Raisu squirmed as the make-up artists ran their hands over him. He didn't like this, not one little bit. How could he? Strange people touching his face. It was odd, like an invasion of space. The catfolk, however, seemed to be enjoying it. Well, good for him, thought Raisu. At least somebody could be happy about this.
"Yeah, sure. Awesome. Right."
Raisu sighed and slouched in his chair. They were touching his hair now. He shivered. Very few individuals in his life time had touched him like this. Simply no one was close enough for that. His mother, Tsu Kini, that one brown haired girl from high school... That had been a poor choice on his part, looking back on it. Very poor indeed. But that was in his past now. He hadn't seen the girl in years. What was she doing now? She'd always talked of getting her cosmotology degree. She'd loved his hair. Funny to think of her now. She was probably dead, given the Saiyan Invasion is all. Deska had been her name. But that was in the past.

It was almost time for them to go one. Exactly one minute until they needed to burst through those curtains and entertain that capacity crowd. Two-thousand plus people outside cheering their names, holding up all sorts of merchandise with their faces and names on it. Anything ranging from posters, to mugs, to bobbleheads, to towels. Even apparel of them. There was basically a mob of over two-thousand people that worshipped them. They were like gods. As amazing as it was to have people outright bowing down to you, it was scary. What were they gonna do when they didn’t play the right songs? Or if they sounded different? Or if they completely screwed up what they were supposed to be playing? So many things had such a high chance of going wrong that they’d be found out within a matter of seconds. It was almost going to be impossible for them to pull off. No matter, Chaz got them into this. As much as he hated to admit it, he did. He got all three of them into this, and there was absolutely no way out.
Ibby bounced out of the dressing room, happily skipping along towards Chaz. Chaz had been positioned right behind the curtain. The curtain they were supposed to enter onto the stage from. He stopped right next to his human brother, tugging on his pant leg. “What’s wrong, Chaz-kun? You’re not scared, are you? If you are, there isn’t any backing out now. You got us into this. You’re going through with this no matter what. We’re all stuck in this, so that means you are too.” Chaz shook his face back and forth, even giving his cheeks a couple good smacks. This was something he always did when he was scared or nervous. Always trying to hype himself up to make him look bigger than he actually was. In all honesty? He didn’t want to go out there. He knew he’d be making a fool of himself. It was now apparent to him that this “so called” genius plan of his to get them into the concert for free was not well thought-out.
“Psshh! I know that! I-I ain’t scared! I’m ready to do this. Are you guys?” Thirty seconds went by. They had thirty left until they went on stage. The backstage area was deadly silent. Not a person in sight. No makeup artists, no security guards, not even the uptight manager guy who caught them in the first place. No one was around. That was a bit weird.. Where the hell did they all go? Maybe they went down into the crowd in order to watch the show. But there had to be people backstage making sure the lighting and sound was all good, right? There had to be camera men. Those guys were surely outside, but everyone else? They were all gone. One of the biggest problems though; They didn’t know who should be playing what instrument. There were obviously three different instruments on stage for them, but who played what? Did Chaz go for the drums or the guitar? Did Ibby take on the drum? Was Raisu supposed to be the one singing and playing the guitar?
They had no time to talk about this. They’d just have to wing it. Ten seconds.. Nine seconds.. Eight seconds.. Seven seconds.. Chaz and Ibby looked towards each other, then back at Raisu, trying to confirm that they were really about to do this. Six seconds.. Five seconds… The crowds cheers and howling got louder. The curtains began to move slowly outwards. Four seconds.. Three seconds. Chaz suddenly felt as if he was going to pee himself. Two seconds.. One..

And the time to take to stage was approaching. Raisu stood there, fresh make-up and all, still sour from his experience with the make-up crew. At least soon enough it would be over. They'd probably last all of a minute out there. And that was his generous estimate. What would the crowd do when they were fond out? Throw things at them? Raisu peeked around and cast a searching eye over the crowd. Merchandise everywhere. Certainly a popular band. At least it was a charity event, and the money wouldn't go completely to waste.
And just where the Hell was the real band anyway? Was there even a real band? Or was this some strange dream Raisu was trapped in. If it was that, what had he eaten to skew his mind in such a way? Probably something he found in the wild. Maybe he hadn't cooked that last fish all the way through.
He pinched himself. Pain shot up his arm in response. No, definitely real. How did the other two feel about this? Not that they had any choice in the matter now either. The time to go on was closing in rapidly. The two boys were having a back and forth, or so it seemed. Raisu hadn't been paying attention. Lost in thought, he had been. And further more, something was still off about this whole thing.
