Vi-Poi’s bright blue eyes shifted to Walker as the tree-man voiced his displeasure. It was little surprise that Walker wanted to hold on to his Dragon Ball until the summoning, after all. He couldn’t tell what the former Caretaker had planned, but he supposed he’d be supportive of restoring his friend and former master.
"I believe you're entering a dangerous time, for yourself and others. You wield great power that scarce few can manage. Yet you are not the same happy and gentle tree I met on the Outlook so long ago, and though I'd expect much change in anyone exposed to such extraordinary events as you were, your aura," He gestured to Walker's pitch-dark bark, "has grown chaotic." He continued, more gently. "Come with us, with your Dragon Ball. We'll restore Bing. You would do well under his teachings, Caretaker or not."
He listened carefully to Cipher and Zucceta’s exchange, then shook his head, speaking to the queen. “I won’t let that happen,” Vi-Poi said stubbornly. “We’ve come too far to slide back into recriminations.” His azure gaze still lingered on Walker. “We all know what terrible things can suddenly arise in the Universe. We’re in a pact for the Dragon now, each agreeing to use this awesome power to restore Bing Gan. And then…” He turned his head to Zucceta. “Then I’ll do everything I can to help you.” He said, referring to Zucceta's unborn child, keeping discretion in front of the others for the sake of her privacy.
Vi-Poi didn’t know what it meant to lose a child. But he knew something very close to it. Back in his decaying, broken state. Back in the bunker. The night after Poi’s life support had failed was filled with confusion and despair. Death was a wall without a front or a back. It was something the aging Red Ribbon mainframe didn’t understand. Where had its friend Poi gone?
The android stared at Zucceta, something like sadness touching his face. His former self had labored frantically to faithfully recreate his friend. And it had worked, in a way. Even now he could feel the ghost stirring in his machine heart.
But it had taken everything from his old self to do it. “You have my word,” He said to Zucceta.
A floating skiff suddenly arose from the jungle, populated by pilots still pulling on their harnesses. Four opened Blue Fox Battle Jackets sat on the hovering platform. “Need us to escort her to… safer grounds, Premier?” The lead officer asked.
“No,” Vi-Poi said with a wave of his hand. Hesitating, he turned to Cipher. “We’ve held you for too long. I’m sure you have other people to see.”

Ki shuddering slightly, the tree forced himself to calm down. Closing his eyes, he felt his emotions cool, and reason return. That was good. A clear head was necessary here, and getting overwrought would not be of help. However, it seemed others were annoyed. Zuccetta's hissed statement nearly made him laugh out loud. The Queen of the Saiyans had no idea that he had tried to destroy Vegeta? Apparently, the governmental structure of the SSE wasn't getting some critical information to the top.
It was ironic as well. Of all the people gathered, perhaps even in the universe, Zuccetta was responsible for the most planetary destruction. Vi-Poi's had at least been undone, but he was in second place. "I attempted to destroy planet Vegeta several months ago. I was forced to realize the hypocrisy of my desire by the woman who was shortly there-after killed by your cyborg. The savior of the planet ended by the fallen Kami of Earth. There's probably something deeper there." Indeed, it hadn't occurred to the tree at the time just how hypocritical he was being. Doing something like that would have made him no better than Lady Death.
Yet, it seemed that was all it took. One miss-step, in anger. One misguided attempt, qualifiers unimportant. He had met others, but Maeve, many of the Z-Fighters and their allies, and those such as Kazar had tried to condemn him for it. He had to wonder... what would happen if he just let go of the edge he was struggling to grasp? To simply fall into the abyss? Alone in the dark, silence in every direction. It sounded peaceful.
Looking over at the queen, he had to wonder what she had thought, to lead her to this point. She had fallen, but in a rather shocking twist, she seemed to be attempting to struggle back up the cliff face. If she could do so, he must try as well. Steeling his will, he bowed to her. "I intend to be present as soon as the Dragon is ready to be summoned. After that... I will do my best to help you gather the orbs once more, so that your family may be brought back to life. That goal, at least... I can understand." From the queen's comment, and what Radasha had said a few days before, it seemed that this was the only likely answer to that particular riddle.
He did agree with Vipoi on one point at the moment. "This has become rather complex, yes. Although, Cipher... I must say something. I respect Reikiko. She was my teacher, and someone that I willingly gave up my life to empower, that she might be our salvation." His hands spread wide. "But look at where we are. She died due to her own greed for power, accomplishing nothing. I do not hate her, but I cannot defend her either. I spoke with her, after her death and before my return from my self-imposed exile in hell. I know how she died, and it was entirely avoidable, save for her own desire for might. Do not shackle yourself to an idol, but mourn a friend."

