Alexander sat amongst the bamboo stalks, his eyes closed. Much like the last time that he'd been here, his shirt was removed, leaving his upper body bare. The marking on his right arm, which had previously only been up to his wrist and part of his forearm, now snaked all the way up his arm to his bicep, the strange markings covering the majority of his arm, now. He knew that with each passing day, the void continued to crawl up his arm, but he couldn't quite deny that he didn't enjoy the power that came with it. Still, he knew that he should try to focus on getting this power...restrained. He needed to keep it somewhere at a level where he could still manage it. As it stood now, every time he progressed in strength, the markings on his arm crawled a little higher, and he felt like he lost just a little more of himself in the process. She Who Watches was not one who had any major impact on his life up until he'd met her, those few days ago in the school. When he'd done so, it felt like his entire life had somehow been turned on its head. He craved to see her again, and these were thoughts that Alexander simply did not have. He wasn't particularly outgoing, and he had been far too focused on his own strengths to really think about such things but at her appearance, that had all changed...but it was only for her. It wasn't anything that went out beyond that, but for her, for She Who Watches...those were the thoughts that often plagued his mind when he would attempt to sleep at night. A small sound came forth then, a grunt of pain, as the Void flared up around him a fair bit more intensely. He growled, the power flowing up around him, coating his body in the strange energy. It felt foreign, odd, wrong...but at the same time it felt so right. It felt like this was the power he was always meant to have. His eyes opened, the pupils gone as he gave a hiss of pain, the energy flaring up from his arm, invading the rest of his body. A slight, panting sound came from him afterward as the energy dissipated, leaving him exhausted. He leaned back against a tree as he struggled to breathe, the void having taken the air from his lungs. He was attempting to push it as far as he could without leading to Her awakening, to find that fine line, and to stop just before he reached it. It was exhausting, and his body felt weak after the several hour long training, but he knew that it was necessary- he needed to master this power, lest it master him. However, he gave a small sound as he heard someone nearby. Perhaps it was Ayumu again...that would allow him to finally find out exactly what he had gotten himself into. If it wasn't...well he'd make do. Alex wasn't really fond of talking with new people, but he didn't mind. -- ((Heavy Weights PL: 21,222 | Base PL: 84,891 )) Kayle

Kayle was staying in Satan City now, having come here looking for a space pod. He still had not found one, even after that majin girl, Presto, had promised him that she knew where to find them. He wasn't to upset with her there, she was a decent enough girl, for a bubble gum candy demon anyway. Though the fact of what she was had given him an idea, but he needed to find a way to enact it.
Despite being fed up with hunting the elusive power of the super saiyan, something inside of him still pressed him forward to do so. He was still looking to train, but he had also heard rumors of another way to gain power. There were if fact, several ways such as the holy water found somewhere here on Earth, special unlocks from certain people around the galaxy, hell there was even the fruits from the trees of might. Kayle knew his chances of getting one was almost non existant. He also knew of another way, however. There was a rumor to a "Path of Darkness", as it was called. A place where demons and spirits ran rampant. These beings might be able to give him the power boost he needed. The power to become a super saiyan. With the fear of the upcoming wars, Kayle knew he would need it. The only problem was how? How would he come by it? It was not like this dark power was common knowledge. The only thing he could do was to look around, so he marched himself to the door of his hotel room, weights hanging off his body as usual. He decided to leave the puppy he had recently acquired behind, so as not to have anything slowing him down.
As he walked out the door, Kayle had decided to walk down the stairs as opposed to flying off as usual. What he was looking for was something that he didn't want attention drawn to, so he figured getting around like the humans did would be his best bet. Casually walking to the road way, Kayle hailed down a cab and told the driver to take him down town. He was looking for a book shop, one that had books on ancient magics. Getting out of the cab, he contemplated just walking off without paying, but decided against it. Again, that would have caused to much attention. He payed the man, though reluctantly, and started his journey down the walkway. Passing by shop after shop, he realized that he might not find what he was looking for, so he decided to cut down an ally way or two. What he was looking for would not be in a popular main drag shop anyway. Down one particularly dark ally, there was an occult shop that seemed like it would be a good place to start, so he walked in.
Inside the shop was dark, and there were several books strewn about along with other knick knacks here and there. He walked up and down the isles, browsing through what was there. He saw many things, from oils to potions, talismans to pendents. He had been looking into this for a while now, and had a pretty good eye for what was fake and what was real. He also knew that demons and dark power were real things, though they were not always what people thought they were. He settled on a few books about seals and summoning, and a dictionary of traditional, ancient demon names, as well as some things mentioned that would be needed. He was going to get his power one way or the other. Even if that meant he had to resort to means that most people would feel were unthinkable. The Earth did not matter much in his eyes anyway. Who cared what happened to a people who thought nothing more of him than a monster? If it was a monster they wanted, then it would be a monster they get, and he would impress his queen in the process.
Upon purchasing the times mentioned, he walked out of the store and carried the bag. Now he just needed a place to go to be in seclusion while he looked it all over. The motel wouldn't do as the neighbors could be pretty loud. Then he remembered. There was that one place, that place where he met the other majin, Zexama. The bamboo forest, and it was near here! Kayle burst into the sky form the front of the shop, and bolted straight for the forest.
