Katsu stared at the information his computer terminals were projecting into his eyes for the umpteenth time that day, blinking several times as he realized he had been trying to read the same line of text for the fourth time in a row. Coffee was definitely needed at this point. Yawning widely, Katsu rubbed his eyes and stood, heading over to a little cabinet he kept stocked with some custom medication. Oh it was all very illegal in most countries to have any of the chemicals in there but Katsu had always looked down upon laws and regulations that favored "safety" over innovation and just chose to... ignore them. So Katsu pulled out a cocktail of his own design that would pep him right up. Some high-grade steroids, a rather potent series of immuno-boosters, some experimental drug meant to flush fatigue poisons, and a brownie. A brownie with about eight thousand calories packed into it as well as enough vitamins and minerals to sustain a human for three days. All washed down with some Dr Pepper. The enlightened man's choice of carbonated beverages!
Drinking down his mixture Katsu thought back on the project that had been taking all of his sleep recently. It was that Resillium Core he had managed to get his hands on recently. It was absolutely fascinating, and absolutely infuriating! The amount of information that Katsu had managed to gleam from that little blue crystalline ball was just the tip of the iceberg. What little he had found out hinted at a wonderful new world of possible technologies utilizing the Resillium as both computer processor and power source, but Katsu had not yet unlocked how to actually use the orb successfully. Every single simulation he ran involving the Resillium failed miserably, often in some sort of violent meltdown, other times in complete refusal to initiate.
Katsu had been running diagnostics on the little orb in order to find out what was going wrong when his exhaustion had hit the peak, but after his cocktail Katsu already felt ready to go! Sipping some more of his Dr Pepper Katsu sat back at his computer terminal, his eyes scanning the information much faster now, but a crease of greater frustration had formed upon his brow. It was just as he had suspected. Sighing, Katsu gulped down the rest of his soda before grabbing another, heading over to another computer terminal, this one containing the schematics for a device Katsu had never seen before at any science convention or Expo, but which he had found in the basement of a certain Scientist's island home not too long ago.
It had only been a minute or so since Katsu had pulled up the schematic when his laboratory's proximity alert went off, his AI System, Aliza, adding detail to the situation, "Master, incoming Robotic Ki Signature, well over standard BBA schematic allowances in both speed and velocity. It's unlikely our visitor means you well, Master. Should we engage?"
Katsu sat straight from peering at his computer, thinking for just a moment. "No. Hail them on the standard frequencies and guide them into the loading Bay, don't open fire unless they ignore you."
"Yes Master."
With a quick last sip of his Dr Pepper Katsu headed towards his loading bay room, preparing to greet his “guest”. The Loading Bay would be a mostly empty place with a great elevator situated in the middle that led up to the surface, nearly a hundred feet straight up. Katsu used it to handle large packages, and the whole place was highly reinforced against both the weather and most forms of weaponry, for lab safety.

[Thread PL: 33,516 | Limiter Earrings Equipped! Active PL: 16,758!] [Two Cycloids have joined Breech in his endeavors! Cycloids PL: 5,000] "...I've finally found you."Doctor Breeches cold eyes narrowed as he stared at the mansion in the distance. He stood on a massive mountain far from his destination, two of his newest creations standing behind him. The hulking machines scanned the area just in case any hikers decided to interfere with Breeches reconnaissance operation. Though the synthetic professor was entirely certain that the man he was looking for lived here, he could never be too careful. Is his research on this "Katsu" was correct, he recently purchased this house with his personal funds. It seemed the fellow had quite the wad of cash in his scientific pocket. "I really hope the boy doesn't try to hide things from me. He's got quite the head on his shoulders, wouldn't you agree?" Breech turned to one of his Cycloid's, his brow raising as he waited for a response. The bulky machine returned Breeches gaze, responding with a simple beeping noise. The Mechanized Doctor chuckled, patting the incredibly tall machine on its arm. "Hah! I must have forgot that I didn't program conversation algorithms for any of you. Perhaps I should go back and fix that..." The Cycloid simply beeped once again, causing Breech to nod in response. "Very well. We'll fix it later... For now, it is time for us to finally end this pointless goose chase by finally finishing the Resillium Core."Breech floated into the air, his Cycloids following suit. They approached with no attempt at subelty. Soon enough, Breech was contacted by what he presumed to be the mansion's A.I. It gave him clearance to land, even giving him directions to the proper landing zone. Doctor Breech slowly descended onto a large landing pad. The Doctor's assumption was that this was used to move valuable yet large materials to an underground location; then again, it could just be used for looks. Suddenly, the giant elevator began to descend slowly. With a quizzical raise of his brow, he addressed his two body-guards. "it's not often we're simply invited inside. This should be interesting, no?"After a long moment, the elevator finally hit the ground floor. The room was incredibly large, and equally empty, save for one occupant waiting at the bottom of the elevator. If Breech had to guess, this man was the one he was looking for. The Good Doctor placed his hands behind his back, a polite smile on his face as he addressed his welcoming party. "Greetings. You are Katsu, I presume? My name is Doctor Breech Aris. I'm sure you know why I'm here: I want the Resillium Core."Breech hopped off the elevator, offering his hand to shake Katsu's. Regardless of the fellow scientists acceptance of this form of formal greeting, the metal scientist would continue. "I humbly request you don't hide the Core from me. I've had a hard time tracking down its location, and I'd dislike being lied to after such a long journey."

