Into a Crystal Cavern!
Reaching the top of the hill panting madly, our stubby tailed and floppy eared hero collapses into the grass. The hike had been much more then he had expected. Catching his breath the dog sat upon the cushion of plant life beneath him and pulled a flask from his pack of supplies the Prince recommended he bring if he was going to go exploring. A sweet flavor filled his mouth as the pup gulped down the drink and let out a satisfied sigh as his thirst has been quenched and he felt alive once more. It was then his eyes chanced up to see across the horizon and the vantage point the high hill offered the dog. The sky and the land it lorded over meeting together. Rolling hills, bountiful forests and a large mountain.
In truth going anywhere on this planet would be exploring for this young hero. He had crash landed on this alien world a few days prior and had luckily met a very kind prince. They hit it off fairly well and thankfully a new craft was found for the dog, he would now be able to return home. However he had decided to stay just a while longer and take in what this strange world offered. It wasn't everyday you got to go to space after all.
However just staying in the castle of the prince had gotten a little tedious and boring. So Chili had decided to go out into the nearby plains, forests, and mountains and have a look. Just for the time being. Though there was a little talk about guards or even the prince accompanying him the young pup considered this a one person mission. With a pack of supplies he was off into the wilderness to discover for himself.
Content now with his spectacular view the young canine repacked his satchel and climbed back to his feet. Jumping forward into a run he laughed out as he sprinted over the curve of the hill and leaped. Slamming down on the slopping side he dug his feet in and slid down the landscape scattering a cloud of dirt into the air. Coming to the bottom of his little ride was a lush and vibrant forest. His boots trampled through the underbrush as he peered and poked at the foliage and the visible fauna.
Finding a rather large tree Chili had an epiphany. Transforming his paw he hacked into the bark of the tree ever so slightly. "Chili waz here" was now carved into the wooden monument. Feeling rather proud of himself, and admiring his own handiwork the dog noticed the sound of a running stream. He followed the sound until he nearly fell into it as he pushed on through a bush. His eyes discovered ever so small fish swimming just beneath it's shallow water.
The dog became lost in his mind as he followed the small yet quick moving water beast as they made their way up stream swimming with all their might against the current. The water cascading across the dog's shoes as he stepped across rock and over mud up and up the stream. That is until he came to a shadowy moss covered cliff face. It's rocky facade sparkled and if looked closely upon you could see tiny jewels jutting out of it. In front of the glittering cliff was a pool of water where the stream seemed to spawn from, clear and crystal magnified light shimmering beneath it's coat. A small waterfall feeds into it from above dripping down, and behind this waterfall a cave that looked like a night sky, dark but bright at the same time.
"Now this is what I'm talking about" huffed the pup as he shouldered his bag and climbed up and around the pool. Balancing on the edge as he made his way behind the waterfall and into the opening. It was too dark to see clearly in this natural tunnel and a quick paw solved this. With a click of a button a glow erupted from a flashlight the dog had had packed. Even inside the walls of the cave where the same tiny jewels as outside, but the deeper the dog went the more and more they appeared and the larger they grew.
Eventually deep within this tunnel the cave looked to turn into wavy grains of jewel itself, the rock beneath blending away into nothingness. And that's when the cave opened up into a huge open room. Huge pillars of crystals jutted out from the ground and down from the ceiling. Flanked by smaller ones, varying size and shape but all of beautiful colors. The room was a massive display of nature's beauty. The dog's jaw was wide open in awe as he swept across the walls of the room with his light, beams of it fracturing into tiny glowing streams of sun with every jewel it hit. A rainbow danced across the room. "Woooooaaah" escaped Chili's mouth as his flashlight rested in the middle, where the largest of the crystal's stood planted firmly in the ground.
Then it moved!
An earthquake rumble echoed through the room as the prismatic crystal came to life within the room, the light had awoken it. Rocks and jewels crashed down from above. The young pup shielded his eyes his hand dropped his flash light. The cylindrical device rolled across the cave’s floor and rested on a large prism the light bouncing off it’s insides and bringing a dancing glow to the room. Chili dropped his arm to find a monster made of stone and gem staring him down and alien eyes and sharp diamond like teeth. Whatever it was it was not happy to have a visitor. "SKREEE!" screamed the cracked crystal creature!
“Awe nuts!” chimed the canine as a lumbering stony limb crashed down where he was standing. Finding just enough time to roll his body out of the way, the dog turned his head to look back upon this unnatural natural monster. The creature was built of pieces of stone and gems fused into massive monolith. But this was organic, clearly something that was very much alive and very much angered by the presence of this dog!
Chili took off into a sprint into the cave as the monster raised his limb back up once again ready to strike at the canine. With a crash it slammed into the cavern floor again shaking the room and shattering the rock beneath. Chili had stopped just in time to avoid being crushed beneath it. With a nervous gulp he leaped up onto the arm itself and ran up it’s length. The creature’s eyes watching as this small nuisance scaled it’s body. Tearing it’s arm from the ground as Chili reached it’s shoulder.
Jumping forward and spinning his body, a focus painted on the pup’s face as he transforms his leg into a furious axe blade and smashes the sharp wedge into the side of this granite adversaries head. It’s body lurched as a crack sprang out and the recoil of the attack knocks Chili away flipping over himself in the air until he crashes back into the floor below and up against the wall.
Rubbing his head as he picked himself up off the floor the dog boy watched as the monster regained it’s composure. It didn’t have an expression really but the pup had a feeling he knew what it was thinking. Then a bright light began to emit within the beast, wavering throughout it’s crystal. The large gem that substituted it’d head growing bright and brighter, it seemed to focus more and more.
“Oh!” yipped the boy as he sprang back up to his feet running forward and stumbling over his own feet as the monster threw his shoulders forward and a huge beam of energy erupted out of it like a volcano, hot and dangerous. Chasing the young dog around the room with the beam his feet trying to keep him moving as Chili looked over his shoulder at the murderous beam getting closer and closer.
Chili’s eyes found again the flashlight he had dropped the one lighting the room. It’s light splintering around the room thanks to one of the majestic pillars of jewel. Thinking quickly Chili rolls behind the same pillar grabbing the torch! The room going darker for only a moment before the deathly beam hits the prism.
The beam fractures and shoots across the room even flashing back at the beast in a million smaller blasts. A shrill screech shatters the ear drums as the beast is cut into a thousand chunks by it’s own attack!
Dusting himself off Chili turns his light back to the pile of rubble that was once alive. Shadows casting over it’s broken form, shattered jewels litter the floor. Stepping over to a stone and giving it a solid kick to make sure whatever it was is dead, the pup picks up a few pieces of it and stuffs them in his satchel. “I bet mom would like one of these” he chirps as he turns back to the tunnel leading into the cave and decides maybe it was best to return to the castle.
Yeah that's done.