Kayle could see the people down below, looking like the ants they were to him once again. Soon, he would have the power to make them pay for the things they had done. Faster and faster he flew, a bright white aura surrounding him, until he finally made it to the giant stalks of bamboo. After entering, and finding what he thought was a secluded place, he began to study the books closely. Eventually, Kayle did notice some rustling near by, and he knew that he was not as alone as he thought he was. He activated his scouter, and sure enough the reading was high enough to know that it was indeed a person over there.
"Great. I better find out who that is before they come and see all this and think I'm trying to cause the apocalypse or something." Kayle stated lowly to himself with a sigh.
He started to walk in the direction of the rustling that he had heard, and through the tall stalks, he could see a strange man. He did not approach at first, but simply stayed back and observed. There seemed to be something wrong with his arm. It seemed to have some sort of strange markings on it, dark markings. Maybe this man was already well into what he was looking to study? There was only one way to tell, and that was to talk to him. This man seemed to be moving toward Kayle's location, indicating that he knew that Kayle was there. Kayle decided to bide his time, and allow the man to come to him, there was less chance of surprises that way.

The man moved with a practiced gait that gave off the impression that he was a great deal more confident than he actually was. Alexander had no idea who this one in front of him was, and yet even so, he moved directly toward him without hesitation. He had long since learned that to show any sort of fear to anyone, as that was a very quick way to make them doubt you, and that doubt could lead to a loss of control. The void-user was always in control of his life, as far as he could be, at any rate. He had recently come to realize that he was able to handle a great deal more of the Void power than he had originally thought- and as such, he was more than willing to try and push himself beyond the limits he had...but he also didn't wish to wake She Who Watches, either.
Still, as he approached the man before him, Alexander noted that he was carrying a bag with a number of books inside. Perhaps he was here to study and get away from the noise and busy pace of the city, but he was fairly certain that such was not the case. He had a good eye for what people were after, and from what little he could tell about this fellow, that he was here on his own terms, and likely as Alexander had been those months ago, he was here for power. The fact that he was at the same forest that Alexander had come to when he'd met Ayumu made him...curious. Was this place a crossroads of these strange energies? Or was it merely coincidence? Fate was one thing, but Alexander did not believe in coincidences happening without a good reason.
He paused, coming to a stop a short distance from the man. The tail that he showed indicated that he was likely a saiyan, or perhaps a half-breed. Given the fact that he had these books, he was almost certainly willing to dismiss the pure-blooded saiyan idea, as he had yet to meet a scholarly saiyan. Most of them simply had no real focus in their lives aside from getting stronger through brute force methodologies. He did not recall if Appile had been a full saiyan from back then, but the man had made the same contract that Alexander had, during that time. He hadn't seen the man since that time had occurred, and he wondered, vaguely, if the void had killed him.
"An interesting time to be out here. What causes your path to come this way?" he asked, his cold, hard gaze on the other. Alex had grown a bit...paranoid of late, as well. With the growing of his power, he was starting to realize just how much power others around him had as well. He had thought himself to be strong under Fudendrenk's teachings, but it seemed that no matter what he did to grow strong, there was always someone stronger than he. That made things difficult for him, as he had a strange, unnatural need to be the strongest out there, and the power of the Void that he held urged him onward toward that goal. He was losing bits of his humanity as he went, but he had decided that as long as he held onto the core of his being, he would have no reservations about continuing to push his power.
The word 'core' however, resonated in his mind as his mind went to the young Arcosian, and Kay-El, as well. He had acted as something of an elder brother to the two of them for a time, and now he felt almost a bit estranged from them. He'd had the feeling at the lake, that he path he was walking was taking him further away from someone who could be a good role model for them. He wondered if they would even recognize him if they saw him now. Everything that he'd done since then had taken him down a path that he hadn't been able to predict. Ninjin had suggested back then that he follow the path that was the most obscured, to allow him to arrive at a destination where he wouldn't see the destination, to allow the journey to be what changed him. The problem was, he felt like he'd changed too much, now.
His gaze moved over the man that stood before him again, before he realized that he hadn't quite introduced himself yet. Slowly, he extended a hand outward toward him. The ephemeral power had been dialed back a little, but it still rolled off of him in waves, sensible by any who could sense ki. It would feel different, unnatural and just plain 'wrong' in some cases, depending on the morals of who was sensing him. "I am Alexander Voss. What brings you to this place?" he asked, having repeated his prior question, mostly to make sure he had the man's answer correct. This place always had a rather...odd feel, especially after what Ayumu had shown him before. "I imagine nothing commonplace."

Kayle stood there, still watching and well aware, as the man from across the way continued to approach in his direction. His deep green eyes rolled over the man as he walked with a practiced gate, chest and head held high, as if he were the master of the world. The man seemed to come to a stop a short distance before him, looking Kayle over as if he were a piece of meat., particularly going over his tail a good while. Kayle's tail swished back and forth behind him as the mans gaze fell over it. He almost never wrapped it around his waist as some saiyans did, even in a fight.
This new stranger began to ask Kayle why he had come out this way in a rather nonchalant sounding voice, but the look in his eyes was cold as ice and Kayle could tell he was being overly cautious. Kayle sighed, but did not answer his question at first. It always started this way. People being nice to him on the surface, but secretly judging him a monster here to destroy the Earth underneath. Kayle could feel this mysterious stranger doing more of the same. It was something that he was getting very sick of, and the entire reason that Kayle had come out here to begin with. On Earth he was a monster, on Vegeta he was a pathetic half breed. He would prove on vision right, and the other wrong, and which one was which would depend on how his plans panned out in the end.
