[Thread PL: 7500]
[Chronologically after the Solo titled "Time Again for Science"]
The laboratory that Katsu owned and maintained was something out of a mad scientists fondest dreams. A veritable maze of corridors and rooms in an underground complex, filled with glass capsules full of dark green liquid and a variety of organic... things. Thick metallic tubing and wires littered the floors, and only the neon glow of the lighting fixtures kept the place from looking like something out of a Science Fiction Horror Movie. The whole place was in the shape of a Fractal Octogon, folding in and around itself into a jumble only Katsu and his creations could navigate with any sort of ease. The main room, the one that connected the rest of the Lab with the outside world, was also the biggest octogan in the fractal, a full eighth of a mile to a side, and more than five-hundred meters straight down from the entrance in Katsu's home.
Katsu himself was working in this particular room, mainly because it housed most of his more mechanical projects. There were none of the various Womb-pods that nurtured Katsu's organic projects deeper within the facility in this room, only a great selection of spare parts and a single giant reactor situated on the south side of the room. This was also the room that housed the resident Master AI of the facility Aliza, or the "Autonomous Life Support, Inculcation, and Zeteticism AI". She was directly connected to the Reactor itself to ensure that she had full control over the facility, her advanced programming giving her something near to free-will. Katsu found it amusing whenever she decided to lock him out of one system or another because he was doing something "reckless" or "endangering the children". The latter of which was her primary programming concern, and had gotten Katsu thrown out of his lab completely while she protected his projects from his own over rampant curiosity.
As far as efficiency? Aliza gave Katsu a right headache, but her programming had saved more than one project from being destroyed, so Katsu was more than happy to let her continue to have free rein of the facility.
The current project that Katsu was working on wasn't of an organic nature, but a mechanical one. Katsu had managed to get his hands on a piece of technology which his research had named part of a "Resillium Core", and lately he had been trying to figure out everything he could about this little crystal blue sphere that emanated Ki. It was fascinating, but Katsu had had little success in getting much of anywhere with the device so far. It was nearing hot cocoa break time when Aliza's monitor gave off a Ping, her cool feminine voice filling the room. "Master. Sensors are picking up a registered Ki signature. Project 419734: Codenamed D.E.L.V.S. He is approaching the Facility from above. I'm letting him in now."
Katsu was about to order to let him in but had to laugh at himself as she took the initiative. Ah, Katsu surely enjoyed the antics his creations could get up to. He looked forward to Aliza becoming truly free-willed every day, but she had never taken that same step that Delvs had taken. Katsu wondered why often enough. Was her programming too "complete" or was it something else?
Regardless Katsu stood with a smile as the elevator door opened, presumably to show Delvs in all his Organo-Mechanic glory, "Ah, Welcome back Delvs! Judging by how fast Aliza got you down here she's missed you a fair amount. Come in, come in! I've missed you as well. What's it been, two years since you decided to see what's out there?" Katsu placed his hands in his pockets, while Aliza quickly welcomed Delvs as well.
"Welcome home, sweetie. Did you have a nice trip outside?"

BORN OF FLESH AND METAL 8,000 pl - 638 Words - @katsu - Father my Father Home, that was the only thing on his mind as he blew through the sky at astounding speeds. Two years away from home and still the location of Katsu's hidden base under Mount Paozu was fresh inside of Delvs mind. He wasn't entirely sure if it was because his memory was that good; or because of some type of hidden programming within him. Knowing the type of man that his creator was it was probably the latter. In the two years Delvs had spent away from home, he had both seen and done so much. Yet even with all the things that he had done; the thirst inside of him refused to fade. Not that he truly remember any of the actions he had taken; it was all just a blurry haze inside of his mind. He had learned that's what fighting did to him; made him feel empowered but took away the self-control he had over his actions.
It was that very lost of self control that had made him return home. Not because he missed his father; not because he wanted to be embraced by his mother. He needed help. The kind of help only his creators could prove for him. So as he landed on the elevator pad hidden deep within the mountains; he began to grow impatient. Even as it moved downward he eagerly awaited from the moment those doors opened and he could explain why he had returned. It wasn't like he didn't want to see his father or his mother; but what was happening to him was truly the more important matter. Then why, why was it when those doors opened and he was greeted with Katsu's face did he smile and bow? "Two years is a long time to be apart father."
