When last we left Sangu, he'd happened upon an old couple living in the Frozen North. He'd passed out from exhaustion due to the fact that he'd hiked the rest of the way to the old shack as the perilous road ended. Jim and Martha took the young man in, rescuing him from an icy death on the dangerous Yunzabit Highlands. Jim had planned on using the boy to help out around the farm and harvest his ice berries to sell at the market.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the three humans, two dangerous powers had gone unsensed on the Highlands. Marsh and Mallo, Cube's personal Android Assassins had landed deep in the woods and sensing Sangu, knew where their target was. Their mission? Kill the Sangu!
We join our hero and his new friend right as he meets his would-be assassins, the two having shown up at the front door of the kindly old couple. What will come of this meeting? Will the Androids destroy their target? Their dark power looms!
Back To Our Story
Sangu looked at the two strange Androids calmly, and noticed the APPC insignia on their breast. He could have sworn he'd heard Cube mention these two before, but he couldn't put his finger on when. After all, his experience with Androids had been minimal up until now. Which is why he couldn't understand why he couldn't sense them. He narrowed his eyes. "Excuse me...you want me, but what do you want with me? To kill me? What purpose would that serve you? Why doesn't Cube grow some balls?"
The two Androids looked at one another, Mallo'a face twisted in confusion. Marsh shook it's head and looked at the brash human. "Your words confuse me, Sangu. However we have a mission to complete and it's to kill you, obviously. Haven't you learned by now that Cube wants you destroyed?"
"Of course..." Sangu chuckled. "...but why isn't HE here to do it himself? I'd be hard pressed to say that he has any faith in his own power. Furthermore, why send two...weaklings...like yourselves after me? Let's face it. I can take you both on. By myself." One would wonder if his bravado was false, seeing as how he couldn't get a sense of the Androids' true power.
Big Mallo spoke in a monotone voice, pounding his fist into his palm. "Are you that stupid, Sangu? We are elite assassins. You cannot-"
"-hold on, Mallo..." Marsh interrupted and began charging a blast in the palm of her hand. She didn't point her palm at Sangu, no. She pointed the blast at the old couple. "...still so brash, human? How about we just kill this nice old couple?"
The human's smile faded and he stepped in front of Martha and Jim protectively. "NO. You will not kill them, they have done nothing!" Martha and Jim stood, hugged together, shivering in fear. Sangu looked back at them and motioned his chin toward the side. He was telling them to get out of the way. He didn't want the two of them to get hurt. "Get out of the way, guys. It's my turn to rescue you."
Marsh laughed and absorbed the ki back into the palm of her hand. "You STILL think we won't kill them? You're barely a match for us, and those two? They're just lemmings, waiting to die. Probably die of old age anyway." Marsh cackled. "COME ON, Sangu! You and these two are doomed!"
"Affirmative." Mallo confirmed, his voice still emotionless.
"Look, we can take this outside. But you're here for me, I'm your target! Just...let's go somewhere to fight. Somewhere where no one will get hurt, okay? No need for the innocent to die! If I lose..." he sighed. "...then you could come back for the old couple. Deal?" Deep within, he knew he was capable of besting his foes, or else he would never had made the deal.
Marsh and Mallo looked at the one another, processing this proposition. The two look back at Sangu, Mallo speaking. "Very well then. We will have our battle at the ice lake to the north."
Marsh turned it's head toward the old couple. "We'll return for you two in thirty minutes." And looked back at Sangu, who was now dead serious. "You mean WHEN you lose."
"Sure. I wouldn't be so sure." Sangu retorted confidently.
The two Androids looked at him for a moment, wondering what the human was on about. Of course they couldn't underestimate him but judging from their data, he was no match for both of them together. Mallo looked at Marsh. "Let's go."
"Yeeeeah, let's teach this human a lesson!" The female Android would say as the two took off into the cloudy grey skies.
Sangu looked back at the old couple and mouthed the words "don't worry" before taking off after the mechanical monsters, his power slowly beginning to rise. As he followed them, he thought back to all of his training with Shojiro, training that had made him quite a bit more powerful. The Androids seemed so sure they would win though, so he had to wonder why?
