hands of time DAY AFTER DAY, LIKE A LIFETIME AWAY, I KEEP HOLDIN' ON It didn't matter how many times he flew the feeling it gave him would always remain the same. It was exhilarating. The feeling of the wind hitting against your face; the power coursing through your body as you willed it to defy the forces of gravity. In fact in all of the years Callio had spent alive the only thing he found that came close to this level of feeling would be combat. The Saiyan blood coursing through his veins ensured that battle would almost always provide him with a type of high that no drug could ever match. The only problem? He lacked strength. It might have been unsaiyan like to think such a thing but it was true. Compared to the people present within his future he was weak. It was his weakness that had costed him both his mother and the love of his life. Yet on the other side of the coin it seemed that his strength of will had managed to push him backwards in time; long before the events of his life had taken place. This afford him the rare opportunity to not only learn how to prevent the outcome of his future. It also allowed him a chance to better himself so that he'd never have to lose another person close to him again. It was that quest for those two things that brought him into the sky today. That had forced him to spend hours of his time looking for a very specific location. It was called the Lookout. He had been there once before during his timeline, but he had been so young that he hadn't bothered to commit it's location to memory. He wasn't even sure if Earth even had a guardian at this point and time. He'd be rather upset with himself if this search had been for nothing though. Thirty more minutes had gone by before Callio manage to spot the location he was looking for. A large half circle that floated in the sky. Callio couldn't help but allow for a grin to pass along his features as he flew towards it. He had started this search at the break of dawn and here it was late into the evening and he had arrived at his destination. His body hover over the tiles that made up the Lookout floor for a solid five minutes as he took the sight in. It looked just as it did within his memories. A true testament that even though time passed certain things were consist. He landed on the Lookout with a soft thud and placed his hands the pockets of jacket. Strands of red hair fell in front of his face as he began to walk; "Kami are you here? I have an important matter to discuss with you." he shouted. Surely the guardian had to be around here somewhere? If what he remembered about the Kami's of Earth they hardly ever left the Lookout.

[Thread PL: 268,440 | Enlightenment (x16 Perm) Active! Current PL: 4,295,040! | [SU] Ki Suppression Active! Sensed PL: 10,000] It was just another ordinary evening on the Lookout. The last bits of orange light from the setting sun beamed through the few windows of the grand temple that resided on the floating plateau. Bing sat in a dimly lit room deep in the Lookout. He was meditating; trying to think of some way to collect the last 5 Dragon Balls faster. Sure he had the Dragon Radar, but as of late it seemed to be giving him some trouble. During his searches for the orbs the radar would only pick up his own Dragon Ball's energy signature, wasting the battery of the machine and forcing Bing to repair the thing. It was honestly a bit frustrating, so he decided to try and find some other way. "Perhaps I can unlock some sort of 'Kami-Sense'? I mean, Scargot created the Dragon Balls, so he must have had some way to find them if he needed them! Maybe it's an ability Namekians are taught when they learn how to create the Dragon Balls?" His mind continued searching for answers, until an unfamiliar Ki began to approach the Lookout at a high speed. The Guardian's eyes snapped open as he felt the energy continue to close in. It didn't feel malicious, so there was a good chance it was simply someone looking to see if the legends of Kami were true. Regardless of the travelers intent, Bing had to meet them. He rose to his feet, making his way to the staircase that led to the surface level. As he approached the outside, he heard a shout coming from the traveler. He specifically asked for Kami's assistance for something of importance, meaning this fellow must have a bit more knowledge than the average intrepid explorer who climbed the tower. Bing revealed himself from within the Lookouts Temple, greeting the man with a friendly bow. He returned to a standing position as he spoke with a polite tone. "Greetings Warrior. If it is Kami you seek, then you have found who you are looking for. What is it that troubles you, friend?"

