They often say that every person has a purpose, a meaning to exist. Then what happens when a person loses sight of their purpose? In Reikiko’s opinion it made them an empty shell, and either they had to find a means to regain that what was lost, or wither away into the shadows of nothingness. For Reikiko the latter was an option she refused to accept, in the end even if her ideals and dreams were borrowed from others, she had accomplished too much to be able to just disappear into the shadows. The Homunculus had decided to proceed with an activity that was rather nostalgic to her: the thing known as training. Even if she had been forced to come to terms with the fact that she was not a goddess, and the knowledge that godhood was something out of reach even for her, Reikiko had decided to merely spend some time within the wastelands of the planet. Certainly, she could likely have found something more interesting in the capitol of Vegeta, but she lacked the patience and interest to venture into that area. Her presence had caused needless and unintentional tension, and ever since their arrival on the planet the people she cared for had gone on with their own business, leaving her to be haunted by her thoughts in solitude. She had asked Hikari to keep an eye out on Kaula, and distrustful of the Saiyan’s potential attempts to sabotage her ship she had requested for Alice to let the ship float somewhere in orbit, and alert her if anything or anyone came near it.
Perhaps it was for that reason that the usually so proud Homunculi looked so different from before. Her stylish garb was concealed under a long tattered traveler’s cloak that she had purchased from a merchant near the spaceport and her power level had been kept at a stable level that was a little above two hundred thousand. At least her presence could still be felt, and perhaps if someone considered the need to meet up with her, they could find her. That is… if they could overcome the treacherous landscape of this section of the wastelands. The barren landscape known as the ‘Predator’s Arena’ was pretty much what the name suggested. The strongest and most feral predators on the planet of Vegeta often made this place their hunting ground, to the point that most of the Saiyan population even avoided going in there.
Of course there were some ancient warrior traditions that often had a Saiyan venture in the arena to slay some predator. It was this tradition that had stirred Reikiko’s interest. Saiyans were a warrior species, and as warriors they respected their strength and pride above all else. Perhaps it was a naïve thought, but what could one do to be considered an equal to the Saiyans? It was this question that had led Reikiko to consider the idea of participating in one of their ancient rites. If she was to return with a suitable trophy, then perhaps she could reduce the friction and tension her presence was causing on this planet. In the end as much as she wanted to swallow all her pride, there was no way she would accept someone to trample over her. If they still refused to see her as an equal at the end of this rite, then it was their mistake.
She finally came to a halt near a small canyon, her body crouching down to look at the claw marks in the sand. They were stained red in blood, and following the trail of the bloodied markings she discovered that along the trail more and more blood became visible. Either this was an injured victor of a battle, or a predator that had turned into prey. It seemed the answer to her question was soon found, for a large spacious hole became visible in one of the walls of the canyon: a simple cave.
It was of course inhabited, two large creatures were present. One was some sort of giant hound, its body covered in scars. The hound clearly looked like a trained predator, or at least pretty strong for it was feasting on the corpse of an even larger beast that reminded her of some more outlandish version of the bull.
“That doesn’t seem like the Chimera they were talking about…”
A deep sigh escaped Reikiko’s lips, a sound the hound heard for it turned around and eyed her, before it lashed out at her without any warning! The beast was swift, much swifter than the average martial arts practitioner and being unprepared for the sudden lunge the only thing Reikiko could do to prevent the beast from tearing into her body was to raise her hands, projecting her ki into a barrier, and even then the sheer physical force of the lunge knocked her and barrier into the open. The barrier fortunately withstood the attack, but as she landed back onto the ground the Homunculus’s hand grasped for the strap on her neck, the one that tied her cloak together and tossed it away.
“It’s been a while since I last had a proper hunt.”
Her tone was calm, a rather odd thing for one to have when facing a battle where the victor would likely feast upon the defeated. The hound soon rushed back toward her, but this time Reikiko was prepared. A sudden surge of ki burst out of her body, her black-raven wings sprouting out of her back as a hand lifted upwards, her eyes narrowing into a focused glare when a obsidian-colored sphere burst forwards, heading straight toward the hound’s spot. Certainly the hound was swift enough to dodge the projectile, but he seemed to be unaware of the fact the sphere soon burst into a detonation, blasting the hound sideways into the wall.
“I guess you’re not the one I seek… The Chimera is supposed to have the strength of a warrior, the speed of a feral beast and the intelligence of a men…”
Still, that loud explosion and the sudden flare of her ki would certainly draw the attention of anyone in the area, or perhaps even the planet. In the end her energy level had risen to its usual unleashed level. She wasn’t going to act cocky by going easy on an enemy like this… Still, hopefully anyone who was brave or foolish enough to pay a visit was ready for a hunt, for this wasn't exactly a vacation resort...