The icy wind cut at his bare arms as he slowly set down on the ice, the ice cracking slightly under his bare feet. He wanted to ask why they'd chosen this place, bit figured maybe they had done so because they sought a drowning death for the human. After all, Cube's number one execution style was drowning.
He cracked his knuckles and looked at the two mechanical warriors as they stood side by side, still trying to sense their ki. He still couldn't sense it though. He would go into this fight blind. "Alright...we're here, rust buckets. So let's get this shindig started!"
Marsh's lips curled into an evil grin. "So eager to die. Mallo, you go first. Show him your strength."
Go first? Really? He was under the impression that the two would attack him head on and outnumber him. He couldn't understand why they would give him a possible upperhand, but he could see the small shards of ice levitating into the air. Mallo was raising his power, he was sure. But he wasn't intimidated. He welcomed the challenge, as always.
As he began to raise his power, the air around him would begin to waver with heat, so much so that he would levitate above the lake in an attempt not to melt the ice in his feet. Marsh's eyes would widen as his power continuing to steadily climb, birds flocking to leave the area. "HAAAAAAaaaaaaAaAAAAAAAAAA!"
The Mechanical Warrior met him in midair, face to face as both reached their zenith. Sangu's face was plastered with a confident smile, but he noticed something about Mallo. Mallo wasn't smiling at all. He didn't seem so confident. Or maybe this was just the robot's way of freaking Sangu out. Sangu tilted his head. "What's wrong?"
"Marsh..." he looked through the corner of his eye at his cohort. The two identified as female and male, Marsh and Mallo, respectively. "...this data is different than what we collected."
"Oh? Yes, well, he does seem a bit more powerful than the fight with Duke." She blinked. "Almost fifteen thousand? Strange. I thought he was closer to your Power Level, Mallo."
His power level? What about her's? Marsh had shown more emotion than Mallo, yet she didn't show any fear toward the human. Sangu just laughed. "Can we PLEASE get this going already? It's about lunch time, and I'm hungry!"
Marsh chuckled. "Very well then. Although they do have food in the afterlife, according to my records. Mallo..." she waved toward the human, who's aura was a bright red. "...scrap him!"
In a burst of amazing speed, Mallo flew forward at Sangu. He drew back a fist and threw a punch at the powerful human who dropped down a bit in midair and fell backwards with a hard foot to the gut. The Android's eyes went wide and he flew backwards, Sangu following with incredible agility, bouncing off the Android'smartphone chest with a kick then drawing back in with a barrage of hard punches to the face.
Mallo finally got his wits about him and blocked a punch, grabbing Sangu's wrist and flinging him into a tree. He fired off a blast of white ki, Sangu throwing his hands up to block the blast and his hands becoming singed by it's heat. He flinched slightly and things went dark as the giant android kicked him in the temple, his blood hitting the thin ice.
He felt his breath leave his lungs as the android pounded his ribs, driving him backwards across the cracking ice, feet leaving skidmarks on it. He would then reinforce his power, and slice the air with his hands, sending red blades of ki speeding toward his adversary. "ONE HUNDRED BLADES!"
Mallo's eyes went wide as the blades hit him head on, so fast and hard that he had no chance of blocking them. Suddenly, Mallo showed his first bit of emotion...an emotion Sangu had felt. Pain. "I...t-this...d-d-does...not...compute..." he stammered, his voice filled with static, oil pouring from his gaping wounds.
Sangu held his open palms above his head, a large ball of ki appearing in each hand as his aura blazed. He suddenly pushed the balls of Ki together in front of his chest, then thrust his hands foreward and sent a massive blast of spiraling red ki at the Android. Unfortunately for Mallo, his design was based off the Androids without absorbtion pads. "FURY GRENADE!"
BOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!
Marsh's mouth dropped wide open as her counterpart's mechanical arm fell to the ground before her. His head landed in her hands, eyes open in a death stare. She looked up at the incredibly powerful human, then smirked. "Incredible. But...now you see, I have collected new data. Annnnd....I'm sure Cube is going to want to hear about this!"
"Hrmf..." he panted, too tired to give chase to the purple Android as she sped off into the clouds. "...coward." Indeed. But at least his human friends would be okay now as he'd given the Androids something to think about. This story ended, but what will happen with Marsh still being alive? What data?
Sangu shook his head and took off to go check on Martha and Jim.
The End.