He stood upright after speaking and took his first steps back into the lap he had left years ago. Despite having only spent a few weeks inside of the laboratory he knew the monster of a labyrinth well. The main room for example is where Katus housed a large section of his mechanical projects; and was the room his mother had given him his arms. Arms that he himself had failed to grow because of his own impatience to leave his Birthing Tube. Not having organic arms was one of the many flaws created when Delvs left his Birthing Tube early, but it was the only one he was readily aware of.
He tilted his head upward once his mother's voice spoke to him; and a warmth passed over as he flashed a smile. Aliza had always been there for him in his time of need, and if his father couldn't help him with his issue then surely she would be able to. After all that had been what she had promised when he was released from the womb. "Yes mother I did. The outside world is....different from what it was like inside of the lab." so very different, "I wish you were able to truly see it for yourself." words could only do the beauty of the world above so much justice.
He took a couple more steps further into the laboratory, the doors to the elevator closing behind him. He made his way towards the large reactor housed within the center of the room. Even from a distance he could feel the warm radiance that the reactor gave off. He reached out an arm, placing a mechanical hand onto it. He could actual feel the heat from it passing into the palm of his hand; but it didn't burn him. It couldn't burn him. He had no flesh for which it to burn on his hands, but it still felt as though it was happening. He turned his attention towards his father; "I think there's something wrong with me father..."

Katsu tilted his head to the side slightly. Delvs thought there was something wrong with him? Katsu thought about that for a single moment before he couldn't contain himself, and burst out into an almost maniacal laughter, his voice echoing through the room. Katsu tilted his head back, hand on forehead as he continued to laugh as what Delvs had said was the absolute most hilarious thing on the planet. It took perhaps 20 seconds for him to calm down enough to contain his laughter, wiping a few tears from his eyes as he straightened himself to look at Delvs once more, ”Ah, sorry, sorry! I couldn't help myself... 'something wrong with me', Hah! That's a good one.
“There's plenty 'wrong with you', Delvs. You're not even close to being complete. Neither your body or mind are anything close to what I had intended for them to be. You disobeyed your own creator in order to fulfill an agenda you can barely conceptualize and can't truly understand. Not having arms is the absolute least of your problems, Delvs!” Katsu raised his hands to shoulder height with palms up fingers pointed out in a motion of helpless amusement for a moment, before pointing with his left hand at Delvs's chest, a grin on his face as he spoke, “You. Are. Incomplete.”
Katsu turned away from Delvs, beginning to walk towards one of the doors that led towards deeper into the facility. As he reached the door he grabbed a datapad, inputting a bunch of commands in a few moments. Delvs would be able to see his own data being projected from the Datapad. Katsu made a motion for Delvs to follow as the door opened and he stepped through, the cool feminine voice of Aliza chiming in.
“Diagnostics chamber 7L has been prepped, Master.”
Katsu gave a quick nod as he put in more commands, Delvs data on the pad being replaced with something else entirely, “Thank you Aliza. Could you prep Toolset 34B, 74K, and... ah, yes, D3?” The datapad was now showing what looked to be a selection of separate microchips.
“On it, Master.”
Katsu looked to Delvs once again as he headed down the hallway towards the Diagnostics chamber, “As for you, Delvs, there's more problems with you than I know how to deal with or even would want to try to fix. That's the nature of being Free-Willed, though, to be imperfect. Welcome to mortality, Delvs. I couldn't be prouder.” Katsu would stop long to place a hand on Delvs artificial shoulder, giving him a straight look in the eye as he said before continuing on.
The room they would soon reach would have a great number of monitors and analyzation devices situated around it. The walls were actually thick glass, allowing them to see the innards from the hallway. Katsu would step through the doorway, pointing at one of the two tables in the room. “Up on the table there, Delvs. Tell me exactly what the problem is, and we'll see what I can do. If I'm correct about what the problem is with you, I should be able to fix it today.” Katsu turned and moved over to a terminal beneath all of the monitors, starting up the process of analysis.
“Don't worry, dear. We'll have you fixed up as soon as possible!”

