"C'mon! Lets gooooo!" Captain Nova (Aka mild mannered Nicolas Mclendon) cried out as he ripped through the endless sea of heaven's golden clouds. Under his feet was a sort of sleek, gold trimmed, winged board with an energy sail that radiated with an abundance of colors like a prism. The young hero was taking a 'fun spin' (slacking off) on his training by trying to see how well he could control the famous 'Hermes Boards' that were used for the heavenly hobby known as cloud surfing. He'd be riding through the clouds... All while being weighed down by his heavy weights.
To say it was a simple adjustment would be a bold lie.
"This isn't so bad! I think I might be getting the hang of this!" (Another lie.) Captain Nova weaved in, out, and all about the puffy clouds. The backside of his board kissed the top of those clouds as he skid by causing golden sparkles to break off creating a light trail behind his board. Nicolas grinned with a mixture of wonderment and excitement as he reached down scoop his hand through some of the clouds as he whizzed by. A shimmering trail of golden sparks slipped between his fingers as he tried to reach out and touch the clouds. He kept at it, till he almost lost his balance and toppled over waving his arms out like a kid sticking their hand out the car window.
"Woah-woah-woah hold on! Hey!" He called out as he tried to stabilize himself. He blinked beneath his star-shaped visor as he took a moment to steady his stance and adjust the sail causing the tip of his board to shift up allowing it to break through to the top of the golden 'sea'. With a (mostly) confident smirk, Captain Nova would accelerate sending his board rocketing upward. The cloud's 'splashed' around his form sending glittering fragments into the air like a shining shower as he and his board ripped through to the top of the clouds. "Whew that was awesome! Though, that was a cutting it a bit close... I almost totally..." He stopped, however, as he looked out to the heavenly horizon. His voice caught in his throat, he was left speechless at the sight.
"Oh... Wow..." He breathed out finally.
The hero had gazed out towards purple horizon that stretched onward to eternity. The sky wasn't like anything he had ever seen before, the swirling colors were so vibrant and defined that he briefly wondered if he had stepped into a painting. With the gorgeous colors saturating the horizon in such a vibrant display of color and light it was almost hard not to believe that was the case.
He coasted through the skies a bit before noticing what looked to be a floating island of sorts. The island was fairly large, grassy, and from what he could see there was some streams and strange tropical looking foiliage abundant throughout. There were a few marble pillars as well as some marble buildings but the levels of ivy growing over it made it seem like they hadn't been visited or maintained in quite some time."Hey! Check that out!" He called out to no one in particular as he suddenly sped towards it wondering what could lie in wait.

On earth and on heaven, Braiddan's loner nature never changed. Be it the isolation in his youth or other factors, he was always distant. Even as a wisp of cloud in paradise, he found himself scouring the infinite plains of heaven. For solitude. A quiet place away from all the chittering spirits and the watchful onis. He finally found it, a lone floating island. A beauteous spectacle. To be honest, it surprised him there weren't little spirit wisps buzzing in and out at all times. Braiddan was never one to look a gift horse in this mouth.
Time seemed meaningless after death. Hours, days, even years and centuries seemed meaningless in terms of eternity. Two hundred years have passed since they day his mortal coil faded out. Two centuries of meditating on his own private little island. Not a distraction, not a care. The rage that haunted his life; finally overcome. But even a timeless setting, it did not hinder the inevitability of a social need. He no longer had to sleep , eat, he didn't even have to breath. But he would have liked to hear another voice. Not that there is anything too exciting about heaven to talk about. Even paradise got boring after a while.
"Hey! Check that out!"
The little wisp shot to attention at the voice. It wasn't the high voice you would hear coming from a spirit. The puffball hovered forth, to the edge of the island to see a solid form. And it wasn't an ogre. IT was something he hasn't seen since he resided in the mortal plain. A human. Even with the odd getup he was wearing, it was clear as day.
"Is that a human ah see? "
His high pitche voice piped out loud. Not actually sure if the person heard him from so far. But it was still an appropriate internal musing .