Queen Zucceta was fortunate that, from an early age, she had never lost sight of a focus. Her focus were often goal-posts that changed, and moved further and further away from her, but they were goals that allowed her to continue her steady march to what she perceived as her inevitable glory as the strongest queen ever to grace the saiyan throne.
Her first true goal had been a revelation at a young age, and the first true hardening her personality had taken. She had realised that the deaths of her parents had been no accident, nor honorable deaths on a distant front; no, they had been 'rebels' and murdered for their discontent with Zasho I and his ruling ministry. They had been silenced, permanently, and Zucceta's own mission had basically been a death sentence, one that she had only survived miraculously. On learning this, she had dedicated her training in the saiyan academy to getting strong enough to kill the one who had ordered her parent's murders, and her own suicide mission.
Once that was achieved, she had briefly seen prison, before being officially excused, although quietly, and sent to join an up-and-coming squad. There, she had driven them to become one of the highest ranking squads in the imperial army, but she had not forgot her hate of the ministry; and they knew it, for she (and her new friends) were ambushed by their own supposed brethren on returning from a difficult, but successful, mission.
She, once again a survivor, had slunk away to Earth, where she vowed to train herself to become strong enough to face the ministers and overthrow them. And she had.
Along the way she had made new enemies, and found new interests, but her priority remained with the ministry.
So imagine her rage when someone had got to them first.
She had returned to Vegeta and bested Vennel, and both had ascended to a higher state of power, the legendary transformation, golden hair and olive eyes. She had spared the previous monarch, but she had taken the throne. She was at the peak of her power, personally and politically.
Which, in of itself, gave her very little free time. But she had managed to grab a few hours to herself, and had thus headed out to the wasteland.
The dreary area gave Zucceta some internal calm, the scorched plains a reminder of her race's history with another, one whose attitudes and sciences were not unlike the humans or Arcosians she so hated. It was a reminder of their victory, and of their resilience, to grow and prosper even in these conditions. Attempts had been made in the past to restore the planet to health, but they had been abandoned or forgotten in varying degrees of success. Vegeta would, likely, remain a wasteland forever.
And wastelands encourage only the hardy to survive.
The queen sat slowly meditating in the baking sun, sweat trickling down her face. Her weighted cape billowed slightly in the heavy, blasting wind of the unprotected area she was sitting in. Her thoughts were on her next steps. What ought she do with such a political power as hers? She didn't know how long she had before another challenged her for the throne, and she had no delusions about being capable of holding her position against the strongest warriors she had met, although they had to have saiyan blood to be truly eligible.
As if initiated by her thoughts, a great power flares nearby. The queen sighs, her meditative focus lost, before slowly making her way towards the power source. It quickly became clear who the culprit was, the one she had been accused of working for; Reikiko, 'goddess'.
The queen sets down, folding her arms together. The metallic prosthesis glints in the deep red sun. "You're still on this planet, huh?" The queen muses, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth.

She had just approached the slain predator, a hand reaching for its rough leathery hide when a familiar voice reached her ears. Of course it was a voice all too familiar to her, that of the female Saiyan warrior that had drawn her interest back on Earth. Back then she had firmly believed Zucceta would had been more than capable of accomplishing the trials that would allow her to ascend to the role of a super saiyan, and if the rumors were to be believed, then this woman had finally accomplished that what she had expected her to accomplish. For a moment the silver-haired Homunculus closed her eyes, having yet to face the newly appointed queen. Of course she didn't even need to hear her speak, in the end her aura alone already betrayed her identity.
"That I am, but on the matter of how long I shall remain will depend on external factors."
Her tone was calm and soft, yet carried a certain distant politeness that used to be absent from when they met back on earth. She finally turned a hand upwards, a torrent of ki visibly gathering into a physical form, a blade of sorts that she sliced into the skin of the beast, seemingly severing a part from its chest before pulling it out, a large chunk of raw meat remaining afloat beside the outstretched hand. When she turned around her crimson-colored irises gazed calmly at Zucceta as she addressed the woman once more.
"Congratulations on your ascension, both to the throne and to the Supah Saiyajin form. Forgive the bluntness Lady Death, but what brings you here? After our brief encounters on Earth I firmly doubt that you're the type to seek retribution for that little event at the palace. Nor do I believe you're here on a mere coincidence. So what could a simple Homunculus like myself help you with?"
There was both a hint of grief and melancholy in her tone, and rightly so. She had lost a lot during her time on Vegeta. Not only did she lose a sight of her own purpose and existence, but the attempt to come in peace, and help out the planet that those dear to her called 'home' was met with distrust and sometimes even hostility.