BORN OF FLESH AND METAL 8,000 pl - 654 Words - @katsu - Father my Father He flinched and kept his hands from tightening into fists as his father began to laugh wildly at him. Several seconds of just laughter filled the air between Delvs and his creator before Katsu calmed himself. The male in question then went on to insult Delvs further at least it seemed that way inside of the Biodroid's young mind. In truth Katsu was just explaining that of course Delvs was flawed, he hadn't been anywhere near completion before he demanded to be set free. His desire to escape had overwhelmed everything else inside of his mind, and he was paying the price for it. He had been foolish to assume that his price for impatience was just his lack of arms. His mind was also the victim of his childish nature. Something that would surely persist throughout all of Delvs life if his father couldn't fix him.
The world began to slow around Delvs when his father pointed and spoke the words that were currently echoing inside of his mind. "You are incomplete." the words were like a poison that was slowly eating away at him. He didn't want to be incomplete, he didn't want to be flawed and imperfect. He wanted the perfection that something inside of him so desperately craved. Yet here his father was rubbing the fact he wasn't what he desired in his face. He could feel his anger rising and the urge to reach out and strangle Katsu until not a single ounce of life was left grew. He kept himself under control, a task that grew in difficulty as the moments passed on. He didn't really want to hurt his father, but the blood inside him was something hard to ignore.
When they began to move Delvs followed; trailing behind Katsu like a puppy after it's master. He listened carefully to the words that escaped from Katsu's mouth and only when he finished and a hand was placed upon Delvs shoulder did he reply back. "I don't want to be imperfect father." he tried to kept the anger out of his voice but self-control on two fronts was hard for the young Biodroid. It was entirely likely that small amount of the anger he was currently feeling leaked out into his words, but if Katsu had noticed he hadn't said anything. Instead they kept on moving, and after a few more moments they arrived at their destination.
A room that Delvs was somewhat familiar with. He had been taken here after his arms had been attached to his body. This had actually been the room where he had first met his father after exiting the pod. It felt strange to be returning here for the first time in two years. He moved towards the table and lifted himself atop of it; golden eyes scanning the area around him. So many monitors displaying so many different types of information. It was a wonder that Katsu was able to process it all, Delvs suppose that was one of the perks of being a genius. He tilted his head towards his father when asked to explain what the problem was.
There was no reason to hide it any longer, "I can't stop myself when I fight. I lose control of my feelings and become a monster, a brute." his tone of voice was deadpan as he explained himself, "I destroyed an entire town during one of these moments of control lose; and instead of feeling bad about it...I felt good." there was a long pause; but a brief smile flashed across his face as he remembered the events at Tanko Town. "I don't want to enjoy the deaths of others but I can't help it. As time passes I keep getting these urges to fight, to destroy." he locked eyes with his father, "Earlier when you were talking I wanted to kill you, because you insulted me." the truth was brutal.

[OOC: Sorry for it being so long!]
Katsu hadn't responded to Delvs various comments until after he had laid down on the diagnostics table, a look of concentration passing across his face as he interpreted all of the information flitting across the screens. When he looked back to see Delvs glaring him in the eyes and explaining that he had wanted to kill him, Katsu gave a smile. It was amazing. Delvs really had become a sentient creature. He had his own free-will. Of course Katsu had to apply himself to the present problem with him, and so the smile didn't last as Katsu began to look at all the data again, this time replying to Delvs comments. “Completely understandable in your case, Delvs. I tend to forget things like social grace when I'm excited. Twas my failing not to explain it better...”
Katsu gave a quick pause, as if thinking of what he was going to say next, to try and word it better for Delvs's sake. “Dianetic Evaluating and Labile Vehicle in Singularity. Do you know what that means? It was your proposed mission. The one I originally decided to create you for. Yet I doubt you've got much of an interest in Black Holes, gravity, or other such studies. Your original purpose has been overwritten by your own Free Will. Some scientists might call that a failure on the part of the creator, but to me its a great success! You are more than what you were before. You've evolved past the half-baked mission I had planned for you, and have decided to pursue another goal entirely. It makes me proud to be a part of your creation. How about you Aliza?”
The voice of Aliza sounded almost a croon as she added, “I'm so happy that you're growing Delvs. I want to see you continue. There's a lot out there to experience, so my databanks tell me. Oh, and Master, Toolset 34B, 74K, and D3 have been prepared and have arrived...”