Nicolas brought the strange flying device to a rough land as he practically crashed the thing in his eagerness to explore the strange floating island. After making sure that the board wasn't completely smashed the young man would look up to the strange archaic island that he found hidden among the clouds. It was strange, he thought, that he'd stumble upon such a place almost accidentally. Judging by the strange stone structures in the distance and the over abundance of foliage it seemed as if the floating island was long forgotten. That was the strangest part about it: the idea that things could be lost or forgotten in Heaven. To see ruins in paradise seemed unheard of. Yet, here he was.
He briefly wondered if it was just a creation the realm fabricated to cater to his desire for adventure and wonderment. The thought that the realm could somehow meld to his longings seemed unsettling for some reason. How much of this paradise was real? What if it were all just a lingering fantasy he had in his final living moments? What if an eternity of nothingness was just a breath away? He physically staggered at the thought, the potential ramifications of his afterlife being just some twisted dream terrifying him to no end.
His deep questions of existence and reality seemed to slow to a halt as a squeak of voice filled the air. It was one of genuine shock, causing the hero to look up and stand alert. He took a moment, searching for the source of the voice only to settle his sights on the lone little puff looking down upon him from the distance.
"Oh? A civilian of this fine place!" Captain Nova called out in his over the top super hero voice. A golden aura flared over his form as he suddenly shot towards the soul. With a spark, the super hero of the afterlife: Captain Nova would stand before the wisp. His fists rest on his hips and his chest was puffed to proudly display the golden star emblem on his costumed chest.
"Indeed little cloud! I am a human!" He called out pointing a finger to it in a dramatic fashion. "I was the hero of the cosmos~" He threw his arms to his sides as he balanced on one leg, posing to punctuate his moving speech. "Champion of the people!" He crossed arms like an X while switching legs. "The one and only..." He hopped back on one foot, his heel clicking against the ground. "CCCAAAAPPPPPPTAAAAAIIIINNNNN NOOOOOVVVVAAAA!" He arched his back lightly, balancing on his one leg as he extended one hand forward with an outstretched open palm while pulling the other far back in a fist.
Despite being spooked earlier he still managed to totally rock that intro! Damn it was cool to be a hero!

Times like these, Braiddan missed having a face. As a little sentient wisp he no capibilities of expressing just what the introduction made him feel like. It would have been a rather blank expression with copious amounts of blinking to perfectly compliment the since of bewilderment. He deduced that this had to be an urban dwelling human. In the rural areas he spent most of his life, folks so loudly dressed and flamboyant were few an far between. He only saw people of that persuasion in the city. Despite the introduction throwing him off, one question still remained. Why was a solid bodied human here of all places. He referred to himself in the past tense. He was probably dead as well. But how in the heck did he get his own body? fianlly he shook away the cobwebs and finally responded.
"Ain't git a fancy name lik' yersel'. Th' name's braiddan. Ah wis a monk afore ah gaed 'n' passed oan. Cannae tell ye howfur lang ago"
((Ain't got a fancy name like yourself. The name's Braiddan. I was a monk before I went and passed on. Cannot tell you how long ago))
The wisp visibly shuddered for a moment. His own high pitched voice sounded quite odd to him. No telling what it sounded like to others that actually notice his thick accent. But he carried on and decided to voice the silent question on his mind.
"By chance, cuid ye tell me howfur ye kept yer body? " ((By chance, could you tell me how you kept your body?))
Maybe it wasn't too late for him to do the same. Time as a cloud really has run it's course. It was dreadfully boring. Having his body would at least grant him the ability to train to kill time.

Captain Nova stood up straight and listened as the little spirit spoke out in a high pitched, heavily accented, tone. He kept his chest puffed, arms on his hips and his chin high maintaining the image of a true super hero. His heroic smirk, however, turned into a sheepish grin as the cloud's question was presented. He moved to awkwardly scratch at the back of his neck as he thought up a suitable excuse as to why he had his body still. "O-Oh...Well, you see..." He spoke, breaking character for a brief second. Realizing he should probably just tell the truth he cleared his throat and started over.
"I don't know how aware of 'current events' you are, if I had to hazard a guess I'd say: it seems like you've been kinda secluded up here for a while..." He began, looking out to the strange landscape once more. "You see, back on Earth a savage robot by the name of 'Realigner Red' attempted to lay claim on the planet. The deranged maniac was chasing after some fairy tale. The Dragon Balls, if you're familiar with the story. Anyway, he threatened to cause chaos and ruin if the world didn't bend to his impossible demands. I, along with a group of brave heroes rallied to defeat him." His voice lost power as the images of some of the fallen heroes flashed before his eyes during his retelling. He steeled himself with a sharp inhale before continuing. "...The fight, wasn't going well. He was too powerful, everything...Everything thrown at him...He bested. It was like a game to him, and when he got bored he tried to leave."
"...I took that chance to grab him. In a stupidly desperate attempt to beat him I gave up my life for a genuine shot at taking him down. I lived my final moments as a true hero!"
"...Even though it didn't really amount to anything." His heroic tone vanished as he sort of slumped in a dejected manner.
He laughed softly, shaking his head as if he were chastising himself. "Ahhh...I need to let it go, eventually he was beaten...So that's good but...I gave up everything for a failed chance." The young man stood for a tense moment only to realize he failed to answer Braiddan's question completely.
"A-Anyway..." He cleared his throat, going back to his 'hero voice.' "The Guardian of Earth happened to be there during that fight so, when I was being judged by the great King Yemma he showed up and spoke highly of my heroic deeds! He bid the king to treat me well in the afterlife, and he made good on that bid by restoring my body. I'm not sure if there are other ways but certainly it's not impossible!" He said giving the cloud a little nod.

