The Harbinger of the Eclipse stirred from within his pod.
Pah'mazhan, the Bio-android. These were the first thoughts that the being in the tube postulated. His brain was slowly becoming his again. Yes... Pah'mazhan. That was my name. Eyes fluttering open, his sight very slowly reacquainted itself with the surroundings from which it found itself. After his vision cleared, the bio android was able to make out rudimentary shapes within his field of vision. He felt... sluggish. Attempting to move his arms, he was met with extreme resistance, and turned his head in the liquid he found himself in to see his appendages hooked in to various apparatuses within the pod he called home. Memories began to flood Pah'mazhan's head, rushing in with little mental fortitude present to stop it. He could remember his own training within the gravity chamber of the Golden Fox... Meeting with Queen Zuccetta of planet Vegeta... Agreeing to go to war against the Arcosians with his beloved friend, Kouda... and the rest was black. Struggling, the bio android flinched against the tubes that were attached to him. Far in the distance, he was able to hear high-pitched whines and screams of concern.
Becoming claustrophobic, Pah'mazhan flexed his right arm, and again felt resistance. Using what seemed like all of his might, he pulled his right arm hard, and was able to snap a few of the tubes that were attached to it. Grinning, he was now free to rip the tubes attached to his left arm off. Freeing up his own movement a little, he placed a hand on the glass pod that encased him and fired a beam of energy through it, shattering it with a loud crash. Liquid splashed around him, draining through a grate in the middle of the room. With his vision returning quickly, the bio android was able to see pods just like his lined along the walls, and a center console in the center of the room. Ee's and Litts were running toward Pah'mazhan, with expressions of joy on their face. Clipboards and various medical doodads in their hands, they seemed eager to see how he was doing.
A senior Litt was in the middle of crowd, and the rest filtered around this individual, who walked in front of the bio android and placed a rheumy claw on his shoulder. "Finally. It's so good to see you back with us, Pah'mazhan." The Litts... The Ee's. I'm supposed to be... their savior? Pah'mazhan was troubled at first, but was quickly reassured. His soul swelled at the idea of being their savior. The old Litt must have seen the expression on the bio android's face, as he let out a hearty laugh. "Don't be so concerned. You've been away from us for a while, my friend. But worry not, we've kept you in good health." Turning his head back to the pod that he found himself in mere moments before, he saw that it was a smouldering heap. As he watched, he saw a few Ee's, who he did not recognize, running over with various tools in an attempt to stop the liquid from draining as fast.
Smiling, Pah'mazhan placed a gloved hand on his own heart. "I appreciate the warm welcome, Sedder. And I apologize for the rash display. I don't know what came over me..." Taking a minute and cracking his neck, Pah'mazhan looked around and noticed something very off about this setup. Frowning his browns (lol,) Pah'mazhan began sensing for his old friend, Doctor Kouda. Closing his own eyes gently, Pah'mazhan began searching for his mentor and creator. He felt his own senses extend into the unknown, and he felt his ki power begin to emanate off of his body and shoot in all directions, glowing purple tendrils, seeking out his companion. After what seemed to be an eternity, he opened his eyes and looked at Sedder.
"So, tell me where we are."
Nodding, the Litt motioned for Pah'mazhan to follow him. The two began to walk out of the room while the rest of the crew continued fixing the mess that the bio android caused. As they walked down a short hallway, the Litt spoke. "As you may remember, Doctor Kouda sent you to fetch the rest of the Litt's and Ee's on planet Arcose to help transport us to safety on our homeworld of Litt." Nodding, Pah'mazhan motioned for Sedder to continue. They arrived at the end of the hallway, where there was a closed door, locked. Pushing a few buttons, the Litt continued. "Kouda went on to fight in the War of Arcose, while you successfully shepherded us. However, we decided to send you back to Earth to search for Kouda, in order to bring him home. We wish to honor him as a hero." At last the door slid horizontally, revealing a harsh light on the other side. Covering his eyes, Pah'mazhan's vision quickly began re-accustomed to the brighter glare of a familiar sun.
"You're on Earth again, Pah'mazhan. And your goal is to find Kouda. Our own crew is small, and we don't have many supplies left. Find either Kouda or his ship, the Golden Fox, and contact us on your comlink when you find anything."
The bio android shook the Litt's clawed hand and grinned. "I'll find him for you. I won't be long." Nodding toward the head scientist, Pah'mazhan began pooling his ki into his feet, and slowly lifted off the ground and high into the air above. The wind was racing fast here, and he could tell that he landed in the Fortuneteller's Desert, a familiar location to him. This was where the Golden Fox was located before, and where the secret meetings of the members of the Red Eclipse transpired. Feeling his invisible tendrils of ki shoot forward again, he paused for a brief moment. Down on the ground, Sedder was looking upward with pride, happy to be able to help the hero of his people. Whether or not Pah'mazhan knew it, he was a legend to the Litt and Ee's, a symbol of freedom from oppression.
Turning his head suddenly, Pah'mazhan caught it. He could feel Kouda! Waving for a final time to the Litt scientist on the surface, and shot east, toward the Bamboo Forest. As he sped toward this unknown location, his mind wandered, as it often does. Even though he was completely submerged in a liquid used to aid in his meditation, his emergence from his slumber had not been smooth. Why had he been asleep for so long? Was it a biological mistake on his part, or his creator's? These thoughts were dangerous, the bio android decided, and best to shut them away from his mind. Turning his attention east, he could see the ancient dunes below him slowly begin to fade into grasslands and prairies. If his memory served, he was traveling above the cities now. Sure enough, he eventually began seeing buildings under him. On top of that, the bio android was able to sense the power levels of many other beings, many of which were weaker than him, but a few that were not.