This strange man seemed to troll off into his own world after asking his question, thinking of things Kayle couldn't even begin to fathom. The looks going across the mans face caused Kayle to question the mans real motives. It was almost as if he were reliving part of his life. It was then that Kayle noticed the strange symbols splayed across his arm. What is this guy's problem, and what are those symbols on his arm? Kayle thought to himself before answering the man. Could what I came out here to do already be done, and was waiting here to speak to me already?
This random person then restated the question before, after seemingly breaking form his self induced trance, but Kayle did not answer him at first. He stood there still staring at the man. Kayle decided not to give the complete answer, at least not yet. All he needed was to have him freak out at the answers. Kayle's scouter told him that the mans fighting power was high, and he really wasn't looking for a fight anyway. He was not like the pure blood saiyans as Kayle never needed to fight everything that came along. Perhaps it was this thought that made him different enough form the saiyans that they mocked him as inferior.
Kayle turned his attention back to this stranger, who had now identified as Alexander Voss. He ready to speak to the man after a while of sizing him up. "Interesting indeed, stranger. I merely come out here for the solitude. Not many come out this way, and I can usually find peace to do the things I need, and continue with my studies." Kayle replied to this interloper, hoping that this would deter him from questioning further. It was not as if he had lied out right, as this was the real reason he was here, but surely the man would not approve of the things that he was studying. Even if he wasn't, Kayle wasn't ready to let that secret out. "The better question here is, why are you out here, and why do you seem to care that I am? I have only met one other person in this forest. She was a majin that instantly attacked. So as you can see, I am a bit weary of people among the stalks. Especially the ones that just come from seemingly no where."
Kayle stood by, waiting to see how the man reacted to the questioning. He had learned long ago that what a man says means nothing, but how he acts will show the very depths of his soul unless he was a master actor. Actions were far harder to cover than words were.

"The solitude," Alexander repeated, as if he didn't quite believe him at first. He supposed that on some level he did, but on others, he didn't. It was mostly because of what Ayumu had done. He'd seen eyes and fangs from the trees and leaves themselves when the man was here last and he wondered just what all was held here, within this forest. He had the feeling that there was far more to it than just...a grove of bamboo. His gaze often flickered between what was truly here, and what he had seen that day, like a strange filter over his vision. He wondered if it were flashbacks to what he'd seen before, or if this place held some sort of...power.
"I suppose I cannot disagree with you there. This place is often devoid of life beyond the animals," he admitted, though even now, not even the insects chirped. It was as if the creatures around knew that Alexander was an abomination and hushed themselves, lest they be delivered into the maw of the Void. So what should have been a grove of forestry, teeming with life was nothing more than a barren wasteland, the only population here the stalks of bamboo that couldn't leave, damning them to his presence whether they wanted it or not. He had long since started to become used to this sort of treatment, even though there wasn't much that he could have done to earn a different response from the world around him. He found it most interesting...and amusing...that the world itself seemed to reject his presence, as of late.
At the return question, Alexander gave a small shrug. "I am here for the same reasons as you. Solitude. Many do not find my presence very...pleasing, as of late," he murmured, flexing his right arm for emphasis. "I don't wish to really...integrate well with others." He paused then, contemplating how to answer the second part of the question. He supposed the best way to answer it would be with honesty- he wasn't exactly a skilled liar. "I had met someone here some months ago who had granted me...this," he offered, the ephemeral energy beginning to flicker around his arm. It was coming unbidden more and more often now. He didn't even need to channel it for it to appear, like it was becoming a part of him. No different than his heart beating or lungs breathing. It was just...there. "I had hoped that you were him," he responded honestly.
"I suppose I cannot blame you, then," Alex spoke. His own run-in with a majin hadn't been anywhere near so violent, but it /had/ gotten him into quite a bit of trouble at the school. Things had turned out all right, but even then, he didn't particularly plan to deal with a majin again any time soon. He preferred the company of things that were more...humanoid. That had organs, and if they did attack him, he would have a better chance of putting into the ground. The Majin creatures were almost terrifying in their own right in that they just wouldn't stay down, given they had nothing internal as far as organs went. "Majin creatures are nothing to trifle with."
Still it didn't particularly seem like this one would have any information that would be particularly useful to him. He had hoped that perhaps he had been Ayumu, but such was not the case. He was simply...Alex paused, realizing that he hadn't even thought to ask the saiyan (or half-saiyan)'s name, or given his own. "I apologize for the rudeness," he offered, as something to placate the other, who seemed defensive of the onslaught of questions, though he supposed he couldn't deny that being assaulted by questions by a stranger was altogether odd. "I am Alexander Voss," he spoke, wanting to at least introduce himself first before he left the man to his own...studies. Alex was a bit curious to what he was studying, but he wasn't going to intervene. What one man did was his own business.
"But given that you are rather busy, I will return to my own training," he spoke, not wanting to take up too much of this one's time if he had nothing to offer him. He didn't want to be rude, but from what Alex could tell, he had nothing to offer, and by that same token, Alexander had nothing to offer him. It was rather a waste of both of their times for the two to continue conversing. There might be some who would take that chit chat for entertainment, but Alex was not one of those people. He lifted a hand in farewell, beginning to turn around to head back to where he had come from. He had to master this Void. He needed to tighten his grip on its power...

