Yuken grunted in pain as his body connected with the reinforced steel fence, the child falling unceremoniously to the ground. The crowd of thugs and ruffians cheered loudly as the child got to his knees, Yuken wiping his throbbing nose to find a trail of blood now staining his hand, clear sign of a nosebleed. Looking up, the child found his opponent standing in the center of the ring, the muscular giant lifting both hands in the air as a sign of assured victory, the crowd responding to this action with even louder cheers.
Shaking his head, Yuken looked around at the fighting arena that consisted of a circular, cement pit and a domed fence on top to keep the fighters in and the audience out. There were many underground fighting arenas just like this one all around the city, the major fights happening during the Galactic Summit. While the main tournament drew a crowd of thousands the underground fights were far more entertaining, and profitable, as far as most people were concerned. The fights were a chance for everyone to prove that their race was the most powerful or the most skilled.
While Yuken detested Saiyans to a great degree, orders were orders and Borage was the one giving them tonight. The Saiyan lieutenant had thought it best to enter a Saiyan in to this conflict, and what better way to trick the bookies into making the odds so uneven than to pit a child against a mountain of muscle. At the odds the bookies gave, only a fool would bet on Yuken... But if say Yuken won, that fool would become the richest fool for miles around, regardless of how little he bet.
Yuken was certain he would never see a cent of the money.
Look into the crowd behind him, Yuken picked out his shot-haired superior who stood with his arms folded and a neutral expression on his face. Giving a slight nod, Borage signaled it was time for Yuken to stop playing around. Nodding back, the boy got back on his feet in time for him to see his opponent giving him a one finger gesture while grinning like a mad dog.
Before the oaf could even blink Yuken planted a devastating kick to the side of his head, sending the burly monster across the arena and through the reinforced fence. The crowd was silent for a few moments as the giant twitched and moaned quietly. Abruptly the small area was in an uproar, the crowd cheering loudly in response to the impressive display of power.
Smiling at the praise, Yuken lifted his right hand to the sky, the crowd cheering even louder as a result.
Once everyone had calmed down the boy prepared to leave before the voice of an announcer blared over the speakers, the energetic man yelling, "Just a moment ladies and gentlemen! I just got word that the reigning champ has personally requested a match with tonight's youngest competitor! What does Yuken have to say?"
The boy was silent for a few moments, looking at his superior who merely shrugged in indifference. Making up his mind, the boy turned around, faced the door his opponent was meant to come out of and entered a battle stance. The crowd cheered again at the response, but their cheers were quickly drowned out to the young boy.
A dark presence seemed to emanate from the corridor opposite him, Yuken gulping as a deadly stream of power seemed to flood his mind. Footsteps seemed to be all the half-Saiyan could hear as his opponent grew ever closer, Yuken thinking, 'Great, what have i gotten myself into?'