The first thing that Katsu noticed about his visitors was the fact that their strongest one was powerful enough to kill Katsu, and that the information his scouter was giving him hinted that they weren't even at their full strength either. Which was interesting, but not nearly so interesting as to who his visitors were. Because Katsu had been performing a lot of research lately, and he knew exactly who Dr Breech was. Oh yes, Expert in both Bio-engineering and Robotics, it didn't surprise Katsu in the slightest to find that Breech had Mechanized himself. “I am indeed Katsu Yuda. Pleased to meet you Dr Breech.”
Katsu would gladly shake Dr Breech's hand as he stepped off the elevator, and when Breech reiterated his purpose for being here Katsu grinned, “Absolutely. I'll take you right to it.” It would be obvious that Katsu would be a little excited to have such an experienced scientist come to call, and he set off down one corridor in almost the same breadth. Dr Breech would soon realize something about Katsu's lab as they headed down one corridor only to change over to another, then another and another. Katsu's lab was like a maze, a warren of corridors leading to closed off rooms and and sub-labs, every so often Breeches Scouter would go off, detecting some creature or another enclosed in a reinforced tank. The rooms containing the tanks with creatures in them were always the cleanest as well, the ones where everything was in place and orderly, any dust or filth swept clean. Katsu took constant care of his subjects, pointing him out as a man dedicated to his research as well as the safety of his experiments.
Looking back for a moment Katsu would take in Breech's image as he continued to lead the android deeper into his lab, closer to the heart. “I'm glad you showed up, Dr Breech. This Resillium material has driven me to the end of my rope trying to figure out how to utilize it. I don't have enough skill to deal with something like this yet, but I can't help myself when something as interesting as this lands in my lap, you know?
“Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm confident in my ability when it comes to Bio-Engineering. I'm pretty sure I could design a clone body for you just from looking at you, but this stuff is not within my sphere of knowledge. What's worse is that I've had no one to collaborate on this thing with either. All the original team members that have been working on this before all dropped like flies recently. Even Dr Ride, a former colleague of mine, died from the Saiyan Invasion, and somebody decided to make a glass parking lot of her house so I couldn't even get a clue from her lab.”
Once again Katsu would look at Dr Breech, looking into his artificial eyes, a knowing glint accompanied by a small grin on Katsu's lips. Katsu knew who was likely the culprit for both incidents, and even then posture didn't change, his steps didn't quicken, his heartbeat remained at resting rate. Despite knowing that Dr Breech had killed fellow scientists and wrecked a woman's house, he was unperturbed.
Finally reaching a certain room, the same one that Katsu had been in before Dr Breech had made his presence known, Katsu strode in and took up his Dr Pepper, drinking a gulpful before sitting it down and beginning to type out some commands on a console. The room here was messier than most, with files and papers strewn about, a variety of sensory equipment lined against all four walls, monitors everywhere. Another reinforced glass chamber in the middle of the room was activated by Katsu's typing, and a solid metal bar inside the glass chamber split in two, revealing Dr Breech's prize. The Resillium, the most important component of a Resillium Core, laid out on a little platform just ready to be plucked.
“Ah, such an interesting material, it's too bad I haven't been able to refine it yet. I doubt it could be used in its current state at all...” Katsu would quip, looking over at Dr Breech, seeing what reaction those two little sentences would produce from him...

