(I address an Arcosian in this thread and I don't know if anyone used the name already, so I apologize if it's already used. It's an NPC with no future, so disregard or fill in the blank with a cold related name.)
This world is corrupted. The once powerful Saiyans had fallen into a slump and there was only one of them that had the transcendence to wake them up.
Asper was the only one capable. In the end, he was the only Saiyan of his kind. He was sitting in his room shuffling through books. He needed a destination.
While he was the only person that could correct their current path to their ultimate destruction, he was far too underhanded to be capable. While he was frozen in that cursed healing pod, he lost most of his strength. He wasn't ready to liberate the Saiyans.
Not yet.
A name came up. A planet called Earth. Plenty of strong residents, but a weaker species overall. While he didn't have the means here on Planet Vegeta, he knew this was an opportunity to procure something much more in terms of strength.
He struggled inwardly. Was this really the best course of action? Perhaps not, but ultimately he had no real choice. The Saiyans were far too powerful for his current state. He grabbed a couple of things including what little money he had and the keys to his spaceship.
He would leave as soon as possible. He stopped and slipped the book about earth under his arm. They said he could do with them as he pleased, so he would be taking it with him.
As he stepped out into the corridor, he was greeted by the Arcosian that had helped him out on his first day out of the pod. He recalled a lot of, dare he say, fond memories of this man in particular.
"Ah, Frigid. How nice it is to see you. I would like my ship prepared. If you're not busy, would you help me set it up?"
"I suppose I'm not too terribly busy. I could help." The Arcosian smiles politely. It seemed like he didn't get asked requests far too often. More than likely he was more of a servant to whoever owned the manor he was currently residing in. He patted the man on the back and they prepared his ship.
---
The preparation alone took a half an hour to complete. Most of it was making sure the ship could last for the one trip. It had been in need of a handful of repairs he had overlooked the first time around. It seemed as though he had a stroke of luck asking the Arcosian man in particular if he had the time to help. He had learned a great deal just through subtle interactions.
Once he was sure the ship wasn't about to die leaving orbit, he double checked to see if he had what he wanted. He hesitated. "Frigid, you don't happen to have any good reading material. I have a feeling this is still going to be a lengthy trip and I wish to be prepared."
The Arcosian let out a smile. "Of course. My only real hobby is reading." He held up a finger as a gesture to wait. Turning, Frigid left. Asper debated leaving for a moment, but he knew he would need the books to keep him occupied. He felt a strange lump in his throat. He felt saddened, but ultimately found the emotion distasteful and buried it away again.
When the Arcosian returned, they exchanged a final pardon and Asper was on his way. He settled himself in. The books Frigid gave him were more than enough to keep him busy for a couple months. Surprising, considering he slaved himself away. Maybe the others treated him nicer than he thought. Maybe it was just chance that they connected on a higher level than just a servant and his master.
No. He was looking too far into it. He had to dismiss these thoughts. He set up a destination before stepping away from the console. It didn't have a proper seat in front of the controls, but he had managed a comfortable little area in the corner. It would be more than enough to last the entire trip.
He pulled out one of the books from the Arcosian's selection and read the title out loud. "The Brothers of Darkness by Pellarne Assi." He grunted. He hoped it was more interesting than the title made it out to be, or this trip would take far too long.
This world was corrupt, and he was the only one willing to change that...
(I would like Power Level for this, despite the lack of combat. Consider this his body regaining some of its strength.)