Chaz asked if they were ready.
"As I'll ever be," Raisu responded.
Mere seconds were all that separated them from the stage.

The curtain finally opened. The crowd’s screeches echoed throughout the entire stage, literally sounding as if a bomb went off inside of Chaz’s eardrum. Ibby clasped his little paws over his eyes, pulling them down around his face. Chaz gazed around the stage. All of the girls were slapping their hands against the front of the stage, cheering and screaming their names. They were going absolutely bonkers. He began walking towards the acoustic guitar until the crowd went almost completely silent. Was that not supposed to be his instrument..? He went towards the drums; Even more silence. Finally, he reached the bass guitar. The crowd roared again. His heart rose back up in his chest. He nearly blew it for all three of them. Now it was only up to the other two to find their right instruments. Chaz slung the guitar strap around his neck, securing the instrument to his chest.
Ibby shrugged his shoulders and grabbed for the acoustic guitar. The crowd went silent. Ahh, so he was supposed to be playing the drums! He finally came to the conclusion that the drums were his instrument to play. The young red feline positioned himself on the stool. That left the acoustic guitar for Raisu. The funny thing was though; they all had microphones. All three of them. Were they all supposed to sing at once? One song at a time for each of them? All of them jumping in on the same song? What were they supposed to do? This was so nerve racking. One wrong move and it would all be over.
Chaz closed his eyes for a moment. This was one of the most scariest moments he’s ever experienced in his entire life. He’s winged other things in his life before, right? How could this be any different? It really wasn’t, except for a couple weird things. One, the managers and all of the security guards were completely gone. Just gone. Nowhere in sight, not even backstage. Where the HELL did they go?! The other problem… When Chaz opened his eyes, all the way at the back of the crowd, he could see that girl. She was violently shaking her head back and forth, staring at Chaz any chance she could get. Then she stopped. She looked straight at Ibby. Chaz could see the fear in Ibby’s eyes. What was more important at the moment was the fact that Ibby could see her now! Her eyes then gazed towards Raisu. She lifted her arm, pointing it straight at him. At that exact moment, large explosions erupted from underneath the stadium, sending Chaz and Ibby flying into the air.

And finally the curtain flew back, revealing the trio to the adoring crowd. How much longer Raisu and company would hold the crowd’s adoration, well, time would tell. Time would tell very soon indeed. The crowd screeched like banshees as they took to the stage, incredibly happy and fangirling banshees. What a rude awakening they would be in for. In his mind’s eye, he could already see it: delight turning to rage, and squeals of joy turning to cries for blood. His blood, his cocktail of Saiyan and Human blood. Not that it would be the first time somebody had demanded it, especially considering the recent going ons. Yes, the Saiyan Invasion, the very cause of this charity concert, has been the source of such calls. Raisu shuddered to think what would happen if his tail were to be revealed in this moment. It would only be fuel for the fires of hate.
Chaz took the lead, walking out onto the stage. It was like a game of musical chairs, but with instruments. Raisu watched him and watched the crowd. First Chaz had tried the acoustic guitar and the crowd went silent. Clearly not his instrument, if their reaction was any indication. Off to a great start, thought Raisu. He could imagine the lynch mob forming already. Were those torches he smelled? Tar and feathers? It was as if some otherworldly presence had draped a noose around his neck. They really should have done their research, on the very basics of what they’d be doing. And why couldn’t they have been so lucky as to have been mistaken for a band that was all electronic and lip synced? Nothing ever went his way.
Chaz tried the drums next. Raisu said a quick prayer to whatever gods there were, hoping that this would be the right instrument. Please, he mentally begged. But the forces that be were cruel, or at least had other plans in mind. The crowd remained silent. Such bad luck. Raisu cursed under his breath, damning it all to Hell. Why could nothing ever go their way? Or rather, Raisu’s way? Was their some more powerful being that wanted to see Raisu squirm in whatever situation he was put into? Or was he cursed, marked at birth by an unlucky star? Dumb luck, more than likely. Very dumb luck indeed. The kind of luck that could only come with crossing three black cats. And finally, Chaz took to the bass guitar. Now this set the crowd to screaming, thank Kami. With any luck, the crowd would think it had just been a joke. Not that it would matter here in a moment. The facade would fall apart as soon as they were supposed to go into the first song.
Ibby, the catfolk, took to the stage next. He too tried to take to the acoustic guitar, but the crowd responded only with silence. Damn it, thought Raisu. Probability was not on their side, even when the field had been narrowed to a fifty-fifty chance. That left Ibby to the drums. The crowd went wild as he took his seat at them.
