HISTORY |
The youngest child of three, born into the Arcosian upper class, and almost royalty, a lot was expected of Defrosch. His father; a stern Arcosian Knight by the name of Sleete, was incredibly strict and was obnoxiously overbearing, giving his children harsh tasks, training them as often as possible in the art of combat. His mother; P'thermia, another Arcosian Knight was unfortunately hardly around their home, as she was in a higher position of power. However, unlike Sleete, she was more respectful with the young ones when she was around- but not by much- which gave the kids an excuse to relax a bit more...
Nor'Poel was the oldest of the three and was almost the spitting image of their father, confident, commanding and most importantly; vicious. Nor'Poel showed the most interest in their father's position and level of command, striving to be as much like him as possible.
Hayll, the middle child, wasn't at all serious. A troublemaker at heart, loud, boisterous and funny. Where Nor'Poel's power came through intimidation Hayll's came from an energetic, and shamelessly silly personality.
Then there was the youngest...
Even though most Arcosians are born with naturally high power- Defrosch was rather... Lacking in strength, if he was to be compared to others. As a result of his inherent 'wimpyness', Defrosch was made fun of by pretty much every other Arcosian. Interestingly enough at the same time, Defrosch was quicker to master the suppression of his natural power. Defrosch was the more quiet and reserved of the three, unlike Nor'Poel; who strived for power and Hayll who was so courageous- Defrosch had an eye for detail, he was analytical, smarter- Wiser.
To Defrosch, his father's teaching methods produced little to no results- it was too violent, too harsh and too wild for him, though they followed a formula, there was little heart or soul put into it, and for some reason this bothered Defrosch endlessly. In the meanwhile his siblings thrived in that environment.
In his free time, even as a youngling around 7 years old, Defrosch would escape into the wilds of Arcose, to train on his own, yet understandably not straying too far. Having such a low power level made these outings easier and he dare not even take any equipment from his home, should anyone notice it, along with him to have mysteriously gone missing, but the truth is... They never did. They were too wrapped up in their own agendas to notice Defrosch had gone off on his own.
Defrosch resented his father, and to an extent his family for not respecting him and his efforts, but he made it work in his favor.
As he trained and grew stronger- he had to be faster and more alert and aware of his surroundings to not be noticed. It was in his younger years, doing his secret training that he learned to sense the energies of others without a scouter and to dart and weave around cover, moving quickly and catch up to his siblings in his own unique way. His father assumed, like the egocentric man he was, that it was in fact his strict training regimen that allowed Defrosch to grow at a more 'pleasing rate'.
As he grew, he showed more signs of independence that Nor'Poel and Hayll did not... Which caught the attention of his father.
One night, at the age of 14, Defrosch went out to train and his father followed him, leaving Nor'Poel and Hayll in their mother's care.
What Defrosch didn't know, is that his father had the ability to mask his own Ki, so that even Defrosch couldn't detect him, but one slip up changed everything...
Defrosch decided that on that night he would go and examine a crater that he found, which contained a tonne of spacepods, the majority of which were broken, frozen over or just left in disrepair. His father, however, accidentally activated one of these space pods, causing it to malfunction and fall apart. Defrosch noticed this and turned to face his old man Sleete... A heated argument broke out, escalating into a fight. Defrosch fought for Independence, but Steel wanted dominion over his kin. While impressed that Defrosch was crafty enough in his own right, Sleete took it far too personally.
Defrosch was on the ropes, completely overpowered by his father, but he had one advantage over Sleete; he could use the environment more effectively as it was his training grounds, where his father's was an Arcosian Knight barracks. Even though he was far stronger, his ego would get the best of him.
In a desperate attempt to escape, Defrosch shot a barrage of Ki blasts into the ice, obscuring vision, allowing Defrosch to get into a spacepod... As luck would have it, this one wasn't as badly damaged and still had a good few uses left. It activated and lifted off into the air, just in time to avoid a big Ki wave from his father's tail.
Defrosch didn't exactly know how to work this space pod, but he knew one thing- he wanted to leave. He wanted freedom, true, unchained freedom. As his father was about to fly after him, Defrosch slammed on the keypad in the spacepod, locking in co-ordinates as far away as he could punch in... His father shot wave after wave in rage at the moving spacepod, but it was too fast for him to shoot down.
Defrosch was free, he had achieved true peace and quiet for once, without the fear of someone breathing down his neck. Eventually, Defrosch would land on a curious 'backwater planet' in the Sol system, far away from Arcose space, only just past Namek.
This planet was Earth.
Defrosch was exposed to newer biomes and environments. As a result he modified his Arcosian Bio-armor to blend in better. He generally kept away from the cities, more often venturing into smaller towns just to get an idea as to what is going on, but he mostly kept to himself in the Western Frontiers, continuing his training- and in this environment, using the canyons and plateaus provided- learned how to utilize his Ki, thus enabling himself to fly. He developed something of a soft spot for the local wildlife, mostly the desert wolves and thus canines in general thereafter.
Two years later, he heard about an Arcosian that crash landed somewhere on Earth through a few rumors, but he decided to avoid the assumed crash site like the plague, fearing it might be his father finally finding him.
Thankfully, that wasn't the case.
He also grew fond of Earth's food and music, things that weren't exactly prevalent in Arcosian culture. Only recently, at the age of 21 has he decided to observe what other things Earth has to offer, such as martial arts to further his training... So that if anyone ever did come after him, he would be ready.
