HEAVY WEIGHTS ON!
The small city in the Southern Islands had a comfortable high temperature and the lights in the afternoon made it very atmospheric and lively. The narrow streets were crowded with a lot of people and stands protruding from the shops, and you would eventually run into a jostle when trying to walk. The blondie did have some trouble to reach his desired location and once he'd enter into the convenience store, he wiped his sweat from his temples. The female cashier was staring at Kaito with a doubtful stare because of his fashionably uncommon enter. Kaito shrugged with a smile which indicated an apology and pointed behind him with his thumb, trying to shake the blame off his shoulders. His finger pointed at the endless crowd as it buzzed as loudly as ever before the electronic sliding door closed and the store became silent again. Kaito advanced through the store and reached the food section and was looking for cheese. Well, since he would be visiting his master Saitama after an awful long of time, he had to bring one of his favorite foods with him. Once he'd purchased the items he'd ask the cashier with a soft voice whether he could use the alternative door option, and she just blankly agreed, as she put the money in the case.
"Deciding to look like a normal person doesn't fit me at all. Walking those awfully narrow streets was a bad idea after all."
As Kaito stepped outside, it was practically empty. Now he was able to float in the air without having people scream at him for being an alien or a monster. As sad as it sounded, there was a huge number of people who still didn't have the idea of Ki. Nothing good would come from this. The universe is in crisis and there were too many people who were incompetent to at least stand up for their planet. Kaito just shook his head as he ascended to high heights and dashed in a full throttle.
The human was beyond excited. It hadn't been too long since he came back on Earth. Whenever Kaito thought about all the stuff which happened to him so far, it sounded crazy. The trip to Namek started it all actually. He first met up with Gnash, who now was his best friend. Then the introduction of Gnash led Kaito to meet many other folks, including the Saiyan of Darkness Riku, and a lot of kind Namekians in the Slug Planet. It was a nice adventure, but it had to end. In the last few days, Kaito and Gnash met up with the bio-android called Belle. In the end of a brief discussion between the three warriors, they learned that a man called Beryl Roarke, part of the Galactic Patrol, was in Namek to recruit new and fresh blood. This sparked a burning desire in Kaito's heart, and the three of them decided to join the faction. However, the gold and shiny emblem glued in Kaito's red Gi wasn't easily gained, though. The three of them basically had to go through a fierce battle against Beryl to prove they were worthy of being part of the Galactic Patrol. However the feeling of getting acknowledged by someone stronger than you was really sweet.
The sun was setting. Kaito was flying at small speeds, he didn't want to rush things up at all. Stroking his beardless chin, the human was thinking of how his master Saitama would react. The two last saw each other when Kaito decided to set off on his journey. The human recalled a faint "goodbye" wave by the old man Saitama. It was understandable; Saitama had considered him like a grandson since he took him under his dojo. The gi-toted human was very excited to show his master his strength, knowledge and progress. The old man would probably blink his wrinkly eyes repeatedly and shed tears of joy as he'd jump in Kaito's arms. Without realizing at all, was Kaito accompanied by a huge smile on his face; his brown hues shining brightly as he stared at the reddish orange color of the dusk.
Kaito peered down as he floated in the air. Progressively, objects below were becoming more and more familiar. The riverbank, the fruit trees, the playgrounds, the forests. This brought back so many memories. Kaito stopped his movement and started to descend slowly. He wiped a small sized tear off his bottom eyelashes as he made contact with that beloved grass he had once stepped on. That's right; Kaito finally arrived in his hometown, Taro Island. Kaito spun his head slowly from side to side. He wasn't getting enough of the view; he had missed it so much. Kaito began to run wildly as he heard the "roar" and "grr" sounds of the tigers. The blondie's eyes widened in excitement and thrill, he was only seconds away to meet and hug his friends. The flock of tigers came out from behind the trees and hurriedly went to Kaito. Both sides hugged each other; the tigers licking Kaito all over his face. The human laughed in joy while patting the tigers' fur. He then started to communicate with them in a way that only Kaito knew.
These guys basically were Kaito's childhood friends. He was a bright kid in his childhood years, and could make friends quickly, be them human or other races. Kaito befriended these tigers at a very young age when he used to go for wood chopping or training in the forest. At first, the wild animals were expectedly very harsh, however, Kaito was able to tame their wild heart into a peaceful one when they were around him. Since then, the tigers have been loyal friends to the human.