The Doctor smiled as Katsu instantly agreed to show him the Resillium. It was surprising to see how willing he was. Perhaps he had hit a wall in researching its uses, or maybe this was simply a trap? Whatever the reason, Breech would certainly not be one to complain. The excited Katsu practically bounded towards one of the corridors leading out of the loading bay, leaving Breech alone with his Cycloids. The Mechanical Man turned to his constructs, giving them each a nod as he slowly followed the spry young Scientist.
Breech and his two robotic wards walked down the many, maze-like corridors, the Doctors face sporting an almost lifeless expression. Breeches internal scanner began recording each movement they made down the halls, detailing the movements into map form. If Katsu decided to try and lose Breech in the maze, he most likely wouldn't have much trouble finding his way back out. During their journey, Breeches internal scouter beeped sporadically. It gave off a multitude of Power Levels, but not many of them came anywhere close to Breeches full power. Still though, he had to commend Katsu for his impressive work; each creature was quite the interesting specimen, especially some of the stronger ones.
"I see... My thanks for keeping it safe, Katsu. If it weren't for you, I think it might have taken much longer to find any usable Resillium."
Breech gave no response to his young tour-guide's sly smirk. If he were fully honest, he didn't care much for what Katsu thought of him. All he cared about at the moment was the Resillium.
Soon enough, they arrived in a large, and surprisingly messy lab. This was clearly the heart of the operation. Katsu moved over to a computer, inputting a set of commands to reveal what Breech had been searching for all this time: The Resillium. Breech stepped closer to the case as the Resillium twinkled like a star. He stared longingly at his treasure, whispering to himself as he placed his hand on the glass. "...After all this time..."
He listened half-heartedly to Katsu as the Resillium shone brightly. Apparently the gem would be unusable at the current moment; something Breech expected from the beginning. He glanced at Katsu, giving the young scientist an emotionless response. "I'd expect nothing less. Resillium is a fickle thing after all; it needs to be refined at incredibly high gravity levels to be able to find proper use in anything worthwhile..." He narrowed his eyes, giving the chunk of Resillium a closer look before he continued. "I estimate this particular chunk would require at least thirty times Earths gravity before we can actually tamper with it."
Breech turned to Katsu.
"I have a gravity manipulation chamber in my laboratory. We won't be able to manipulate the Resillium from the outside, so we're simply going to have to acclimate ourselves to the gravitational shift before we actually start work."

Katsu was pleasantly surprised to find that Dr Breech had already known of the problem plaguing him. Well that's what you get when you work with those on the Genius level! It was all going to be a much simpler to get this project off the ground with someone like Dr Breech at the front of it. Well then, since he knew of the problem Katsu could move straight to what he had managed to find in order to better solve the problem.
“Ah, good. This part will go much faster then.” Katsu quipped quickly as he bent over his console, pulling up some new files and having his computer beam them over to Dr Breech's infolink. As Dr Breech would look over the data it would appear to be something similar to what Dr Breech had worked on once before. “The person I got the Resillium from, Doctor Sodia Chloe Ride, who was my former colleague and the daughter of the Dr. Ride that worked on your team before, had apparently been studying it in her spare time as a sort of hobby rather than a serious endeavor. She had a lot of time to work however and came up with a few ideas to improve the refining process that your team originally did on this Resillium here.
“I collated all the data and applied it, and it looks promising. If you build the schematics I'm sending to you now and utilize the device within your gravity chamber you'll have a much better result than before. My estimates are roughly a 27% purer final product with 14% less waste product and a far more stable isotope, the half-life increasing from decades to millennia. You'd use up the material far faster than it decays, meaning you'll never have to refine this particular chunk ever again.” Continuing to tap away at his console Katsu was apparently downloading the information that he had been giving to Breech through infolink into a data spike, to better provide for Breech's own computer systems back in his lab. Katsu was a great believer in having backups and extra physical copies of data and information, and in fact had every bit of data and info in his laboratory backed up to a secure secondary facility just in case.
As Katsu spoke a single hovering table would float into the room, the peculiar hum of a basic anti-gravity propulsion system easily heard, empty for the most part except for a single security suitcase, much like the one that Katsu had originally found the Resillium in. It was full of supportive foam and smelled like the stuff had been very recently molded, a place for the Resillium and the data spike carved into the stuff. With a single telekinetic snatch, Katsu took the Resillium orb from its pedestal and floated it over to fit snugly into the suitcase, soon after placing the prepared data spike in as well before closing up the suitcase. The electronic locking system randomized its password before flashing it exactly three times, showing both Katsu and Breech the code before going dormant.
Picking up the suitcase from the table Katsu walked over to Dr Breech and offered it to him with aplomb, “Here we are. The suitcase is for protection. My lab is shielded. Your lab is probably shielded. The trip between isn't. No need to get anyone curious as to why a rock is giving off a Ki signature. Enjoy.”

