If there was one thing Reikiko learned after her ascension into the state of a Homunculus, then it was the fact that it had led her to experience an odd sensation of sorts. She had obtained a power of such capacity that to her knowledge there was only one person who could truly be considered her equal on the battlefield. The android Vipoi had clearly obtained the means to develop his body in such a way it was able to keep up with her own ascension. It was something that both fascinated and frustrated her. How in the world could an android be able to keep up with a goddess? Then again, perhaps this was meant to be. Someone to ensure that she wasn’t as immortal as she had assumed herself to be. This must had been what mortals called a ‘rival’. That’s right, in the end Vipoi was both a friend and rival of her. On this particular day Reikiko had been standing within the gravity chamber of her ship, eyes closed and her expression calm and peaceful, as if she had been in some form of meditation. The silver-haired woman had been preparing something, a little objective of hers so to speak.
It had only been recently that she came to acknowledge the fact that her presence was often so strong that it could draw unexpected reactions, some unpleasant ones even. Disbelief and fear were some of the most common reactions she experienced, but she also noticed that the power flowing through her body was immense. Perhaps it was even too great for her own body to shoulder as a burden. It was with that thought in mind that Reikiko had initially decided to focus on mastering the skill of suppressing her energy. But this wasn’t just a matter of ki. Even her spiritual presence, her soul so to speak was much more powerful than an ordinary human being could have been, perhaps even stronger than most aliens in existence. She could feel the energy flowing through her body, channeling outwards into the red markings on her arms and cheeks and all the way into the several black raven wings that grown out of her body. It was the only thing she could do to ensure the energy wouldn’t become too much for this vessel of hers to bear. And yet, there must had been an alternative. A method to seal most of her power without the need to lose it forever.
It was logical to assume that by channeling enough energy through her body she would be able to manage the flow of the energy more correctly, allowing it to manifest only when called upon. While it was a practice that took at least several hours, she had at last been capable of controlling her energy in such a way that at its base one likely would have felt that her power level at its base was roughly around 200,000. It was a modest number, and yet it was enough for her body to easily suppress the overflowing energy. Still, perhaps it would have been worth to try it out in practice? At least that was her intention until a sudden glow started to manifest within the air before her, and a moment later Alice emerged, clearly in a panic.
“M-Mistress Reikiko, we got troubles!”
The Homunculus her gaze softened a little, lightly raising a hand while the pixie landed on the palm that was facing upwards. She was kind of curious about what type of troubles could have happened on Vegeta. Kaula had been training her newly attainted Super Saiyan transformation and Hikari had been overseeing her progression. As far as she knew none of Vegeta had the ability to match the combined strength of those two so that couldn’t be the nature of the problem. Then what could it have possibly been?
“Calm down for a moment Alice. Take a deep breath and then tell me what has been going on that made you so worried.”
The pixie-shaped artificial intelligence nodded her head lightly in response, taking several deep breaths before she seemed to finally calm down. Judging from the few presences she felt outside the docking bay of the ship the Homunculus could already make a guess about the nature of the problems that Alice was so troubled about.
“There is a group of Saiyans outside. They demand your… your head for the impoliteness you shown the Queen of Vegeta.”
How peculiar, was this a part of Vennel’s retribution for the events that had happened at her palace? She had assumed there would have been no hostile feelings between the two of them. In the end she was merely a goddess who had come to visit Vegeta in an attempt to see if the Saiyan race had become worthy of her blessings and an alliance. Instead she had been forced to experience downright hostility? The Homunculus groaned softly as she started walking toward the door of the chamber, her tone more firm and serious, a hint of annoyance in her voice.
“Did you confirm that they were send by the Queen?”
Alice shook her head lightly, a series of sweeps with her tiny hands in the air causing several screens to appear in the air, showing pictures of several individuals who were likely young adults judging from their appearance.
“I didn’t get confirmation on that. However, my resources tell me that the Saiyans population is currently divided into several factions so to speak. Some of them secretly denounce the Queen’s reign, the particular Saiyans that are present have been part of the group that supports the Queen due to their dislike for the ministry.”
So that was it? Those fools were about to try to turn her into a spectacle for their political games? Arriving at the exit of her ship the gate started to open, and slowly but with a hint of confidence in her stride Reikiko started to approach the group that had gathered in the docking bay.