“Of course since you've grown beyond my design it means I can only give you so much help as you move forward, because you're eventually going to pass out of my level of expertise and knowledge. For now though, I know what the problem is with your combat.” Katsu turned away from the dozens of monitors to approach the diagnostics table. Outside of the room a hovering table could be seen just before it floated through the open door and came to settle down next to Katsu. He gave a look over all of the tools that were placed on the table before picking up some thin data cables and plugging them into Delvs mechanical arms, ports opening to let him do so, protective plates that had been dented from Delv's combat sliding smoothly to the side. With the cables plugged in Katsu began to remove some other protective plates, leaving Delv's two arms looking rather bare and unfinished. “You see when you decided to come out unfinished my knowledge of robotics was very basic. The only mechanical project I had that was even close to being finished was a simple Combat Droid. It's concept was to have each of its singular body parts act as part of a colony, each capable of individual movement and judgment in combat in case the body was separated.”
Katsu continued his work, beginning to bring up some data on the monitors again, this time it was familiar to Delvs. It was the programming of his arms that was brought up, the information flashing as Katsu turned back to tinkering with some tools on the tabletop, delicate looking things suitable for handling electronics and altering circuitry. Starting on Delvs's right side Katsu began poking into the upper arm section, and Delv would feel his whole left arm shut off at once. “The problem arises because it was never meant to interface with an organic nervous system. Since it was designed to separate from the main body and make decisions on its own it keeps fighting the commands of your system. No doubt you would always feel a moment of hesitation whenever you wanted to use your arms for some kind of action, and perhaps in combat it would feel like your arms wanted to do something you didn't tell them to.. You might not be aware of it, either because it was small enough not to notice or perhaps you thought it just the cost of having mechanical arms, but really it's caused quite a drop in your fluidity of movement and motion efficiency.
“It's also likely to be the cause of your memory blur during combat. I didn't build you for Combat but being able to handle stress is an absolute requirement for dealing with the effects of a Singularity, things like adrenaline or the like should only make your memory clearer. The fact that your memory blurs out in combat is because you've got no innate combat programming, and you have had to rely on that provided by the arms, which aren't programmed to record any data.” Katsu suddenly removed a small microchip from Delv's left bicep, placing it to the side before grabbing a similar looking chip off of the tool table and beginning to place it where the other had been. There were three other chips near where Katsu had grabbed the first one off the table, and soon enough they were replacing three chips Katsu removed from Delv's left forearm, wrist, and back of the palm.
Leaning back, Katsu thought for a moment before nodding in satisfaction and moving onto the other arm, beginning the process of removing the chips there as well. “What I'm doing right now is removing the arms' onboard A.I. and replacing them with a simple movement matrix chipset that's slaved to your nervous system. No more lag, no more fighting your movements, no more memory blur. That also means you've got no innate Combat Programming. You'll have to train yourself like Organics do, or absorb some, if you want to go that route. Either way your Saiyan DNA should provide you a bit of ease for that.
“Compared to before you should have nearly a 20% boost in reaction speed and fluidity of motion. It's not the most... outstanding programming, but it's the best I can do. If you're interested in finding a more suitable system for your arms you can search out a Robotics expert. I'm leaving the data for the Mechanic to Organic interface you're using right in the chipset, so they can adopt their tech to fit your interface.” Katsu began to place in the new chips for Delvs's right arm as he spoke, and by the time he was done he had begun fiddling with the nearest console, and Delvs would begin to have feeling in his arms as their systems rebooted...

- 8,000pl - “Come on start your engines flip that switch, and take it to the limit if you ride like this.” WORDS: 672 | TAGS: @katsu | NOTES: Father My Father "......" silence, that's what Delvs gave off as Katsu began to explain exactly what he had created Delvs. Exploration of Black Holes? Strange how something like that wasn't even registering inside of his mind at all. He was sure that the desire to head into space and explore the unknown was present somewhere inside the back of his mind, but it was overshadowed by far more prominent desires. Delvs had thought for sure that the fact he wasn't following Katsu original plan for him would have upset; but instead the human seemed proud. Proud that Delvs had managed to find his own sense of will and wasn't blindly following the commands stored inside of his mind. Even his mother, was proud that he had grown up. It filled him to the brim with an emotion that he had only felt once within his brief life. Happiness. It was strange how something so simply as his parents being proud of him made him feel so warm inside.