The little cloud bobbed. Probably serving as a nod from the disembodied spirit. The flamboyant captain's story kind of made his mind wonder off to a subject he has tried to avoid for quite some time. His own death. He supposed he’d have to hear about someone else's at some point, given the location.
“Ah see. Ah jalouse ah hae a story lik' yers.” ((I see. I guess I have a story like yours)
He paused for a second, wondering if he should actually divulge such information to this stranger. But he figured the Captain was willing enough to give his.
“Nae ferr sure howfur lang ago. Bit whin ah wis born, thare wis a stoatin batch o' hauf demons in th' world.i wis yin o' thaim, alang wi' mah brother. Lik' mony o' they bairns, we wur abandoned oot o' fear. Bit a monk managed tae tak' us in 'n' raise us. He figured teaching us th' ways tae keep control ower oor minds bodies 'n' spirits wid hulp us overcome oor ither hauf. Sae, we grew up learning martial arts tae cover a' three disciplines.”
(Not quite sure how long ago. But when I was born, there was a great number of half demons in the world.I was one of them, along with my brother. Like many of those children, we were abandoned out of fear. But a monk managed to take us in and raise us. He figured teaching us the ways to keep control over our minds bodies and spirits would help us overcome our other half. So, we grew up learning martial arts to cover all three disciplines.)
He knew the hero probably didn’t want to hear his whole life story. So he tried to condense it without leaving the important parts out.
“As we became adults. Th' auld monk tellt us he wished fur us tae hulp th' ither troubled bairns. Sae mibbie thay kin bide in peace wi' themselves. Mah brother 'n' ah gaed aff oan oor seperae ways. Ah leed oan th' lip o' a toun 'n' worked oan perfecting a non lethal martial art. That wis 'til th' rid starn cam.”
(As we became adults. The old monk told us he wished for us to help the other troubled children. So maybe they can live in peace with themselves. My brother and I went off on our seperae ways. I lived on the edge of a town and worked on perfecting a non lethal martial art. That was until the red star came.)
““it shone in th' sky. A' they hauf demon bairns mutated under tis lighted. A battle raged oan. Mah brother 'n' ah fought back th' tide alone. Ah concentratit oan incapacitating thaim mercifully. Bit mah brother juist leid doon a path o' destruction. Sae muckle tae th' point he turned against me. Ah tried tae treat him th' identical as th' ithers. But...he eventually pushed me tae a point whaur mah ither side teuk ower. Ah used a technique th' monk forbade me tae uise 'n' murdurred mah ain brother….i fell tae mah ain injuries soon efter ”
(It shone in the sky. All those half demon children mutated under its lighted. A battle raged on. My brother and I fought back the tide alone. I focused on incapacitating them mercifully. But my brother just laid down a path of destruction. So much to the point he turned against me. I tried to treat him the same as the others. But...he eventually pushed me to a point where my other side took over. I used a technique the monk forbade me to use and killed my own brother….I fell to my own injuries soon after)
The cloud pondered.
“ Not sure how long it’s been. I least touched earth in year (Two hundred years ago xD)”

