Her attack was thwarted by a swift deflection from Alaistair, as much she’d expect. His fist colided with her forearm, sending her attack off balance, and she retracted the ki she was building in it. Backing away, she seemed lost in thought, stopping her assault. Nodding, she’d call out to her opponent. “ Well, if you’re good to stop, I’d say I am as well. I think I got a good idea of who you are as a person.” She was ready to end the fight then and there if he wanted, but he was free to continue if he so chose. She’d be ready for him, if he did. Venne usually didn’t leave her guard down, and after warming up like that, she was far from having done so. And now that she’d had time to reflect on the choices he made, how he fought, she had a very good understanding of the sort of person he was. Or at least, the sort of person he presented himself as. There was likely subtle nuance yet left undiscovered, but she felt she could trust him. As far as one could trust an employer, anyways. “ So what’ll it be, we continue the fight? Or shall we talk about this job offering?” [ Alaistair ] (I figured, pure battle posts are hard to elaborate on without resorting to purple prose.)

(Fair enough. ) Vennel came to a stop after her attack was deflected, seeming to have forced her to some confusion. She backed away, too, because of this, which left Alaistair to question vocally, "You're too hurt now, are you?"His question would be answered with her clarification of her analysis, albeit it small. The Devil, meanwhile, thought it wasn't so much a good amount of time to come to that. She asked him if they should continue the match or if they should get to talking about the business at hand. Alaistair straightened himself out, pulling his pants up a bit as he explained, "Well, I'm coming across a sort of issue at the moment, about yourself that currently prevents me from elaborating on the full details about the job..."He pointed his temple as he paused briefly, identifying, "You've natural instincts, but you seem reliant on the scouter... Have you not learned to sense the energy of others?"The Devil was satisfied with her ability to fight, for the most part. However, that key ability was something Alaistair would find troubling. From his understanding, the individuals on this planet were mainly androids, which the scouter wouldn't have issues detecting. Yet, there those who had the ability to hide themselves until the right time to strike, and of the people Alaistair talked with, he enjoyed Vennel's company the most. She actually knew how to loosen the hell up at times, unlike most of the people Al's had the pleasure of working with! "I'll fill you in the job, but I've a key requirement for you to do: Earn the sense of energy," Alaistair requested of her, "The pay I've in mind for this job is in the thousands, maybe even the tens of thousands, with forward pay of half for the job and the rest after completion. How's that sound?"( Vennel, how's this sound for a little objective?)

Vennel’s face seemed to scrunch up in response to Alaistair’s observations. It was like he thought she couldn’t do the job if she couldn’t innately feel the energy of others around her. Her scouter helped her just fine, and she had no doubt she’d figure out how to sense energy if she really needed to. Crossing her arms, she continued the listen to her host’s observations, shaking her head in reply to his question regarding her capability to detect ki. But his conclusion came shortly after, with the promise of a healthy pay for the job. Quite more than she normally made on odd jobs, for that matter. Which rose some questions as to what sort of job was this? Alistair wasn’t kidding when he said it was important, it seemed. Reaching for her scouter, she intended to remove it and try to force herself to try and feel Alaistair’s ki- but then a thought crossed her mind. Something she wanted to bring up while she was here with him. “ I’ll learn how to sense energy for you. It wouldn’t be all that difficult. I can already feel and control my own, but I have never had the need to rely on something like that, so it simply wasn’t something I learned. But I have a question for you.” She took a deep breathe, before she began to speak. “ I won’t mince words here. The throne has put out the call to every able bodied saiyan soldier to report to planet Vegeta. I’m feeling conflicted. On the one hand, I didn’t join the past few campaigns of my people, because I felt they were foolish, ill prepared, and undermanned for Zucceta’s irresponsible ambitions. And on the other hand, I still have a soft spot for my people, I suppose. I wanted to know, what do you think I should do?” She would ultimately make her own decision, as she always did. But she wanted the sounding board that would be Alaistair. He’d been a hospitable host, and she was not ungrateful for his help thus far. She just hoped she could call upon his generosity once more, for this advice. [ Alaistair]

