- Personality -
Chai did not grow up in the world most did. Hailing from Universe 5, the goat zoan grew up in a world far beyond saving. He is rather mysterious to most people of the World Of Dragonball Souls, due to his unease to share anything about himself. He is level-headed, well mannered, and somewhat pacifistic, yet also stoic and impassive to things others might flip out about. Chai has seen many horrors in his world, and has grown detached from the world around him. He's used to seeing starving people on the streets, people perishing as if they were in a slaughterhouse, and submission that could nearly be considered slavery. Chai grew up in a scary place, to say the very least.
Chai is a big secret-keeper. He hides the fact that he's from another universe. Half of the people he may tell this secret probably will not believe his ludicrous story, though. He doesn't talk or show his emotions to others often. He's more on the reserved and introverted side, but that doesn't mean he does not try to make some time for some crazy shenanigans or time to help others. Chai can be a little over dramatic at times, and is horrible at naming things- he always comes up with a stupid pun name or something overly cheesy. Stemming from his mentor, he does tend to... be a little over the top at times when he does let his guard down. That is, if you can get Chai to shed his armor.
Truth be told, Chai is a big fuzzy pushover at heart. He's grown tired of fighting after seeing so much death and despair in his own world, and prefers pacifism over violence. He prefers to talk things out, but will gladly fight and destroy the people he despises, like the president of his universe. He has a soft spot for the kiddies and will gladly help anyone in need, though he doesn't always take into consideration the fact that he might be helping someone evil. Chai looks at things from all different angles to devise flexible plans in the moment. He always looks for alternate ways to do things, making them either easier or more challenging. He comes up with many ideas on the spot, albeit sometimes crazy ones. He has always been quite diligent and effective as a member of the Rebellion in Universe 5, following his emotions and doing what feels right. He can act very haphazardly at times.
Chai is capable of quiet fear, but is a very prideful being, and refuses to beg or panic in any situation. He does his best to talk himself through situations and stay calm. His calamity is a great strength. If covers his fear and is much more useful than his great speed or blasts of Ki- it allows him to think in battle. He remains steady in the face of anything, always able to formulate the best plan of action when he knows action can be taken, whatever it may be. he has an enormous sense of bravery and responsibility because of this. Maybe it's because he's seen so much and is just not phased by the new world he's in, or has just given up.
Still, Chai can be a little too trusting and friendly. He'll hate other peoples guts and hold grudges for a VERY long time if they give him a good reason to, though. is incredibly playful, open, and cheery. At his core, Chai just wants to live in peace in his own world, and just let everyone else be happy. He doesn't care much about himself, and is a big people-pleaser. He commonly fogets to eat lunch or dinner while he's out exploring, helping others, or just trying to find a way to fix his home... Chai misses his friends from his universe deeply. He sees most of the Z-Fighters in a negative light, due to their actions in his world. Chai never takes things for granted. Every ounce of help, every crumb of food, it's all worth it. And he is thankful that he managed to escape his timeline, but does intend to return eventually when he has a fighting chance to fix his world.
Despite sometimes brooding or just being kind of angsty at times, Chai is a very hopeful and optimistic person. He managed to hang onto what little hope the Rebellion had left after Articho Perished, and trusted the fact that a totally legit, unfinished universe hopping machine would work. Even at the brink of death, he won't give up. Chai knows what he is fighting for, who he is, but has not come at peace with himself just yet. He tends to beat himself up a lot over his failures, and has a hard time moving on and forgetting about hard times. It's not like he will show when someone or something has gotten under his skin, though. Fake it till you make it.
Chai is secretive and will barely ever tell someone his past or the fact that he's from another timeline. He's convinced people will not believe him, anyways. He might open up to it about some of the present versions of his future friends, but it's a super touchy subject that still impacts Chai. He feels guilty for leaving his friends behind and escaping alone in a doomed world, without a leader.