At least Raisu could not fail here. All that was left was the acoustic guitar. Funnily enough, it was the only instrument he’d actually held before. Not that he played, but he could say that he had, in fact, strummed an acoustic guitar once before. Perhaps they might just pull this off.
Is what he would think if he was truly insane. What was he going to do? Strum throughout the entire show? Music might soothe the savage beast, but what Raisu could do barely counted as music. In fact, it was just noise. Stringy, silly noise. He’d make a valiant attempt for sure. The crowd’s cheering continued, beckoning him to step on stage. With a sign, he finally stepped into the light, striding for the acoustic guitar. Time seemed to slow all around him as he did. Something felt wrong. There was something in the air that set Raisu on edge. It was probably stage fright. His mind went back to his past: one time in school, he’d been forced to present in front of the class. How nervous he had been, his face redder than his hair. A boy, who had been much larger than Raisu, had laughed at him for it, mocking his fear. Raisu had shown him, though. Punched him in the gut and left him wheezing in the hallway after. Dark times for him, but he’d lived by impulse back then. Hell, he still did. He just had better anger control.
His hands wrapped around the neck of the guitar and he lifted the strap over his neck. The crowd cheered, just as they had done before. Poor folks, he thought. They didn’t know what was about to hit them. Raisu cast his eyes all around, looking at the crowd, at Chaz, at Ibby. But there was something missing, something intergral to the scene.
Security. Where was security? They’d been all over them like white on rice moments ago. Now, it was as if they had disappeared into thin air. Had the concert become a vanishing act, or was he just imagining things? He’d been to a concert before. Several, in fact. And while he had to admit he’d never paid security much mind, he never seemed to recall them just leaving all together. Of course, he’d never been on the other side of it. What did he know? Perhaps this was the standard.
And then the whole world went crazy, throwing any semblance of standard out the window. A deep rumbling came from beneath the stage. Earthquake? No. The stage was torn asunder, heat and gas being thrown about like a maelstrom. Explosions!
Raisu was tossed into the air, the hot air blasting his body from every which angle. He closed his eyes and focused, channeling his ki. The now familiar sensation enveloped him. He was flying in the air above where the stage had once stood. What in Kami’s name? His mind reached out, pinging off a hundred little ki signatures. And two much larger, familiar ones: Chaz and Ibby. At least they were alive. For now.

The stage exploded. How unexpected could that have been? The more important question.. Who did it? Why did they do it? And the people.. The fans. All of the fans who were near the stage.. were they dead? Chaz lifted a large piece of rubble off of his chest, closing his eyes for a brief moment. He began to use his Ki Sense abilities, pinging off of all the tiny little ki signatures. To his right was Ibby. He was still alive, and hopefully conscious. Up above him was Raisu. Thank Kami he was still alive. Chaz had come to take a liking to Raisu over their escapades, and he didn’t want to be the cause of his death. After all, everything here was his fault. He pressured them into doing the gig, and it all led to this. Innocent people dying, Ibby was hurt. Hopefully Raisu was alright. Chaz stood, brushing all of the dusty debris from his vest. Ibby rose from his place as well. They looked into the sky to see a black figure floating there. By the ki signature, it was Raisu. When the hell did he learn how to fly? In such a short amount of time, too. Very impressive! But then.. other ki signatures arrived. They felt almost.. evil in nature. Almost.. demonic. Like Chaz could even see them through the smoke. They just radiated a thick, black gooey substance. It was like these people crawled out from the depths of hell itself. “Chaz.. Ibexe.. Raisu! Ooh-oho-oho! How we’ve longed for this moment..! Your heads are worth a pretty Zeni in accordance to particular Saiyans..” “It took us quite a long time to track you boys down. To get you all in one place, I mean.. You’re skittish boys. Luckily, dumb-ass Chaz over here played you all right into the palms of our hands. You guys are a fun bunch! I really wish we could keep you alive.. y’know.. turn you into some of us. But, like my partner said.. You’re worth a whole lot more money to someone else.”
Raisu Opponent
Chaz Opponent
Chaz clenched his fists. He fucked all of this up. He led everyone to their imminent death. How could he have been so stupid? How could he have not seen this coming? What with letting those Saiyans live and all. Saiyans are almost always full of pride! Of course they’d want revenge! All he could really think about when he bribed Ibby and Raisu into doing this was having some fun. But fun was way passed the line now. He got them stuck in a situation where they could possibly die. How the hell was he supposed to feel? “Guys.. I’m sorry.” One of the individuals reached down to his hips, removing two bladed-knuckle duster like weapons. He cracked them together, heading straight for Chaz and Ibby. The other bestial person floated up into the air, going to confront Raisu himself. Chaz wasn’t a pushover. Even though he felt bad about getting them into this predicament, he was gonna get them out. He clenched his fists tightly, rings of white ki forming around his body, orbiting around his figure. “Don’t touch them!”

