President Bao

A charismatic goof ball and macho man celebrity, Bao started off as a(n admittedly fabulous) traffic director... few could have rightfully expected that he'd soon enough be directing the entire affairs of planet Earth; but with enough pushups, reckless disregard for the qualities and diligence it actually takes to be a president, and a swagger-filled, somewhat ignorantly dismissive outlook on problems in life, he attained exactly that, and has managed to maintain it by a sound majority for the period when elections were actually undertaken, his natural charisma and celebrity status allowing him to bluff or smooth over any blunders caused by his own administration... such as the accidental abolishment of democratic election, which people still haven't quite gotten around to feeling particularly outraged about for some reason.

Bao is really not leadership material, the kind of man who'd laugh off immediate issues, karate-chopping a pile of papers and, after filing the top half in one cabinet and the bottom half in other, leap bare-chested out the glass window to attend to some 'very important business’ on the ground floor((usually little more than greeting a post man, or vigorously shaking the hand of an unsuspecting passer-by)).

His secretaries and administration are unsure whether to take his overbearing (yet somehow contagious) confidence in their ability to ‘handle things’ as reckless irresponsibility or a compliment, but regardless they have been able to pick up the slack, attending to the 'mundane' matters of... actual governance, and converting his often impulsive 'leadership' into something workable to implement... while doing their best to mitigate the collateral damages he leaves in his wake.

Boa is an impressive physical fighter - Unable to consciously control his own ki, he does not particularly believe in such 'tricks', seeing the legends and even demonstrations of energy techniques as nothing but fancy stage shows or impressive(but not 'magical' or 'super human') physical feats… despite the near-superhuman demonstrations he is known to unintentionally/obliviously display.

His martial arts inclination lead to an intermediate career as a stuntman, followed by becoming a movie star in his own right, which did little to disperse this misunderstanding of ki control all being nothing but tricks, carefully orchestrated showmanship, and pre-placed special effects. Indeed, he gained much of his celebrity status during martial arts matches in the Satan City Tournaments, defeating other martial artists(much to their astonishment) and 'debunking' their abilities with loud declarations of how unimpressed he was by their magician mumbo jumbo, praising instead the virtue of ‘true’(physical) martial arts of old.

Thanks perhaps to both this and a growing apathy towards the attainment of ki-based disciplines(a naturally difficult task that was never fully embraced by the entire population, even at it's peak interest several hundred years ago), the practice has largely fall back into a kind of secretive mysticism, known by some but otherwise isolated, and disbelieved by the ‘regular’ population (indeed agreeing that such things are surely technology or 'magic tricks' put on for show - like the presidents eyebrow: delightful and intriguing to behold, but certainly not ‘real’.)

The winds of change are in the air however - these peaceful, quite times are surely not destined to last much longer, and can a man like Bao really keep living up to his own persona when true challengers finally turn their attention to him, and the world he leads?

On rare occasions, obviously a shear coincidence,  Bao has been subjected to a concussive force and even sent flying with a loud bang. Truly perplexing.

> (all aboard the) Show-boat [SP]: (required to perform other techniques) It appears that show-boating is the only way some of Bao's greatest feats can be achieved. These shows of bravado seem to concentrate his ki(in much the same way that a conscious ki controller can), allowing him to perform impressive physical exploits. These can range from the absurd to the practical, but always require a pre-requisite amount of swagger to perform.