- Techniques -
[N1] Spectrum Shield
Putting one or both of his hands forward, a multicolored glow forms in Chai's hands. He creates a shield which is white in the center, but branches out into a multitude of colors that curve into a sphere over his body. This attack can protect multiple people, and himself. The Kaleidoscopic Barrier charges at 33% intervals, and can be charged five times. Any bleed-through damage is halved completely. He took inspiration for from his mentor, Jax's "Seigi to kibō no bōseki kōgeki" attack.
[SU1] Force PalmChai puts a hand forward towards an oncoming attack. Instead of merely dodging or reflecting it, the Zoan parts an oncoming ki attack around his body, or just bluntly stops a punch or kick. This doesn't fully stop giant beam attacks, as Chai just lets them go around him instead of hitting him. If he wants to fully stop an attack or protect more than one person, he will have to use his trusty barrier technique.
[UT] Ki SenseDo I really need to explain this? Yes? Okay then. Chai can sense the very life force of others, and identify people from a distance based on their Ki signatures. He can measure strength and can detect powers from other planets if they are strong enough. Stronger Kis can be sensed more easily and from longer distances, and smaller Kis are harder to pick up on.
- Items -
One-Use Pod
The now broken universe-hopping time machine Chai used to come to the World of Dragonball Souls. It is broken beyond repair, and the materials needed to fix it will not be discovered for many more years. It can still fly around, and Chai might get one more use out of it to fly to a planet before it breaks for good.Guardia (5,000 PL Guard)
-500 Starter Zeni
-500 Starter Zeni
A magical, talking sword with a conscious. In reality, a demonic spirit has posses and has been tied to the sword, becoming corporeal with it's new body. Chai found the demonic sword in the possession of Earth's Special Forces during a raid, and decided to take the sword for his own. Guardia is a rather snarky and sassy blade, with comments as piercing as his edge at his disposal. He's quite knowledgeable, having been around around a thousands years. The blade does tease Chai any chance he gets though, but knows to be delicate with the edgelord goat he stuck with as a companion. He and Guardia form a rather efficient team- both know when to get serious in battle and stop joking around.

- OOC Information-
OOC Name: Sketch
Other Characters: Capper Hofferson
OOC Notes: Kaula , Jax Punchlust , Collan Vixen , Fleece , Kazar Winters , Defrosch , Etoru , Levlidian , and Bing Gan have all given me permission to reference the AU versions of their characters in Chai's history in this thread! I know this is a super touchy idea for a backstory, but I hope I did it right! The world Chai lived in will be much more fleshed out in his BP as well. I hope to provide a better idea of what the Rebellion was like and how everyone was doing in the doomed world.

CHAI - EDGELORD FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE
APPEARANCE
Chai is a zoanthrope that takes the form of a white Nubian goat. His ears are long and droopy, and he has a pair of curled white horns that have the texture and look of tree bark- although they are a pale white pigment. His hair parts in the middle, pointing to the side and parting above his forehead. It too is white and blends in with his milky white fur. The zoanthrope is a whopping seven feet tall and towers over most. He weighs two hundred and fifty pounds, though he can lift much more than his body weight. His body has some muscle to it, though it is covered by his clothes. His Ki is a bright orange color. One of his eyes was completely gouged out in a fight, leaving him half blind. There's nothing but a hollow hole where it once was.
Chai wears a tattered, inky black, long sleeved robe with a hood. It is held in place by a green cloth tied around his waist. He has two parcels, one wrapped around his torso and the other wrapped around his waist. The zoanthrope keeps food and other snacks in the top pouch, and some small gadgets like a grappling hook and tape recorder in his other bag. He wears a long gray shirt under his coat, with a white zipper down the middle. The goat zoanthope wears brown leather bracers around his arms. His long green pants are very baggy, and are curled up at the ends. Chai sometimes wears boots, other times he might go barefoot. His boots are brown with black rims. He has a green bandanna wrapped around his neck, which usually covers his mouth. He wears a pair of brown goggles to finish off the look.
You see, the Earth in this world is not the sanctuary it is known to be. It is a planet of despair and living nightmares, and the source of everything bad in the universe. Fate had other plans for the would-be Guardian of the Earth in the first universe. Instead of being raised by his father, Bing Gan was taken by his mother when he was young. He was raised much more harshly as a jarring opportunist and nearly malicious fighter, with plenty of power to back up his ideals.