Kayle was still standing by, waiting for this man to answer him. It took what seemed like ages for the man to simply reply that it was a the solitude that he sought. Kayle doubted very much that this was all the man was seeking. It seemed very convenient that this man would be seeking the same thing that he was. It was nothing new to Kayle that a human would attempt to mislead him. This was actually very common place. It seemed like this was the native speak of the planet Earth, deception itself. There was not reason for Kayle to trust this man in particular. It was at this point that he began to notice the lack of animals, or even noise for that matter, within the bamboo vale. Last time her was here the animals were all over the place, that was until Zexama's surprise visit. What a strange silence this was, it really was true solitude. A solitude so great that it seemed to annoy Kayle a little. This was a solitude truly devoid of all life, save for Kayle and this stranger himself.
The stranger went on a bit more before Kayle spoke. He told Kayle that he had hoped that he was someone else. This was particularly intriguing to Kayle. Who did he hope that he was? What was he looking for? Kayle knew that as the man raised his arm, with its ephemeral glow, that it was something that was beyond the normal ki user. It seemed that he wished to meet with the person that had helped him achieve such a thing again out here. It seemed that Kayle himself had been mistaken for such a person. This was extremely interesting to Kayle, as whomever had given this to this man might still be out here. Perhaps he or she could give the same kind of power to Kayle himself. Maybe he could finally even have the power to stand up to super saiyans and humans he had met. He could feel the excitement well within him just as he could feel the power of such a being within the stranger before him. This was something that Kayle had been looking for all this time. It was then that the stranger decided to give his name while hidden inside of some sort of apology. Alexander Voss, he had said.
"Alexander Voss." Kayle said allowed. It seemed to be a mouthful for a person to say. "Tell me, is there something shorter that people call you, Alexander Voss?"
Kayle noticed that the man he now knew as Alexander Voss was now turning away to leave. This was something Kayle could not allow just yet for he had far to many questions that need answers. "Wait, stranger, I have questions for you. It seems only fair since you fired off your own without even a hellos." Kayle stated, hoping to use this mans own hospitality and humility against him. If it worked then the man would turn around and listen to the things that Kayle had asked next. He didn't give his own name just yet as he didn't even know if this man was even willing to listen.
"Who is the one that you were waiting for and why did he do that to your hand?" Kayle asked as his first question, and most important one. If he didn't understand this, then how mattered not. For all Kayle knew this was some sort of curse upon the man, but something told Kayle that this might not be the case. Whatever was going on here, Kayle needed to get to the bottom of it.

"Shorter?" Alex responded, arching a brow. He hadn't yet met someone who hadn't simply called him Alex, but he supposed that the majority of who he'd met thus far had been human and for them, that was common convention. This one was either saiyan or half-saiyan, he couldn't determine which by sight. The fellow was...interesting. He seemed well-thought, and obviously well-read, from the number of books that he held at his side. Such a person wasn't one that Alexander had ever dealt with before. "If you wish, you can simply call me Alex. That's the shortened version of my name," he offered, hoping that it might clear up that confusion between himself and the other. He needn't worry about such a thing, as he wasn't exactly preoccupied with making friends, but by that same token, he didn't want to make enemies, either.
At the request to wait, Alexander's foot paused, the heel on the ground but the ball of his foot still in the air. The other then appealed to a sense of common decency, to which Alexander felt that perhaps the man was owed a bit. He didn't particularly care much for the formalities of conversation, but he supposed he had been a touch rude. He had been hoping that the other had been Ayumu- he had such questions for the man and now once more those hopes were dashed to the rocks. Still, that was no reason to take it out on this other traveler, he presumed. He had done nothing wrong to Alex yet, and yet the human had treated the other quite rudely. For now, he supposed that he could at least attempt to return the favor in answering questions. Such a thing was not too trivial for the void user.
He turned back to face the man, for which he hadn't yet gotten a name. Not that it was a particularly big deal- Alex hadn't planned to carry on a long conversation with the fellow, but he had returned those questions to which Alexander had no real answer. Or rather he did, but he was partially ashamed of it. "The one that I was seeking was an old man who went by the name Ayumu. I had been training out here at one point, some months ago. He had appeared, as if by magic, from what I recall, and had struck up a conversation with not only myself, but also a young Saiyan that had crashed here as well. Appile, I believe his name was," he spoke, wondering if the Saiyan was still around, or if he had been devoured by the Void.
"As for why he did so...I asked for it," Alex spoke, keeping the shame out of his voice as well as he could. "I had hit a plateau in my strength. I had trained until I had no energy left and even so, I was no stronger. This man, Ayumu, he offered me a pact with something that could improve my battle skill if I were to accept. I was frustrated with lack of progress and as such, I accepted what was presented to me without considering the alternatives, or the future. It was a choice that at the time I should have considered further. But the strength that it has given me has been...fortunate," he spoke, not wanting to reveal the true level of his might.
He narrowed his eyes a bit then, almost accusatory as he watched this observer, this interrogator. "Why the interest, out of curiosity? Are you too looking for a way to increase your power? Even if it isn't...traditional?" Alexander asked, the empty energy beginning to appear, unbidden, along his arm.

