Once more, The Merciful lurched from its docking station, and the ponderous vessel's engines roared with the effort of taking it up through the atmosphere.
Below, the staff tending to the space port watched as it rose up from the ground. "Where do you think it is going now?" One of the kabochans asked his colleague.
"Damned if I know." The other dock worker replied, "But I'm glad it isn't here. That ship and its crew always give me the willies."
After the initial assent had been completed, it didn't take long for the rest of the boosters to kick into action and propel the enormous ship out into space. Perhaps, those it left behind hoped, that would be the last they saw of it...