"An ominous red star you say? Something that turned people into monsters?!" Captain Nova spoke out in alarm as the spirit regaled him with his tale. Something seemed forbiddingly familiar about such a far fetched yet somber tale. He paused resting his chin on his hand as he took a moment to ponder over his memories. He blinked a few times beneath his reflective visor as realization hit him. "I've seen something like that during my super heroic times of fighting crime! It was back when I was alive you see, there was a jail break shortly after I had started protecting the city as Captain Nova!" He began his tale looking to the ground as he tried to collect his thoughts.
"It was a dark night, I was out patrolling trying my best to clear up any sort of wrong doing I came across." He began as he imagined himself flying through the city. "When this alarm went off in the prison! I went to check it out and one of my most vile villains was there to make his grand debut! I called him Ripjaw, he was a hulking mass of muscle, scales, and bloodlust! A behemoth of destruction and devastation! A true villain! A monster, if you will!" He said describing this 'Ripjaw' while also sort of miming how the great beast stood. "That entire night seemed surreal! It's really almost like a blur when I think of it! The worst criminals that west city were running amok, our good boys in the blue were scrambling, and Ripjaw was coming at me like I had just insulted his favorite anime girl! In the chaos I do remember one detail distinctly. A foreboding glow of a bright red star hanging in the night's sky..." He spoke recalling the crazy jailbreak and the fight with the gator zoanthrope who was twisted into a demonic form by a mischievous demon lord.
"I guess demons still roam the world then... That's what you said they were right? Demons?" He asked looking to the curious little spirit with interest. "If our stories line up it would seem the world could use someone of your talents. A demon hunter so to speak. It's a shame that the conflict with your brother pushed you into the afterlife, I bet the world could use all the help it could get right about now." He mused, moving to gaze wistfully out to the heavenly horizon.

“Aye. The star didn’t seem to transform me. But I always grew up fighting some strange rage. A rage that clouded my thoughts, and magnified my strength many times over. Bera Joh, the monk whom raised me affectionately called me a berserker. I believe the name fit those rages. He said if I could pair that rage with his discipline I would probably be the most powerful student under the monastery's teachings. But I only managed to control the random nature of the rages”
((Aye. The star didn’t seem to transform me. But I always grew up fighting some strange rage. A rage that clouded my thoughts, and magnified my strength many times over. He said if I could pair that rage with his discipline I would probably be the most powerful student under the monastery's teachings. But I only managed to control the random nature of the rages.)) The cloud thought back to all the times his random rages got him into trouble. The hapless policeman whose only sin was tapping the shoulder of a child he assumed lost. Seconds later the officer laid on the ground with a broken arm. Or the noodle shop that had to renovate because they were out of ingredients for his favorite seafood ramen. While he looked down regretfully at the trouble he caused others. It now kind of elicited a chuckle now that he had matured so much since then.
Once more the cloud sat back and listened to the rest of the tale from the hero. Long he had come to terms with the fact that his time had passed. The earth did not need him anymore, there were many heroes to take his place. But hearing that demons still roamed the land, mutating under that red star. He pondered just how many troubled beings he could offer assistance to. Though he hated this string of thought, with his brother gone, it would be far more easy to heal through mercy.
“That does fill me wi' th' desire tae return tae earth 'n' aide thaim. Bit ah fear ah hae na body tae return tae. Ah jalouse ah cuid gang th' reincarnation route...but ah kent that awreedy time aishans.”
((That does fill me with the desire to return to earth and aide them. But I fear I have no body to return to. I guess I could go the reincarnation route...but obvious time issues. ))
The cloud ponders just what other ways there might be to obtain his original form. He had heard about the guardian in the tower. But he figured he was far too late to go that route. Maybe there was some type of other being that could restore his body. At least enough for him to train in the afterlife.