The young man had indeed turned back around when Kayle had asked him to stop, telling him that he could be called Alex for short. Good, Kayle really wasn't in the mood to be chasing him down, and it was obvious that this person had a uniqueness about him that was different than most. The mans arms was at least able to tell him that much. Kayle stood there, looking the young man over once more before answering. He seemed to at least have good manners. This might be something that Kayle could capitalize on later. It was the power that Kayle wanted, not the man himself. Kayle needed this power, he craved this power. Anything to push his body past what it was now, as it seemed to have stagnated since the coma. Kayle walked up to the stranger before him, and look him straight in the eyes. If the man couldn't tell before, it should be obvious now based on his reddish brown hair, and vibrant green eyes that he was a hybrid. He never was one to wrap his tail around his waist as most saiyans did, and as such, he remained behind him, swishing back and forth, a habit he had when he was thinking about things.
"Alex. Good, good, much less of a mouthful. As you can probably tell, I am part saiyan, but what my looks wont tell you is that I was primarily raised on Vegeta. I need to acquire power to be able to go back there. I have more than doubled my power level since coming here to Earth, but this is no where near enough. I need much much more. Training doesn't seem to be fast enough. It seems that, like you, my body has reached its limit and progresses very slowly. I blame this on my human half, especially as you, a pure human by the looks of it, has had similar problems. Tell me about this Ayumu, boy. Where might I find him? How did he help you? What exactly was done to your arm? I had my own way of attempting to gather power fast, but if this man can help me then I need to find him." Kayle said in reply to the man. "You, a mere human, can have no idea what it is to be low in power of Vegeta, especially as a hybrid. I need this power. If you do not help, I will just find him on my own. My name is Kayle, and I propose a deal. I tell you what I was planning, and you tell me about the Ayumu person, and his dealings. Perhaps we can both benefit from this exchange of ideals, yes? What do you say?"
Kayle stood that, sill staring deeply into the stranger Alex's eyes, hoping that he would take the offer of exchange. Nothing right now was more important than gaining power, not with what he had seen was out there. Not only were there super saiyans to deal with, but there were mutant humans, killer android, and even biologically created monsters that ate people. This was not to mention the arcosians, the naturally dreadful race they were. In Kayel's mind there was nothing wrong with accepting help from others, but for one to deserve it they at least had to make an attempt at protecting themselves. This is why Kayle wanted more power, to at least try.

Alexander waited as the other seemed to consider what he was going to do as an approach. Despite the fact that he had his own training to get to, he could not deny that he was...curious. He didn't know for certain what this Saiyan wanted from him, but a fight was almost certainly not it, at least not as far as he were aware. If that had been the case, the Saiyan would have already begun to initiate his attack. They were all brutes, as far as Alexander was aware, and none of them had the least bit of tact. They were little more than animals with capacity for speech, and that had been proven time and time again with his numerous interactions with them. This one seemed to be a bit perhaps more...refined than his bretheren, though the male couldn't be certain what that might portend. Such a strange way of presenting oneself was not something that Alexander was used to from the monkey-like Saiyans. It was then that the other began to speak, and Alex quirked a brow. Part saiyan? So there was more to him than the spiked hair and the tail, it seemed like. He wondered what that might be, but he didn't bother to ask. The man seemed like he was going to keep speaking, and as such, he merely planned to listen. As his master taught, there was more that could be learned by listening and watching someone speak, than by asking them questions. He continued to talk then, admitting that he was half-human then as well. He wondered if the fellow had any plan to throw in with the rest of the humans, or if he were simply going to stay on the side of the Saiyan armies. Alexander had heard little about them, but it seemed to be much of what his father and father's friends spoke of often. These were often in quiet, hushes whispers and left Alexander with very little information on his own as far as what that meant. His eye twitched slightly at being called "boy" but he supposed that he had no idea how old this one was. Aging was different on Saiyans. They seemed to mature quickly and stay their age for many years before quickly succumbing to old age once they were past their prime. "If I knew where to find him, I would have met with him already," Alexander responded. The Void began to pulse in the back of his mind as he spoke, and he knew it was She Who Watches, listening in. She was watching him, much as her name indicated, and was curious and taking part in those who wished for the same power that Alexander wielded. "I do not know, even now, that 'help' is proper word, Saiyan," he spoke. Even if Kayle was half, he was raised on Vegeta, and that made him more Saiyan than human. "But I was bound to something that existed far beyond our current plane. That is the power that I wield," he said simply, his tone quiet, empty. "As far as Ayumu, I can only tell you what little I know. I did not deal with him for long. The pact was complete after I had endured an hour of agony...and then he was gone," Alex spoke, frowning slightly. "So I know not what can be done to provide you with that information...but I can offer you everything that I do." B̨̘̳̥̒̂͠R̦̬̱͋͒̓͝Ȉ̶̶̛͈̙̯͚̮͋͛ͣ̀̆̓ͨN̨̦͖̖̄ͫ̋̓̈́̈ͥ̉̽͘Ģ̣͍̘̰̝̻̠̼̻̾̌ͥͯ̃̑̏ ̵̢̢͚͓͇̘͉ͣ̓̋ͩͮͧͬ̾ͅḢ̘͉͎̭̪̒͠Į̟͎̞̗̞̥͂̇M̋̉͊̂̔ͤ̄͏̥͍ ̜͉̾̎̃̄ͦ̇͛͢͝Į̴̳͒́ͧ̄͑ͥN̐̐͘͏̲̰T͈̗̫̻͍͙̤͈̗̐͌͝O̷̹̣͂͊̃̃ͬ̑͞ ̺͖͕̹̘͎̓͋̄ͧͬ̒̏͟T̨̨̜̺̞̫̏̑H̱͖̳̺̹̳̥́͆È͙̦͕̫̺̔ͥ̋͛̓͜ ̡̤̮̱̯̰̅̐̽ͭ̎ͧͧ̀͟ͅV̢̠͕͍̺̫͎ͯ̑͒̓ͦ̏̐̀ͅȮ͙̻͕̫̮̺̋̕ͅI͚̗̥̟̖͕̳̮̅͋͆̂͌͘D̯̿ͯͭ̍ͅͅ