"Good! It should take much then," Alaistair replied delightfully! However, as she removed her scouter, she posed a question to Alaistair that the Devil felt a problem, but he kept quiet for the meantime. The SSE were preparing themselves for something big: A campaign of sorts! The Devil knew that this was tied to what happened last month, since Walker had battled and lost against the Solar Saiyan Empire! He stroked his beard, humming too. She didn't seem fond with Zucceta's rule, and at the moment, he wasn't quite able to fend up against her with his people, since Xylo split... However, Xylo was undoubtedly the target, and he wasn't too sure how Vennel would take it if he told her about the invasion to retake Namek from them. "Well... You're conflicted because of the actions committed by Zucceta, whom I'm imagining's in charge still even after that failure to take the Earth back then," Alaistair explained, looking up as he did. Having been a drunk and from what she told him, Alaistair felt he could tell her the story of Namek a bit! "Well, as you probably recall me saying when we drinking after we helped you out, I mentioned being in hell with Xylo, a Mazoku Namekian... We tried to take Namek last year and died attempting it to the SSE. He got some special treatment training there, while I simply decided to go around and start acquiring numbers. There's a long story behind that, but know that it's where I found that idiot Plato I brawled with out in the Desert earlier with that Tekuma girl! Anyway, we ended up returning, me a month earlier than Xylo so he could finish this special treatment, and I was scouting Namek meanwhile... Lo and behold, Xylo decides to start attempting conquest while certain individuals are distracted with something else important," Alaistair exclaimed with a stammer, clearly peeved a bit from it, "We had acquired the battle after defeating the defenders, one of them being whom killed Xylo, myself, and a saiyan named Kizuki! He had himself this really powerful ally, a thing of legendary prowess even among the gods and demons of this universe, which is also another story. Long story short: He threatened me off the planet and is probably the reason why the SSE is being mobilized. Judging by that, I am quite certain we pissed the Queen off and that's why you and all these soldiers are being called."He huffed out a breath, looking towards her and stating, "To answer your question of the call, that is up to you to decide! You have your loyalties to the SSE, and Namek is a planet that was part of the Centurial Peace treaty from a thousand years ago. What I did was put it back to the hands of the Namekians, although that Namekian's a bit out of touch with reality more than I. My question for you is do YOU want to answer this call?"( Vennel)

Vennel shrugged as Alaistair began with his supposition. As far as she knew, Zucceta was still in charge. Though she’d hoped someone would have rested control, or she at least had the where withal to step down after proving to be more huff than puff- so to speak. Still, it was a fair thing to consider. Could she handle working under Zucceta? Would that be too much for her pride? Or even more so, did she even feel like she could be a productive member of the Empire at large? She wasn’t sure, and listening to the explanation that Alaistair gave about the invasion of Namek, she seemed even more so displeased. It wasn’t the fact that Alaistair had foiled their plans. It meant he and his forces out maneuvered the Empire and proved to be worthy- no, superior, opponents. And that was worth commending. No, what she seemed more displeased by was the fact that Zucceta had broken interplanetary treaties in her quest for… what, her personal glory? It would have been different if she had succeeded. She’d have proved that the Saiyan Empire was ready to institute new law into the galaxy, but she had failed- which brought shame to their people. They were now oath breakers and defeated. As the sharply dressed man came to a close of his advice to her, story and all, she took a few moments to reflect upon his statements, before continuing. She’d been gone a long time, having lost her bid for the Imperial throne. But she felt something, at the corner of her mind, tugging on her. She wanted the best for her people, but so far they were lead by fools. They were at their strongest when she was in charge. And if she’d had a little more time to train herself, she felt sure that her first battle with Zucceta would have gone differently. Maybe, just maybe, it was time for her to actually try once more for the throne. “ If they merely aim to retake Namek, then they truly are circling the drain. Namek holds little to no strategic value, aside from those stupid wish granting orbs. But, if they have a more worthy cause, I may change my mind.” She glanced down at her hands, lost in thought. Her eyes traced the creases and patterns in her palms, as if in an almost meditative trance. Her attention snapped back moments later, her eyes focused on Alaistair. “ What if I told you I wanted the Imperial throne? I know I’m far from Zucceta’s strength. But if I were to train again- would you help me?” [ Alaistair ]