"Maybe you could get your body back by doing some community service for the ogres or something?" He suggested with a shrug of his shoulders. "I'm not sure...Heaven seems...Weird." He mused looking down to the cloud. "I've seen people who have fallen in battle come back in a matter of days while I've been here. I witnessed a crazy alien jump down to hell trying to train. It's crazy and it doesn't seem like there's any sort of strict rules or guidelines." He smiled softly before kneeling down to be on the spirit's level as he looked to him from behind his golden visor. "I suppose, what I'm trying to say is that anything is possible. Don't give up hope!" He flashed one of his big sunny grins and gave him an enthusiastic thumbs up of approval.
He stood up and looked to the ancient ruins that he had been making home for the past hundred years or so before glancing back over to him. "Though, if you really wanted to stay I couldn't really blame you. Paradise is intoxicating. There's no stress, freedom to do whatever I want, fantastic views behind every corner... I mean look at this place! It's something out of a fantasy rpg almost and you were calling it home!" He grinned before flying up in the air a bit to get a good view. "...I mean, just look at the colors of the horizon! It boggles my mind how beautiful it looks!" Though the view was indeed nice it could have just been the artist inside of him talking and making such a big deal over it. He turned before flying down, preforming a suprisingly acrobatic twirl in mid air before touching down on the grass with a soft 'pat.'
"If it weren't for the fact that I have a family to get back to and a heroing job I wouldn't ever go back. Earth sucks, frankly." He said with a light chuckle. "...But...It's weird...I still miss it, y'know?" He said his heroic tone dropping as he took on a more thoughtful musing. "I guess it's not my time yet. From the way you've been talking it kinda seems like your time was cut short too." He said, with a light wince when he thought of his circumstances. He couldn't begin to imagine how hard it must have been for him. To fight your own brother is a torture he never wanted to experience.

When Yemma had said that he was going to heaven, his eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. As he floated up to heaven, he said to Yemma, "Thank you sir! I'm forever in your debt!" Conan then appeared up in heaven. His first comment was, "Wow, there are a LOT of clouds here. But i'm a cloud, so I guess I shouldn't judge," Conan said as he explored his new surroundings. Conan flew up towards the clouds, them soothing his smoke-cloud like body. Conan wondered if he would get his physical body back. He didn't know the requirements of even getting a physical body, or if it was even possible. He needed to train in order to get stronger in order to even get close to Etoru's base form, which was ridiculous. But Conan had heard rumors of fighters training down here with a physical body, their power increasing more of that if they had trained on Earth. He wondered if this was true, but of course, that would get him back to square one, how to get a physical body down here. He then noticed the horizon. It looked beautiful, nothing could match it. It made all the things Conan worried about go away for a minute. He then noticing a short of talking near him. He walked, more like floated, towards the sound and he saw that it was coming from some marble buildings. He walked through them, amazed at all the detail and hard work put into it. The people up here must have really liked the people who came here if they built this for them. He then found the source of the sound, a cloud talking to a man in a physical body and in heavy weights. Wait, "Heavy weights?" Conan wondered out loud in his ridiculous cloud voice. He walked toward the two and said, "Hello! I'm Conan, new dead person here, and you two are?" Conan hoped he'd make a good impression, because he needed to know how to get his own heavy weights and how to get a physical body. And hopefully get some training in before he gets revived. Conan hoped that Ichiba and Jutsu were ok and they chose to escape. If they didn't, well Conan guessed that would have been what he had done too. He waited there patiently for their answers, hopefully they'll be his guides/friends down here. Hopefully, if he was polite enough, the man with a physical body will tell him how to get his body back, hopefully with his armor too.

Once more the cloud bobbed to do it's version of nodding. He kind of had a very limited range of motion. so what passed for body language was a series of bobs.
"Tha' soun's like a good idea, mate. Ah know it soun's greedy. But Ah want ta come back ta enjoy the simple things. "
Braiddan turned to meet the newcomer. A sort of half bob to greet him. "Ah'm Braiddan. Ah been here fer a while. How long? Can't tell meself. Time seems a wee pointless 'ere"

A sudden and strange occurrence happened as the two spoke. The costume clad hero was about to turn and greet the new spirit when suddenly a strange golden light began to envelope his form. He looked about as his body was suddenly lifted from the ground as the shimmering radiance took hold of his body. "What...What's happening?!" He uttered aloud looking up as the halo above him began to glow vibrantly. The ring signifying his place in the afterlife began to hum as the glow increased further and further turning the once golden ring white. At the climax of the hum and glow the ring would shatter with a sound not unlike a chain link snapping. The fragments exploded into a puff of glittering sparkles that cascaded around him. His tie to the afterlife was broken. He looked to the two spirits, a confused smile crossed over his face before he gave them a two fingered salute. Somehow, he knew his time had come to leave and all he could offer was a simple farewell. "Y'all be good... And Braiddan? It was nice meeting you. I hope we meet again." With a final chuckle, the young man's form was whisked away by the golden light. He would be sent down to the check in station where Conan had just come from. His time in heaven was over, for now at least... He would return one day. ...The surfboard renter was surely going to have a hard time finding his board.
Nicolas got revived by the dragon balls! PL please!