The words came to Alexander unbidden, much as the power he controlled, or rather, the power that controlled him. He felt his mouth go completely dry, as if a desert had taken up residence on his tongue, and his breath burned in his chest. He coughed then, feeling that fiery burn in his lungs as he tried to combat the Void that dictated his movements. Kayle, who did not know Alexander well, likely would not see much in the way of a change with him. However, his gaze was a bit stronger, more potent now, and those green eyes of his seemed to radiate with a new power. "Of course, there may be a far more direct way to...teach you this power," Alexander spoke, the empty energy riding up his arm once more. "Although I must ask of you the same question posed to me." Alexander's voice took on a slight flanging, as if there were a second voice echoing his words milliseconds after he'd already spoken. "Is it power you seek?"

Kayle stared at the man for what seemed to be an eternity, just waiting for him to answer. When the stranger named Alex finally did speak, it wasn't to tell Kayle what he had wanted to hear. It turned out that he had no idea where this Ayumu guy was, but it seemed that this man was powerful indeed. It seemed that it was this Ayumu person is who Kayle needed to seek, but maybe this man before him could still be of some use. He did say that he would be able to offer everything that he knew, and Kayle was adamant of finding out what he could. Gaining power for the number one concern, especially from what he had seen out there. Despite being raised on Vegeta, Kayle never was completely like the rest of the saiyan race, and as such always knew that turning away someone that could help was always worse than trying everything on your own. Time and life had taught him that, and it was something that pure bred saiyans seemed incapable of learning for themselves. Even if this Alex person knew knowing that could help Kayle with his gains of power, all he would waste by inquiring would be time, and that was something that he had an abundance of for the time being, thankfully.
Kayle looked over at the man before him, and pondered on how the best way to answer him might be. In the end, he simply decided on being direct. There was no reason not to be as it was not like he had anything to hide. "Do I seek power, you ask?" Kayle reiterated Alexander's question to him. The truth was that it was indeed power that he sought, but probably not for the reasons that Alex thought. "It is true that I do seek power, but I seek it for my own ends, and not for the reasons you would imagine with talking to someone with saiyan blood. You see, my new friend, I am not one hundred percent like the pure breeds of my race. For instance, I don't see much point in attacking a weaker species like humans. There is no challenge in this. Of course, I also don't see a point in preventing it. People who won't train to at least try to protect themselves have no right to be protected by others. The reason that I seek power is more for self preservation than anything. You have no idea what I have seen out there, the immense powers that are abroad in the universe, hell even one on this very planet. And, no, I do not speak of the fabled super saiyan. I have met two super saiyans in my time, and the power that I speak of would make them look like a puppy dog compared to a human who never trained. So I guess, yes, short answer is that I seek power, but not for powers sake." Kayle explained more to the stranger in the woods. "Why? Is there anyway that you might be able to help me with this? I bet the fact that you are seeking this Ayumu person so fervently that he would have something to do with what happened to you."

So. He wanted power for himself, but not for the sake of simply having power. Kayle desired power to defend himself from that which was stronger than himself. A noble goal, if a cowardly one. "I see," Alex responded to the words the man spoke. "I can see your reasons, and I can respect them...but this power is not meant for one who simply wishes to defend themselves," he spoke, his expression darkening, as if that idea made him...angry, somehow. He extended his arm outward toward a nearby bamboo stalk. "Observe," he demanded simply, his tone and countenance still changing by the second to something a little less friendly, and something a little more sinister. It seemed that in the face of wanting to convert someone else over to the Void, Alex had become more of a vessel than anything else, and as such, he was having to demonstrate this power, something that he hadn't yet shown any others.
As his hand rested upon the trunk of the bamboo, that dark, ephemeral energy lanced up his arm, covering it with its darkened glow. It seemed to draw light in, rather than give it off as a fire would, though it seemed to share other properties in its similarity. There was a moment of waiting, before the area around Alexander's hand began to turn grey, the color vanishing from the stalk bit by bit. As it reached a few inches above where his hand sat, the entire thing shuddered, and that which had turned grey shattered like fragile glass into a cloud of what appeared to be ashes. Should Kayle have enough power to sense even the minute life energy from the trees around him, he might sense that any energy that the bamboo trunk...was gone. It wasn't killed, it had been completely eradicated. During the entire process, Alexander's gaze never left Kayle, curious as to the reaction.