[Thread PL: 37,339] [SU] Liquid Ki - Mist Active! Ki suppressed to 10,000]
High up in the sky, even beyond that of the lookout there was yet another individual nearby. This individual was of course our resident Arcosian; Defrosch. He had planned to do some meditation for the entire day of all things, and he figured that somewhere near the Timeless Lookout was a good place given that it is an area of great significance. Perhaps it could provide some form of enlightenment? Surely that would be the case if this place was spoken of so highly by Bing.
Defrosch was calmly floating there in the upper atmosphere, thinking over recent events and his place on this planet... Which he wasn't all too sure of in all honesty, but he also didn't feel like giving up on it and leaving was the right choice either. If he did, what would the last seven years mean? In the end he was still kind of lost, and wondered how he could fit in better. Its strange how a few hectic months can change ones stance on things; from not caring about what others thought of him to actually appreciating that there was more to Earth than he thought. It was truly a strange world, and in his opinion, far better to him than Arcose ever was- that much is certain.
As the world turned and the sun set on this part of the planet, Defrosch slowly got out of his meditative trance whilst sensing a new energy approaching the Lookout. It was unfamiliar, sure, it felt similar to Raisu. A Saiyan-Human hybrid perhaps? It couldn't hurt to check it out, so Defrosch started to descend slowly towards the Lookout, where he would see a red-haired individual that seemed to have some Saiyan spirit within them... Was red hair common among Saiyan hybrids?
It seemed Bing had also noticed the newcomer and had come out from the labyrinth that was the Lookout's main building, which was good- because if this person decided to cause trouble they would have a lot to deal with. "I thought this place wasn't a tourist attraction. Looks like I'm wrong." Defrosch waved to Bing as he sauntered over. "So hey. I'm here too. Was meditatin' up there somewheres." The Arcosian casually gestured upwards as he spoke.

hands of time DAY AFTER DAY, LIKE A LIFETIME AWAY, I KEEP HOLDIN' ON Human huh? Strange Callio had been expecting the guardian to be of the Namekian race, but he supposed humans had to take care of guarding their own plant at some point right? Part of him wished he had lucked out and ended up at a certain Saiyan's point in time, but if his mother had taught him anything it was to count your blessings. When Kami bowed to him the young Saiyan simply gave a nod of his hand and placed a hand behind his neck. It was clear from his attitude that he wasn't the type of person to dwell on things like formalities. Besides wasting time on things like that would only take away from the bigger problems at moment. Callio hardly had any time to explain himself before another made his presence known; and of course Callio was silently cursing himself for not having learned Ki Sensing yet. It would have made it handy for knowing when Arcosians snuck up on you. It had of course been Callio's first instinct to raise his Ki up and attack the Changeling, but he had enough impulse control to stop himself. He could hardly handle one of them during his time; and judging by how you approached the Kami they were friends. Cal might have been rude but he wasn't stupid enough to attack someone the god of earth consider his pal. Didn't stop him from applying his own level of snark, "Didn't know this place accepted freaks either." his tone was harsh. Probably wasn't going to earn him any brownie points but he was sure the information he was about to share would make up for it. "Hello Kami, my name is Callio and I'm a Half-Saiyan from the future." he paused briefly to allow them time to sink the information in. "I'm not exactly sure how I ended up here but I have information that I believe you'd like to hear." of course he wasn't about to just hand out all the details without getting something in return. "In exchange for this info I'd like for you to train me, or to at least give me access to the Time and Space Chamber you have on the Lookout." yes he clearly knew more than he probably should have. That's what happens when your world is taken over by evil Changelings...secrets tend fade away.