Alaistair's gaze remained fixed upon Vennel, as she thought about it. The hum of the gravity machine could be heard, as the thoughts were brought to. She spoke about Namek having little value, aside from the Dragon Balls. Alaistair was surprised she knew about them, before thinking, "Wait, did I mention them that night?"He shook his head, as he was posed with a question about retaking the throne on Vegeta from Zucceta! Alaistair blinked, a smile mixed with a disbelieving look upon his face present. He questioned, stammering, "Are you... Really?"The Devil looked Vennel up and down, stroking his chin as he muttered, baffled he just was asked by someone to assist them, which was part of his plan to begin with, "Normally I'm the one asking people for what they wish for... Hm... The answer is yes! I'll need to work out some conditions later for helping you back on the throne, but I shall definitely help you, you gorgeous future Queen!"( Vennel)

The saiyan woman watched as Alaistair seemed to act somewhat dumbfounded by her statement. Perhaps what she said did seem a bit shocking for some. It was even to herself. She had been running from her own woes about not being strong enough, but she’d realized: she couldn’t wallow in self pity forever. She needed to make a change, otherwise her people would be doomed to fail. Her head immediately nodded in response to Alaistair’s incredulity. As he wrapped up, agreeing to help her she smiled and nodded. She was glad that she could count on at least one ally. Now she just needed to see how best to go about preparing for- wait, what did he say?! Vennel seemed to have just as odd a reaction as the dandy did to her. He said specifically he’d help her “back,” onto the throne. Which meant- did he know she was once queen? Her brow furrowed as she listened to him finish speaking. A moment of silence, pregnant with the din of the machine enhancing the gravity, filled the room. “ So, how long did you know?” She wondered, had he just been humoring her this whole time? Or perhaps he’d learned of her status as the former queen only recently. Either way, he knew more about her than she let on, which made her ever more curious. [ Alaistair]

"... Eh?"The silence continued on in the room in the room, as Alaistair and Vennel stared each other eye to eye. He seemed to bounce back to what he said and what she just said, look to her, think about it again, and each time, his jaw seemed to creep more and more open! "I was trying to," he stammered, gawking at Vennel as he did, his partly gaping jaw, "State about getting you back to Vegeta... And... Putting you on the throne... Which you're familiar with because I thought you were... That would make sense with the- Oooooh..! OOOOH! THE PIECES ARE COMING TOGETHER! The armor, the clothing..."Alaistair brought his hand up to close his jaw, a wide grin on his face as cracked his neck, "This is gonna be some GOOOHOOHOOD motivation to get you out of your rut..."The Devil paused and bowed a bit, before uttering to Vennel, "Former Queen Vennel, and soon to return Queen! Shall we resume our little sparring session? I will explain a bit more, coincidentally involving the current Queen, Zucceta, and her loss at Earth!"( Vennel , that was purely accidental on my personal end, but lets roll with it!)

Stopping for a moment, the devil’s reaction made no sense to her. He seemed to be rambling to himself until suddenly coming to a conclusion. Wait- had he not known and merely his turn of phrase had made her paranoid over nothing? Worse yet, he’d pieced it together now and she had basically told him. Her head lowered, and her palm came up to meet her face, the universal sign for disappointment. She’d tried to keep it a secret until now, and had gone and just told someone inadvertently. Kriffing hell…Regaining her composure, she listened to Alaistair talk about getting her out of her rut. She couldn’t argue she’d been in one. But he also made note to bring up her title frequently and she let out an exasperated sigh. He wanted to resume their spar, presumably for the combination of her learning how to sense ki, and also for them both to train. “ Very well, we can continue our match, but on one condition: don’t bring up my desire to take the throne. I’m just a low class warrior. Nothing more.” Her scouter was no longer on her face, so she now was trying to feel Alaistair’s energy, unsure of how exactly one did this. Taking a deep breath, the warrior entered her familiar fighting stance, preparing to face off with the devil, letting him make the first move. [ Alaistair ]

