Letrune stood at the spaceport, and tried to find any way to discreetly leave. She had been fed up of Earth, the constant wars and that she has nothing to hold on to. She lost her home and family. Her only possessions were her clothes and that few zeni she had... But all the tickets cost way more than she got. She disheartenedly walks the streets when she notes a small sign, reading "Honest Hae's Slightly Used Spacepods". Having nothing to lose, she walks in...
"Welcome!" The saleswoman greets her "How it is, friend? Can I help?"
"...I am just looking for some pod..." Letrune starts, and looks over Hae. She is a... Human, she guesses, but the sized chunk of hair, the stola and the gaudy dresssuit covers just enough of the saleswoman that not two customer can give the same description of her at any court.
Hae also gives no care for Letrune, and starts to talk on some of her "prides" - and the four digit pricetag scares Letrune.
"Can I see something... Less extraordinary?"
"Of course! What pricerange you were thinking?"
Letrune tells her, and Hae's smile shakes a bit. This business is the worst so far she ever had... And she got one pod stolen.
"This one I can offer." Hae says, pointing to the rusted hull with the numerous dents and duct-tape fixes. "It doesn't looks much but I guarantee it will get you where you want!"
Letrune climbs in, and sits on the seat. Some springs creak and when she gets off, they spring out from the seat, one ricocheting around and breaking some panel off. Some wires dangle afterwards.
"...I think..."
"Well, sweetie, this is in your pricerange. In fact... Even this I can give you on a sale only.... Even that roll of duct tape there counts as an extra!"
Letrune has to think... this seems like a trick... but this may be her only way to leave behind the heartache. She knows a bit on basic mechanics...
"...I am not sure if you could buy this one. I mean, such a sweet little kitten..."
"I wiah to buy it."
"...Sure wishes to see the most of the universe! Come with me, we will check the papers, all right?"
Two hours and a cramp later, Letrune sits in her very own spacepod. She even got a pillow for free from Hae, but she didn't quite understood why she got to do her paperwork on a truck (which was running, too)... But who cares! Time to leave cor a better place.
She closes the door, and the air exchange system starts up. It has a weird lemony scent, but Letrune cares not. She starts the engine, which is for whatever reason, is pretty much a moped engine mounted on a spaceship drive, powered by solar power - and despite this, it still has a noisy muffler and backfires so loudly that the birds at the block all fly away, and some with weaker hearts think that something just blew up. While everything that should not shakes, Letrune pilots the ship upwards, and reads over the instructions.
In a mere hour, she leaves Earth, and the pod stops rattling. Incredibly, it holds together and works perfectly, and even more incredibly, Letrune feels free for the first time. She tries to set the navigation system but she got no idea where... So she randomly picks a small planet that can hold life and is said to have no warring civilizations (mostly due to nobody even caring of them). As she finishes, the hyperspace system humms up... And she gets pressed into the seat.
The flight goes well, but as Letrune adjusts her position after a few hours, the final loose sprig gives in and launches itself on the walls, hitting a few things then landing on her lap.
Then she leaves hyperspace and enters Namek's atmosphere. Letrune is not too well versed in the universe, but this place does not looks like the small beachside place...
So she lands without grace, bouncing a few dozen times on some backwater area and the pod stops upside down, then rolls into position. Letrune sits a bit there, her claws embedded on the armholders and her fur is looking like as if she would have just got hit by electricity.
