It was a warm day on Konats, the streets of their capital bloodied with the savage war roaming through their streets. It left her wanting to stay away from the bloodshed; she had been in a near death fight of her own with a psychopathic mother and her gullible daughter. A shiver ran down her spine as she remembered the house being engulfed in flames, a flashback to the flames that had taken her parents away from her. Anger rose in her mechanical heart; she was on the homeworld of the murderer.
It'd seemed fine to be here, but when she'd gotten here and interacted with those two redheads and the psychotic lavender-haired lady, it made her want to go back home and continue her research on anatomic structure. However, this place was in the space boonies, she had no ship, and there was always the possibility of studying the biology of the life on this planet. The thought made her curious, and surely it wouldn't hurt to investigate a little bit; she'd be doing something productive.
Getting up from her position on a smooth rock, she took a small handful of dirt and began sifting it through her mechanical fingers; of which picked up on some of the molecules and structures within the compound. That one looks similar to a Carbon and Oxygen ring molecule... a covalent bond if there ever was one, looks like it anyhow. If I had a lab, maybe I could study these further. Shortly after, an idea popped in her head that made her grin. Whipping out a capsule, a soft boom and storage containers would appear along with some duct tape and a permanent marker.
Getting to work, she took some of the soil and placed it in a container, labeling it and setting it off to the side neatly. She'd take a few leaves from a nearby tree, a piece of bark, and a small root trimming from the root that was sticking out of the ground. Placing them in separate containers with their own labels, so far everything was on a roll. If she could get a blood donation from a Konatsian, it would greatly help her research but she wasn't exactly the kind of person to ask random people for blood samples.
Musing quietly, the hybrid cyborg put her hand to her chin. It detected her chemical makeup to which she couldn't help but chuckle at; served her right for touching her own skin while the arm was on sensor and identification mode. Being a cyborg wasn't exactly all that bad, from her records she'd been this way for about two months, growing intellectually under the guidance of the BBA and her own curious experimenting. After putting the samples in a container and recalling them into the capsule, she felt like she was being watched..
Turning around, she noticed a pale old Konatsian gazing at her with a small smile on her face. "Hello child. You seem to be collecting things for experiments, if I'm correct?" He chuckled lightly at the freaked out expression on the girl's face, to which the hybrid swallowed and meekly nodded. "Yes sir.. I work for the Blue Banner.." The name of the Earth's protective force being here, on this war-stricken world, was something unprecedented for the man. Why was the BBA here, of all places? Were they going to help fight in the war against the cybernetic overtakers and their dummy king?
Tekuma noticed the faint glimmer of hope in his eyes, biting her lip quietly. She didn't want to crush his hopes but she couldn't leave him to believe something not true. "Sir.. I must inform you before your thoughts get too far out of hand, that we aren't here to fight.. Even then, I'm not a fighter, I'm a scientist. I don't know how to fight worth a damn." The pale-faced male put a hand to his chin in thought after she finished speaking, thinking about what she'd said.
Curious, the teenager android looked at the man, who chuckled slightly and spoke. "Pardon me, miss. My name is Kashier, and I'm one of the scientists that was pushed out of their position during the war between our old king and the Kashvarr. Might I ask the name of a lady like yours?" The word Kashvarr wasn't something Tekuma had ever heard of, so after he was done speaking she replied with a friendly tone. "My name is Tekuma Mayakon, pleasure to meet you Kashier. Out of curiosity, what is/are the Kashvarr?"
The question posed by the girl with no detectable ki was something difficult to answer, so after a bit of awkward silence he began to attempt to explain exactly what and who the Kashvarr were. "Well, miss Tekuma.. the Kashvarr are a cruel people that enslave and kill the Konatsians like us. They enjoy senseless murder and torture, we are often used to satisfy their desires to maim." Sighing, the man rubbed the back of his neck before continuing.
"Thankfully, our old king despite his incompetence had the right idea to kill off most of the Kashvarr. We had some peace, until there was an invasion. Two Saiyans, one a brutish male and the other a female had landed close by and shortly after came a talking fire tree and a hybrid. The tree murdered the female Saiyan and a man with a brain in a liquid container killed the brute." Shuddering at the feeling of the tree's massive power, the man continued.
"It seemed the hybrid and the tree got into an argument, resulting in the beheading of the male hybrid through the tree's portal powers." Tekuma had froze, eyes wide at the remembrance of feeling that ki he spoke of. It was the ki of the tree man, he'd killed a lot of people from the looks of it but for what reason? Why? Does he like murder, like the Kashvarr? He's not the being I thought him to be, he's crazy.. The girl couldn't help but shiver, remembering her close proximity with the bio-android. I'm lucky I'm still alive!