Raisu looked down as the dust and debris cleared. His eyes came across the duo. Thankfully, they were all in one piece. Of course they were, thought Raisu. They were more than human. He’d felt their strength himself. It would take more than that to put them down, he knew that much. It would surprise you what people could do when they were a little stronger than normal. Their power made them significantly more durable, which was nice. Made adventuring a lot easier when he didn’t have to worry about a fall from a tree killing him.
The two of them were shifting below, recovering from the blast. A little dirty, but they’d get over it. But what of the crowd? Were they okay? Raisu cast his eyes over them and his mind. Thankfully, they were. That meant Raisu could spend his time getting to the bottom of this.
“Alright, everyone clear out!” He shouted to the crowd. Hopefully they had the sense to listen. Anybody could tell you that being in a live blast zone was a poor choice for the average person. If Raisu were lucky, it would just have been a boiler or something. There were tons of mundane things that could set off an explosion. If luck were indifferent to him, perhaps he’d accidentally gotten in the way of a mundane assassination attempt, meant for the real band. If so, well, it was not the assassins lucky day. Poor assassin, if that were the case. Not only would he have failed, he’d now have one pissed off half Saiyan who was ready to, quite literally, go ape on him.
And if Raisu were unlucky, as was often the case, he was in for something much worse. A Saiyan straggler attack, perhaps. And at a charity event, too. How terrible. If that were truly the case, he’d make them pay. Attacking civilians was low. Real low. And perhaps it was almost Raisu’s fault if they were here. He’d not bothered to hide his ki. Stupid of him, really. That’d gone poorly for him before. He should know better by now.
And then it became obvious. Two ki signatures brushed off his mind. Big ones, ones he didn’t recognize. And battle ready ones, too. Oh boy, he thought, this would be fun. Raisu searched with his mind now. And then he saw them. Two red creatures, one in battle armor. Both particularly ugly looking. Rather punchable faces, actually.
Apparently, they were bounty hunters of some sort. Assassins, maybe. Well, he’d been right about the assassin part. Just not the mundane part of it. According to the assassins, they were worth a lot of money to some Saiyans. Raisu’s mind flashed back to the red-haired Saiyan he’d fought in South Capitol and he sighed. Mercy would be his undoing, indeed. Though, some small part of him was proud he was worth that much. It was a good feeling knowing that he’d trounced an opponent so thoroughly that they had stooped to sending hired guns after him.
And so the assassins had set a trap, appealing to Chad’s excitable nature. Raisu shook his head, but felt almost vindicated. He’d known it had been a bad idea. And he’d felt something was wrong in the air. In his mind, he was one for one. Always trust your instincts. That’s what he’d been told. And it paid off for him. And now, his instincts were telling him to shove his fist through the hitmens’ skulls. Pride demanded he did. Here he was, targeted by two ugly looking fools, who had the gall to insinuate they would kill him. Why, Raisu was downright offended. The Saiyan blood in his veins had come alive. And Chaz said he was sorry.
“Hey, don’t be,” he shouted down, “We’ll take care of this easily. And remember: you owe me.”
It seemed the assassins had a plan. The one in the armor floated up to confront Raisu. Man, was he ugly. Raisu would take real pleasure in beating him down.
“So, ugly, you’re gonna step to me?” Asked Raisu.
The demonic looking being only smirked. Not much of a talker now, was he? Maybe he just didn’t want to waste the words on somebody he thought would be dead in a few minutes. Well, the tentacled creature was in for a surprise.
They flew at each other, the sudden speed of it all sending a crack through the air. They bounced off each other in the air, once, twice, just testing each other. The alien would be a good match for Raisu, at least with Raisu wearing the ever present weights on his ankles and wrists.
“So, what did the Saiyan say about me?” Asked Raisu, as they came together in a flurry of blows.
This time, the hitman spoke in between his own punches, “Said you were kinda strong. But lemme tell you, I’m stronger.”
“Good, just what I wanted to hear,” said Raisu, with all the confidence in the world.
This would be a good fight, or at least a good workout for the day. The aliens fist collided with Raisu’ jaw and set his ears to wringing. He grinned through and answered with a swift kick to the alien’s chest. Yes, it would most definitely be.
He looked below quickly, just barely tearing his eyes from his foe. There was Chaz, charging up, his energy roaring like some sort of waterfall. Guy has potential, thought Raisu. Maybe they could do some training together sometime.
