Valerie was feeling pretty much the opposite of bored. However, in this case, that wasn't necessarily a good thing.
As an android, she possessed an immense amount of processing power and ability to sift through and file away information. That just came along as part of the package. Unfortunately, that was in theory. In practice, Val had found that for a couple of months now, she was struggling to digest quite so many lines of thought and reasoning simultaneously. She'd elected not to let that bother her too much, figuring it was probably the price to pay for her additional independence over and above the rest of her siblings. Val could live with a few suboptimal processes if it meant getting to explore this big wide world. There was so much to see out here, and Valerie hadn't even scratched the surface. Not to mention what was out there beyond the Earth. Even Val's fairly limited knowledge of galactic geography extended as far as knowing that there were hundreds of other planets up in space, which was a thought enough to consume a hefty chunk of AI brainpower by itself.
Regardless, the fact that there was so much to see could sometimes become a bit overwhelming. The data streams almost started to collide with one another in Val's head, getting all tangled up and making it harder to think and concentrate. Steadily she was managing to filter through it and compartmentalise, but the process was beginning to be a drag on efficiency. One or two other systems were suffering from some minor lag, and Valerie knew that she was likely going to start missing things in her environment if she carried on the way that she was going. That was the last thing that she wanted to happen; what was the point in trying to discover new experiences if her observational capacities were stunted? She'd be going into it half blind.
So, only one thing for it in that case. Looked like it was time for Val to take a break. That always cleared her head, to have a little time not focusing on any new inputs, just working through what she already had. Probably allowing her power systems to recharge for a bit too, but Valerie wasn't entirely sure how her power source actually worked. (And short of taking herself apart to have a look, she didn't have a way of investigating further).
With a soft sigh, Valerie drew to a halt and stretched, glancing left and right. Plain countryside stretched out to either side of her, and other than a few sparse spreads of trees, the weathered old road that she was currently wandering down was the only sight for quite some distance. No landmarks, no sign of people or towns... Good a place as any.
Val spread her arms out wide and just allowed herself to fall all the way back. Impacting the ground with a dull thump (which her sensors immediately complained about), she smiled and closed her eyes, spreadeagled right in the middle of the road.
Time to process.
