Satan City Reprise: Curtain Call
— Power level: 20k ; hw 5000
This was one of those nights. The kind where Noxa couldn’t get any sleep. It wasn’t because of the occasional deafening clamor outside — the crashing thunder that shook Noxa’s nest. It was neither the sound of the cataclysmic thunderclaps nor the incessant drumming brought by the monsoon. The reason for Noxa’s sleepless struggle was within her own head.
The Bio-Android laid in the darkness. She was enclosed in the small 8 foot by 4-foot nest — a combination of building material and dry wall mushed together into a type of iceless igloo. Her scarlet hair writed in the black, reflecting the turmoil of her thoughts. Why was she here? On Earth? It was because she’d been hunted from her home. She was pushed from her birth planet by hunting parties; the two warrior factions on Zilyana, her home world, had put together a temporary truce to eliminate her. To put an end to Noxa’s sphere or consumption. That was the first time she’d run. She felt no shame then. She understood that she could not thrive in a world united against her.
Noxa justified her escape to Earth. ‘It’ll be different there’. She assured herself, ‘I’ll be smarter. I won’t make enemies. I’ll end those who become aware of my existence!’
Things didn’t change; things were the same here. She ran from one city after clearing out a noisy night club. She ran from a small paramilitary force after having devoured one or two low ranking members.
She didn’t want to run anymore.
Her thoughts turned to the city she now called home; her thoughts turned to Satan City. The sleepless Bio-Android couldn’t exactly say why, but she liked it here. The city was lively, and selfish. No one cared about the disappearance of some random thugs. No one cared about the occasional homeless gone missing here or there. The willing ignorance of the people fed her well. The law enforcement here was not much different; between corruption and laziness Noxa had managed to go largely undetected through their radar.
In a concrete jungle so decadent you’d imagine criminal syndicates would thrive, right? Well, Noxa was starting to realize exactly why that wasn’t the case. Self-appointed ‘heroes’ more than made up for all of the incompetence of local government and their toothless guard dogs. These self-important jerks with an unreasonable sense of righteousness were a major pain in the ass. One of them, in particular, was stepping all over Noxa’s toes — and she was tired of it. She couldn’t remember the amount of times she’d been standing over a meal, ready to dig in, only to rush from the scene at the sound of a flapping glider.
Mu-Kal, the gliding pain in the ass. Noxa was lucky she’d set up her nest at the tallest building in this sprawling metropolis. The last thing she needed was the gliding ‘hero’ spotting the cancerous growth-like nest and decide to investigate.
The blind hero had already met the crimson-mane’d Bio-Android. She felt it in her gut that he did not trust her in the slightest — a healthy paranoia from both of them. They’d eaten together, sitting pressed against one another.
Noxa found herself moving before her mind had reached the conclusion: she was going to hunt him down. She was going to claim this city as her own; the era of heroes would come to an end. At least here. She exited her nest, stepping out into the stormy night.
Noxa felt the cold needle-like impacts of the violent downpour against her flesh. The wind-whipped rain crashed down on the city, as Noxa would soon crash down on Mu. Tonight he was going to fall, and tomorrow any other who opposed her territory would follow in his footsteps. The heavy clinking of the woman’s metal-like carapace heels cut through the noisy torrent around her. She sprinted to the end of her skyscraper, springing down like a coil with her last step before taking a mighty leap. She embraced the freedom of free fall alongside the downward-bound droplets of rain.
Given their last interaction at the dinner Noxa had an idea of where she’d find the boy. Should he not be out patrolling — as she figured he would be — then she was left with a handful of ideas on where to look.
Her mighty insectoid wings unfurled from her back, clashing against the wind as she began to glide, scouring the cityscape below for her prey.
Tonight the apex predator would claim her place at the summit.

Note Aug 3rd: Removed [DE] Status. I was told players can still voluntarily die/ be killed outside of DE. Since there is NO bonus to a closed DE I see no reason to make this into one.
