Hey everyone, a bit delayed due to me only noticing this recently but...
How in the world are we getting various players being able to master the power of healing? In the series (as far as I been told) healing is supposed to be a very restricted thing to pursue. It's not something everyone possessed, and most/if not all the time those characters didn't show the combat aptitude that everyone here possesses.
Take Dende for example, he possessed the ability to heal people, but at the cost of being close to useless in an actual fight.
My concern is that healing is starting to become rather popular as a technique, and with no established 'health' system or healing tier we get a certain lackluster effect. That one clan from the Namekian species who possess the potential for a magic healing skill pretty much lose that part of their charm.
That's why I feel that healing should be restricted to the following people:
Species who have healing as their racial special, this means the following people would have access to the skill:
Namekians from the aforementioned clan (Dragon I think?) IF their mystical skill is healing
Homunculi (who were themed in their racial traits to have the healing skill)
And possibly:
Demons (IF they make their special a healing skill)
Majin (If they pick the none-absorb line with their magic skill, but since Majin are being reworked we shouldn't really focus on that for this discussion)
Of course we shouldn't restrict healing entirely to those races, in the end we had people like Baba who likely could heal also, but once more weren't combat orientated.
That's why I'd personally like to see those 'healers' be actual healers. If you learn a healing technique and want to use this in a battle, you're going to be on the sidelines and shouldn't be going into a fight (pretty much an example: Dende healing Gohan in the fight against Buu).
Of course I'm a bit biased on this matter, because I designed Reikiko's race in a way that would allow her to either be a fighter or a healer depending on the topic (that's part of why Blessing of the Dark Goddess works on others, and currently is the only skill that allows her to regrow limbs on people like a senzu bean would). But the fact that we're getting people to unlock healing left and right is a bit worrisome to me.