Satisfied with what he saw, he turned his eyes back on his opponent, though he didn’t want to. His foe was about as pleasing to look at as a cow turd. Maybe even less so. Raisu’s blows could only improve the red one’s looks. It was funny. All his foes seemed to be red these days. Red skin, red hair, it never changed. Maybe red attracted red, he thought thinking of his own hair.

As the two beasts (In their own rights) battled in the air, the least ugliest individual approached Chaz and Ibby. With a wicked, blood-stained smiled, he twirled the bladed knuckledusters around his fingers, emerald green eyes fixated on the Delicious Duo. It truly was a scary sight to behold. Looking into this guys eyes was like a trip to hell in and of itself. Him and his partner were the definition of ‘demon’. Whenever Chaz had to think of what a demon could or would look like, these guys were it. They were absolutely terrifying. It was unlike anything Chaz and Ibby had ever witnessed before. Despite their ugly appearance, it also brought along fear. They must’ve crawled straight out of hell itself to get here.
While Chaz and Ibby sat in fear, they could hear Raisu taking care of business up above. It more or less sounded like this guy was giving Raisu a run for his money, but something’ was off. Chaz KNEW Raisu was way more powerful than either of these guys. Probably both of them combined. Why was he having such a hard time? Y’know, maybe Raisu was just testing him? Maybe that’s all it was. Chaz did drag him into this mess, the least he could do was have a little fun.
Something was a bit “off” on Chaz’s end, too. Something with his opponent. Why wasn’t he being pressed against the ground? Why wasn’t he feeling an enormous amount of ki surging from this thing? In fact, this dude felt like a bug compared to Chaz. What the hell was going on? If he was supposed to be some type of mercenary, why did he feel so weak? Was he suppressing his power? If that was the case, this guy sure was an arrogant one. That gave Chaz a chance to strike, though. Hit him quick and hard before he can even get a shot off.
“Chaz and Ibexe! You two are more than I could have ever hoped for! It’s going to be so much fun licking YOUR blood off of my bl-”
Using his Zanzoken technique, Chaz left behind a very sloppy version of himself. He loved using that technique so much! In a split second, he appeared in front of the monster, slamming his fist into the top of his red cranium. The force from his punch literally caused the demon’s eyes to bulge from his sockets, streams of saliva and snot emitting from his orifices. His two knuckle blades spun through the air, only to be caught and worn by none other than Chaz himself. He lifted them in the air, allowing the sun to glint off of their shiny metallic coat.
“These are really nice! Mind if I use em?”
Bringing his arms up in an x-shape across his chest, Chaz swung them downwards, using the long blades on the ends to slash the demon. Blood splattered from the letter-shaped gash, spurting across Chaz’s faced. It wasn’t something he was proud of, but damn did it feel good. He had handled weapons before, small swords when he was a child. He knew the difference between slashing up someone good, and slashing them with the intent on killing them. He only slashed this piece of trash good enough to let him know that he meant business. “I really like these things!”

The two slammed together once again, tangling like cats. He was having fun with it, even as the demon wrapped its clawed hands around Raisu’s throat. The demon squeezed his windpipe, trying to choke the very life from him. His foe had some damn strong hands, or were they damned strong hands, Raisu would give him that much. Raisu’s own hands shot to his foe’s wrists, trying to pull them away. His foe’s grip was like iron, unyielding and cold. The air in Raisu’s lungs became scarce. Well, this was not going the way he had imagined. Hopefully his friends below were having more luck than him.
Raisu reared back and slammed his head into the assassin’s. The two skulls collided, hard bones knocking against one another with a dull thud. There was a ringing in his ears now, but it was worth it: the demon’s grip relinquished.
“I think I need to start wearing a helmet everywhere I go…”
Raisu mumbled to himself in the one free moment he had. But it was only a moment and the demon was at him again, throwing wild punches left and right. And Raisu met him, his own fists just as furious. The battle was starting to heat up now, at least a bit. If it weren’t for the weights, Raisu would have piledrived the creature back into the ugly hole it came from by now. Didn’t matter. Raisu liked having the handicap. It actually made things interesting.
Raisu sent a low kick flying at the creature’s knee. Foot met joint and a sharp cracking sound filled the air. The creature screeched, a raw, bestial sound. It’s hand clawed at Raisu, faster than he could even see, faster than his own hands could move to block the blows. He felt a claw slice against his chest, and when he looked down, there was a slash in his shirt and dark red blood blossoming through.