Chai was born before the poop hit the fan. He was raised like any other earthling- he went to school, got good grades, but was an antisocial dweeb that likes to sit down in his room and watch action anime and cartoons while practicing rather pathetic fighting moves. He was perfectly happy without any friends, but life was boring amd he always wanted to have some sort of adventure- like the heroes in the TV shows he watched did! What he would give to live an exciting life instead of blending into the crowd... Well boy, did he ever regret wishing for an adventure later on.
Chai was only thirteen when the Battle of the West came around. His village was very close to the battleground where Bing was fighting with Vi-Poi and Reikiko, with the aid of his right-hand man, Athren. Chai's parents were killed during the battle as Ki blasts were exchanged and reflected- some into the village below- and Chai himself was struck by an attack. The young goat-kid lay bleeding out on the ground, just one of the mass of civilian casualties that would be forgotten to time. Or, that's what would have happened, if it weren't for a certain groovy purple-suited man finding the white goat bleeding out, his pale fur stained with red splotches. Chai just felt someone picking up his small body before he lost consciousness...
Chai's savior came in the form of Jax Punchlust. The man had seen his own father killed in front of him, and pitied the now orphaned goat boy. Unlike the Jax of the First Universe, the doomed world has shaped him into a more serious man, but a hopeful and optimistic one that still found some time for his wacky shenanigans. After that, the goat boy lived with Jax at his home rather peacefully- the two decided it was best to stay out of the conflict and save their strength for another day. Later on, the duo caught ear of a rebellion against the malicious Earth's president. Chai and Jax joined the Crimson Strikers, but all the weak goat zoan did was hang around the Rebellion's base, watching the hopeful fighters spar with each other, just like they did on the TV shows he watched before all of this. Trusting Jax the most out of all the fighters that resisted the rule of the president, he begged for the man to train him. While he was a little reluctant to be sending a mere child like Chai into battle, the man agreed to train the goat.
Chai was trained by Jax, and developed a rather... unpredictable fighting style. In the apocalypse, he learned to expect the unexpected. Seeing starving or dead corpses littering the streets of poverty-ridden villages in the shadow of bustling cities was the norm nowadays. He even made his own effective variant of his mentor's colorful shield technique. Heck, the goat boy even managed to get some tips from the Rebellion's leader, Kaula. The saiyan hybrid was their strongest fighter- and had achieved the powerful state of a Super Saiyan Two.
Kaula's family on Earth had always been a bit weary of President Bing when he took power. When they had learned of their attack on the Saiyan Solar Empire, the young and eager Kaula was more than happy to spring into action with her aunts and cousins to go provide assistance to their family on Vegeta. They arrived in the middle of the battle - and it was a brutal one. Kaula ended up being enough of a nuisance that President Bing himself set off to take care of her. During their extremely one-sided battle Kaula was forced into a false Super Saiyan state in order to try to protect her family.
Till Bing had decided he had grown tired of their battle. He fired a powerful blast at the group - but due to her aunt's quick thinking, Kaula was spared from it (mostly). Her head had been struck by a large piece of Shrapnel. With her Aunt and Cousins dead - Kaula's grief overcame her and she was forced into the true Super Saiyan state. She still proved to be too weak against Bing. He took her right arm and left her for dead.
However death would not come for Kaula - her mother, who happened to survive the battle, retrieved her daughter and nursed her back to health.
Years later, Kaula has managed to ascend past that of a normal Saiyan and has developed a form the likes of which this universe has never seen- save for the power of the President. She leads one of the larger bands of rebels against President Bing called the Crimson Strikers.
One day during a stealth raid on a Capsule Corporation building to get some supplies, Chai stumbled upon an old sword in the storage department of the modern building. Picking it up, he was shocked when the blade actually SPOKE, promptly telling the rebel to "fuck off." After the initial shock, Chai explained himself to the magical blade, despite his confusion on how the inanimate became animate. After explaining how he was part of the Crimson Striker, the sword, named Guardia, was overjoyed to see Chai. The blade had inconspicuously eavesdropped on the ESF and Capsule Corp employees, and heard some gossip about the Crimson Strikers- any group that wanted to fix this cruddy world was a welcomed one in Guardia's nonexistant eyes. From that day forward, Chai hung onto the sword, which he later found out to be a demonic spirit possessing a blade.