[OOC: Hey, any chance you could give a lead in for Katsu to explain WHY he's being so helpful? To help Breech and Katsu get to know each other a little better, and perhaps give Breech a reason to invite Katsu to SCAR? Many thanks Bingaling!]

Breech stared in confusion as he was handed the briefcase full of Resillium. He couldn't truly believe this was happening. There was no catch, no bump in the plan, and certainly no do-goosed hiding in the corner waiting to strike just as Breech was about grasp victory for the first time. It seemed even the doctors Cycloids were confused.
He grabbed the briefcase hesitantly, looking around quickly before exhaling in relief. He let out a chuckle; something he didn't often do.
"Well, this was... So very simple. This doesn't feel quite right if I'm being honest. Usually there's something in my way to thwart me just as I finally succeed in my endeavors." He gives Katsu a once-over before continuing. "Why are you so helpful, anyways? My reputation alone can't possibly be the driving force for your assistance."

Katsu seemed to stop for a moment when Breech posed his latest question, putting his hand to his chin and adopting a thinking pose for a few moments, looking more or less as if considering whether he should tell Breech the true answer. In the end Katsu gave a shrug and a grin before answering Breech's question, “You're... the best person for the job. I've done the research. Everyone else on the entire. planet. Earth. who could possibly conduct the research and production of any technologies arising from Resillium... they're either dead or unwilling to touch the stuff. I've met with the few scientists who could do anything with Resillium, I've tried to get them interested, but either they ended up being less capable than even myself, or else had no interest. Some of course seemed frightened because of how many of the original team were dying off lately, but in general they mostly seemed to view it as some taboo.”
Katsu looked and sounded genuinely disgusted at this notion, at the idea of a research project being considered taboo. And he scowled for a moment before he calmed his face and started to leave the room, heading back down the hallway they had originally come from. He would speak over his shoulder again, ”Everything evolves, Dr. Breech. Everything must evolve, or die. Your Android body tells me that you believe in that premise as well. You can take this project much farther than anyone else... you can evolve the most with it as well, given your current situation. I freely give this project to you for those reasons. My only hope is that you share your discoveries in the future, because I personally love learning just about everything.”
By that time they would have made it back to the Elevator room, and Katsu would turn to Dr Breech as he stood next to the cargo elevator, “Honestly it'll be a relief to get back to my normal work. With Bio-research I at least know what to do to move forward. I've not enough skill yet to make something of the Resillium. So! Again, enjoy.”

Breech listened intently as Katsu explained his reasoning. It was quite interesting to hear nobody wanted to take this task on, but most of his colleagues from the past were a bit cowardly when it came to more dangerous work, so it didn't seem out of ordinary in Breeches mind. What did interest him, however, was Katsu's seeming approval of evolution. Someone like this young fellow could be an invaluable asset to the SCAR team, should he be okay with their unorthodox methods.
"I see... I thank you deeply for your honesty, Katsugan." With the Resillium briefcase still in-hand, Breech stepped closer to the cargo elevator as he spoke again. "You... You're different from the others in your field. You aren't afraid to take risks in the pursuit of knowledge. You're just the type of person I need in my organization... Perhaps we'll meet again sooner than you would expect."
The Mechanical Doctor fiddled with his internal machinery for a moment, before a sudden -DING!- could be heard coming from Breeches hat. A few moments later, a small data disk slid out of a slot in the cylindrical headwear. The disk sat half-exposed for a moment, before Breech plucked it out of his hat and offered it to Katsu.
"My internal scanner has a built-in communicator. If you're interested in making the world a better place, don't hesitate to... Give me a call."
With an expressionless face, Breech stepped into the elevator, followed closely by his Cycloids. The Doctor gave a salute to the young Bio-Researcher.
"Until we meet again."