Bing's senses picked up a second Ki incoming; this one, oddly enough, came from above. The energy descended quickly, landing near Bing and revealing its owner to be an Arcosian named Defrosch. The Guardian had only met the Arcosian once before now, but he was glad to see him again. He gave a friendly wave to the new arrival, chuckling at his quip. "I'm honestly a bit surprised so many people know of it. The Karina Tribe tell legends of Korin's Tower, but the Lookout is fairly secretive; or at least I thought it was." As Bing finished, Defrosch explained he was meditating in the sky's above. Bing nodded, turning his attention to the man who'd just said a rather rude remark aimed at the Arcosian. The Guardian's brow furrowed as he listened to the man continue speaking. Apparently he was from the future, and he wanted training in exchange for information.
Normally one would dismiss such preposterous claims, but Callio seemed to know of the Time Chamber, which intrigued the Guardian. Bing had never told a single soul about the room, and this fellow was quite young, so he couldn't have been told of it from another Kami. The only way he'd know of the room is if Scargot told him, and he didn't even know how to open the room! Bing pondered Callio's request for a moment, his arms folding as he fell deep in thought.
"Hmm... An interesting request from a warrior I've never met before. Not many know of the Room of Spirit and Time, so I am inclined to give your statement the benefit of the doubt. Still though, I cannot allow anyone to use the Room of Spirit and Time at this moment. It is only to be used in the most dire of situations. Unless you tell me that the Saiyan's have unlocked some sort of 'Super Super Saiyan' form and are coming here in a weeks time to take revenge for their failed invasion, I am afraid the chamber will stay locked..."
He pondered the situation for another moment. Callio seemed to have an air of determination about him. Taking no for an answer was not something he did often. He was a fighter, and a troubled one at that. Bing nodded, reassuring himself that this was the proper thing to do. "...However, I will train you, if you wish." He turned to Defrosch, repeating the offer to the Arcosian. "Same goes for you. If you want my training, feel free to join us. The Earth needs warriors who can defend it; especially with the recent disappearances of powerful fighters..."

Defrosch gave a nod to Bing, it seemed like he was in a good mood? Its not often that that happens to this wayward 'frost demon'. "Hah, its all good. Just so long as the right people know, right?"
Unfortunately, the momentary happiness and 'sugary goody-goodness' was quickly overtaken by a pillar of metaphorical salt. Defrosch looked over to the new arrival with an expression of... Anger? No, thats not it. Is it disappointment? That would be the closest thing to describe it. The Arcosian sighed, taking a very emotionless and lacking tone of voice. "Oh no. How your insult has hurt me deeply. Whateeeeever shall I do? Some random jackass called me names, boo-hoo." He shook his head lightly in embarrassment, now talking normally again. "Now I'm not against you being hostile an' all, thats entirely your problem- but if' ya wanna get a rise outta me? Try harder than that. Much harder than that." He scoffed as there was mention of time travel- it sounded like absolute nonsense until he mentioned something only Bing seemed to know about. The story wasn't as unbelievable as it originally seemed to be, but it was still rather ridiculous. Defrosch rolled his eyes with one hand on his hips, just looking continually more disappointed with the situation. "Wowie. So ya say you're from the future. Amazing, do you want a cookie or something?"
Looking back over to Bing, Defrosch felt a bit confused about what was being offered to him. Its not that he didn't understand the offer, its that he didn't understand the... Sincerity behind it. "... You really are an odd one, Bing. Y'know what, sure. I'm game. Lets see how this goes."

hands of time DAY AFTER DAY, LIKE A LIFETIME AWAY, I KEEP HOLDIN' ON Cal let out a low scoff and gave a roll of his eyes at the Frost Demon. The look in the clearly more powerful beings eyes didn't do anything to sway Cal's attitude towards improvement. If anything it only caused the blood within his veins to boil and his skin to crawl. "Your sarcasm could use some work; it's entirely lacking in class." Callio probably would have left it alone after that but then the Changeling had to go and threaten him. It hadn't exactly been threat truth be told, the statement had been more of challenge than anything else. The half breed bit down on the inside of his cheek briefly before opening his mouth to speak, "Don't need to try hard because you're obviously not even worth the effort." that said Cal focused his attention on Bing. "Of course you're going to be stingy with your little room." a heavy sigh escaped from his lips and his arms folded themselves against his chest. It was to be expected though. He hadn't exactly planned to just be given access to the room because of his story and knowledge. Hell he had actual thought to be laughed right off the look from the get-go. Thankful it seemed the Kami had at least some form of belief in what Cal was telling him. Something that couldn't be said about the Arcosian who was busy insulting him. "If your baking skills are as good as your jokes I think I'll have pass on the cookie Frosty." it was comments like that, that made people distrust the Arcosians. That and their overall lust for world domination but clearly it was the bad jokes that were worse. Insulting banter with the Frost Demon aside something the Kami had said stuck out to Cal. "What do you mean the Saiyans failed to invade?" just how far back in time was he? He had assumed it to be at least fifty to sixty years but with that current bit of information it didn't seem likely. As far as Cal knew the Saiyans had co-existed with the Earthlings for several centuries; building a rather impressive army once they combined their might. "I don't remember reading about any invasion in my history books." not that he actually attended school or anything. "I know Saiyans can be a rowdy bunch but they were always the good guys in my timeline...." there was brief pause in his sentence, "Most of them anyway." he finished. Getting access to the Time Chamber was even more important now, who knows how badly he had effected his own future by coming here. "Great that you're willing to train me and everything Kami but if what you're saying is true, then I need access to your Time Chamber even more now. It's the only way to gain enough power quickly for the danger that's about to come." he unfolded his arms and then sighed, "But...I understand your uneasiness to trust me; so I guess I have no choice but to accept whatever help you'll give me."