After spending all the time he needed and wanted with them, Kaito decided to stand up from lying back and playing with the tigers. He had to go and meet his parents, his master and the people in the village. The hardworking neighbors of Kaito had always liked the nature of the boy. Kaito always helped them in their tasks, be it to chop woods, plow the field or harvest fruits. Kaito had a sort of an attractive aura around him, and maybe this was the reason of Kaito's heart of gold. The human made his way out of the forest and entered the alleys of the village which led to his house. During his walk, Kaito greeted a lot of people; most of them jumping in their arms and saying that they missed him. Soon, the villagers formed a crowd to welcome Kaito's brief return to the village. Right now, they were truly feeling proud of the strongest warrior of this area.
"Hooray, hooray"
All kinds of celebrating sounds were heard among the villagers.
"Kaito-nii san, you're back!" Would a few little kids say to the blonde warrior, who was slightly confused. Had he always been this popular? Or the fact that Kaito wasn't here anymore made them miss him even more? Whatever the case may be, Kaito felt good to be back. He saluted everyone; he admittedly said that he missed them too. Kaito nodded to the enthusiastic kids who playfully latched onto Kaito's red pants, their innocent glare piercing the blondie's soul.
"Brother Kaito, will you teach us martial arts?"
The kids obviously took that word very lightly. But Kaito couldn't blame them. He was like them when he was young too. He had never thought he'd taken his martial arts passion this far, but he didn't deny that it was such a fruitful ride. It had its harsh side too. But who knew for sure? Maybe these kids would turn out to be stronger than Kaito in the distant future. Maybe Kaito wasn't even considered remotely strong in galactic levels too. But one thing was for certain, there was always room for improvement. Kaito felt like he hadn't unleashed his full potential yet, and in order to do that, he would seek more advice from his master, Saitama.
Kaito twisted his lips while laughing and replied. "Haha, you guys sure are lively! Alright, I will teach you a thing or two, but first, let me meet with my closest people and take some rest."
Kaito continued his walk towards his home with slow steps, enjoying this nostalgic scenery as he'd further go ahead. Kaito's smile had been present all the time; he was being driven by his homesickness now. Visiting your town once in a while obviously was a good thing for your mental and emotional state. Coming here originally wasn't in Kaito's plans to begin with, but since his Galactic Patrol friends went in their respective directions and Kaito had some free time, then why not? He was glad he decided to come here anyway.
Steadily, his house and yard started to appear over the horizon. It hadn't changed even a little bit, even after one year and a half. The sun had finally fallen and darkness conquered every corner. However the lights were on inside the building, and Kaito wondered what his parents were doing. If he had to guess, his father was probably napping and his mom either cooking or watching the boxing matches on TV. His heart started to race fast; the thought of finally seeing his parents once again was very moving. The human took slower steps when he walked into his yard, each of them being meaningful and reviving up a lot of sweet memories. On the right side, lied the plowed fields with the sowed vegetables on it. The faint moonlight shed light on the passage, filled with gray patterned stones. Kaito stood right in front of the door, pausing for a moment. Once he'd get past this barrier, he'd be able to see his beloved parents.
The human dimly raised his muscle-packed arm, knocking slightly. After a little bit, faint sounds of footsteps came into life. The sound got progressively more vivid until it stopped. A crack pierced through Kaito's ear before the door would open and he'd see his cherished mother. The human's eyes melted a little bit, as mother and son both jumped into each others' arms. It had been so long since they had seen each other. His mother, Kenya, wasn't believing her eyes for a moment. She plucked her skin to prove to herself that she wasn't dreaming. It was true, her son Kaito had finally returned home. She immediately thought of how she would enjoy every moment with him, no matter how brief his stay will be here.
"Kaito, my son..."
"I'm back, mother!"
Kaito cracked a genuine smile as he entered the house. Everything looked the same since he set off. Nothing could replace your own home's warmth and atmosphere. Kaito changed into a casual attire before he met his father; his Gi was all torn up and would be ugly to be seen by your old man in that state. Kaito's father, called Shou, was a middle-aged man who was respected by all the villagers. He was honest and hardworking. His determined character to help his family had forced him to give his martial arts lessons up and focus on his family's well being. Shou, too, played a major part in Kaito's interest in martial arts, aside his grandpa. He'd encouraged Kaito every day to pick it up again after the grandpa passed away. For this, Kaito was very grateful to his father and respected him the most.
After eating dinner with his parents, Kaito went to his room to meditate. It would be the first time he'd meditated since he came back to Earth. The last time he tried to meditate in Namek got all ruined by a bio-android called Xeru, so the blondie had to go to another place, which wasn't hard to stumble upon at all. Namek had a lot of natural pearls on its surface. He had to get ready for tomorrow because he was going to train the new blood in the morning and then meet his master Saitama. The human reflected for a total of 45 minutes before he went to sleep; his head free of troublesome thoughts and his heart pure.
