[Heavy Weights Equipped - Thread PL = 2963] The Delicious Duo traveled towards the Western Lands once again after finally receiving a crucial piece of information regarding one of the four legendary scrolls that made up their goal; The Mythical dish known only as Ruby’s Salvation. Supposedly a dish suit for the gods, it was every chefs/food connoisseurs dream. There was nothing more valuable, nothing more prestigious than the ability to grab a bite from the dish. Despite being a mythical dish, which any ordinary person would come to the conclusion that it was only food and would be easy as pie to obtain, it was quite the opposite. The dish was made up by four different scrolls which were presumably hidden around Planet Earth. According to lore, they were extremely well hidden. Most chefs spend their entire lives just trying to come across ONE of the scrolls. It’s been said that about 95% of them have all failed. To everyone else, Chaz and Ibby were just another hopeless bunch trying to chase after impossible dreams. In their minds, it was all they wanted. It was what they dreamt about since the age of five. From the moment they woke up, to the very moment they fell asleep at night, they thought about Ruby’s Salvation. Although it had been several months since they began their adventure to find the Mythical dish, they had no intention of giving up. Despite having false leads left and right, they took every single one of them in a heartbeat. With their small-time goal of trying out as many new and different foods as possible, it only helped to cement their drive for Ruby’s Salvation. They wouldn’t give up until they found it. “Chaz-kun.. Are you sure about this..?” Ibby stuck his trembling hands inside of his vest pockets. His eyes were heavily narrowed on the path right before his feet, very reluctantly looking ahead in fear of reaching their destination. “Of course I am! We’ll be fine, Ibby. This is gonna be another epic adventure!” As chipper as always, Chaz threw his arms behind his head, clasping his fingers together. He was very carefree about this entire ‘operation’. “We haven’t even come up with a solid plan for this.. Do you just expect to wing it..? Again..?”“Yep!”Ibby shook his little red head. Winging it was not his style, contrary to his partner’s ways. Ibby was really anal about these types of things. He had a severe fear of being captured, especially by some type of law enforcement. With what Chaz had told him about the very flawed plan he came up with hours before, they were sure to have problems with the police. Again. Back in the Eastern Lands, they ran into cops after having a showdown with two Demonic-hitmen. It was quite the scary experience. Their old friend, the red-headed hybrid, Raisu, had been there with him. After destroying most of the stage, law enforcement showed up. Ibby and Chaz took the blame for it all. As they were being taken into custody, they had managed to bust out due to one of Chaz’s crazy antics. It was one of the scariest experiences of Ibby’s life, and he never wanted to run into another cop ever again. “Chaz-kun..! I’ve heard stories about this place..! A lady died there.. She was murdered!” “So…?”“W-what.. What if it’s haunted?!” Chaz clenched his stomach, doubling over in laughter. “Bwaahahaha! We’ll be fine, man! I’ll punch ‘em up if they get too close!”

Raisu was flying in the west, the great frontier. He didn’t spend a lot of time out this way, but it was certainly nice enough. The ground below him seemed to stretch forever and ever. It was quite nice. Mesmerizing, even. Though he should be keeping his eye on the sky, he could not look away from the ground, It kept him in a trace. Flying was so interesting. It was an entirely different experience. While walking through the frontier might be nice, flying made it even better. It was like watching the world on fast forward, in a sense. He sped on by, while the landscape stayed still.
And then he felt something in his mind: two familiar ki signatures. Chaz and Ibby by the feel of it. Interesting, he thought. The three always seemed to be meeting up these days. Whether it was in the South Capitol fighting Saiyans, or even fighting demon assassins at a concert, it was always interesting when they were around. The duo seemed to attract trouble, wherever they went. Which made for fun moments. Usually, Raisu was able to get into a fight while they were around, which was nice. Fighting was one of his favorite activities of late. He supposed he could blame it on the Saiyan blood in his veins, but that would be a cop-out. Perhaps it was just his nature. Hell, he’d even learned to fight and manipulate ki from humans, Funny how that went. People always said the Saiyans were the warrior race, but humans did it too. Not that Raisu was disagreeing with the stereotype. Quite the opposite. He actually very much believed it. But it was an interesting observation nonetheless.
Raisu changed his course in the air. He might as well go see Chaz and Ibby. If he didn’t, who knows what trouble they might get into. They were liable to trap themselves in some awful scenario that they couldn’t save themselves from. Such was life. And he didn’t really mind. He quite liked the duo, as odd as they were. They meant well, which is what mattered. As he closed in on them, he found it interesting that they were walking. Could Chaz still not fly? Poor kid. Raisu would have to teach him someday.
And then he saw them. He descended, speeding towards them like a bullet, coming in hot. He brushed past them, right over their heads and landed right in front of them.
“Chaz, Ibby. Fancy meeting you guys again.”