It was honestly a bit surprising to see these two warriors bickering so nonchalantly. If Callio was trying to come off as a brash fellow, he did so exceptionally well. The two threw pointless insults at each other for a few more moments before the two finally took a break. Callio seemed disappointed in Bing's response, as the Guardian expected. He was a Saiyan after all; if they weren't known for their violence, they'd be just as well known for their astounding lack of patience.
Callio seemed to become increasingly worried at the mention of the Saiyan Invasion. Bing nodded, explaining the battle to the Hybrid quickly. "It only happened a few months ago now. Queen Zucceta brought along an entire army to attack each Capitol City. I led the battle against Zuccetta herself, and after a hard-fought battle, an ally of mine was able to incapacitate her. She and her surviving warriors returned home, but not without causing major damage to each city first. We're still rebuilding, but I hold out hope that we'll finish soon."
There was only a handful of possible explanations for the Half-Saiyan being unaware of this important event. He might have been from an alternate timeline, or perhaps he'd come from farther in the future than he originally expected; of course, there was also the chance he was making this whole story up, but Bing didn't want to believe that.
Callio once again pushed for entry into the Time Chamber. Despite his apparent urgency, Bing refused once again. "I'm sorry Callio, but I won't allow you entry. Even if there is danger looming, I don't think you'd last more than an hour inside. The Room of Spirit and Time, while excellent for gaining power, is incredibly taxing on the mind and body."
He knew there was a chance that Callio would continue to insist on the subject, so Bing posed a challenge for the young lad. "Alright Callio, let's start your training with something simple." Bing pointed to Defrosch before continuing. "I want you to spar with Defrosch. If you can defeat him, then I will allow you immediate entry into the Room of Spirit and Time. If you cannot, then we will begin a proper training regimen. After your spar perhaps you can tell me some information about your future."
He stared stoically at Callio, awaiting his response. As he waited, he sent Defrosch a telepathic message. "My apologies for sending you a telepathic message; I know you hate these, but I want to clear some things with you before you begin. I want you to take it easy on him for this session. I'm sure you can sense that he's a bit weaker than you, so keep that in mind while you fight."

Defrosch shrugged as the Half-Saiyan made his retaliations. Nothing Defrosch hasn't heard before- its just like he said, the red-haired warrior would have to try much harder to be anything beyond an barely amusing joke. "And yet, here you are, coming outta nowhere being an asshole. Here's a piece of advice; next time- think about your actions before you try and get on someone's nerves, yeah? Yeah. Good. Glad you understand." The Arcosian snorted once more at the lackluster comebacks that were heading his way, perhaps deep down he was disappointed that this was all too easy. "Well hey, you're the one thats throwing..." Suddenly, Defrosch had an idea. His mouth visor zipped down, showing a mischievous grin, one of a playful and silly sort. "... Half baked insults around." Defrosch didn't even hold back his snickering and goofy laughter.
Hold on, don't Arcosians usually find this level of amusement in the suffering of others rather than really bad puns? This doesn't add up. Or rather, it wouldn't add up to those that know about Arcosians on a general basis.
Defrosch rolled his eyes as more 'time-travel talk' came up. "Keep your wits about you future-guy. You're part of the history books now." He then gave Bing some space as the guardian cut in on this bickering session. Bing's suggestion was welcomed by Defrosch stretching in preparation. "Lets see if you've got some bite to go with that bark, shall we?"
Bing just had to send a psychic voice mail too. At least he remembered that Defrosch dislikes this sort of thing, so he would let it pass this time. He gave Bing a short nod in confirmation as he moved back away from his opponent. With his right hand forward, left hand out and tail out to his right side, Defrosch set his left leg back, settling into a rather... Odd battle stance. Everything about it didn't seem very 'Arcosian'. There wasn't any rigidity, no stuffiness, there was freedom, there was flow.
It was different.

