o-r-i-n-g!" Brisk laughed and started to spit down the cliff, watching his saliva turn to small balls of ice and bounce down the cliff. "Whoa look at that!" Brisk tapped the arcosian on the leg. "Try it!! Pthoooo!" He spit once more, watching the ice. "It freezes right away!" Brisk's new friend Defrosch needed to LIGHTEN UP!!! So maybe playing around in the snow would help?