One of them in particular, he could sense. It was a very familiar power signature... One that he could sense was in fairly close proximity to him. Looking into the distance, he could see a long spire, one that he's never experienced before. Catching chills, he was finally able to pinpoint whose power it was. Bing Gan... The human that sided with Komoto the majin instead of the side of reason. That human had insurmountable power... One that even made himself shiver with fear. And it wasn't looking very favorable for the bio android, if his own ability to sense power was to be trusted. Turning his attention again to the East, he sped double time to the Bamboo Forest, where he was able to sense the Ki of his old creator, Kouda. As he continued, he wondered if Bing was able to sense him...
After a short while, he finally saw large trees begin overtaking the small fields underneath him. The sun was beginning to set, and twilight began to overtake the world. He could feel a chill brewing in the air, and he knew that flying so high would be detrimental later at night when the cold began to worsen. Flying lower to the ground, he could feel his own body warming against the draining heat of the world. Pah'mazhan would need to find Kouda or the Golden Fox soon, or else he would need to find shelter for the night. If his own knowledge of Earth's cycles were to be trusted, this season was renowned to be especially cold. This only made him more afraid for Kouda, for his reptilian anatomy wouldn't allow himself to live comfortably in the ice. Frowning, Pah'mazhan began flying faster.
Finally, in the corner of his eye, the bio android was able to see a golden glint against the dying rays of the sun. Recognizing the familiar metal immediately, Pah'mazhan's body began to glow with internal heat, fighting the external chill that swept over the world at an increasing pace. He knew that it was the Golden Fox. Racing toward the ship, he finally touched down on unfamiliar territory, and he knew that he would need to be careful. Judging by how the ship looked, no one has used it in a fair while. Vines crept over the entire hull of the ship, and fallen rocks littered the immediate surrounding of the area, almost as if the Golden Fox had crashed. Even though the ship seemed like no damage had been done, Pah'mazhan loathed to think of the damage that had been dealt in the interior. Looking around, he finally was able to find the entrance to the ship. Curiously enough, the center console on the door responded to his touch ID, and opened with a silent hiss. Confused, the bio android entered the ship.
The ship's metallic floor felt familiar to Pah'mazhan, and he could feel emotions welling up within his chest. He felt more lonely than ever, even though Kouda's power signature was near... And Meril's. He could feel them both close...
Walking into the communications and war room, he was able to see some of the last communications that were sent out, hoping to shed some light on some of the recent events. Poring over the contents of some of the latest messages, he was able to glean that Xylo, the Namekian from the now dead planet of Namek, attempted to establish contact with his children, and they agreed to rendezvous on planet Vegeta... Well that's one mystery solved. Continuing forward, he found his own room next, and nostalgia hit like a ton of bricks. The sleeping pod had slightly more dust on it than the comfortable bed that he personally requested for after growing tired of the monotonous rest the pod granted him.
On the table beside the bed was his plasma sword, something he had missed dearly. Walking toward the table and picking it up, it was almost as if he was re-attuning himself to the weapon. With a flick of his wrist, the bio android activated the blade, its energy lighting up with a harsh hum. Satisfied that the tool still worked, Pah'mazhan deactivated it and placed it on his back, where it magnetically clicked back into place, after all this time. Despite everything, Pah'mazhan felt at home here, in the Golden Fox. Walking down the hallway he has traversed too many times to count, the bio android found himself in front of the gravity chamber, its impressive metallic doors sealed shut, even after everything.
Placing a hand on the pad attached to the wall, the door opened up with a familiar beep. Almost mechanically walking up to the center console, Pah'mazhan began flitting through the various settings on the gravity chamber controls. He began terraforming the entire room to make it seem huge. Large spires began to grow, seemingly up from nowhere. Holograms buzzed to life, and took shape, taking the forms of civilians logged in the Red Eclipse's databanks. The gravity setting, a lowly x30, was the last to activate. Grunting under the increased setting, Pah'mazhan began walking on the materialized street, welcoming the anonymity. For the first time, seemingly, Pah'mazhan was alone. The police sirens blared in the distance, people looked up at him just long enough to look away, and he felt like he was just another passerby in this imaginary city.
Finally, the bio android was able to place the feeling that was permeating his body ever since he awoke. Melancholy. Doctor Kouda created him to fulfill a purpose: to save the Litts and Ee's from the Arcosians, and to lead them to safety. He succeeded. What, now, was his purpose? As he walked along the lonely road that stretched before him, he was unable to find a satisfactory answer. The lizardfolk were overjoyed at his help, and he himself was hailed as a hero, but it was empty to him. Pah'mazhan watched with despair as the statue they built to him was finally put on display. They applauded, but all he could do was grimace. He felt too much like that statue, absolutely devoid of purpose. After a statue is finished, the exciting part is over. What was he to do now?
The large buildings that enveloped him gave him a sense of ease. The endless attention on planet Litt was too much for him to bear. He needed to calm down, and think about everything. What Pah'mazhan didn't know, however, was that he left the door to the ship and the gravity chamber open.