Kashier saw the fear in the eyes of the demonic cyborg, tilting his head in concern as he kneeled beside her. "What troubles you, young lady? If you desire, I could teach you to fight like I was taught so long ago. I'm old, my time is coming to join the Kashvarr soon in the afterlife. If I could make a contribution somehow to the forces of good, it'd make death a lot easier." She listened, tilting her head as she processed his offer. It seemed like an honest and fair one; getting tutelage in the arts of fighting would likely make her life a lot easier, because for some reason she seemed to end up getting murdered or near murdered.
"Alright, seems fair. Just.. please don't kill me. I've had enough of almost dying for the rest of my life." An eye roll accompanied her last statement, rising along with the man who took a few steps back from her. "Listen up. To fight properly you must be in full control of your body, your will, and your soul. Without control over these three things, you won't be what you could be if these were in harmony under your mind. The mind is a powerful weapon, it may control these three things to you but in all reality, they resist the pull of the mind."
The android listened intently, gazing at the wise old man who proceeded to suddenly sit down and gesture her to do the same. "You have untapped potential, young one. Before you can begin to harmonize these, you must first become one with the surrounding area. Listen.. there's a sound, even in silence, that speaks to those who wish to hear it. Close your eyes, breathe slowly and deeply, and become one with the life around you."
Closing her eyes, she did exactly as the man did and began meditating. The silence echoed around her, the sounds of her breathing and the wind soon becoming nonexistent to her ears.. but instead, there was something else. Not trivial sound, not ringing of the ears, but there was something there. She was slowly beginning to hear the sound of silence itself, an elusive sound very few heard, yet for some reason, it seemed to speak to her. It sent shivers down her spine, yet she did not feel them. She felt the soil beneath her, the wind blowing around her.
Kashier smiled as he noticed her picking up on what he was telling her, putting a hand to his chin. For a girl with no ki, she's a pretty smart learner.. she must be an android.. Tapping her shoulder to shake the girl out of it, Tekuma would gaze back up at the man curiously. He spoke once more, gesturing for her to rise. "You learn well. Now, to get on with the teaching. Now that you have learned to meditate to some extent, I will leave you to figure out what to do next in that area. As for now, I must test your current fighting capabilities before I train you. Come at me, miss Mayakon."
Gulping, the young hybrid cyborg took a few steps back, having seen some people fight before she threw a hook right at his face. It barely hurt him, and he gazed blankly at her. "I said come at me. Do you really only know this basic of a fight structure? Look.." He swiftly uppercut her jaw and sent her careening through the air and onto the ground; albeit she was heavier than he expected. "You must learn this. Your stance was all wrong, the hook left your neck and face wide open for interpretation."
Kashier's eyes narrowed, his gaze sharp like a schoolteacher. "Miss Mayakon, what are some of the most vital parts of the body?" The question was aimed at her knowledge of biology and to see if she knew what was some of the most vital parts of the body were. "The neck, head, and chest of course.." Replied the girl, before realizing exactly how stupid she'd been to leave all three of those open.
However, Kashier sunk into a battle stance with his legs spread slightly, bending his knees and putting one of his hands in a clawed position at his chest. "This position gives me leg room to run from an opposing punch, and to catch any possible stray projectiles aimed for my chest." Notably, the same was true for his other hand close by his face. "My other hand allows me to catch or block stray attacks or projectiles with the intent of beheading me. Do you understand?"
The teenager nodded, attempting to mimic his stance but ended up getting her leg positions wrong. Walking over, the Konastian would push and pull her legs and put a hand on her back to bend her knees; the stance semi comfortable once she got it right. "Good miss Mayakon. You are doing okay for now, but it is time to continue our fight." With that, he'd leap at her and move to punch her in the face, to which the BBA cyborg reacted swiftly by grabbing his punch. A sense of danger would allow her to grab his other fist, which was aimed at her sternum. The two were locked in a battle already, and so far she was picking up on it quickly.
They would continue to fight, Tekuma picking up on the correct stances and his way of fighting, beginning to mimic his style and move swiftly. Blows were exchanged, one for one as the two fought to keep their advantage over the other. Determination burned in her eyes, delivering a rapid flurry of blows and a roundhouse kick to the shoulder joint which caused him to collapse. Looking up at the hybrid, the Konatsian male continued their fight rather swiftly with a punch that was blocked by her hand.
Grabbing his hand with both of her hands, the girl began spinning at crazy speeds before throwing him up into the air. Dazed, Kashier had no time to react as she zoomed towards him and locked her fists together, smashing them into his head and sending him hurtling into the ground. Putting up a surrendering hand after a while of getting knocked around by the cyborg, Tekuma sighed and calmed herself down as he spoke. "Very well done, you have passed the test.."
With that, a wind encircled him before carrying him off, the man disappearing like he was merely a figment of the wind this entire time.. Was.. I just taught by a spirit? Today was pretty weird, including the disappearing man that had taught her quite a lot. The girl walked away, before heading towards the landing zone where Cipher and Aina's ships were. She wanted food.
