History:
Birth—a process with great variance from the many races that grace our Universe. You have births that can make a girl squeal in joy upon witnessing, as that of a baby bird fighting to escape its egg. On the other hand, you have those that leave a man squeamish from merely watching. Like witnessing a human female in delivery, even if it is his own wife and child. Such experiences range from true adorableness to being utterly repulsive. On the day Maki entered our world, Namek experienced both.
On one glorious day 22 years ago, or so Namek thought the day would be, was the morning of birthing. Many eggs were set to hatch, to give life to many future Namekians who would shape the future and help Namek prosper. The single parents, as all Namekians are, gathered their eggs into one area, and each had their batch near them. However, one strange looking egg was left out. Everyone swore it was not theirs, and truth be told, no one was lying.
As the eggs began to hatch, the process fit the description of earlier. Instead of birds, baby Namekians fought their way through the outer shell, escaping to face life. A both beautiful, and magical occasion. An occasion that was however interrupted. What began flawlessly, and filled with nothing but joy and laughter, was soon overwhelmed with an uproar of crying. All the children in one fell swoop broke out into tears and screaming as the final egg began to break open. Not only did the egg hold no resemblance to the rest, it also secreted a green smoke. No one dared to near smokes reach.
As the years went by, Maki, the creature which formed from the unclaimed egg, had no parent, no family, and no friends. He became known by many as the Mutant Namekian. It wouldn’t be until he was ten years old that he met what he would call his first friend. The meeting was most unnatural, and the strangest of interactions came about between the two, as most would expect with an individual making his first friend at ten years of age. However, that is for a different time. What’s important isn’t their initial meeting, but what came later on with their goals.
Maki, an outcast on account of irregularities, finally met one he could call friend. As fate would have it, this friend named Coric, had some abnormalities of his own. He was unlike any other Namekian that Maki ever encountered, he accepted him. Coric of the Mazoku clan, and Maki, the Mutant Namekian formed a bond that only the ridiculed and exiled could understand. It was indestructible, for if they didn’t have each other, they had no one—for now. If they were to achieve their dream, they would have to find others they could trust, and others that would accept them and their anomalies.
The goal—the actual dream of Maki and Coric was usurping the Guru of Namek himself. While Guru may have not been the one to hurl insults, or ever went out of his way to inflict physical or emotional harm on either Maki or Coric, they found him to be just as guilty as the insinuators. No Guru in recent history has tried to make sure everyone has an equal opportunity to being accepted on the Namekian planet. Why would they? What benefit does it bring to them? But if Maki and Coric could find a way to get the typical Namekian Guru’s out of office, and have someone, for instance, from the Mazoku Clan take the reins, then this inequality could shift. Then individuals born like Coric and Maki wouldn’t have to be outsiders anymore. They could prevent those born on Namek suffering the same fate they have.
It was not too long ago though, that a group tried to achieve a goal similar to what Maki and Coric wanted. However, they were mere brutes and no brains. Their cause may have aligned with Maki a bit, which did have him and Coric wishing for them to succeed, but the way they went about it was foolhardy. It was still a tough pill to swallow when the duo learned of the death of the trio that attempted to take a stand. Yet, it was sort of expected, especially when the Saiyan Solar Empire (SSE) became involved. Not only did the Namekian Guru not try and help those suffering on his planet like Coric and Maki, but he enlisted aide from other planets to help deal with those who wish to take a stand for what is just.
“Coric?” Maki signaled, “There is no reason to feel down about this failure. I know we didn’t make it to help, but if we did, we would have died as well.” With a nod of his head, Maki continued, “We didn’t make it because we are meant to live on. Our lives have a purpose still, and we learned today that the purpose requires not only great strength of physical and spiritual prowess, but of the mind as well. We live on because we are meant to succeed!”
A Guru that doesn’t look to aide his own unless they are pure of abnormalities? A Guru who requires outside help to solve his problems, as he never prepared to be self-sufficient on the planet he runs? Merely a Guru who is too lazy to do what is right. A Guru that is much too weak. A Guru who must fall. A Guru that will fall. Long live the band of misfits, for they are the only ones who can make things right.