A new day was born. Kaito woke up before the sun rose fully and washed his face. The human wore a short-sleeved T-shirt, brown short pants and shoes, and a ruby red headband which went very well with his golden locks. This was going to be a decisive day by all means; if Kaito would step back then he'd be irredeemable. The human headed outside and jogged around the house in circles. He filled his lungs with as much oxygen as possible and kept his exhaling for a long period of time. This was something Kaito tended to do every time he'd train in the morning. Kaito halted and bounced several times in the air, landing precisely at the same place he'd plant his foot earlier. His body balance checked out too. The blondie clenched his palms into a fist and put them forward, assuming an invisible opponent standing in front of him. He then threw his fist forward and continued to jab the air continuously, alternating his punches. Simultaneously, Kaito would also duck downwards and sidewards to dodge any "incoming" punches from the imaginary opponent. The human kept his pace for 15 minutes before he stopped and sat on the small stool, to catch his breath.
That was his daily training.
"Oh, here they are."
Kaito had promised the three kids that he'd hold a small training and sparring session early in the morning. They didn't forget, and judging by their loud yellings and hasty footsteps, they were restless about it. Kaito appeared in front of them with a huge smile on his face and greeted the kids by waving his hand. "Good morning!" The kids also greeted Kaito back in chorus. The kids weren't completely ignorant in the world of fighting. They were about 8 or 9 years old, and they already knew the basics of martial arts. Ki was a relatively new concept to them, and Kaito was hoping that he'd teach them to control this beautiful energy which existed in their bodies. The human made a hand gesture as a sign for them to follow him. The kids enthusiastically nodded and were lead by Kaito in a plain, big grassy field. It wasn't nothing special but it worked.
"Alright then, kids. I'm here to help you guys getting better and closer to achieve whatever your dreams may be, involving martial arts, of course." The human chuckled, as he waited for the kids' response. They all spoke in order and completed each other's sentences.
"Good morning, master Kaito...!"
"...We look forward to..."
"...be taught from you!"
"Haha! Alright, kids, I like your spirits! That's how you should be! Alright then, time to get to work. We will do a little sparring first and then I will hold an academic lesson."
Kaito took his battle stance. Unlike his usual posture, this one was rather simple, similar to what Beryl pulled off on him on Namek. He simply stretched his arms forward, his right arm a little bit more advanced than the left. He then moved his index finger up and down to instruct the little kids that they should commence their plan attack now. The kids joined their head together for a few seconds, and all of them nodded with a grin to each other. They eyed the human Kaito, who was getting bored of waiting this long. Two of the kids lunged forward to attack Kaito head-on. "Hm, a straight forward attack?" The two kids delivered a faint punch towards Kaito's stomach, but all they hit was his muscular forearm. The kids then followed with a barrage of punches. They were persistent, no matter how weak their punches were. "What were those mumblings they spouted to each other for...?" Kaito was starting to doubt the kids' plan and was about to scold them for mindlessly charging at your enemy. However, Kaito forgot the third kid! By the moment Kaito was reminded of him, it was too late, though. A dim shadow appeared up above which obscured Kaito's vision; it was the other kid. "So that was their plan! These two were just a decoy." Kaito would inevitably get hit, either by the two kids on the ground of the airborne one. Kaito would also be in the same boat if he didn't use a small portion of his overall skill and evade the kids' strategy by jumping in the air and landing on the safe ground.
The kids tripped over a rock and eventually stacked up in a pile. They groaned, looking furiously over Kaito who was just standing there. "It would be better if I set my overall power level to lower amounts. It would be dangerous if I accidentally hit them at this strength." Kaito let his arms loose, closing his eyes and focusing on his Ki. With that amount of concentration, Kaito was able to set his power level at the level of the kids, to make it a fair match. The kids started lunging forward again, with no real plan in their minds. They were a little frustrated that their genius plan didn't work in the first attempt. Kaito noticed this and noted their huge mistake. The blonde haired human also rushed forward and started throwing some weak jabs simultaneously at the three of them. As the fight went on, Kaito said in a serious and harsh tone. "This is where you guys messed up! Don't give up in your strategies so soon. Never make this mistake, it will cost you greatly. Hell, if you swapped me with a real enemy then you would be as good as dead now!" Kaito grabbed the three of them by their arm and pinned them down the ground, restricting their movements. "Charging forward with no plans in your head is as good as playing with fire." Kaito really wasn't in place to talk himself, though. He had had a lot of moments himself that he lunged forward hastily, but somehow he had gotten lucky and not have regretted it.
