Edo unwrapped his tail from his waist, letting it flow with the cold stinging air. He then waved it around, straightening it, coiling it, wrapping it around branches and stones, and even slamming it against tree's to see if he could do any damage. Seeing the large evergreen on the ground filled the teen wit ha small sense of delight, giving him hope that this may not in fact be a waste of time. He was about to give himself the workout of his life, though only to one limb in particular. The brown furred monkey tail, something he was afraid he would never be able to outgrow. Every saiyan was born with this weakness, as a half human hybrid, Edo was certainly no exception. On vegeta, it was implied that his human genes may prohibit him from ever training his tail, ridding himself of the paralyzing pain that came with just one grab to the brown furred extremity. However, being on earth prompted him to think otherwise. Mostly from his previous fight with Dura. He remembered, through sheer anger and frustration, he was able to not only turn himself around, but land a blow directly to the old man's face, and it certainly was hefty. If he could do that much, granted with the feeling of nails dragging through his body with each movement, then he could certainly get to a point where his tail could simply be another appendage to fight with, and if someone grabbed it, well it would be their funeral rather than his own.
The half breed teen stared down at the tail, swaying in the wind. "Only one thing to do now." he thought aloud, and grabbed his tail with more than enough force to bring him to his knees. His entire body was screaming for him to let go, each receptor of pain seeming to open up to the world, causing Edo to take a sharp breath, gritting his teeth. With every once of energy he could muster, he lifted himself up to his feet. At one point he panicked, thinking he had broken his own legs. That said it did not take him to long to remember that his mind and body both agreed that movement was for all intents and purposes impossible. Despite that, the teen was going to prove himself wrong. Not only did he manage to stand up straight, but he even took a single step. His right foot felt like he had stepped into an active volcano, flames engulfing his entire leg with it. It was like taking his first steps all over again, only babies only feel a bit of pain falling on their butts, whereas Edoma was considering biting off his toes to be a less painful way to spend his time. He then had an odd vision in his head, his imagination somehow still active. It was of his father teaching him to walk, only with his little infant tail caught firmly between his father's hands. The image caused him to let out a pained laugh. This is nothing, he'd felt worse pain than this. Getting blasted point blank in the face, that was painful. Trying to open his mangled eyes almost immediately after, that was excruciating. The feeling of knives, repeatedly stabbing into them, as for that split second he let dirt, dust, and even the breeze intrude his bloodied eyes in that same instance, was indescribable. This, compared to all of that, was a bee sting to your average human. He then made a quiet shriek of pain through his tightly clamped teeth, as he took another step. Okay, maybe a bee sting to the average human child, who may have been allergic. Thinking about it though, his eyes barely hurt, which was especially odd since even after eating the senzu bean, his olive green orbs were very sensitive, irritating him if he so much as got a little angry. Stranger still, thinking about the event in question would usually force him to recall the feeling in almost full detail, the phantom pain with it. Not this time though. this time they felt surprisingly dull, almost soothed. This of course did not apply to the rest of his body, as the third step did such a fine job of reminding the young warrior. After what felt like an eternity passed, he let go of his tail, falling face first onto the ground. despite it being cold and hard, small rocks and twigs littering the area, he felt as if he could comfortably pass out then and there, his body relaxing.
However, while it may have felt like a year had pass, those three steps probably only took a minute or so, if that much at all. He pushed himself back up to his feet, brushing the dry dirt from his shirt. In an attempt to reinvigorate himself, he let his ki fluctuate wildly for a brief moment, powering himself up. This resulted In a small shock wave pushing any nearby branches away from the spot, sending any of the smaller bits of nature to be blown away. while it didn't entirely work physically, mentally he felt pumped up once again, his tail waiting patiently in his left hand. He took a deep breath, bracing himself for the next wave of pain. That however didn't do jack, the long thick needles all returning to his body, maybe even worse than before. Not only that, but this time he only made it two steps before feeling like he had to stop once again. That wasn't good enough though, if he could do three steps the first time, he could sure as hell do it again, and so with enough force to move an entire planet, or so it felt like, Edo managed to bring his leg forwards, marking step number three. Again he fell to the ground relieved. He could not do that again, at least not without a small break. That actually gave Edo an idea. While waiting for himself to come down from the immobilizing pain to fully subside, he would work the tail out, making lift things, even himself as sort of a tail push up, hit it against some nearby rocks. After that, he would try for a third time, his tail in both hands, and would not let go until either he collapsed, or made it three steps. Once his third mile long set of three steps was finished, he decided to take an actual break, taking time to take some deep breaths, sit down, and maybe drink some water.
He repeated this process as many times his teenage body would allow. Each time he would stay to his strict routine. Three steps with his tail in one of each of his hands, then a work out break, followed by a third set of three steps, this time with his tail in both hands, then a very much needed break. Between each step, he would allow his ki to spaz out a bit, hoping his invigoration tactic would not become less effective as time went on. Still, there was a point where Edoma knew he had hit his limit. This was of course when he was left face down in the dirt, breathing heavily, his arms and legs now useless sacks of jello, and his poor abused tail feeling as if it weighed ten times his own weight. To be honest, the teen wasn't entirely sure if this was actually helping, though it didn't feel like it was entirely hindering him either. If anything, the hybrid gave himself a workout he would not soon forget. When he finally mustered up the strength to do so, he would trudge his way back to Valley Village, and pass out for an eternity. After a second thought however, he realized he couldn't do that. This one time was certainly not enough to get him over the weakness that the saiyans before him had to face as well. For now though, as he managed to flip himself onto his back, he decided that it would be best to just stare into the darkening sky, the sun, though still barely visible through the clouds, running away past the horizon , as his consciousness soon followed suit, a much welcome sleep welcoming itself into his brain.