Still, it was odd- seeing a seven foot tall ninja goat as a pupil of a rather scrawny warrior. Nonetheless, Chai supported his mentor, Jax, and quickly came to his defense whenever Bing's forces tried to extinguish the small flame that was the Crimson Strikers. They were a band of outcasts that persisted despite their dwindling efforts. There was Fleece, one of Chai's closer friends- the panda zoanthrope had provided the rebellion with plenty of spaceships and served as an informant and spy in the ESF with his mastered shapeshifting powers. Collan, another follower of the rebellion, was another friend of Chai's. The two would commonly spar and chat together, and always kept eachother going in dark times. A man named Kazar Winters, whom worked for the Capsule Corporation for a short time before Bing took over, managed to steal several blueprints and smuggle them over to the Crimson Strikers, providing them with more gear to fight back with. Still, it was not much compared to the finished prototypes the ESF had. But any help was graciously accepted by the Crimson Strikers.
However, during a assault on the ESF, Kaula fought Bing once more, but perished to the hands of the President. Chai stepped up in her place, and led the Rebellion for a short while. Truth be told, it was hard to fill the gaping hole left by Kaula. Everyone had lost a little hope when he perished to the president. If she lost to him, who could beat him? Chai tried to keep hopes high, but there always was a little something missing after their founder left them.
One fateful day when Chai was out gathering supplies in the Spinach Wastes, the goat zoan came across an abandoned barn. Walking inside to get some supplies, he found the starved corpse of a small saiyan technician, and several spherical robots that had all ran out of battery. Walking over with morbid curiosity, the Zoanthrope took a look inside what he presumed to be the dead saiyan's notebook. Inside were plans for all sorts of high-tech machinery, herbal recipes for pain relief and healing, and what really rattled the goat zoanthrope was a plan for a universe-hopping time machine. Taking the plans back to base, everyone ran with the hope that these plans were legit, and began work on the machine. Icarus had helped Chai build the machine, along with many others.
But when it was nearly finished, the ESF had heard about such the time machine, thanks to Etoru catching wind of several rumors about it and tattling on them to Bing. Wanting to take it for their own, they uncovered and stormed the Rebellion's base. Bing himself showed up with most of the Z-Fighters, wanting to put down the rebellion once and for all. Chai and Co. fought endlessly, but to no avail. Desfrosh, a member of Earth's Special Forces, managed to gouge out the zoan's eye in the fight, and brought it to Bing as proof of the leader's death. He had toyed with the weak Zoanthrope leader. Chai was scarred, both physically and mentally after the battle. The reality of how hopeless the Rebellion was had sunk in during his fight with Desfrosch. Even after loosing his eye, Chai was alive- but barely. He managed to limp to the hidden time machine, deciding to take a chance and activate the unfinished machine. With a magnificent flash of light, he was whisked to another world, far, far away. When he would wake up with nothing to go back to, the Zoanthrope will find himself in a new world- but for the better or worse?

HISTORY
Ah, the infinite multiverse. The vast world that contains many universes, within universes. It has thousands of worlds, millions of timelines, and billions of lives. For the most part, each universe exists free of the knowledge of the many others that exist among them. There is the universe you know- within it the mostly benevolent Earthlings have triumphed over every threat that comes their way. Realigner Red, The Saiyan Invasion, and even the more recent threat of the mechanized Ex-Guardian of the Earth. All of the universe's fighters now live in relative harmony with eachother- galactic peace is well on it's way to the World of Dragonball Souls. But there exists another universe among the many that occupy the timespace continuum. What lives have been lived, what secrets are hidden, and what stories have been told? Well, let's take a look into this world, shall we?You see, the Earth in this world is not the sanctuary it is known to be.