“At least she isn’t cowardly enough to flee from us!”
One of the Saiyans, the smallest one in the group with short black hair that was left in a messy state glared at her while he mockingly stated those words. Inwardly Reikiko could only sigh in amusement at the thought someone assumed she was about to flee from a battle, let stand one against a weakling like those Saiyans.
“It would be rather inhospitable of me to refuse to greet the people of this planet, especially when they took the effort to send a ‘delegation’ to my ship. Now what business would a group of young Saiyajin have with me?”
The one at the center, seemingly the leader of the group judging from how his presence felt the strongest, and he did look like the tallest and most intimidating out of the group, stepped forwards, his gaze seemingly drifting around the area before he spoke in the same type of confident and arrogant tone that seemed to be a trademark among most Saiyans.
“Stop looking down upon us Alien Bitch. We’re Saiyans, the race destined to conquer all, the strongest warriors in the galaxy!”
An exaggerated sigh escaped Reikiko’s lips, her eyes narrowing their gaze just a little while she listened to the smug talking of the man. Honestly, she wasn’t that fond of people who had such attitude, and even worse people who didn’t know their place. They were weak and ignorant vermin, destined to be crushed and instead of praising her benevolence for granting them permission to remain in her presence they spit at her kindness and ridiculed her? Her patience was slowly running out. Folding her arms beneath her chest she spoke in a lower tone, almost scowling her threat.
“Leave while you still got a pair of legs to walk with.”
Still, what followed afterwards was enough to make her snap. The third Saiyan among the group looked around, as if he was searching for something or someone and after a moment addressed the guy at the front, judging from the respectful tone once more causing her to confirm that this was most likely their leader.
“Boss, that Saiyan woman from the palace isn’t here.”
Saiyan woman? It must had been Kaula they were referring to. Not only had they not seen Hikari, but she had after all introduced Kaula as her companion. Could this had been part of their scheme? To punish Kaula for trying to embarrass their queen? Still, before she had an opportunity to inquire about their business with Kaula the leader of the trio replied with a hint of venomous malice in his tone.
“We’ll find that whore later. For now focus on the alien.”
What… What did they call her? Her hands grasped into tight fists as she glared at the Saiyan who had just spoken. How did they dare to call her lover that! It was already bad enough to ridicule her, but to badmouth Kaula was taking it too far. A obsidian aura started to seep outwards, slowly surrounding the woman as she took a step forwards, her tone clearly betraying her rising anger.
“Prostrate yourselves before me and beg for forgiveness at calling my lover those words, lest I’ll sentence you all to a painful death.”
Their leader let out a coarse laugh, clearly amused at the woman’s anger. It seemed he had hit a nerve, and was preparing to exploit it as much as he could. Her power level seemed only roughly around two hundred thousand, so surely the combined power of all of them could overwhelm her without any problem.
“I’m merely calling her what she is: A disgrace to the Saiyan race. To think she’d mingle with Alien filth. Showing affection and respect to something like you… That whore isn’t even selling herself for Zeni, it’s all merely for superficial power! She’s no longer a Saiyan, but trash like the alien filth she sleeps with!”
Oh boy, that was the it. Her aura flared outwards into a burning flame, and one of the Saiyans in the back seemed to had grown overconfident in his own power. He lunged forwards, seemingly with the intention of raising his fist to punch at her, but curiously enough he found his body stopped in the air. She didn’t even touch him, but it felt like something had wrapped around his body and was tightening around him with such a force a cry of agony escaped his lips.
“That’s enough… I was naïve to imagine the Saiyajin species could be blessed. I was foolish to think that there were others like some on Earth who know when to respect their superiors. You ridiculed my kindness, spat onto my benevolence… things I could have forgiven. However, the moment you targeted the one I love was when your transgressions went beyond redemption. Ignorance is a bliss, but not an excuse for your actions Saiyajin!”
Her voice boomed through the docking bay, and to the two remaining Saiyans their horror a sudden splash of blood hit their face as some invisible object skewered the Saiyan that had tried to attack Reikiko. A large gaping hole was made where the Saiyan’s heart had been, the still beating organ floating in the air behind him, and a moment later crushed into oblivion before the faces of the two others.