hands of time DAY AFTER DAY, LIKE A LIFETIME AWAY, I KEEP HOLDIN' ON The amount of relief that passed across Callio's feature when Bing mentioned that the Saiyan Invasion had happened months ago was clearly visible. As brash as Cal was messing up the timeline wasn't exactly something he wanted to happen. Having only arrived within this era about a week ago it meant he hadn't been the cause of the Saiyan Invasion. This did give way to entirely different set of worries though; ones that he'd be sure to address at a later point in time. Once more the Kami shot down Cal's request to enter into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and Cal couldn't do anything but frown. This really wasn't turning out to be an ideal situation for Callio. Then the Arcoasin had to chime in with that sarcasm that Cal was really starting to get fed up with. "Listen Frosty I don't need you mocking me right now." Callio placed two of his fingers against his temple and began to rub. "Can you not possibly imagine how hard this is for me? My future might not have been fucking ideal but it was still my home." it was the truth; he might have wanted to stay in the past for a while but that didn't change how lost he felt. "I have to be careful with every choice that I make or I run the risk of ruining the future." He took a deep breath and allowed for his emotions to calm down, and that' when the Kami chimed in. Starting with simple training huh? Sparing right from the get-go didn't seem like simple training though. He wasn't going to argue with it though; because if he could beat the Arcosian he'd be able to get into the Time Chamber. Despite how sure of himself he appeared when the challenge was brought up, internally Callio knew he didn't stand a chance. His entire future was overrun with these guys, and he knew how powerfully they were. He had never been able to beat, he had always been forced to run away at the last second. Not this time though. There would be no running; he'd have to buckle down and really see if he was capable of pulling this off. "You might lose an arm if I bite too hard." a threat backed with false courage as Cal took a fighting stance. He placed one hand out in front open and kept the other one towards his back in a closed fist. It was a rather basic stance taught to him by his father, and one that Cal didn't use very often. He figured his normal 'wing it' style of fighting wasn't going to cut it here. Then the Arcosian took his stance and Callio found himself being hit with a wave of familiarity. "Strange..." Cal muttered to himself his mind only briefly racing for an idea of where he had seen that stance before. Regardless of the matter Cal made the first move. He launched himself up into air taking flight while firing off blasts of ki red towards Defrosch in the process.

Defrosch took a deep breath, closing his eyes. "Oh just shut up and fight me already!" His eyes shot open, revealing a different expression from before. The mischief in his eyes was replaced with something else, and it wasn't anger. There was nothing malicious about his gaze. While cold, it wasn't the type of cold that would instill fear. It was the kind of cold that was strong and firm... Determined. Solid.
The Arcosian presented himself as a massive iceberg. It was up to the hybrid Saiyan to see if he had brought a big enough blowtorch with his fighting spirit!
Thus, the fight began. The red ki blasts were closing in on Defrosch, and he stood there motionless until they were barely a meter away from him! His counter-attack was to twirl backwards off his hind leg a few times, sending off teal rays of ki from his tail as it went with the turns he made! There was a brilliant flash of orange light as the barrages collided and mixed, some residual pressure and bits of Defrosch's tail-rays survived the impact and kept going, but as a result of the impact; suffered the loss of speed and power, and at this point would merely be a distraction rather than a threat.
"Is that it? Do you want to get into that fancy schmancy time room or not?!" These words did not come from an egotistical tyrant, but rather something of a disappointed warrior. "Show me what you've got!"