Raisu’s eyes narrowed. Dammit, he thought, he had just bought this shirt. And now it was ruined. What did this guy think Raisu was? Made of money? Shirts didn’t grow on trees.
“Asshole!” He screamed at the demon. “I’m going to make a new shirt out of your hide!”
He didn’t mean it, of course. But he was angry. Very angry, and it seemed the right thing to say in the moment. More than likely, Raisu would just leave him buried in the rubble somewhere. Everyone deserved a second lease on life. Even the assholes who ruined his shirt and came to claim a price on his head.
Raisu’s hands shot to the demon’s head, wrapping them around his skull. The anger is him burst, and he squeezed at the demon's head, just before flying up even further in the air. Raisu screamed in rage as his height and speed reached their zenith. And then he grinned a little, as he turned upside down, the demon’s body in front of him. He sped towards the ground, the demon struggling in futility. And with the force of a speeding train, the two of them slammed into the ground, debris and dust flying in every which direction.
It didn’t kill the demon hitman. Quite the contrary, actually. The demon was still alive as ever, and even more enraged now. The two of them fought tooth and nail in the the crater Raisu’s divebomb had made. Yes, this fight was just getting started.

Chaz twirled his new weapons around on his fingers, smiling as the blade caught the sunlight. The rays of sun danced across the thick red liquid that dribbled to the point. It was a little sickening, to tell the truth. Chaz had never really been this close to anyone else's blood but his own. There was that Saiyan’s back in South City, but he never really.. touched it. This blood was splattered across his cheeks and nose, and even his lips a little bit. Using his vest, he ran the fabric across the edges of his knuckle-blades, cleaning off the remnant blood. These blades were pretty cool, in his own rightful opinion. They fit his fighting style as well. These would definitely aid him in battle against other opponents who possessed some sort of weaponry. Clashing against a sword head-on with only your fist was not the way he wanted to go. But meeting one with these bad boys? Hell yeah.
The demon lie in a very small indent in whatever was left of the metal stage. Most of his teeth were missing, strewn across the stadium, all of them covered in blood. His eyes were like sacks of salt, just idly resting outside of their sockets. It was quite funny. Even though he wasn’t dead, he looked absolutely silly. Chaz wanted to burst out laughing, but more important matters needed his attention. He never got a clear reading on this other demon’s power, so he had no idea if Raisu would truly be able to handle himself on this one. From what he COULD sense, they were going head-to-head, neck and neck. It was a battle of the equals. This was something Chaz didn’t get to do often; Just watch a fight. He’s either always been in one himself, or away from all of the action entirely because of injuries. Chaz just wanted to watch. Of course, if Raisu had been in any sort of situation where he could die, Chaz would jump in and save help him out in a heartbeat. They were friends, afterall. In fact, Chaz had a huge ass amount of respect for Raisu. The red-haired hybrid saved not only his life, but Ibby’s life too, back during their battle against Saiyans in South City. Saving Ibby alone is something Chaz could never repay, and to him, he was forever in Raisu’s debt.
Raisu seemed like quite the humble guy, though. He probably wouldn’t accept payment of any kind even if Chaz offered it. On the other hand, he could be extremely greedy and take whatever Chaz offered. He had faith in his red-haired friend, though.
The battle in the air only became more and more intense. They were battling tooth-and-nail, each determined to take the other down. While Chaz was focused on the battle above, he didn’t even notice what was going on behind him until Ibby called for help. When he turned, it was a sight he never ever wanted to see. The demon, who he thought he had defeated prior, was up walking around again. He had Ibby by the throat, holding him in the air. His other hand has a radiant blade of black ki, ready to impale the small red feline at a moment's notice. “Chaz-kun…!”
As silent as a leaf floating to the ground, Chaz appeared behind the demon. His arms were out to his sides, the knuckle-blades clutched tightly in his fists. The blades were once again dripping fresh blood. It was as if time had stopped. No one moved, not even the demon. There was a look of agony upon the creature’s face, but his body did not move. Instead, a small incision opened up around his neck, and his head slid off of his shoulders, smacking against the ground. A fountain of blood shot up from the man’s now decapitated body. Dropping to it’s knees, the lifeless corpse fell to the stadium floor. Ibby was released shortly after. He slowly crawled against a piece of the rubble, terror-filled eyes fixated on Chaz. Ibexe, for the first time, had witnessed his brother mercilessly kill another being. Chaz, for the first time, killed another being.
Before the two of them could converse on what the hell had just transpired, a stadium broke apart again. There was a loud thud behind them, kicking up all sorts of smoke and dust. Both of them looked to make out a very large crater right smack dab in the middle. From the small shockwaves being emitted, they both could tell that Raisu and his opponent were still in there battling. Chaz ran to the edge of the inverted dome, holding his blades tightly. “Kick his ass!”