“I’ll came here with the intentions to deliver a blessing. Instead I shall let Vegeta known FEAR! Let them know what it means to incur the ire of the Yami no Megami, devourer of Supah Saiyajin!”
Their leader’s face turned pale as a pair of black raven wings sprouted from the woman’s back, red colored markings slowly emerging onto her cheeks and arms and with a light sweep of her hand the Saiyan’s corpse that was floating in the air got beheaded, making the body finally drop onto the ground while the lifeless head remained afloat.
“That’s no alien… It’s a devil!”
The second Saiyan in the back was making several tiny steps backwards, seemingly with the intention of running away, but instead the Saiyan found his body slowly lifted into the air, squirming and flailing as something started to choke around his neck.
“C-Can’t breathe!”
Of course it took only a moment before the Saiyan’s neck was snapped, and the sight of his body being severed from the neck was enough to make Alice tremble in fear. Such a weaklings, and yet they spoke with the arrogance only gods should have had. Raising a hand to brush some of the blood stains that had hit her cheek off her face she glared at their leader.
“I’m not going to die to your magic! I’m a Saiyajin, I won’t die a disgraceful death!”
Yet before he could react the woman had disappeared from view, reappearing right before him, and while neither of her arms moved the man felt a sharp blow in his gut, making him stagger backwards and feel the wind being knocked out of his lungs. Such an intense attack, and he didn’t even had the opportunity to counter her! The Saiyan was surprising quick to recover, something Reikiko was mildly amused by, even if she had only used a sliver of her strength in that attack. The warrior jumped backwards, a hand raised forwards as an average amount of energy started to surge into his hand, and a moment later the Saiyan thrown the sphere toward her.
“You’re right… As punishment for disgracing my beloved Kaula with your words I will make your death more painful than that of any other. I will make you experience true despair before I end your existence.”
The woman’s hand grasped a hold of the ki sphere that was tossed at her, and with a swift knead caused it to burst into her hand, clearly not even scorching it. It was time for Reikiko’s counter-attack, and it was clear that the Homunculus wasn’t going to let her prey go off easily. Her body blurred out of view, reappearing right before the Saiyan who had attempted to raise his fist to stop her attack, but instead he found an invisible sweep pulling out his footing from beneath him, and a harsh slam on his back send him reeling onto the ground, an invisible gravity pulling his head down in a prostrating fashion toward the Homunculus. She glared down at him, a hand resting on her hip while at the same time she slowly crouched down beside him, causing the Saiyan to look up at her with a hint of disgust.
“Kill me already!”
However, it seemed the Homunculus had other plans. She shook her head, her lips curving up into a grin while she declared with pure hatred and malice in her voice.
“I will destroy the capitol. Your family, your beloved friends will all suffer for the transgression you committed today. If your Queen begs for forgiveness I will spare your planet, but otherwise know that you doomed your whole species!”
The Saiyan’s expression turned into one of fear, almost despair and yet when she rose onto her feet she asked heard the Saiyan’s pleading tone.
“Don’t--- Don’t make others suffer for what I did.”
The goddess of darkness shook her head in response, a light swipe with her hand causing the Saiyan to feel something slicing into his neck, and a moment later his life was ended. Alice could only stare in terror as the Homunculus manipulated the ki around the three heads to float behind her, and stopping right before Alice the Homunculus’ tone softened a little.
“Alice, search for Kaula and Hikari’s location. The future of Vegeta and its people shall depend on what those two have to say.”
Alice nodded her head lightly as she ended the recording of the video, and taking a deep breath Reikiko could feel the dark aura around her slowly fading away. Luckily she wasn’t in charge of cleaning this docking bay, because it had been turned into a bloody mess.
“This is my retribution. Either the Saiyajin species will learn to overcome their arrogance, or it will die alongside them.”
With those words she closed her eyes, waiting for Alice to pinpoint Kaula’s location.
It had only been recently that she came to acknowledge the fact that her presence was often so strong that it could draw unexpected reactions, some unpleasant ones even. Disbelief and fear were some of the most common reactions she experienced, but she also noticed that the power flowing through her body was immense.