Kaito let go of the kids and took a few steps away from them. He sat on the grass with his legs crossed and pointed up with his index finger. The kids also sat in front of him, eager to listen from their master. "Now listen. It is understandable that martial arts play a huge factor in winning your matches, however in the world of fighting, most people use this energy called Ki." Kaito took a withered leaf which rested on the dew. He placed it in his palm and soon afterward, the leaf started to float above Kaito's palm. The kids widened their eyes and were amazed by the blondie's performance. "This is a simple notion you can do with this amazing energy called Ki. Every living being has Ki in them, however only the chosen ones have been able to use it. However, bear this in your minds, do not use Ki for wicked purposes. If you do, your soul will get corrupted and you will rot in hell!"
The latter wasn't true at all, however, Kaito just wanted to put some fears into the little kids' sub-conscious; it would do no harm but further improve their alertness. The kids nodded as they listened to Kaito, carefully absorbing each word he said into their minds. Kaito noticed the kids' discipline and said some good words about their overall performance. This would lift their spirits up which was an extremely important aspect for a martial artist.
"Well, this is it, boys! I hope you liked the short but fruitful lesson. Of course, we will hold one more session before I set off again."
The words of Kaito saddened the kids. They didn't want him to leave again and not be able to hear from him. for who knows how long. However, their soul of a warrior told them to move on in life, and never look back, no matter what happened. The kids cheerfully waved goodbye to the blondie after they appointed their next training session. Then they left, leaving Kaito alone in the middle of the field. The blondie sat there, the gust of wind leaning against his face and flowing through his air. Would be able to leave his home again? In just a short period of time, he'd gotten so attached to it. The human tilted his head to wash those thoughts away, as he stood up.
"I should really go to meet my master now."
Saitama's dojo wasn't too far from where Kaito was. You would only need to get past some cliffs, and you would see that good old little building of his master, where Kaito had spent most of his years and learned most of the things. Wasting no time, Kaito set off. He floated in the air before he flared his snowy white aura and headed towards Saitama's dojo. The building was deep in the mountains and Kaito thought that getting there on foot would be a good idea, however, he would waste a lot of time dealing with the wildlife. So the air was the fastest option. In a matter of minutes, Kaito approached the small wooden dojo. The structure of it was pretty simple. It didn't consist of any beton, but the base was very strong to fall over, that the strongest hurricane would have some trouble. Kaito stepped on the grass in front of the dojo, making his aura scatter around the air without a trace. Kaito put his palm in his brows' level and scanned the place. This one wasn't an exception; it had that same good old vibe and atmosphere around it.
Small clouds of steam rose out of the small window. "That's the kitchen room." Thought Kaito with a confident look in his eyes. He remembered exactly every corner of the dojo. "Maybe the old man is cooking some tasty food." Kaito thought of making his arrival a surprise. He'd sneak into the house through the open door, and startle Saitama. However, the latter was an old wolf, he didn't fall for it. Kaito noticed his master's frame appearing right behind him, striking Kaito in the neck and forcing him to drop to his knees. Saitama grinned under his white and long beard and talked with this raspy voice.
"Hehe, you're the old immature Kaito!"
Saitama tried not to give himself in, but his emotions were overflowing. Letting go of Kaito, he'd pat the blondie on his shoulder while shedding a tear. "My dear student, how have you been?" Kaito was practically the same, if not worse. However, Kaito had trained himself to not to show any sign of emotion in these situations physically, even if this was a special case. Kaito sat up and hugged the old man and spoke soft words. "I've missed your scent, master."
The two sat beside the table. The dish Saitama was cooking was halfway done, so they had some time to converse with each other. Saitama stroked his white beard, narrowing his wrinkly eyes and chuckling from time to time.
"How have you changed, Kaito!"
"Ahh, don't say that, master. I've been through some things all this time... Actually..." Kaito paused. The old man noticed his hesitation and asked him what was the matter. Saitama figured why the blondie had come all the way here out somehow. Well, the simple thinker would say to meet him, but Saitama believed there was something more to it.
"I'll listen to anything you have to say, Kaito."
The human eyed his master repeatedly until he decided to tell him his impressive journey so far.
"Master, I have been out of Earth for a while..."
Kaito expected these words to strike Saitama almost brutally, however, they were received with a simple chuckle under his old teeth. He then spoke with a convinced tone.