It seemed Zucceta was skeptical of her chances of ever finding peace with the denizens of Earth. And she had every right to believe so, after all she and her armies had done. Cipher gave a small shrug. "I wouldn't be so sure. Heck, when Vi-Poi and the Blue Banner Army first came into power, people considered us a terrorist organization. And now look. Vi-Poi's the premier and the people look up to us. I'm not saying it will be easy, but give it some time. You never know."
Then of course came up the matter of Walker almost detonating Vegeta. It didn't take a genius to know what would happen next. While they were on peaceful terms with Zucceta at the moment, the fact that someone tried to destroy her home planet wouldn't exactly sit well with the Saiyan queen. Though one thing did catch his interest. Did Walker mention Zucceta's family? He had never heard of this before, and needless to say, it surprised him. He really should have briefed himself on the situation when he returned. His attention was brought back to Walker when he spoke of Reikiko, telling him not to shackle himself to her. Cipher smiled. "Trust me, I know Reikiko running off to get herself killed off was an idiotic move. Quite irritating since we had only started coming up with plans when she suddenly decided to do so. But, as past experiences had taught me, death seems less like a major threat and more of an inconvenience for individuals of our strength. I figured I'd try to set things in motion for when she returned. Didn't exactly work out, but hey, it was a learning experience."
It was then that a floating platform rose up to meet them, offering to escort Vi-Poi to somewhere safe. Of course, Vi-Poi wouldn't need an escort, as he waved them off, before offering to let Cipher go to see others. The pale android chuckled and shrugged. "You're not holding me up at all sir. I actually think this is the first in depth conversation we've had in a long time. I never really get to see you in a social setting...of sorts." he glanced over at Zucceta and Walker with a smile, "Though if you're referring to me going to see my family, I'll have you know that-"
"We're right here."
Cipher paused and blinked before spinning around. There, floating right behind him, was Charlene, piloting what appeared to be a custom built Battle Jacket, holding Porsalynne in its large hands. His fiance, in turn, gave a small wave with a smile. The android blinked. "Charlene...What is that?" The girl chuckled. "A battle jacket Dad." "Yes I know that. I mean, WHY are you in a battle jacket? And how did you get one?" The small girl raised her hands defensively. "They gave it to me. It's one of the older models. They were going to scrap it anyway." Cipher just stared. They GAVE a ten year old girl a battle jacket? "Charlene...when did they give that to you?" The girl tilted her head in thought, "Not long after the Saiyan Invasion I think, when they were building the newer models." A flat expression crossed Cipher's face. "I need to have a SERIOUS talk with the armored division later..."

Zucceta's eyes, narrowed into reptillian slits, softly dilate as Walker explains the comment. "It depends on where you choose to search for meaning," the queen responds to the tree. She comprehended the subtext of Walker's comment, but chose not to directly respond to it. Walker's decimation of Vegeta would not have stopped Bing's transformation into a cyborg, but it might have caused his demise, if not a retaliatory strike against Earth, to no-one's benefit.
A thin line of bemusement crosses her forehead when Walker mentions her wish, a line that is further cemented on the arrival of Cipher's family. "Ugh," she finds herself saying, crossing her arms before glancing at Vi-Poi. "I'm going. You can figure out a way to contact me, I'm sure."
She nods to the two other people, a modicum of respect beneath a layer of defensiveness, before she shoots into the sky, her mind still trying to process Walker's words, another part of it considering their dedications to Reikiko, the bio-android who wasn't so different in her attitude. It was an interesting observation.
