OOC: The text below is copied / pasted from my history in my application for Nemo. No, I'm doing this to squeeze double pl from the same text. It is just that I'm aware that the set up of spoilers to hide/organize information I used in my application might make it a bit tricky for the admins/mods to count the words in it, so I'm posting it here to make it easier to perform a word count. This may also serve as a font of consult if the grader wants to refer to any information in my History section when evaluating my BP. My actual Beginner's Presentation begins in the post following this one, in this same thread.
Introduction
Nemo was born on age 2692 (108 years old) in New Namek as a prominent member of the Warrior Clan. He is the only son of Orten(Nemo's family puns are based of scientific names of snails, more specifically the Cepaea nemoralis and the Cepaea hortensis family of molusks) of the Warrior Clan, one of Guru's guardians. Since young age, Nemo trained hard to become a guardian of his people and through hard work and strict discipline, turned into a very powerful martial artist. His discipline and dedication called the attention of the Clan Master himself and as soon as Nemo reached adulthood, he began training under Master Malac (comes from the root of malacology, the study of mollusks) himself, being taught the legendary Special Beam Technique. Soon, Nemo managed to surpass his own father in terms of skills and power and was quoted as one of the most powerful namekians of his generation. For years to come, Nemo would protect the Guru and his fellow greenies from whatever evil would befall New Namek.
When he was 8 (remembering that namekians reach adulthood earlier than humans, with Piccolo maturing in merely 3 years, for example) he earned the honor of accompanying Master Malac to the 8th Centurial Conference held on Earth. He didn't participate in the tournment held before the political affairs, unlike Malac, but was given the chance to watch the most diverse types and levels of fighters as well as his own master in action. It was a great event and he fell in love with Earth's beautiful landscape at first sight. In a sense, it remembered him of New Namek a little bit. It was during the conference that he also met another figure of importance in his life: a Galactic Patrolman named Hamo (a pun of Hamo, which is a type of fish, following Jaco the Galactic Patrolman's pun themes).
The Galactic Patrol is a group of warriors under the the Cosmic Police Organization, that protects the universe from evil, serving literally as the space police, whose base has been in Mars since its foundation. It is comprised of only a handful of members, as it is very hard to become one (only a 55% chance) as they are very selective with their initiates. Because of the nature of the event, Hamo has been sent to Earth to stick around and help keeping the peace in case anything went wrong. He was there as an undercover agent and signed for the Tenkaichi Budokai as one of the contestants. He faced Master Malac during the tournment and lost (although he was actually holding back, in order to avoid calling attention). He became actually impressed with Malac's skills and befriended him in the fighters' hanging area. During their conversation, Malac spoke highly of his apprentice Nemo and eventually introduced the young namekian to the galactic patrolman. Hamo then invited Nemo to a spar saying he wanted to check if all that Malac said about him was true. Without Nemo knowing it back then, that was perhaps one of the most important fights of his life. Naturally, the namekian pupil lost, but that wasn't an actual competition: it was merely a friendly match. Both parties took leave and for another couple of years, they wouldn't see each other again.
After the 8th Centurial Conference, Nemo and Malac returned to New Namek and continued with their routine of training. Until one day, Hamo paid them both a visit on New Namek. It was then that Hamo revealed to Malac that he was actually an agent of the Galactic Patrol and was disguised in the conference in order to help keeping the peace. He was interested in recruiting Malac at first place, but knew he had a responsibility in New Namek, protecting the Guru and his folk. He then told Malac that he became really impressed with Nemo's focus and spirit during their spar, even though he was still at such a young age and expressed his will to bring Nemo with him to Mars, so he could train and study to try and become a galactic patrolman himself. Both Malac and Hamo met the young namekian warrior and after a second friendly spar (which resulted in Nemo getting beaten once again), the patrolmen revealed his identity and intentions, stating that Nemo got even better since the last time they met. At first, Nemo flinched, not out of fear, but because of his sense of duty to the Guru and the Warrior Clan. When he was shown that as a patrolman himself, he would still protect New Namek, along with all other planets that also needed help, any doubts vanished from his heart and with the blessings of his father, master and the Guru himself, he followed Malac into Planet Mars to begin his training in the Patrol.
In the incoming years, Nemo's life was really harsh. Not only he began to train even harder than when he was being tutored by Master Malac, but he had to study a lot. He had to learn many languages, many customs and a lot of history and science. I have to admit that although he is smart, he is not a genius level character and for a moment it seemed he wouldn't fit the standards of the organization due to the sheer ammount of knowledge he had to absorb over the years. Still, he walked an extra mile, lost nights of sleep and studied like a lunatic and managed to pass the final test and graduate as a patrolman. He quickly became known for his dedication and sense of duty, what weighted heavily towards his approval in the organization.
Now a member of the police, Nemo travelled through the universe for the incoming years. He met many worlds, many villains and his adventures literally gave him scars, which he made sure to preseve, as in his conception, they defined him and were part of his character and body as much as they were part of his experience. And then, decades later, he caught himself heading towards the blue planet after a whole century. It was time for the 9th Centurial Conference.
Tourney Troubles
Like Hamo in the first time they met, it was now incumbent upon Nemo that he would enter the Tenkaichi Budokai held before the 9th Centurial Conference disguised in order to supervise the event and join in to help in case anything bad happened. Once again he wouldn't be able to fight in the tournament. That is because the whole apezilla summed with HFIL-sent bastards onslaught happened before his match begins. Nemo quickly jumped into the battlefiled to try and help to contain the attackers, but was unfortunately blasted away by an oozaru's mouth blast, being hurled away for miles and losing consciousness during the process. He woke up days later in a forest amongst a tribe of humans that tended to his wounds and took care of him.
There are still a bit more to tell about Nemo's journey during the latter two episodes that unfolded in the history of WOD: Souls, although that will be better detailed as the scarred greenie’s story develops into the site. It is important to explain already how he inherited the title of Master of the Warrior Clan. It is very simple, actually. During the events of Galaxy in Turmoil, Vi-Poi destroyed New Namek (although Nemo is oblivious to the fact, since he is on Planet Earth). With the death of his master and apprentices in his home planet, that leaves him as the only living namekian who masters the Special Beam Cannon and Multi-Form techniques. Thus, by default, that makes him the current Master of the Warrior Clan. Even he is unaware of this fact.