Of course the happiness was quickly replaced with curiosity as his father began to work on his arms, opening ports that Delvs was entirely unaware that he had. He listened intently as his father explained that he had little to no experience when it came to robotics. Which begged the question of why he was currently working on his ROBOTIC arms. That aside Katsu explained further that the part of the reason Delvs might have been feeling such strong anger, and desire to battle was due in part to the arms themselves. They had been designed for the use on a combat droid and had it's own form of AI that interacting with Delvs own thoughts in a negative manner. He felt like blaming his father for allowing such a thing to happen. He realized shortly after the thought had entered into his head that it had been his own fault anyway.
The information that Katsu was giving him certainly helped explain what was going with him. Especially if he was created without the intent for him to take part in combat. The explanation felt a little klunky when it came to that part though. If he wasn't meant to engage in combat then why include Saiyan DNA inside of his make up? Perhaps it was just used to make up for the lack of another kind of DNA that was suppose to be present within his genes.
Delvs body twitched slightly and a small jolt of pain coursed through his body the moment Katsu removed the previous AI chip inside of his arms. He replaced it with one that was far more fitted towards interact with an organic being of his nature. Delvs couldn't help but feel slightly relieved that a portion of his problems might have faded away with that one action. The port located inside of his arms closed and his mechanical appendages began to glow a bright orange color for a moment. Afterwords a soft click could be heard. Suddenly Delvs felt as if his mind had begun to clear, angry impulses that had previously been present within him disappearing. Golden eyes looked towards his father and they were filled with relief, "I feel better." always a man of little words. Perhaps that was also something that Katsu could fix? No, it was more of something he needed to work on himself he supposed.
Delvs removed himself from the table and dusted himself off, moving the fingers on each hand one at a time afterwards. Everything felt like it was in working order but the only way to truly know if he was normal would be to fight. That's when his impulsives took full control of him. His arms flattened themselves down against his side and let out a bit of a sigh. "Thank you father, I was worried you wouldn't be able to do anything for me." worried that he'd have spend the rest of his life inside of Katsu lab so that he didn't hurt anyone on the outside world.

Katsu gave that same grin of his again as Delvs got back on his feet, looking at his creation test the motor control of his adjusted arms. When he was thanked for his efforts Katsu waved it off with a mere, “S'what I do, Delvs. I helped create you, and I'll help you along your path to the best of my ability, such as it is.
“Now. You said you felt better. Think you might be up to some practical tests of that? Aliza, what's the status on the Danger Room?” Katsu asked of Delvs before turning to Aliza's nearest monitor.
Her reply was rather simple, “The protective plating is finished but neither the Higgs Amplifier nor the Holographics system are complete. If you want a spar I can just move the plating in to enclose the area without installing the other systems, Master. It could be done by the time you reach the room.”
Katsu gave a nod, showing that was about what he had expected, “Sounds good Aliza. Do that, if you please. Come on Delvs, let's see what that adjustment did for you.” With a few more button presses Katsu shut down the systems in the room, the floating tool table rising into the air before it floated off to its storage room once more. Delvs got to see his old AI chips crushed in Katsu's grip before being tossed at a waste disposal chute at one end of the small room. Apparently Katsu had no desire to recycle the old chips.
Heading out of the diagnostics lab Katsu would take Delvs back to the main room before heading further into the other wing of the labyrinthine laboratory, moving him to an area Delvs had never been in before, and was actually obviously new. There was even a point when they crossed through a cave-like surrounding, various machines working on laying down the systems that would connect all of the new areas to the old. For now it seemed that the only line connecting the old Lab and the new area was a number of power cables, visible now but normally hidden behind the lab walls and floor.
The “Danger Room” as Katsu had called it was a very big room, but didn't really give off a sense of danger. However there were plenty of systems in the walls and in the ceiling that it'd be obvious that this room was eventually going to be much more. For now, Delvs would be able to tell that the plating that made up the walls of the room were incredibly tough, and could be made even tougher with an electric charge. Katsu would stride into the room completely at ease, his hands in his pockets. “Here we are. Incomplete but serviceable. I plan on using this place as a training room of sorts. Why don't you try a quick warm-up before we spar, to get used to your new arms.”