"This is the power of destruction. To wield it means to bring about this eventuality, to everything. Before everything, there was the Void. After everything ends, there will be the Void. Humans, Saiyans, their petty war is little but a pinprick in the vast flow of time, of the cosmos," Alexander spoke, his voice still giving off that strange resonance with every word. It was getting steadily more pronounced as he talked, but he either didn't notice, or didn't care. "If you plan to wield it for your own reasons of keeping your own skin alive, I would not advise getting in over your head, warrior," he spoke, the slight resonance fading for a moment, almost as if Alexander were trying to fight the Void that was commanding his every action, his every word, in order to warn him. But the words didn't sound like a warning, no. More like information. To have Kayle make the proper choice for himself and if the half-saiyan saw his path walking down the same route that Alexander was, then the human would pass along the power, by all means.
It seemed that Alexander had actually lost interest in whatever it was that Kayle had in his hands. The books, the research, the information...right now, none of that mattered to the void user as his emerald eyes flickered with the shadows of the power that encompassed his right arm. "So I ask you again, warrior," he continued, moving his arm from where it still sat extended over the ruined tree, splaying his fingers out in an inviting gesture towards Kayle. There was a strange sensuality that Alexander didn't quite have before, and the discordance had grown even more now, to the point where if Kayle listened closely, he could hear a feminine voice behind Alexander's- likely the origin of the power that Alex was drawing from. There was a small pause, before the human's gaze darkened further, and the shadowy flames exploded into a relative bonfire of force as he stared down the half-saiyan. "Is it power you seek?"

Kayle watched as Alexander began to change. Everything about him changed, from his general demeanor, to the glow around his hand, to even his voice have a slight feminine over tone, while his true voice still being faintly there as well. He didn't really know what to make of this. He looked on as this new, obviously changed, entity began to demonstrate the power that it wielded. It began to move over to a stalk of bamboo, and told him to observe what was to come next. The energy that had started out around his hand, began to crawl up his arm and become darker, and and seemed to absorb the light around it. Slowly, as Alexander grabbed the stalk, it began to turn gray at the point of contact, the grayness beginning to emanate further and further down the stalk, apparently draining the every essence from the bamboo itself. When the entire stalk had been turned gray, it seemed to disintegrate into nothing but a cloud of ash. Kayle didn't know what to make of all this. It was unlike anything he had ever seen. Could this person be one of the devils of legend that he sought all along? What else would have to the power to do such things that he had seen. Nothing, not even the Arcosians who were fabled to be able to destroy entire planets with a flick of the wrist were able to do what he had just saw. The thing before him didn't die, it was completely wiped form the very reality in which they stood.
The new being, who obviously not the same Alex he had met before, began to explain that this was the power of true destruction. Not the art of killing, as some believed destruction to be, but the very act of uncreating creation itself. To make something that had existed before truly nonexistent. Kayle didn't think such a thing was possible, but was intrigued by the idea. The being then started to ask Kayle, again, if it was power that he sought. The truth was that it was power there he sought, but given the change in Alex, he wasn't sure that this was so much power as it was possession, and that was something Kayle wanted nothing of. His body was his, and no one elses. Still, he decided to entertain the idea, at least for the moment.
"Power. Of course power is what I seek, isn't that what all saiyans seen? I need you to tell me more about this power though. There is obviously a catch somewhere that I am not seeing. What is the price of this so called 'power of destruction' as you call it? What will I have to do to obtain it? I can tell that not only Alex is there, that something else with with him. It is to this entity that I wish to speak. No offense to you Alex, but perhaps this entity could explain things in more detail. I am not your typical saiyan warrior that rushes into things blindly after all."

"Tell you about the Void? How very curious you are~" the voice cooed, the feminine tone that definitely didn't seem to be Alexander. The manner of speech had all changed as well, as Kayle had noticed. The power that he seemed to be after was not something that he felt fully subscribed to just yet...and now it was time for She Who Watches to indicate that, to find the way that she could convert him over to the Void. "A catch? Not at all, my dear boy. Alexander is just very...special, to me," the feminine voice cooed, having overtaken Alexander's voice almost entirely. "In order to utilize this power, you need simply make a pact with me. Of course, the transferral of power from myself to you initially can be quite...painful, as Alexander can attest to," the boy spoke, though it was not him that was answering the questions. "You are a lucky one...or simply perhaps an intelligent one. Alexander ran headfirst into my embrace without considering what might be at stake, but he has been oh-so interesting a specimen to watch grow..." the voice continued. "To obtain this power, you must forge that pact with me. I will draw on your strength, and in return, you will draw on mine. The power of the Void is absolute- its power cannot be matched by anything, especially not the power of ki that you all seem to take such an interest in here in this universe," the feminine voice continued, and Alexander mad a small shake of his head, gesturing with one hand at Kayle.
"Of course, once you have taken the Void into your soul, you are bound to it, just as it is bound to you. You may have spoken to others, or perhaps your teacher had spoken to you once upon a time regarding life after death. With the Void, you have no such...luxury to spend time with those of kinder sorts. When you die, your soul comes to me, little half-saiyan. If you desire power, then you must pay the cost of that power. For your ki that you use, you must put in time, effort, tireless training and find, much as you've found now, that you will reach a point where you can no longer increase you potential. How so very sad..." the woman continued, moving a half-step closer toward the other.