Alaistair nodded in agreement as he straightened his posture and brought his hands up his hands in front of him. His hands didn't form fully into fists, and with the With Vennel having removed her scouter, she was going to be having difficulty gauging his strength. A small plume of a dark red aura would form around Alaistair, as he moved to the attack! His speed was notably higher, becoming more of a blur as Alaistair arrived to Vennel's side, aiming to strike her neck with a fist that had the fingers raised above the knuckle! His fingers were firm, and the way they were lined up, were providing a spearing motion! He'd stop an inch away, though, and backed away a few feet. With his hands brought to his sides, he began to pace around Vennel, as he spoke to her, "Before we can get to the sparring in full speed, let's get you familiar with sensing Energy. I just raised my strength just now and I am maintaining it now. What I want you to do is expand your energy into an aura right now, while closing your eyes. Keep them closed while this is happening and rely on your other senses! Sensing energy will come as your other senses are heightened further! Over the course of this, I will be annulling your senses more and more, until your body is forced to develop a new sense. For now, I want you to personally block off your sight. Ok?"( Vennel)

Vennel watched as her adversary shifted into a fighting stance of his own. Being in a battle position like this, she felt almost naked without the scouter over her eye. It was such an odd sensation, but one she quickly stowed to focus on the task at hand. Alistair’s ki seemed to surge, given the visual demonstration of his- she wondered though, by how much? She didn’t have to wonder for long, though, as Alaistair sped toward her faster than she’d seen before. Her eyes, however, were able to track his movements, until he seemed to become like a blur in her vision. This is where having her scouter’s HUD would have come in handy. She turned her head, but only after Alaistair had fallen short of his attack. She maintained her stance though, merely looking back at him. He’d stopped his attack, when he could have hit her. Perhaps then he merely was trying to prove a point? He began to explain that he wanted her to close her eyes, and reach out using her energy. She decided it best to listen to him, at least for now. She may be stubborn but he wasn’t wrong that she likely needed to learn this ability. Come to think of it, she thought back on how many of the more powerful individuals she’d been around had no scouter, or at least didn’t wear one prominently. Was this technique really so fundamental? Perhaps she had been missing polish on her basic abilities. Perhaps that’s why her power had fallen behind. The saiyan warrior closed her eyes, her ki bubbling up and then exploding out, to display her aura. It was less about increasing her power level, and more so exerting pressure outwardly, with her own aura. She had fought blind before, keen to use her sense of smell, hearing, and even touch. So she was not unfamiliar with this, and wondered how Al would take away her other senses, as he claimed. But one thing she happened to notice, was that she could almost feel the area around her? It was weird, less like she felt the area around her, and more that she felt herself being all over the place. Maybe since she’d become more in tune with her own ki and feeling it better, and having thrown up her aura, she was feeling something akin to sonar with her ki? An interesting idea, and worth noting for later. “ Alright, I’m ready when you are…” [ Alaistair]

(For the OOC PL clarification for you, Alaistair just pumped his energy up to 45,000 my last post!) Energy plumed from the former queen, not reaching Alaistair fully. She certainly had a lot of energy hidden behind that heavy vest of hers! Alaistair remained quiet, floating off the ground with a small tap of his feet. His long tail wrapped around Alaistair's right leg, too, just to be certain no sound would be made! This wouldn't totally inert her hearing, but it was a start. His breath was even held, his expression solemn and observant as he floated closer to Vennel! Alaistair leaned in, hands still behind him as he neared her face! He lifted his hand up, hovering it just an inch away from her face, more towards her ear. He remained there, silent his hand lingering just there. Only the hum of the gravity machine could be heard in the next minute! Alaistair messaged her mind, to keep the communication going, and to also keep his position secret, "Now, where am I, in relation to you? Can you tell what I am doing right now?"( Vennel)