Far above the western forests and grasslands there was the sound of a screeching halt as someone suddenly broke from flying, followed by an incredible sigh of aggravation. The source was a young woman, looking very annoyed with her particular situation. Aiami had been trying to find her way home for some time, and while she had at least made it out of the north if the temperature was any indication, she was still lost. She had been flying for hours in the hopes of spotting a major road, but she hadn't caught sight of anything like that. Unfortunately for her she had been angled on a western course, completely away from her destination in the east.
Next person I see, I need to ask them directions. And if they have a map. She promised inwardly, taking a breath to calm her unstable state of mind before continuing on her heading. Land went on for quite some time as she sped along, sparing no energy as she did so, her white aura flaring and outlining her against the sky. While she didn't see anything, she could feel three energies ahead of her, and at least one was familiar. It made it easier that Aiami had only met a few who were strong enough to register in her mind, but the level of power reminded her distinctly of the half-Saiyan she had met in the north, Raisu. And here they were a few days later.
It was a small world when everyone could zip around high above the ground.
Maybe Raisu will know of some towns around here. Though the last time I followed his directions it didn't really end well. Aiami sighed, a jab at herself rather than Raisu. She angled toward his direction and started flying lower to the ground, slowing down before she came to a gentle stop to set feet on the ground, close to the group.
"Am I interrupting?" She asked them, genuinely concerned. It would be rude to do anything otherwise.

As Chaz and Ibby were traveling along, a familiar sound rang above their heads. It was some type of sonic-boom like noise. Before they could even blink, much less turn around to see exactly what it was, a red blur zoomed past them. The force from such speed nearly knocked the Delicious Duo off of their feet. Dust kicked up, very lightly clouding the immediate area surrounding them. When Chaz opened his eyes, he witnessed their long time friend standing there with a slight grin on his face; Raisu. The red headed hybrid, known for saving Chaz and Ibby on several occasions. What the hell was he doing all the way out here? More importantly.. was he following them? Everywhere they seemed to go, Raisu wasn’t much further behind. A thought then flashed through Chaz’s mind. It was stupid, but it kinda made sense. What if Raisu was some sort of guardian angel? Was he sent down from the heavens above to not only help, but protect Chaz and Ibby along their journeys? Chaz had been reading way too many fiction books lately. Of course he wasn’t! Raisu definitely had the grace to fit the role, though.
Chaz tried to hide the fact that he almost peed himself. Raisu had literally almost scared the piss outta’ him. Ibby on the other hand, was more than delighted to see Raisu. “Raisu-kun! Hi! What brings you all the way out here?” Ibby lifted himself up into the air, floating over to rest upon Raisu’s shoulder. He was quite small, so accomplishing such a task was easy for him. He never did it to Chaz mainly for the sole fact that Chaz didn’t like it. He said Ibby’s fur always got in his ears, and it bugged him, “Oi, Raisu-sama! What’s up? How have ya been, dude?”
Just then, an energy level shot off in Chaz’s head. He looked around the area, even scanning the skies for a moment. Nothing. He didn’t see anyone or anything, save for a few birds dotting the skies. “What’s wrong, Chaz-kun?” Chaz turned his attention back to Raisu. He knew Ibby wouldn’t be able to feel anything, but Raisu definitely would. “Do you feel that?”
It pinged off of his mind again. While it wasn’t a particularly powerful power level, it was above your average human. Way above one, in fact. He turned his head again, allowing his eyes to narrow in on a black dot in the sky. The black dot was becoming bigger, and bigger, and bigger. Soon enough, Chaz was able to make out the figure of someone. They were flying. Did everyone and their mother know how to fly? Everyone BUT Chaz? It was getting a bit frustrating at this point. His fear of heights was a big hinderance to him. Ibby could fly, Raisu could fly, this person could fly. Could worms fly, too? For crying out loud.
As Chaz was caught in thought, the individual landed. He turned his attention back on them to notice that it was a female. Huh, the first time he’s seen one that can fly on his journeys. Not that he didn’t think wouldn’t couldn’t fly, but it was a rarity. For him, at least. She had asked if she was interrupting them, very polite in the way that she carried herself. Chaz threw his hand through the air, brushing it off. “Nah! You’re cool!” Ibby tossed her a genuine smile and wave as well, hoping that he was being friendly enough to not scare her off. “You’re not interrupting at all!”