"Yes, I know that! You've also joined Galactic Patrol, right?" Kaito's eyes widened and curiously asked the old man how he was able to know all that. "Ohh, it's nothing special. I just stopped sensing your Ki for a while, and the most plausible possibility was that you visited space for some time. I immediately knew that you came back too. There's no way I can forget your distinct Ki, and you have gotten so strong; stronger than me. Even a newbie could sense that amount of Ki." The old man paused and coughed a little bit. "Argh, this flu is annoying. It's that time of the year. Anyway, I saw that emblem of yours in your clothes. That belongs to the Galactic Patrol. What, you thought I didn't know of it? Gah, you underestimate the old man!" Saitama rushed to the oven, not letting Kaito the chance to speak. "Ahh, he has reached this far... Denkichi." The old man spoke in his mind while stirring the soup.
The food was ready and Saitama invited Kaito on the table. "Ittadakimasu!" Kaito prayed before he grabbed the spoon and started to eat hungrily. Saitama laughed at Kaito's desire of food; the blondie ate most of the soup in matter of minutes. The old man put the dishes in the sink and joined Kaito outside. "You know, old man... I used that move..." Said Kaito with a daring and bold voice. The old man sat on the edge of the balcony and smoked his tobacco pipe. He exhaled the smoke and then responded. "Kaito, you continue to impress me. But first, tell me how and why did you decide to use it?"
"Well, getting in the Galactic Patrol wasn't easy. I had to do a lot of work and spar against the leader, Beryl Roarke. He is the strongest person I've ever met, master. That man pushed me to my limits and I was forced to tap in my hidden powers..." Kaito grasped his head. "...Afterward, I don't really remember what happened to me. I became unconscious and woke up in Beryl's spaceship." The old man listened to his student with curiosity. He took yet another hit from the pipe and exhaled the smoke. "Now, I see why you came here." Kaito nodded. Saitama sat up and told Kaito to follow him.
After a while of continuous walking, Kaito found himself beside a huge mountain. It was so massive that you couldn't see its peak unless you floated some meters in the air. "You will have to demonstrate your technique before my eyes. I picked a wide field with a mountain like this one in case you might be unable to control your powers... If you're able to create a hole through this mountain and not fall unconscious, you should be able to use it anytime." Saitama stepped back to make way for Kaito.
Kaito's bangs fell on his eyes and he adjusted his headband to put them in their place. The blondie face looked pale and awfully serious. The human remembered Gnash and Riku's words in their voyage to Namek. Their disappointed faces were as vivid in Kaito's mind when he told them that he thought he was unable to perform Riku's Bomb Of Hell. He was told that if he continued to doubt himself like that, he could never reach his peak. They were right, all this time Kaito had battled against his inner demons in his body. They tried to eat that will of his away, leaving the human vulnerable to any severe mental state that could strike. He wasn't going to back off or run away anymore; he was going to take those wicked creatures head on and free himself of these chains. Of course, he wasn't alone; his master Saitama was there. He'd always be there when Kaito was going through hard times.
The human spread his legs apart, and with a simple outburst of his body and hands, he released a colossal amount of power. Unlike the last time, his muscles didn't bulk massively. Intuitively, Kaito had started to control this draining power, even if slowly. The blondie sported a white aura with some yellowish lighting streams tendencies here and there. The increased in size frame of Kaito shadowed over the mountain. Debris and all kind of rocks were collected around and circled his white aura, making it look like he was in the center of a sand storm. "L-Look, master Saitama! I'm controlling this power....!" That was right, the young boy was able to take hold of this immense energy which lied inside his body. His power level increased threefold, making the human almost unstoppable. The blondie collected his right palm into a fist and flickered forward the rocky mountain in an insane speed. "Hhhhuarghh!" Kaito's fist connected with the mountain's harsh surface almost instantly. Cracking sounds were heard before the surface split open, and eventually, a completed hole was created all the way to the other side of the mountain, as a result of Kaito's strike. The sound of the strike echoed all the way through the endless horizontal hole, and the wind flowing only added more noise to it. The mountain started to fall apart.
"Kaito!"
The old man screamed, worried about his student's safety. However, he was a little bit hasty in worrying like that. The human Kaito came out of the dust in perfect shape, sporting a smile on his face. His aura was still present, however as soon as Kaito talked, it disappeared and the human dropped on his knees, heavily panting. "I did it... old man!" Regardless, this was much, much better than what happened to Kaito in Namek.
"Now you truly deserve your grandpa's Gi, Kaito! Denkichi would sure be proud...!"
Kaito leaned against a rock with a satisfied face. He then let out a loud scream to release all that negative energy out of his body; he was finally a free eagle!
