Kaito loved fighting. Always did. His blood of a warrior strongly indicated the human’s enthusiastic desire to exchange fists with strong people. Kaito hasn’t really thought it over as why he feels this way. The simple word “why” manages to drive all people nuts. They sleep on the thought that you cannot see the end of “whys”, hence, they let it go. Hence, they remain to stay the way they are, ignorant.
Due to this, Kaito had always distanced himself a little bit from the society. In his years when he’d still live in his beloved village, most of his time was spent with tigers. Yes, as simple as that. Kaito loved communicating with those animals. It brought him peace of mind. He’d rather be with these beautiful animals than to corrupt his ephemeral soul with the current society.
Humans refuse to evolve. We always claim they want to change, but we’re so wrapped up inside the pain. Why? We always are chilling in the sun when stuck in the rain. Why? Instead of profits, we are stuck with the loss, and instead of getting more conscious, we are stuck with nonsense. Why did it have to be this way? What, where or when did it go wrong?
Such answer can’t be achieved easily. Kaito had contemplated a lot about this matter, the human tried to shoulder all the world’s problems by himself. His mom used to tell him to let the Lord handle it, but she soon gave in, easily overwhelmed by his fiery eyes. Those eyes insisted on something. Something which should be changed in this world. Why not be part of this change? You have all the rights and abilities. Why let ourselves fall further into the depths of the torture?
Kaito picked intellectuality over physical strength. The mind mattered way more than your body. That goes without saying. It’s the mind that gives the command to the body for an act. For whatever act. Be it of good deeds, or bad. It doesn’t matter in the end. Once you’ve done it, there’s no turning back. The endless book of Karma has just been added another sequence. The overlooker of it will sure reach that page, those letters. You will be repaid, that’s inevitable. You ask how long should I wait? That’s not something you decide. But, Karma never forgets. Kaito would rather let Karma slap them instead of him in certain situations. That was the universal nature of the boy, he strongly believed in this supernatural force.
The human had come to a point where he questioned everything. This, obviously, wasn’t a good sign of his moral saneness at all. Some say that spirituality drives you insane, makes you a weirdo, separates you from the rest of the world. But for what cause? For the better trigger, or for the worse? Kaito believed that he has been a blessed being since he came out from the womb. His vivid aura which vibed from his pure soul always managed to heal people. Pure soul? What pure soul? Isn’t this dimension just a temporary place for living beings before they travel the other ones? The pleasant smile of his had always put people at ease. The issue was, this smile was slowly getting devoured by the drastic and shocking realizations Kaito has gone through. Did this mean that in every corner of the world, corruption prevailed? This wicked negativity which has ruined countless souls?
Was the human really able to maintain his mental stability until his day? Would the world be better off if he didn’t exist at all? Unreasonable thoughts crossed the complex mind of the loner. Saying he was getting into a paranoid state, would be the least extent. His mind clouded, the human dropped completely loose, his muscular build clashing against the wet grass.
It wasn’t very clear in his mind. Before he fell into his deep slumber, Kaito had it very vague as to why he was in this state. All he remembered was that he was patrolling this area full of dense trees and saturated grass. That didn’t matter at all, at this point. Kaito was just lying there, fully asleep. His breathing process was pretty static and slow, though.
The night had fallen completely and a slight breeze flowed through the trees, fondling against the human’s skin. The temporary wind raised up some droplets from the grass and splashed them against the man’s face. No reaction, he was really into his sleep. Sleep, huh? They say sleep is the cousin of death. Kaito liked sleeping a lot. During this time, his body and mind finally get to catch a rest.
Intensity. Livelines…
Kaito was experiencing such scenarios inside his mind. Completely unrelated to each other, they kept flipping. One scenario would hardly last three seconds. It felt like, they had waited for centuries to show themselves to Kaito; like a Japanese lunchtime rush! Were these really Karma results of Kaito’s soul before it reincarnated in this body? Also, in how many bodies has this distinct soul been? Was Kaito maybe a shogun in the past?