They seemed surprised to see him. Raisu almost wanted to make a joke about their constant run-ins. It was kind of funny. Raisu had seen them more than any of the other people he’d met on his journey. Of course, there were folks he would like to see again. But these two were nice enough. They didn’t murder wantonly, which was a positive quality to have these. How sad of a state the world was in that had to be counted as a positive. But he wasn’t going to complain. The world could get better. So long as there were good people left, it might get better.
They asked how he was doing. Alive, he wanted to say. But he let that go for now. He had no reason to complain. And they also asked what he was doing out here. Which was a good question itself. If he were them, he would be very suspicious of himself. But it was purely by coincidence that they ran into each other. Perhaps fate had ideas of its own.
“I was just flying by when I felt your guys’ ki. I decided to come say ‘hi’,” he explained. “And I’m doing okay, thanks for asking. But what are you guys up to? Usually when I run into you guys, you’re usually in trouble,”
And then another familiar ki signature brushed against his mind. He’d met this ki signature once before. once. They’d met in the north. It was Aiami. He could feel her before she came to them. It seemed everyone was turning up today. This was interesting.
She landed and asked if she was interrupting. Raisu shook his head. No, nothing of importance was even going on. “Hey Aiami. What brings you out here?”
Things were getting interesting. All these people turning up.

Aiami smiled as she was assured she was fine to stay, but it was quickly replaced with something a little more sheepish when Raisu had asked his question. She wished her honest answer was a little better than what it was. It was a wonder if Raisu wasn't going to start questioning her navigation skill. Though, she couldn't really blame him for such thoughts. Even she recognized that when it came to exploration and directions she was immensely challenged. But she had a plan for that.
"Ah, well..." She began, finding the words uncomfortable to admit, even if she had already admitted it to herself. "I'm lost... Again. I tried following your advice, but I couldn't find any roads for a few days. I sensed you and figured you might have been in a town where I could finally pick up a map. Though, unfortunately, it would seem that is not the case." She shrugged. "At least it is good to see a friend again."
Aiami offered him a smile and a slight bow of her head before turning to regard the other two. And odd pair she thought, to be sure. Looked like a human and one of those small animal creatures. Zoanthropes? She couldn't remember the name very well from school, and there weren't any back in Kota town, so this would be her first time meeting one. How exciting! Finally, a new experience she was happy with. Seeing the land was nice, but it was marred by her being lost. Not to mention her first time visiting North City.
But that was behind her. Now was a time for new friends and introductions. Aiami turned to Chaz and Ibby, bowing from her waist. "I'm Aiami Lin. It is very nice to meet you both." When she stood straight once more her pose became a little more relaxed and casual. "I take it you all have met before?"