hands of time DAY AFTER DAY, LIKE A LIFETIME AWAY, I KEEP HOLDIN' ON All it had taken was that spin from Defrosch's counter attack for Cal to realize he had seen that fighting style before, and it had been from someone in his future. The exact person he couldn't place; but he knew now they Defrosch must have been related to them in someway. Great Grandfather or perhaps even Father considering how long Arcosian's lived for. While had been busy tracing through his memories for that stance, he hadn't exactly been paying much attention to the fight and was hit by a few of the Frost Demon's stray energy blasts. Four of them to be exact, two land against his chest and two against his right shoulder. They stung, a lot. If they had been going with their full force Cal was pretty sure they'd have hurt a lot more. Defrosh was right though he wasn't going to get into the room fighting the way he was right now. He needed to step up his game and not rely on such tiny tactics like ki blasts. The half Saiyan let a smirk cross his features as his feet with solid ground and he then he cracked his neck. "Alright then, let me show you a taste of my true power." the aura around Cal began to flick and dance in a manner similar to that of fire and his knee buckled themselves. Energy spheres took shape inside of his hands and he quickly began to toss them towards the Changeling. It was a flurry of Ki spheres that surely blocked his vision, and that was the plan. Cal used the barrage of bright energy to hide himself as charged forward behind the wall. It didn't matter if any of the Ki blasts hit because Cal was ready to slam his fist into Defrosch's gut once they were gone. He'd then go for a kick with his right leg towards the Arcosian's neck.

Defrosch groaned. 'Of course, thats what they all say.' He watched on as the wall of ki made its way towards him. In response he moved back and let out a bit more of his energy to disrupt the flow of the ki wall. This would send out a small shockwave- a relatively weak kiai- as his power rose. His opponent wouldn't be unbalanced by this of course, due to the buffer that was created by the ki blasts.
The Arcosian's expression didn't change as the Saiyan rushed forward. The punch to the gut only shifted him back by half a step. "A taste of your true power?" The kick came swiftly, but not swiftly enough, as Defrosch blocked it with his forearm. "How tasteless!" Defrosch's expression soured, and still, it was not out of viciousness... How strange. "SPICE IT UP A LITTLE!" Defrosch would attempt to counter by grabbing the leg the Saiyan used to kick via the arm Defrosch used to block it... Only to try and bring the Saiyan into a basic headbutt aimed at the Saiyan's upper torso.

hands of time DAY AFTER DAY, LIKE A LIFETIME AWAY, I KEEP HOLDIN' ON It was starting to become entirely clear to Callio just how outclassed he was here, and all from a single punch to Defrosch's gut. It might not have seemed like it but Callio had actually been putting a lot of his power into the strike. Yet here the Arcosian was taking the smallest step backwards. "This is pointless. a thought mirrored even further when his kick to the neck was blocked effortlessly. He had attempted to pull his leg back in time to avoid being grabbed but it had been pointless. He had felt the Arcosian's iron grip on his leg and despite how hard he tried to pull himself free he just couldn't. He could only watch helplessly as his body was pulled forward and forced into Defrosch's head for a solid headbutt to his chest. Callio's eyes grew wide and blood split itself from his chest and into the air, but he fought through the pain enough to twist his entire body to left. The action allowed himself to break free from Defrosch's grip long enough to fly himself backwards and place some distance between the two of them. He took a deep breath once was he was at least a few feet away from him and began to whip the blood from his lips. "It doesn't take a genius to see I'm outmatched here." he scoffed. Callio took his eyes for a second to look towards Bing. The Kami had been messing with him when he had said he'd be able to get in if he could beat the Frost Demon. Callio might not have been able to sense power levels but the two of them certainly had to capable of it. "You're more clever than I gave you credit for Bing." another deep breath escaped from Callio and he began to take the stance he would need for his Bloody Cannon. The aura around him began to flicker about within the air, and Cal's eyes grew wide. "It might interest you know to Frost Demon that I've met someone who uses that stance of yours." a red sphere began grow within the gap between Callio's hands. "She was one of the few Arcosian's in my time that were actually worth trusting. and then he pushed his hands forward releasing the built up Ki into a giant red of energy towards Defrosch. "BLOODY CANNON!" just because he knew he couldn't win didn't mean he had to give up though.