Heavy… Kaito felt numb. Totally paralyzed. His body temperature had completely dropped; he was cold. Waves… The human felt like he was levitating, but how? As if it was in sync with his breath, Kaito waved from side to side. Relaxation… His everyday stress and tension were completely relieved. The human continued to levitate in the air. He felt free; his mental spiritually healthy. Vibrations...
Huh?
Apparently, Kaito managed to trick his brain. His third eye had finally done its job; it had put the body asleep, but the brain was wide awake. Vibrations, yet once again. At this point, Kaito felt that the levitation stopped.
Huh?
His forehead was burning; he felt that “he” was being lifted vertically. He? Who was this “he”? People usually refer “he” as to Kaito; the physical form. However, no, the true Kaito was the inner form. His mind, his consciousness. That’s what kneaded up Kaito’s posture.
A finger was moved. Yet it wasn’t. But it felt that it just moved!
“Wait…”
The human looked around. He peered down below.
“I see...”
Aurora borealis surrounded the true Kaito. That’s right; the human finally broke free. He managed to separate his astral body from the physical one. All this time, he had been moving his astral finger. It felt nice to be a ghost, huh? No one could see you. You’re also able to interact with higher and scary entities now. It wasn’t as easy as pie, though. You needed constant focus, or else you’ll be pulled back to the body.
Kaito noted his silver cord connected to his back; all the way connecting to his physical body. What would happen if he severed it? Of course, he’ll no longer be able to return. That’s what happens when you die, for sure. You’re either stuck in the astral realm, or your soul undergoes a reincarnation. Kaito was blessed enough to experience this feel before his day, though.
He looked around. The very same dense trees and wet grass lied, though, more vivid. The colorful atmosphere, weird creatures floating around. Kaito was just there. He tried to reach higher, and he could do so effortlessly. His chakras worked in harmony, basically. They finally paid off.
The mighty astral realm. The next destination of souls. Yes, it is said that this is the true afterlife. An afterlife beyond the actual afterlife. Mindblowing much? Populated by classical, medieval, oriental and esoteric beings, its interaction with the living dimension is almost perfect. Entities who seek to suck your energy out or beautiful angels who served as spirit guides. Which one would Kaito encounter?
Human being the center of the universe is a lie. That’s what Kaito believed. Being the only intelligent race, overrating yourself is almost natural. When will everyone realize this? It all boils down to your soul. Kaito had a gold soul, just like his hair. However, in the astral form, he was just a miniature of his physical form. Since you could do anything, Kaito shape shifted in his normal posture, though still transparent; you couldn’t completely erase your ghost features off.
Traveling. Kaito came across all kinds of entities. The astral dimension contained a wide variety of wildlife. Good and bad natured animals. Horned devils and angelic beings. Fluid flying snakes and winged creatures. They greeted Kaito cheerfully and went back to their business again. All this time, Kaito didn’t have to worry about an attack of a demonic influence. His soul vibrated in a such a high frequency, that it scared the demons away. So, Beelzebub would be shitting bricks now.
The human reached the outer space. According to the books he had read about astrology, Venus should be over that direction. Normally, in astral realms, you would teleport to your desired location if you have prior knowledge. Kaito had to manually get there, though, but his speed was unrivaled. He found himself floating over the frame of Venus.
“Mystical deities… I’m here to find the truth about my existence.”
Kaito wasn’t too sure as to why he had picked Venus. He simply felt a strong energy coming from it. A logical thought would tell that it was a God’s. A God, huh?
A floating figure, emerging from the Venus’ lightings, appeared in front of Kaito. A holographic being. Mighty, godly. It had a divine presence, Kaito almost screaming. Only the head was present, the rest of the body couldn’t be seen. Maybe this was his way of meeting newcomers, or he wasn’t too bothered to get all that worked up for a mere simple soul like Kaito’s?
Still, though, his head frame shadowed over the entire planet Venus. The whole space shined all brightly; Kaito was left stunned. He was no longer conscious, even in the astral realm.
The human passed out…
It all got blurry. The Venus God started to vanish, or was Kaito the one vanishing? The next moment, Kaito opened his eyes. The morning dew had completely soaked him. The human blinked repeatedly.
What was that all for…?
Weirdly enough, Kaito felt like he got all his questions answered. He… felt like a new person.