The Delicious Duo were very pleased to know that Raisu stopped in order to say hi to them. Raisu was probably a very busy guy, and for him to go out of his way to chill with them was cool. Then he asked what they were doing, mentioned the fact that when he always ran into them, they were in trouble. Ibby rolled his eyes, going to whisper in Raisu’s ear. “Not yet, anyways. Chaz-kun has a very crazy idea.. which I am not for. I’m sure he’ll explain it to you sooner or later…”
Chaz threw his hands into the air in excitement when Raisu asked what they were up to. “We are going to go investigate a “haunted house”! Doesn’t that sound like a lot of fun? Ibby here is scared because a couple of murders happened there, and he doesn’t want to run into the cops.. but.. c’mon?! What if there are some cool recipes in there or somethin’?!” He bounced around, as jolly as ever. He was sincerely pumped to go explore this place. In reality, he wasn’t looking for just any old recipe. No, he was looking for a scroll leading to Ruby’s Salvation. That’s what Chaz was looking for. While Ibby was scared of the fact that it could be haunted, and then the added danger of law enforcement being there, he too wanted to find a piece of their dream.
The woman had mentioned something about being lost. She was asking the wrong people, thought Chaz. Even Chaz had the balls to admit that he had absolutely no sense of freakin’ direction. Eleven times out of ten, Chaz and Ibby would lead her in the wrong direction. He kept quiet, allowing Raisu to handle this one. Not even Ibby jumped in.
The woman bowed and introduced herself Aiami Lin. Quite the odd name, thought Chaz. But hey, people thought his name was weird as hell, too. He held his hand out, going to shake hers. “My name is Chaz, and this is Ibby! It’s epic to meet you, too!” Ibby offered the woman a small wave and smile.
“You bet we’ve met before! He’s helped me battle a lot of different guys. I guess you could say he is a real.. life-saver!” He winked towards Raisu, going to give him a nudge on the arm with his elbow. This was meant, more or less, to be an inside joke between them, seeing as Raisu had saved their lives on multiple occasions. “Raisu is a cool guy, I wouldn’t be where I am right now without ‘im!”
Chaz turned his direction towards the dirt path that they were traveling along. Their destination wasn’t far off from where they currently were. “You guys wanna come with us?! It’d be a lot of fun!”

Aiami was lost again. Raisu chuckled at this. Man, did he ever understand that. He’d been lost a bunch of times, especially before he could fly. It was a wonder he hadn’t starved to death in the wilderness at some point. Hell, thinking back on it, he’d probably come close a few times. At least Aiami could fly. Being lost was a lot easier when you were so mobile. At least Raisu had been something of a beacon for her. Good. Being able to sense ki sure had its uses, as Raisu had come to find time and time again. It had led to some of the most interesting encounters he had ever had. It may have also saved his life a few times, but there were those who could not be sensed, like those who were part machine.
“Ah, I see. Well, there’s Ginger Town around here. Maybe you can find that. And it’s good to see you again anyway, Aiami.”
What was even more interesting is that Chaz and Ibby were about to investigate a haunted house, in which someone had apparently been murdered. Spooky, thought Raisu. And they were looking for… recipes? Was all the trouble they caused for damned recipes? Raisu’s hand shook. He resisted the urge to take the two of them and slap them. How many times had they almost died now? But no, he wouldn’t do that. He might hurt them, despite his weights. It was fine. They meant well. But by Kami, did they need to start using their heads.
They introduced themselves to Aiami, even mentioning Raisu. They called him a cool guy, something that flattered him. It was always nice to be appreciated. What’s more, is that they invited Raisu and Aiami to come along on their trip to ghost house. Great, thought Raisu. Who would try to kill him this time? He was half tempted to fly away, but he liked the duo. And besides, someone had to keep them out of trouble. Even if he had to drag them away kicking and screaming.
“Sure, sounds like a fun time. How about you, Aiami?”