- 8,000pl - “Come on start your engines flip that switch, and take it to the limit if you ride like this.” WORDS: 672 | TAGS: @katsu | NOTES: Father My Father Delvs kept wiggling his fingers about as Katsu spoke to him, inquiring if Delvs felt like he was ready to test himself in a more practical environment. Katsu wanted Delvs to fight inside a room that Katsu had called the Danger Room. As he listened to his father's conversation with his mother it became clear to Delvs that this was more than just a test to see if he was in combat condition, Katsu wanted to test the Danger Room as well. He nodded his head in conferment to his father's offer, and began to follow the older male towards the location of said 'Danger Room'. A place that, to Delvs knowledge, was a recent addition to his father's laboratory. He could only wonder why his father was so interested in a room that was clearly meant for combat training. Katsu was a scientist and not a fighter after all what need would he have for such a room? It had to have been made with the goal of training his creations perhaps? That or it was made for the specific purpose of allowing Delvs to test himself.
The moment Delvs walked into the massive room and examined it from all the angles that he could see, he realized the room wasn't finished. Why were they going to be sparing in here then? Sure the walls looked to be tougher than anything Delvs had seen in the world above but that didn't mean it be able to hold up to powerful ki attacks. Confusion began to grow apparent on his face as he thought further on the matter. He was going to end up destroying this room if he let out all of his power. It was something that Delvs felt readily assured of, but he didn't argue when his father suggested he attempt a little warm up. "I apologize in advance if I damage the room too badly father." he gave a small bow towards the lab coated man, and then closed his eyes.
It was strange how he had only been fighting for a mere two years but he already knew so much about it. Like how to channel his Ki for example. Ki being the life energy that followed through all living beings, even those created artificially. Tapping into his Ki always started out small at first, like he was slowly turning the lock on the door. Only a small bit of ki would escape from his body as he turned the lock, but when he finally opened up that door...it was like a torrent of never ending energy.
An aura of bright gold erupted around Delvs' body and his eyes shot open, the hair atop his head flying about against the wind he had created. He flexed his arms to make sure his elbows were working one final time and then he lifted his right arm up. The index and pinkie fingers on his right hand folded down as three small spheres of energy built atop the fingers of the other three. "Maximum Impact." the words escaped his lips subtle and as they did the three spheres combined before a beam of gold energy was launched towards one of the walls. To Delvs surprise it wasn't instantly destroyed by the sheer strength of his attack. His aura began to quiet down as he turned his attention towards his father once more. "I believe that I am ready to spar father." Shin of GS + Adox

Delvs would perhaps be surprised to note that the armored plating didn't even seem phased by his attack. There was no visible mark on the wall, and the dust and steam from his attack faded from view quickly. It hadn't even activated the enhanced durability via electrocution function. Katsu would give a grin as he explained, “Yeah, stuff's tough as hell, right? Some new composite a colleague devised recently. It's durable but vulnerable to acids, even weak ones, making it unsuitable for making armor for organics like us. I don't have the skill to make a proper Robotic Android so I can't find much of a use for it besides reinforcing the walls and such. Maybe if they can remove that weakness it'll be viable stuff.”
While Delvs opted to stretch his Ki ability, Katsu had instead begun a few exercises to loosen up his body instead, mostly various stretches and a bit of shadowboxing, keeping the speed well within normal human parameters. When Katsu felt he was ready he turned to Delvs, “Just one exertion and you're ready huh?... We'll see. Prepare yourself... quickly!”
Katsu would suddenly shoot forth with a speed that he had never ever shown in front of Delvs, or indeed any of his creations. Katsu's strength was a very recent change relatively speaking, and it would probably be more than enough to catch Delvs off guard. Katsu had clearly felt his creation's powerlevel when he had unleashed his attack before, for while Katsu had no Ki attacks of his own, he did have the ability to sense the power in others, amongst some other abilities. Katsu knew that Delvs current potential was around 8,000 units. Only 500 above Katsu's own potential under normal parameters.
So yeah, Katsu knew he should be able to get in one solid hit before Delvs started taking this seriously. So Katsu wanted to make it count, as he rushed in to Delvs he would aim a Haymaker from the left straight for Delvs chest. He didn't want to really hurt Delvs, only to make him take this seriously, and Katsu knew Delvs ribcage was fully capable of taking greater damage than Katsu could dish out before collapsing.