Ibby was completely distraught. How could Chaz have just killed someone in front of him without batting an eyelash, then going back about his merry way? For now, Ibexe preferred to stay far away from the action.

Raisu’s brow furrowed. In his mind, he felt a presence flit away from existence, like a candle’s flame being snuffed out by a hand. Panic ran through his mind; Was it was one of his friends? Raisu was prepared to flip out if that were the case. But no, it wasn’t. The signature that had been silenced was foreign to him. One of the hitman, he thought. So, Chaz had finished his opponent already. Impressive. And he’d killed his assailant as well. Interesting. Raisu didn’t think that the blond would have had it in him. Raisu certainly didn’t have it in him to kill someone else. But, the world was full of surprises. Or perhaps the death had been accidental. He’d heard of fights getting out of hand before. That seemed likely, actually. It was hard to control yourself and know boundaries when you were quite literally fighting for your own life.
Like Raisu was now. Luckily, Raisu had a handicap in the form of his weights. There’d be no accidental killing here. Or perhaps unluckily, depending on how one looked at it. Because now, the demon was on top of him, driving fist after fist into his chest. What was that noise he’d just heard? Was that a rib cracking, or just his imagination? He couldn’t rightfully tell. The adrenaline dulled his body, letting it focus on one thing: the absolute beatdown of this monster. He’d have to get to that soon. Perhaps taking the fight to the crater wasn’t the smartest. Not a whole lot of room down here. Made the whole punching and kicking thing a little hard. Live and learn, he supposed. Hopefully he could keep the whole ‘live’ part going. Hard to do the latter when the former is all out of whack.
Apparently, the demon had enough of the crater as well. The demon lifted Raisu overhead and sent an uppercut straight into Raisu’s abdomen. The wind shot from his lungs as his body flew through the air. His stomach heaved, but there was no food in it to vomit up. Perhaps that was the silver lining: he’d been dragged away before he could eat. Certainly made fighting that much either. Thinking about it, they hadn’t actually left all that long ago. His food might actually be done. Perhaps he could fly back and actually enjoy his meal after all this. But for now, he had bigger problems. Like the demon hurtling through the air at him at the damn speed of sound, coming up for a follow up attack.
Raisu tightened his muscles and could feel his body bursting with energy. Wait for it, he told himself as the demonic assassin approached with harmful intent. Though it happened within a mere second, it seemed to be stretched out over an eternity. The demon flew above him, fists held high like a hammer. His body was ready as the demon swung. With a burst of speed, he moved like lightning, leaving a still image of himself behind. The demon’s arm swung through the image, dispelling it like mist.
And that was Raisu’s opportunity to strike: he floated behind the demon, taking this brief moment to gather crackling energy in the palm of his hand. His hand shone with brilliant white light, ready to burst. Hold it, he told himself. Raisu had to hold the beam. The longer he did, the more force it’d launch with. And the more force, the harder he could hit the damned thing.
The demon started to, and the second Raisu saw the creature’s confused eyes, he let his Starlight Beam fly. The beam burst like a bomb from his hand, closing the small gap between them as if it were nothing, The demon screeched as the white light plowed into his lower body. And, to his credit, he managed to resist for just a moment before the beam sent him spiraling away from Raisu. The demon flew across the way, crashing into the ground with the beam driving him onward. That had to hurt.
And the beam stopped, Raisu cutting off the energy. His mind flickered to the demon that laid broken on the ground: alive, but he wasn’t getting up any time soon. Good, Raisu thought. Serves him right. Raisu descended to the ground, floating towards Chaz as he did. So, he’d come to watch the fight, Raisu thought as he saw him on the edge of the crater.
“So, I take it you took care of your’s?”

The dust had cleared enough for the Delicious Duo to witness the epic battle that was taking place. Two spirits, one good, one evil, hell bent on winning this fight going at it. What a sight to behold, thought Chaz! It truly was! Besides fighting himself or eating, watching a good battle was almost as exhilarating! Now, Chaz could sense this things power. The guy fighting Raisu was strong, he was! Way tougher than Chaz himself. Would that have stopped Chaz from taking them both on by himself? Hell no. But he had the balls to admit that this guy was stronger. The only thing he couldn’t admit was the fact that he would be completely outclassed in every single way, shape and form by this guy and even Raisu. The red-headed hybrid was terribly strong compared to Chaz. Boy was he glad that they were friends!