Apparently, not only did they all know each ther, but Raisu had helped them with.. something. Even only knowing Chaz and Ibby for a few moments, she had a strong feeling that something was in the same vain as 'haunted houses' and 'ghosts.' Aiami couldn't help but smile some at their enthusiasm, however. And it wasn't like she was much of one to judge. She could fly and she was still lost. Of which speaking, a little bit of an adventure as a distraction wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Besides, if she launched off right now looking for this Ginger Town she had the sneaking suspicion she was just going to end up cold and lost, again. She was still lost, currently, but she was with friends. That made it better, right?
Right. She nodded an affirmative to Raisu's question. "It certainly sounds... interesting. And I haven't had the chance to actually experience very much while bumbling around the sky, so this will be a welcome change." She said while smiling. "Though it is slightly unsettling to hear about the murders... and the police. We won't be breaking anything by having a look around, will we?"
Aiami was always taught to keep out of the police's way, and they generally knew best. She wasn't about to start doing otherwise, even if she was far from home. Exploring sounded like harmless fun, but only if they could do it without interfering with any sort of police work. Though, on the other hand, if it was already considered 'haunted,' she doubted the local authorities cared that much. The murders could have been from some time ago.

Aiami seemed a little timid about the entire fiasco. She didn’t seem to want to break any laws whatsoever. She was much like Ibby. If she knew the entire plan, she probably wouldn’t want to do it in the first place. Technically, they were breaking the law. With Chaz’s idea, anyways. A very very major law. Fortunately for them, Chaz and Ibby knew a guy that could hook them up with what they needed to pull off the job. “Nope! No law breaking at all!”
Ibby leaned over towards Aiami in order to whisper to her. “Just be prepared for anything.. Chaz-kun can be very unpredictable.”
“Away!” Ibby placed his little paws underneath Chaz’s shoulders, hooking them under his armpits. Chaz closed his eyes, biting his lip tight. He was deathly afraid of heights. It scared him to even THINK about heights. But, they had two other people here that could fly. And they were going with them. He didn’t want to slow them down anymore than he already had to due to his inability to fly himself. He began snapping his fingers, a self defense mechanism that he utilized to keep himself calm in situations such as this one. “Just don’t look down Chaz, just don’t look down..”
It didn’t take long for them to arrive on the scene. Luckily, Chaz was able to hold himself together in the air. What they saw near the house was something they did not expect. It was swarming with police cars and reporters. Sirens were going off, ambulances parked right outside the doors. This totally took Chaz’s mind off of the fact that he was nearly a hundred feet in the air. “What the hell is going on?” Ibby lowered them to the ground, placing Chaz feet first. His body sort of came back to him in that moment. He was on solid ground now, not going anywhere. Just where he wanted to be.
He held his hand up, attempting to signal to the other three to stay back. He approached a couple police officers standing before the yellow police tape that surrounded the entire house. He nonchalantly waved to them, clasping his hands behind his head. “Oi! What’s goin’ on here?” The cops looked at each other, then nodded. They figured that Chaz was just some curious kid, and with the information they could relay to him, he’d do no harm. “Another set of murders. Some kids trespassed on the property and decided to stay the night. That’s all we can disclose for now.”
Chaz stood on his tippy toes, trying to overlook the crowd. What he saw was something out of a horror movie. Being carried out on stretchers, underneath heavily blood-stained white cloths, were what he could only assume were the bodies of the kids. The mere sight of the red-white cloths sent shivers down his spine. He felt as if he was going to hurl.
Ibby looked up at Raisu and Aiami, an inquizitive expression plastered across his furry face. “What do you guys think is going on..?”
Returning to the trio, assuming they hadn’t moved, burrowing his hands deep into his pockets. “Some other kids got murdered…”