Thus, if Katsu managed to strike Delvs with his little ambush it would send Delvs flying for sure, but leave him mostly unharmed, at least until he hit one of the room walls! “Take a spar seriously, no matter your partner...”

- 8,000pl - “Come on start your engines flip that switch, and take it to the limit if you ride like this.” WORDS: 458 | TAGS: @katsu | NOTES: Father My Father Delvs hardly had any time to react after his father finished warming up and it was that very lack of readiness that resulted in his father landing a solid blow straight to his chest. He was sent flying through the air and towards one of the amazingly sturdy walls. Luckily Delvs was able to fly and thus managed to catch himself in the air moments before actually making contact with the wall itself. His feet touching against the surface of the wall harmlessly. Obviously he had been wrong to assume that his father was weak, a mistake that he wasn' going to make a second time. Delvs wasn't actually able to judge the amount of power his father had, but judging from the strength in that blow it had to close enough to Delvs own. The Biodroid kicked himself off the wall and landed on the ground several feet in front of his father. He brought his right hand to his chin and then craned his neck to the left cracking it. He repeated this motion once more, this time doing it for the right side of his neck.
It had only taken that one punch for Delvs to feel his blood begin to boil at the prospect of a challenging fight. Thankful the feeling hadn't started to wash over him like it had done in the past, it seemed calmer and far more tamed. Had the work his father done actually helped, or was it simply too early to tell? The only way to know for sure would be to listen to his father's advice and take this seriously, like he would any other brawl he found himself in. He took several slow steps forward, the energy within his body leaking out with each one taken. It was an intimidation tactic that Delvs had used many times during his time in the outside world. He was certain it wouldn't work on his father but it would hopefully serve to distract him slightly. Long enough for Delvs to kick himself off the ground slightly and dash through the air towards his father at a rapid pace. Inside of his hand was a sphere of ki that he attempted to shove into Katsu's gut and explode, launching him upward.
Should the maneuver have worked Delvs would have followed up with a series of low powered energy blasts upward, and into Katsu's body. He was attempting to keep the human in the air for as long as possible, hoping that it would give him enough time to calculate a better plan of attack. Besides he needed to know if his father was capable of flight; a key factor in figuring out how to approach the battle from that moment on. Shin of GS + Adox

Katsu had merely quirked his eyebrow when Delvs had attempted to use his Ki Intimidation tactic. It wasn't a true intimidation like some Ki Experts knew how to perform, but it was still interesting. Of course Katsu already knew that Delvs was stronger than him, so it did little in the way of even a distraction for Katsu. It gave Katsu an idea however, and he gave a smirk as Delvs approached with a Ki-ball in hand. When Delvs went for the gut-shot Katsu blocked with both hands, covering his hands and stomach in a thin layer of Ki that resisted the small explosion of Delvs Ki. The result was that Katsu went flying straight up in the air as Delvs had planned, but there was no damage to Katsu himself. Still grinning Katsu's feet touched the ceiling of the Danger Room, and as soon as they did Katsu extended a hand below him, and a barrier of solid air sprang into being. It was pretty much invisible to the naked eye, but Delvs would be able to see his basic Ki blasts slam into the barrier and explode harmlessly. Meanwhile Katsu would remain apparently pinned to the ceiling, his one hand still connected to the barrier. The truth of the matter was that Katsu was using his arm to handstand on top of the barrier he had made. Katsu couldn't fly, but he sure could fake it in the right circumstances. Still grinning Katsu would look down at his son, “Good. Intelligent. Attempting to get me airborne in order to see if I can fly or not to better mold your tactics. It didn't work, but you definitely had the right idea. So I'll give you a bit of information. I am weaker than you, and I cannot fly. Now, let me see what you'll do with that information.” Delvs might have a hard time believing Katsu could not fly considering he was basically floating on the air, or perhaps attached to the ceiling instead. Either way, Katsu wanted to see what Delvs would do next, and he kept his position quite easily as he waited... [Word Count: 359] Delvs

- 8,000pl - “Come on start your engines flip that switch, and take it to the limit if you ride like this.” WORDS: 379 | TAGS: @katsu | NOTES: I'mma not spam the Ki but it seemed like a fair way to break the barrier. Delvs had been expecting to at least deal a little bit of damage to his father, but judging by how unstretched his father looked he had failed. The biodroid could do little up look up towards his father, as he stood suspended in the air. He had taken note of how his Ki blasts had even managed to make contact with him, and that enough for him to realize his father was currently imploring the effects of a barrier. Delvs wasn't at all disappoint by how quickly his father figured out what he had been trying to do, it wasn't exactly a hard to think of tactic. What he was surprised with was his father's willingness to admit he not only couldn't fly, but that Delvs was stronger than he was. Two things that should have been kept secret. How much stronger than Katsu was he though? The only way for the biodroid to figure it out would be to push his father to his limits.