"Your people are a confusing race. Strong, stubborn and complex."
But perhaps it was because the one most dear to her was of Saiyan blood, that she found the need to figure out how their civilization functioned. For a moment she closed her eyes, sighing softly as she continued speaking.
"But if you are wondering. I am merely here to follow one of your kin's traditions. I lost much recently with, what I might now consider a foolish decision to come to Vegeta. Those I consider precious are steadily leaving me to pursue their own dreams and find the own things they consider important. I should be happy but within the depths of my heart I'm furious..."
She chuckled briefly as she approached the queen, her body hovering lightly into the air while the chunk of meat continued to flow behind her.
"A being like me draws strength from emotions, quite a lot like how rage and hatred within a Saiyajin might allow them to transcend past their limits. It's for that reason emotions your people might consider... foolish like love, jealousy, lust just to name a few are incredibly strong catalysts. Even as we speak those emotions threaten to overwhelm me, and while they could allow me to ascend to a whole different level of existence... it's difficult to enjoy this rise in power."
She finally landed before Zucceta, briefly closing her eyes as she continued speaking, her tone seemingly showing a mild hint of annoyance.
"I didn't expect Kaula to grow that fond of her homeland. Even as we speak she is drifting further and further away from me. How long till she abandons me at last, how long till she formally joins your army and disappears from my side forever. Whoever made my kin must had been an idiot for having us feel such emotions. Even now I feel jealousy and anger at how your people seem to draw her away from me. But I'm no longer who I used to be. I won't be foolish enough to try to destroy that what is taking her away from me. Instead I will try to grow to understand it, and seek to surpass whatever charm it possesses."
Her gaze shifted back away from the queen, seemingly into the distant caverns that were visible at the other side of the canyon.
"But that is a thought for later. Right now I am hunting an ancient predator, a myth among your people. It's said that one of the first Supah Saiyajin fought this creature... one who is the only predator on Vegeta to actually be able to survive an encounter with a Supah Saiyajin as both battled for days, till their duel had to be ended for the sake of the planet's survival... Or so the story goes. It's for that reason I am hunting it... In the end earning a trophy from this beast will show myself to be a warrior, and at least get some tolerance among your people."
She smiled briefly as her wings started to slowly dissolve into long silken-like threads of ki and her energy started to shrink back to its normal level.
"You're welcome to tag along, should you wish for it. I could use some company, and perhaps one like yourself to converse with. I been rather curious to hear about the events that been going on since I secluded myself into the solitude of the wilderness."
If her thoughts were correct, then the act of luring out this apex predator would require for her to use the meat she had harvested from the beast to lure out a even larger animal. It shouldn't take too much time... but even then she was curious to figure out what type of predator would await her. Nevertheless, would this still be enough to accomplish the things she desired?

Zucceta purses her lips, gripping her organic arm almost awkwardly behind her back with her mechanical one. She felt like she ought to thank the homunculus for helping her on Earth; there'd been no guarantee of her survival when Virtual Poi had mangled her arm beyond reparation, had been no guarantee her body would have survived the shock of her self-initiated dismemberment, but Reikiko had been there when she woke. Still, her pride would not allow it.
She smiles, turning away from the created being and staring at the crimson sky. "I came here to ponder my next move, 'goddess'. As a ruler, I must turn my eyes to my people and consider what is best for them; but, above that, I must consider what is best to solidify my own legend." She is cuttingly honest; the position of queen was a position she had craved if only for the fact that none would dare order her around.
She chuckles at Reikiko's assessment of the saiyans. "For all of our pride and brutality, though, well... I think one can find diamonds amidst the coal. You certainly have, no?" She muses deliberately, of course, referring to Kaula and their bond.
"The fury of loss is a fury I know well, Homunculus. But it doesn't quite match the fury of the void." Her voice is neutral, but her eyes hold the weight of her words.
Zucceta frowns. "Those emotions are not foolish within the heart of a warrior, but in anyone lesser they serve to overpower and stagnate. People turn into cattle, worthless fodder only fit for the slaughter." Her words don't sound malicious in intent, just matter-of-fact. She shrugs.
"Well, what can I say? The planet Vegeta is just a regular paradise." She smirks. It was only a half sarcasm; the queen was genuinely fond of the wasted planet, but she knew it paled to the luscious beauty of Earth.
She snorts when she hears of Reikiko's quarry. "A beast that could match a super saiyan? Patently absurd." She grins. "I love the absurd."