Before long, Raisu was beginning to charge up some type of ki-blast. He released the attack, allowing it to explode forth from his palm like a freaking grenade. It was unlike anything Chaz had ever seen before in his life. The attack was strong enough to completely immobilize the demon and send him crashing into the ground! Everyone but Chaz seemed to have some type of special attack that they used during battle. Was it a superhero thing? If so, Chaz wanted to be one! He wanted his own special move. Like, really badly. He just had no idea on how to even go about creating one.
“S-s-suuukkeeee!” Chaz’s eyes turned into sparkles as he admired Raisu’s dominant display. “I wanna use something like that! That is the COOLEST thing I have ever seen! Dude, dude! How did you learn that? That is freakin’ awesome!” It truly was. Chaz had never been more amazed in his life. And Raisu was carefree as ever about it, indicating that this wasn’t something new. Raisu hadn’t come up with this move on the spot. Did he already have it mastered?
The red-headed hybrid lowered to the ground, carefree as ever. Or so it seemed. He completely destroyed the little demon wannabe. Before Chaz could get an answer off, police sirens bounded off in the background. A plethora of law enforcement had arrived on the scene. Someone had called the cops, and rightfully so. Police these days had no honor in them. Surely all three of them would be blamed for this whole fiasco.
Chaz looked from the cops, to Ibby, to Raisu. “You said I owe you one, right? Get out of here! I’ll take the blame for this! Ibby, you go too.” Chaz’s eyes began to twitch. He was gonna say and do something he never did often, and did not like to do at all. “Thank you. You really saved our b-butts.. So let me save you! I can hold these punks off!” At this point, Chaz was ready for anything. He was ready to fight, or be captured. Ibby stood next to Chaz, stuffing his little hands into his vest. “He’s right, Raisu. We owe you a hell of a lot, so get going! Hurry!” “Ibby, you need to go-” “No, Chaz-kun! We are in this together, whether you like it or not. If you are going to prison, I am going to prison. If you’re fighting these guys off until your last breath, then so am I! We made a pact. Until we find Ruby’s Salvation, there is no separating us.” Ibby was right. They made a pact to always stick together until they achieved their dream. Chaz smiled, facing away from Raisu and towards the law. He held his arm out, giving Raisu a thumbs up. “Go!”

Chaz seemed awfully impressed by the Starlight Beam. Raisu grinned, and shrugged. He took some pride in that. It was the centerpiece of his arsenal. It had served him well, in most cases, and this time was no exception. The hitman would feel that in the morning, that was for sure. But hey, at least he’d live to see morning. That was more than his buddy could say. Not that his buddy would be saying anything ever again. Chaz had done a number on him. Raisu had to admit, killing put a bad taste in his mouth. But it wasn’t his fight that had resulted in a death. Nothing he could have done would have prevented it. Though he regretted death, it just wasn’t his problem. Though, Raisu had to wonder what effect it was having on Chaz’s mind. Or what effect it would have. Sometimes things took a little while to sink in.
“Just something I came up with awhile back, man,” Raisu said in reference to Chaz’s compliments.
Thinking about it Chaz almost reminded Raisu of himself when he was younger, even if they were roughly the same age. Just something about the enthusiasm made his mind go back years and years to that time he’d first seen Tsu Kini snuff a candle with a tiny ki ball. Funny how he thought of that now, after he’d just gotten done wrestling with a demonic assassin. The adrenaline had a weird way of effect his mind. Maybe it was the Saiyan blood in his veins.
And, as if by fate, law enforcement swarmed the scene. Just perfect, thought Raisu. This is what he’d been hoping for. Well, not really. But it would make for a decent exit. Which is actually what he’d been hoping for. This would make a fine ending to the afternoon. Crashed a concert, only to be assaulted by super powered hitmen? Yes, he could make a fine story out of this later. Something to impress the ladies later on. Maybe embellish the part about the make-up.
Chaz seemed happy to take the fall for this one. Raisu raised an eyebrow at this. Couldn’t they fly? Sucks to suck, he thought. It was really a useful skill. Maybe he’d show ‘em how to do it sometime. Nobody should have to go without flying.
“Well, if you say so. I’ll catch you two later!”
And with that, Raisu burst into the air, flying high above the concert’s stage. What a fun time that had been. Raisu twisted and turned in air, letting the winds take him as they pleased. Should he return for his food? No, he decided. For once, he let his better judgement take him. Who knew what might be waiting for him there? With his luck, a demonic chef waiting to poison him. No, for now, he flew to the horizon. Perhaps he’d find something else to catch his fancy today.
(Thread exit, PL please. Heavy weights on. Thanks for the thread, Chaz!)