His feet began to lift themselves up from the ground as forced his ki into his legs, and in only a few short minutes Delvs was completely airborne. He hovered a few inches above the ground and let his eyes narrow at his father, who was keeping himself suspended in the air with the barrier he had created. It didn't matter what he did as long as the barrier was in effect, and the quickest way to get rid of would be to overwhelm it. Delvs pointed his arm towards his father and began to build up his ki into the tips of mechanical finger, it didn't long for the three orbs of ki to appear. "Maximum Impact..." he called out with little emotion housed within his voice, the powerful and narrow beam shot itself forward. Delvs had done an extensive amount of work on the technique, and was quite certain it packed enough force to shatter the barrier. Thus if everything went as planned Katsu would be forced to fall helpless towards the ground, that is when Delvs would make his move. He'd rush forward and outreach his hands to grab hold of Katsu's leg, where he would then fling his father into the wall on his left with his full force.

Talk about Overkill! Delvs went for the topshelf with his attack in order to try and break Katsu's barrier. The thing was that barrier wasn't very sturdy to begin with. It was based on Katsu's ability to manipulate matter, in this case grabbing and halting air from moving, creating a solid yet invisible barrier, but it's power was weak, because Katsu couldn't invest his Ki into the barrier, it was just strong as say iron or steel. Enough to block weak pot shots but completely useless against the likes of such a fearsome blast as Delvs Maximum Impact. Rather than try and tank that blast Katsu went for Evasion, dropping his shield in a moment and leaping with all of his strength against the ceiling, falling to the ground a couple times faster than terminal velocity, crashing into the ground hard enough to make his superhuman legs ring with pain at the strain. It was that strain that made Katsu a step too slow, and Delv's plan went off as he would manage to grab Katsu's legs. Of course, while Katsu had been slowed by his pain enough to be grabbed, it was not enough to stop him from a quick retaliation! As Delvs begun to fling Katsu away he delivered a two-handed blast of Ki aimed straight at Delv's face. That still meant Katsu was flung towards the far wall, but at least it wasn't at the full force, because obviously Delvs would have to deal with that. Grinning as he landed on the wall Katsu bounced off quickly, running back towards at Delvs at high speed before leaping high into the air, his hair scraping the ceiling of the room for a moment as he would deliver a full-power falling axe kick at his creation, using all the momentum of his fall to increase the striking force directly on Delvs head! With the previous Ki blast Katsu had hoped that Delvs would be dazed, his eyes overloaded by the sudden light right in his face, and perhaps it would help Katsu land his blow...but... If Katsu was blocked or dodged he would follow up with a quick singular Ki blast aimed off to Delv's left, forcing him to go right before Katsu would bring a strong hook punch aimed for Delvs stomach, just below the Solar Plexus. If Katsu's initial falling axe kick or his hook punch hit Katsu would follow up with a strong front kick to knock Delvs off his feet to the ground. Just because Delvs could fly didn't mean that Katsu couldn't reach him either, for if Delvs had been flying above head height Katsu would merely create a platform of air for himself to stand on while performing the hook and front kick. Katsu couldn't fly, but he could fake it really really well. “Good basic premise to destroy my barrier, but you went a little overboard on how much energy you put into that attack. Energy Waste can be a critical failure in real combat, as can not following up!” Katsu would unleash a triple dozen barrage of Ki blasts at Delvs at that point, flinging each blast forward as fast as he could move his arms, peppering Delvs with a number of blasts meant more to hammer home the point of not following up rather than doing real damage.