No law breaking? Raisu found that hard to believe. But at least Aiami was coming. Someone else to share the inevitable trouble that arises with. As it would always do so. Especially around these two. Ibby hit the nail on the head: Chaz was certainly unpredictable. It was as if the forces that be had decided to make the boy an agent of chaos. It was the only explanation that Raisu could think of for why everything seemed to go to, or come from, Hell when Chaz and Ibby were around. These two might just be blessed in that way. Or cursed, depending on how you look at it.
With that, Ibby latched onto Chaz and ascended into the air. So that’s how the two of them got around. Interesting to say the least. Raisu wished he had had somebody to fly him around before he could do it himself. It would have made traveling a lot easier. Though he had enjoyed his travels pre-flight. There was something rustic about it. And besides, he still walked at times, so it wasn’t as if he gave it up entirely.
Raisu took to the air after them. He’d best follow like this, even if he could sense ki. If he didn’t something else might happen to them. As it turned out, it wasn’t a long fly at all. Quite brief actually. The joys of flight were apparent. As they arrived on the scene, there was a mess of cop cars on the scene. For a brief, wild moment he thought ‘Dammit Chaz’. But then he realized that this could not possibly be Chaz’s fault, at least not yet. The entire scene was covered with police tape. Raisu watched as Chaz approached a police officer. He’d let him take care of that. Landing nearby, he waited with Ibby for Chaz to return. What in the world had happened here?
And then Chaz came back, reporting that people had been murdered here. Raisu raised an eyebrow and swallowed, hard.
“Really? Well, damn.”
He looked around. Quite the crowd. Poor kids. His heart felt for them. Cut down too soon.
“So, uh, what do you want to do about this?”
Raisu asked that question, prepared for almost any response. And with Chaz, almost anything was on the table.

Unpredictable? That wasn't a word that filled Aiami with a lot of good feelings, especially in relation to what they were going to do. Haunted house, murders, unpredictable? Those things did not mix. That much she was absolutely sure of. But still, it did sound fun, and something was urging her to go. Perhaps it was something to do with keeping them out of trouble and be a source of responsibility. She was used to being an older sibling, and that was starting to be a very familiar feeling here. Chaz did remind her of her brother, a little. Though with less talking cat friend. And less obsession with occult houses. And, of course, it was good Raisu was there. He was stronger than her or Chaz. Probably combined, and then some, still. If anything, he would keep them safe, no matter what happened.
She floated into the air with the rest of the group, following Chaz as they zoomed through the sky to their destination. Though, she didn't fail to notice it was more like following Ibby, as Chaz was being carried. That definitely struck her as odd, usually someone at his level of power knew how to fly. Or at least, everyone that she knew who had any measure of power over their ki could fly at least a little bit. Maybe he just couldn't control it very well right now? She felt herself inwardly shrug. She didn't plan on asking him about it, assuming that if he wanted to, he would share. With that thought out of her mind, Aimai focused on the flight, scanning the ground below them for the kind of house they were looking for. Of course, she saw it about the same time as everyone else, along with the sirens. She was already starting to have a bad feeling about this.
Landing with the group, she stayed close to Ibby and Raisu as Chaz moved off to talk to the police. Aiami tried to get a better look at what was going on, but she had a pretty good idea that it was nothing good with all of the lights and people in the area. She craned her neck to see more, but nothing useful came of it, so she decided to sit quietly for the moment. Though, she did offer a shrug at Ibby's question. When Chaz returned her spirits and face dipped a little lower. More murders? That was very... unfortunate. And odd. What was it about the house that did that? There's no way it was actually haunted, but she didn't know what that left her with, either.
"I, ah... suggest that going into the house seems like a bad idea. Especially now with all of the police and other people around. I think I see cameras over there, too." She gestured to some press in the crowd. "I think we would only get in the way, personally. It would be best to leave this to the police."
"Why did you want to visit this place in the first place? I think I remember you saying something about recipes?" She asked, curious about what Chaz was up to. She had to admit, she thought she misheard the excited man when he first described going to the haunted house, and she still thought she might of. There's no way there would be any 'cool recipes' in a haunted house, right? She was pretty sure those two things didn't go together.
