Before Hitake in the middle of a rome inside of a hidden base within a mountain stood 6 men. These six mean were dressed in black and green cloaks, each one with a large symbol on their back, the symbol the same for each person. These people in front of Hitake were part of the group that had attacked him and had been killed off or critically injured. Hitake watched them from his hiding space, his power level lowered drastically so he could not be sensed. He was curious what they were all about and what they might be planning.
The room they were in was dark but not too dark as Hitake could make out the many symbols that littered the walls around them, obviously markings of their secret code or language. There were many statues and objects in the room made out of bronze, even some silver and gold were mixed in with what he figured were more valuable pieces. The floor was polished marble which reflected light onto the roof which was carved from granite with one large symbol in the middle, they one they wore on their backs. The air smelled of crumbled earth and some weird pungent scent wafted through the air that smelled of death warmed over. Whoever these people were, this cult, Hitake knew they were up to no good. He wondered why they had sent people after them. No one here on earth actually new him.
It was pretty obvious this was an inside job. Someone from his own planet had hired these guys to track him down and somehow knew he was here. That meant only one thing really. Hitake frowned a bit then shook his head. What a fool he was, but he was here and it was too late to back out now. Hitake turned his attention back to the group. He noticed they were starting to leave the center of the room towards one of the exits. There were several doors, 4 of them to be exact at the exit. Each man chose a door, sometimes more than one entering, which lead to what Hitake could only figure as their personal officers or rooms.
Hitake wasn't sure if he should stay behind or follow. Following meant he could very well run into one of them and his best guess was that this place was again full of mazes. It was hell getting there in the first place having to dodge traps quietly. His job here wasn't to blow the place up, it was to gather surveillance for his new client. He was hired to find them, and expose them. Apparently they were a thorn in someone else' side as well. Hitake had no issues learning about his own enemy, especially with a large amount of money coming for his completed work.
Eventually he decided to check out the room. He moved from his ledge down onto the floor and looked around. With a closer look, many of the objects had symbols etched in them, some of them housed gems, or glass cases filled with trinkets or even organs and body parts. Why body parts? Hitake narrowed his eyes as he wondered. These guys were obviously freaks, that meant they were even more dangerous than he originally thought. This world would be better without them.
His mission hadn't changed, but his desire to end them was ever present now. This room bothered him, it crept him out even though he was a saiyan who had seen many body parts across the battle field before. He decided it was best he take after one of them now. He chose the fair left path, where two had followed and slowly made his way into the doorway into the darkness ahead...
[Flash Back]
It was a slow and quiet Wednesday evening for Hitake. He was sitting on his couch drinking a cold one and watching earth tv. A popular comedian happened to be on which he had seemed to enjoy because he was laughing his ass off the whole time. Halfway through one of the skits a knock came at his door. It was a loud demanding knock that rasped at his door 4 times quickly. Hitake quickly got up and swore under his breath.
Why... Why now Hitake sat his cold one on his table and moved to the door, opening it to reveal who was standing on the other side. A business man with a brief case in a white suit with a black tie stood in front of him. He was tell, well built, with neatly combed back short black hair. He had strong facial features with a square cut jaw, slightly round chin, high cut cheek bones and a strong forehead. His dark green eyes peered down at Hitake as he towered over him by a good foot. The man smiled, and with a voice that was higher pitched then it should have been, though not in a comical way, he introduced himself.
Hello sir, my name is Benjamin Matsumoto. I'm here on behalf of my boss who would like to employ a Mr Itori. Would that be you?
Hitake looked at him for a few seconds before sighing and opening the door all the way. He stepped to the side and invited the man in. The man thanked him and headed inside.
I take it you are him then? Benjamin asked as he was safely inside.
Yes that's me. Please have a seat at that table. Can I interest you in a cold one? Hitake asked being a polite and gracious host, something he did for his job. Better impressions meant more money, and more money meant he was a step closer to his goals.
Yes, that would be nice, thank you. But while you're getting that let me inform you the nature of the request from my boss. He wants someone found and he wants intelligence on them.
Its a small group known as Quixsilver. They are a cult within the area that takes on jobs from people to hunt and kill people. Recently they captured one of my bosses daughters. The man stopped briefly to take a quick breath
The only thing he got back from this was her head and some photes of her organs eyes and blood being used in a special room. He's willing to offer more money than you can imagine if you take the job.
The man opened his briefcase and inside was more money than Hitake had seen in one place, a cell phone, and several photos. Some of them were of the body parts the others were of the man that had captured the young woman. Hitake recognized them right away. He wore a large smirk from that point on.
Ahhh. these bastards again. I've had a run in with them twice. Killed four of them, nearly killed the fifth. Apparently they want to make me a sacrifice as well.
The man looked to him with surprise, his mouth a gap. He stuttered a bit before beaming brightly, a pep in his step so to speak.
Excellent! You are the man for the job then! In this case is x... amount of money. If you accept the job, the details are that you are to track them to their location, watch them, learn what you can and report to my boss with what you've found. From there he will let you know what you need to do.
If you so accept, take this cell and hit answer. He will be on the other line. All the money here is yours now, with another 30% after the job is done.
Hitake sat there a moment pondering the offer. He grabbed the phone and answered. On the other end was a man with a deep voice who sounded out, run down and in desperate need.
Good good, I see you've accepted the job. You will not regret this choice Mr Itori. Call me Mr X. Please accept this phone as a gift and a means to get up with me with updates. If you need anything feel free to contact me or Mr Benjamin. We will be happy to see to it that you have every tool at your disposal for this job..
A few silent seconds passed on the phone before the mans voice crackled over the end one more time before shutting off and the call ended.
Take those bastards down.
The mans tone gave Hitake chills. He placed the phone in front of him, popped a fresh cold one for the two of them who drank to a deal well made, shook hands, got the paper work over so to speak, then talked about the job a bit before Benjamin would leave for the evening. Hitake watched as he left. A sense of excitement and apprehension settled over Hitake. His job began tomorrow. He never turned a job down, and he always got his man so to speak. He was about to become rich. [Wanting Zeni for this. Will post another thread soon.]