Her senses reached out, trying to hear, smell the devil near her. But she couldn’t hear him, for he was making no soun. She couldn’t smell him, it seemed like perhaps he was using olfactory blockers? Or maybe the smell of her own sweat was what masked his unfamiliar scent. Her eyes were closed, and her head turned about. Her own ki was radiating not far from her body, but it alone gave her the ability to sense fluctuations in the area around her. And when Alaistair came close to her, she could indeed feel him, or more accurately, she could sense where she couldn’t feel her own energy. His mind echoed through her head, or rather, words from it. He was curious if she knew where or what he was doing. He was near her, that much was certain, and it felt like he was doing something? It was like trying to see an image in the negative space of another image, only trying to feel gaps in your own presence. But as she tried to think it over, she noticed his arm was lifted? At least that’s what it felt like. Her arm darted up to try and snag his outstretched hand. If she succeeded, that’d be one thing taken care of. But of course, he could always move it, and she doubted she’d be able to track his movements so well and so soon if he did. Yes, I can.Her mind responded in thought to him, wondering if his thoughts were still transmitting to her. But still, she was making marked progress, and that was something to be proud of in it’s own way. But it wasn’t good enough, not if she wanted to use this ki sense reliably. [ Alaistair ]

A quick grab was sent to Alaistair's hand, which the Devil moved away before she could grab! He backed up, nodding too, as he vocally spoke, "Good! Now let's get that sensation extended outwards... Actually, on that whole disabling thing, don't worry about that. Simply focus on your awareness of energy," he explained to Vennel, thinking about his statement from earlier. "I want you to think of this," he continued, "The main core sense, of all the senses, is the sense of touch. Light much touch upon our eyes and the environment for us to see, gases must touch upon our nostrils to smell, food must touch upon our taste buds to taste, and particles must vibrate and touch upon our eardrums to hear. In order to develop your sense of energy, you have to feel the difference of energy between yourself, the environment around you and even the chamber, I should point out... And of course my energy!"Alaistair walked up to Vennel, forming a ball of ki in his hand. The energy was well compacted like a snowball, yet it held a great amount of kinetic energy inside! Alaistair beckoned the former and future Queen, "I would like you to form your own energy ball and simply hold it in your hand and get familiar with how it is. Then, I want you to feel up this one with your free hand, while you're still holding out your own energy! When one uses their energy like we do, we portray an emotion of intent. Our desire... But first, I want you to try and get a grasp of my ball!"( Vennel, this may have come out a bit awkward and I apologize in advance.)

The devil’s hand evaded her grasp. She felt his hand move away, but it was like the reaction time of a drunk. In this case, a blind one, but her intoxication- or lack thereof, wasn’t the hinderance. Her jury-rigged method for sensing someone’s actions with ki left her a bit of a delay, especially with how unfamiliar with the idea when was. Alaistair told her to not worry about the loss of sensation, likely because he was still in her mind and could detect the curiosity around that. Instead, he told her to see all sensations as an extension of the sense of touch. How all things involve coming into contact with others. It was an interesting idea, because Vennel now had a new way to think of things. Instead, she would have to try and feel how his ki reacted to hers. And that was probably the one way to frame sensing energy that made sense to the Saiyan. When Alaistair extended his arm, ki gathered into an orb in it. She thought she could feel something, like a sudden shift, or change in the shape of the surrounding ki near her. Vennel of course, didn’t know for certain what he was doing, but when he told her to “grasp his ball,” she had to stifle a chuckle in response. He likely didn’t intend it the way it came off, but it wasn’t the first time a man had said as such to her, though that was sort of aside the point. But he said she should try and form her own sphere of ki, and see how it interacts with it’s surroundings, namely his own ki sphere, that she had a faint feeling for. So, quickly pooling her ki into her hand, she lifted it up and extended it out toward Alaistair, or where she felt him, rather. Her own ki, connected with his, and she felt the way it reacted to hers. It was like the two ki energies echoed each other, and that echo was what she had to “sense.” ( Energy Sensing learned.) “ I think I have the gist of it. Our energy leaves an echo, and feeling those echoes react to my own energy-that’s what you’re trying to tell me, right?” [ Alaistair ]
