Name: Samael
Name Pun: Named for the demon from Jewish theology.
Alias: N/A
Species: Half-Demon, Half-Human (Demon Dominant)
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Appearance:
History: Samael was born due to an ill-advised union between a male demon and a female human worshiper of said demon. Samael never met his father who had taken off shortly after his mother discovered she was pregnant. Before his demon father left, however, he told Samael's mother he would someday return to claim the child. Samael's mother clung to this statement for her entire life and tried to have her son do so as well.
Samael, however, had less and less faith in his father's statement with each year that passed. On the night before Samael's tenth birthday his father claimed him, but not in the way his mother had expected. That night in his dreams, Samael received a visit from his father. Samael's father didn't do much in the dream, just smiled and said one simple word "soon."
Apparently soon was all relative, because Samael's life stayed very much the same for several years. Growing up in a small village meant everyone knew each other, which in Samael's case was a bad thing. Due to his demonic heritage, all the villagers viewed him with a combination of fear and disdain. The other youth in the village would torment him early on, but the mere possibility of him getting angry and using his "evil powers" on them quickly made them decide against bullying him.
Shortly after his eighteenth birthday, the villagers hatred and fear of Samael came to a head. When another young man turned up dead the village was quick to blame the young half-demon. After an extremely biased trial, the villagers decided to hang Samael. As the noose was tied around his neck, however, the Makyo Star appeared above the Earth throwing the half-demon into a blood rage.
When Samael came back to his senses he was standing in the ruins of his village with the corpses of the villagers everywhere. The one person who mattered in that village was his mother and he couldn't find her anywhere, he eventually tracked her down, but he was not prepared for the state she was in. He had killed his own mother under the influence of the Makyo Star.
After this realization, he heard his father's voice say, "By the blood of your mother I have claimed you." Samael fled the scene of his crime with the noose still around his neck. He kept it around his neck for almost a year in order to allow it to create a scar, marking him for the act he had committed.
Since that fateful day, Samael has wandered the Earth looking for some way to atone.