The queen was slightly wary of the artificial warrior; her predecessor, Vennel, had been particularly adamant that Reikiko was a threat to her government's stability. However, she had also been certain that Zucceta had been sent by her, which was completely untrue; it was just a loose coincidence she had appeared on the planet when she had, a few days after the homunculus. She shrugs. What harm could it be?
"I'll join you, 'goddess', if only out of personal intrigue for this beast. I've never heard of these legends."

She couldn't help but grin briefly at the queen's words, her gaze shifting to focus onto the Saiyan. So she was considering her next move? She should have expected that for an ambitious woman like Zucceta the throne was just a stepping stone. Certainly, it was a big one but there was still much more to accomplish. The title she had given Reikiko was one she couldn't help but wonder whether it was sarcasm or something else... nope, most likely sarcasm.
"Just Reikiko is fine. While my origins might contain the blood of those one might call gods, there are creatures far more powerful than me in existence."
However, the next words that were spoken caused a subtle change in both her presence and demeanor. It was true that there were diamonds amidst the coal, and while they were few and difficult to grasp she couldn't help but find herself chuckling in response before nodding her head firmly in return.
"Indeed, albeit the diamonds I found usually turn into gold or are pretty sharp when trying to hold. I remember how strong the temptation was to reach for a certain diamond I saw on Earth a while back. However, Earthlings got this saying: don't try to touch an injured lioness'. And as much as I like some touching, I don't like losing my hand or tail. Although with my powers I guess I could have taken the risk and regrown either. Still, no use crying over spilled milk."
She hummed playfully while she gestured toward a distant valley. It had been her next destination, for the large network of caves and caverns that were there surely must had been concealing a more worthwhile predator.
"It's a tale I heard from a rather aged Saiyajin warrior. Whether it's truth or fiction shall be revealed soon enough I guess."
The artificial warrior explained the origins of where she had heard the story, yet once she stepped into the valley there seemed to be several suitable spots for placing her bait. However, before she would decide on where to lure out the predator she decided to reveal something interesting to the Saiyan.
"Remember when we first met? It was during that little recruitment session of yours. While the reason for my interactions with the people of this planet seems to misunderstood, you and me are kind of similar: I desire powerful opponents. However, just fighting strong opponents isn't enough. I want to best them at the peak of their strength, at the pinnacle of their potential. It's for that reason I tried to use the knowledge I obtained from absorbing that Supah Saiyajin... I been trying to find those with potential and make them transcend beyond them limits. Yet I feel that even the Supah Saiyajin isn't enough for my goal..."
She paused as she gestured with her hand, causing the levitating chuck of flesh to drop onto the ground before the cavern and while she stepped backwards she continued her explanation.
"Greater power, even as we speak I'm about to tap into a power that would make the Supah Saiyajin be considered inferior in power. Yet I have reasons to believe there is an even greater power within the Saiyajin. If I want to obtain the power to truly be akin to the gods in my memories I will need to stimulate those with the potential to become worthy rivals to stir my own potential even further. Isn't it similar to your desire to fight powerful foes? Or was that 'Athren' an odd-case? I can't help but wonder whether this lust for a worthy battle is something all Saiyajin feel, or only this one in particular does."
Curiously enough a surge of ki could be felt from deep within the cave, and slowly a loud rumbling noise shook the very ground they stood upon. Something, or someone was coming!

The queen's eyebrow arches upwards. "If you insist... Reikiko." 'Gods'; pah, whatever. The only gods were those beings who could reach an unmatched level of power on this plane of existence; the rest were myths and fables. Except... Vukong..?
No. There was no hell, nor heaven. Only the now of it all.
The queen laughs, more innocently than she was accustomed to. "As far as I'm aware, gold isn't a part of a diamond's life-cycle." She muses on the rest of the homunculus's comment, ignorant of whom Reikiko was referring to. "When a lioness is injured, that is surely the perfect time to strike?"
"You babble a lot," Lady Death teases. Still, she felt relaxed, weirdly; more relaxed than she had felt in some time.
She nods at Reikiko's next words. "Perhaps you know the virus, Koramund. I bested him once, with teamwork, aiding Athren as well as a handful of other warriors. They left his fate in my hands, they were all too weak to end his life... but, then, I chose to spare him." She smirks. "I gave him the chance to gain strength, which he failed utterly, and when he began to wreak havoc on Vegeta less than a month ago I ended his life in a half-second." The queen places a hand on her chin, and scratches. "The kill wasn't satisfying, but necessary as a ruler. You understand?"
The queen flexes. "Every limit I reach, I surpass. But there is always a stronger fighter, and I wouldn't have it any other way." She grins.