She started to reach a hand out, before the woman paused. The body didn't seem to move for a few moments after that, before the hand pulled back, and the wide-eyed expression that had been worn faded, reverting back to Alexander's default, line-faced expression. "Don't take control without my permission," he spoke, directed at the being that he drew his power from, rather than at Kayle. The emerald green eyes shifted over to the half-saiyan. "I don't know if what she spoke of death is true or not, but I can guarantee that the pact itself will put you through hell. But as soon as it's over, there is a new rush of power. I do draw it from her, channel it through my right arm," Alex spoke, raising his right as the empty, flame-like energy whipped around his hand. "But she holds little control over me. She believes she does...but when the time comes for me to meet my fate and leave this mortal coil, I will enjoy meeting her face-to-face for the first time," the man spoke, and rather than any sort of earnest interest, there was little more than a need to challenge that which was stronger.
"If you are strong of will, do not be afraid of her words. You will sustain yourself through nothing more than sheer force of will. If you can force yourself to live through the agony of the contract, you will almost certainly be able to overpower her," he spoke, his tone flat, empty. He was once again the same young man that Kayle had met initially.

Kayle was listening still to the speaking of the voice that was not a voice. This was something that he had never encountered before. This Alexander person before him seemed to not only be himself, but also to harbor another within. A female. As the female being began to take more and more control of the moral vessel, her voice became clearer and clearer until the female form was all that he could hear. It was as if Alexander himself was no longer even present. The voice of the woman began to speak about unfathomable power, the only cost would be Kayle would belong to her upon his death. In the short term this seemed to be like quite a deal, but in the long run it might just not be that great. Kayle could not even speculate on what would happen in this females realm, if even she could do what she said. For all Kayle knew, this was all some sort of game that the boy was playing with him. People could empower themselves to became like gods simply through training themselves, who was to say that one could not use the same power to throw ones voice.
Time went on as the girl seemed to talk more and more about the power of the void, and its cost, almost as if trying to goad Kayle into forming one of these pacts with her. He was not about to jump into this however, and most of him was leaning toward no. The price for this power seemed a little to much. He had seen what this void could do, and if it could do that on this physical plane, what would be done to his soul if it were to enter a realm made of the stuff? No of this seemed to bode well to Kayle, and it was at this moment that Alexander seemed to take back over, as if nothing had ever happened. He chided the woman, who ever she was, for taking control without his permission, going on the speak about her not being as power as she claimed to be. He continued to speak about looking forward to meeting her in person upon his death.
After listening to both, or perhaps one and the same, beings speak, Kayle had a decision to make. He could accept the gift of the void, or he could ignore it. Right now, he didn't have near enough information to make a well informed decision about it. He then looked at the man straight in the eyes, and began to speak himself.
"Both of you claim to be the one in control. She says that she has power beyond imagination, and you say she is far weaker than she claims. One thing isn't adding up, however. Let me ask you this, if she is truly so weak, then how is she able to give you the power to do what you just did? How did she take over your body without permission just now? By what I have seen so far, she allows you to believe that you are stronger, slowly manipulating you on the inside. I am by far from an expert from this, but that is what I have observed so far. So, with this, I would have to go with no to this power of the void. Being manipulated on the inside is just as bad, if not worse than, being manipulated and controlled from the outside. Unless there is something that one of you could show me to prove this thought otherwise."

The multitude of questions that Kayle rained down upon Alexander was something that shouldn't have given him pause. They shouldn't have made him think about things at all and he should have been simply confident in his power- that this was something that he needn't even bother himself with. He had more than enough power to outlast her and become the strongest thing in this universe. He had that power, that strength...and yet there was something that was nagging at the back of his mind from Kayle's words. Was she truly so weak that he could overpower her as easily as he'd thought? If that was the case...then why had she been able to so easily invade and overpower his sense of self without a struggle? He hadn't even considered a fact that she was playing him for a fool...and now that he did consider it, the very thought made his blood boil a little bit. There was a flash of anger and irritation in his mind then, and while he wanted to speak with the woman...he knew that she wasn't going to respond. Not yet.
"I suppose that you have a point," Alexander admitted after a few seconds of thought, trying to find the best way to word that, perhaps, this power wasn't quite as 'no strings attached' as he'd considered it to be. The power that he'd gotten from Ayumu...he wondered if the man knew all of this as well- that perhaps this power that he was holding deep within him, that was granted from his right arm and from the Void beyond was something that he did have to keep that tight control on, otherwise it would take him over completely. There wasn't anything that he could do for it beyond just meet it where it was, and try his best to keep from succumbing to its power. "I hadn't considered such before but had always assumed it simply meant that I'd let my guard down. However- there could be some truth to your words- perhaps there is some merit in shying away from harboring this power," Alexander mused, his tone quiet, introspective.
"But even so, the power that it does grant you is quite...alluring," he admitted, the power swelling around his right hand again. "I suppose the power that you're reading up on there is something different entirely, though I wouldn't really blame you if it was something a little more...safe. But as they say, you have to risk much to gain much- risking only a little at a time will net you with very little reward. The question is, just how much are you willing to risk?" the boy spoke, curious. He himself had risked it all, on a guess that the power that Ayumu was granting wouldn't kill him, or worse. He was fairly certain that he wasn't dead, but by that same token, there was a great power that lay within him now, something dormant and powerful drawn from another world and should it take control over his body...then would that not be a fair price to pay for the power that he now held?