"However, I find your insistence upon 'stimulating' my kind... irritating. We don't need your help to reach these peaks. Not me, nor Kaula. It wounds my pride." The queen shrugs, again, a matter of fact. Her voice wasn't mocking or condescending, but it was a true irritant to the queen.
She could do it by herself, thank you very much.
"But, yes, most saiyans desire a battle worthy of legend. I want to die in such a battle." She smiles. It would be a good death, to be sure, a life was wasted by reaching old age.
The ground beneath them begins to shake with movement, and Zucceta growls. "Bloody hell, an earthquake?" But then... wait, she could sense something...
Something potent.
In an instance, she yells, a golden aura bursting up around her. Her hair spikes into a mountain range of peaks, before flashing into the golden of the aura. Her eyes surge with the olive of the Super Saiya-jin form, a form she had only recently mastered to access all of it's latent energy, encroaching on the three million mark.

When the queen seemed ignorant about her comment the Homunculus couldn't help but grin in return. To strike a lioness when she is injured certainly would have been a perfect opportunity to strike, yet at the same time that was only when one desired to kill the lioness. Surely her intentions were different, what was the reason Reikiko was mildly amused by the statement. However, at Lady Death's teasing remark about her babbling a lot the Homunculus couldn't help but find her cheeks flush up slightly into a blush of embarrassment while she replied in a tone that clearly shown hints of amusement and perhaps even a bit of joy in them.
"I'll hope you'll forgive me for that. Most of your kin aren't exactly willing to talk or listen to an outsider, let stand an 'alien' like myself. So having someone to talk to is a rather strange but pleasant change of pace."
When the subject of Koramund became the new focus of their conversation the Homunculus frowned, a visible hint of concern and confusion. She remembered that scene, in the end she was there when the giant Oozaru had crushed Koramund's defenses alongside Athren and the Namekian, so when she recalled the scenario she mused out loud.
"I remember! He made that weird tree thing back then. Albeit you said you killed him on Vegeta? That's quite a peculiar event to have transpired, especially considering I saw him being obliterated by Athren's attack during the events at West Capitol. He was the purest definition of: Going KABOOM! Kaput even, so for him to have reemerged on Vegeta. Either he is more difficult to kill than those pink demons, whose tenacity to stay alive are stronger than even a cockroach or... Hah! I doubt anyone would use 'those things' to revive him. You'd need to be a fool to waste a wish on someone like that."
She laughed for a bit, but the words that followed caused her smile to fade for a more serious expression. She pondered for a moment, the seriousness in the queen's voice suggesting she wasn't trying to mock her. It must had been a genuine warning, for she did remember how precious the Saiyajin pride was to those people.
"A point of view that I didn't explore yet. I guess in my wild chase to create rivals strong enough to excite me with a worthy battle I became blind to the fact some people don't need such stimulation. I could understand your warrior's pride would be wounded by being given it on a silver plate, rather than obtain it from struggling through a chain of challenges. I shall remember those words."
However, when their conversation reached its ending the ground beneath them started to shake violently, and sensing the threat the queen ascended into her legendary Super Saiyan form. It always was an exciting sight to behold a Super Saiyan's transformation, yet the enemy they were about to face was one she expected the least. The green colored creature that emerged from the cave was familiar to her, one of the weaker predators on the planet: A Saibaman.
"Two questions Zucceta... One: Hopefully you don't consider this battle worthy of legend, cause I don't wish to see you die yet..."
The ground rumbled beneath them as the Saibaman slowly marched into their direction, letting out a 'KIIIIIII' cry when it spat some of its venomous substance at the two of them, and while she was certain the Super Saiyan could avoid the sludge send their way, Reikiko's eyes narrowed in a glare, her wings spreading out of her back as a burst of energy caused her body to be propelled backwards into the air.
"Two: Are Saibaman meant to be the size of an Oozaru?!"
It seemed their 'predator' was indeed a slightly over-sized Saibaman, slightly being the understatement of the year.

Zucceta chuckles. "Forgiven. I am not like my kin, regardless, though I impress my rule upon them; I do not see other species as necessarily inferior due to their genetics, but due to their attitudes. A weak attitude does a cattle make." The queen stares at the alien. "I don't think you have such an attitude."
Reikiko's commentary on Koramund was interesting. "I suspect that he somehow managed to slip out of it. However, his death by my hand was certainly final." She pauses. "And by 'those things', are you referring to those Dragon Balls Virtual Poi is pursuing?"
Zucceta was not ignorant of those creations, but she did not quite believe in them. And yet, here was another mostly-sane individual referring to them. She growls, before smirking. What she could do with a wish of her own choosing!
