Name: Johnathan Walker
Alias: The Voice, John, Johnny
Species: Android
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Appearance:
While fighting, his eyes switch from turquoise to silver-grey, showing that his Nanites are working in full force.
History: John always had a very nice life, all things considered. His parents were both recognized experts in cybernetics, who met in university and married shortly after both obtained a doctorate in their field of expertise. Working hard on their new discoveries and perfecting existing technology, they didn't have as much time for their son as they wanted to, but he always had skilled individuals taking care of him, and never lacked in toys, company or entertainment.
Once he was old enough, John was sent to prestigious school after prestigious school, the best ones where money could buy you entrance, and got amazing education all the way along. But here, the real rift between him and his parents started to form. Simply put, they were both geniuses - and their boy was just normal, and as one might expect, quite childish. Compared to child geniuses who got into prestigious schools by talent, he was just middle of the road - not terrible, but also not terribly impressive. The only thing he excelled at right from childhood were physical activities, and music. It was as if all the skill his parents had in scientific activities had transferred into his musical aptitude, to the chargin of his parents.
Soon, the growing rift between him and his parents became more apparent. By the time he reached middle school, John chose to stay in his boarding schools over the vacations, with permission from his parents, and became a member of the school band for the time being. Soon enough, he also joined multiple clubs - to be exact, the martial arts club and a band club focused on rock and metal music instead of the classic music taught at school, falling in with the crowd of other rich kids who just didn't conform to their parents fully, or who supported their decisions to get into other fields of expertise. Simply put, he made his first few REAL friends.
After graduating highschool a few years later, John immediately joined the music industry. His relationship with his parents changed from 'icy' to 'one phone-call a year on Christmas Eve' within a single year, as Johnny dived into a world of loud music, hard parties, and quite a few drugs as well. His interest in martial arts evaporated around this point, as he had enough chances to blow off steam on stage, which had been his original reason for even getting into it. He truly felt alive like this - in a constant rush, from concert to concert to recording studio and back onto the road. Quickly, his band 'The Voice' - became a complete hit on the international metal and rock scene. However, soaring higher and higher is never going to work out all that well.
For John, it all came crashing down when he lost consciousness during a concert, shocking his fans as he was carted off to the hospital. A combination of constant alcohol and substance abuse had robbed his body of almost all it's strength within the three years his original career lasted. Around this time, his parents showed real concern for the first time for him, and while their son worked on getting his life back into order, their relationship slowly improved.
In total, rehabilitation took Johnathan an entire year before he felt good enough to really think about getting back to music. Planning his comeback concert together with the few band members that staid true during the harsh times and cleaned up their own lives, his parents agreed for the first time to actually visit one of his concerts.
The evening of his comeback would change his life forever. John drove his new car to the lab of his parents to go pick them up, but nobody showed up outside as they had promised, and so he got out of his vehicle and entered the lab with the keycard his father had given him as a sign of reconciliation between them. Oddly enough, the lights in the building seemed to malfunction and flicker - as John reached for the lightswitch, a dull impact on the back of his skull knocked him to the ground, almost losing consciousness in the process. The entire world swirling around him, a sharp, painful tone in his ears, men clad in black combat gear dragged him along, into what he knew to be his father's laboratory, before losing consciousness fully.
A gunshot woke Johnathan up. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he saw the body of his mother hit the ground in a pool of her own blood. He wanted to scream, but the shock prevented it. At least ten people, all clad in full combat gear and sacks which were obviously filled with research material from the laboratory. The man who had just fired his gun now took aim at his father, who was kneeling down with his hands above his head.
"NO!"
With a singular scream, John broke free of the man who was holding him and obviously still thought him to be knocked out. Jumping at the man with the raised gun, the thug turned around and fired his weapon blindly, but John felt no pain, only an impact in his stomach and on his throat, but didn't stop his lounge. Knocking the man with the gun over, it fired again, blindly - hitting one of the sacks filled with research equipment and a few of the wall sockets for high-voltage equipment, causing sparks to fly everywhere, including the ripped materials strewn across the floor.
At this point, John's mind began to waver. Screams around him, which he couldn't understand - fire, spreading incredibly fast, all around him, and on him. His breathing was nearly impossible now, causing him to start choking - looking down, he saw blood all down his body, from a wound in his stomach... and one further up he couldn't see properly. Rolling onto the ground, gasping helplessly, the masked men scampered off with as much material as they could.
Then, his father came into view, holding a vial of silver liquid. He was bleeding profusely from a head wound himself, but never the less pressed the sharp needle into the side of his son's neck, obviously struggling to force the slow-moving, thick silver liquid into his son. Gasping once more... John suddenly felt air rushing into his lungs. Only a little bit at first, but the pain he was now feeling was actually getting less and less - as he got the strength to look down on himself, he saw some of the silvery liquid from the syringe bubbling around in his stomach wound, seemingly fixing it at high speed. Finally having the strength to sit up, John grabbed his father and made his way through the spreading flames as quickly as he could, to get out of the growing smog that would obviously be far from healthy for him.
Once outside of the building, John called out to his father, who was losing his own consciousness quickly now, as he heard the sirens of the firefighters in the background. Then, he noticed it - the change in his voice. Metallic, robotic even, with a weird, reverberating echo, as if his voice was being made by a computer. Then, his father whispered his final goodbye and secrets into his son's ear, just as the life left him the moment the paramedics arrived.
Johnathan Walker disappeared that night, never appearing on his comeback night. A private military contractor had hired his father's laboratory to create nanites - microscopic robots, which would heal and improve their soldiers, slowly turning them from flesh and blood into 'biometal', stronger than any normal metal alloy used for cyborgs, or at least such was the plan. Not wishing their secrets and ends of the deal to come out, they sent a hit squad the moment development was finished - but one prototype had remained outside of their reach.
They took his voice. They took his family. They took his humanity.
And now, he would make them pay - those bastards who wished for enough power to work for the Arcosian Empire.
Personality: John is a rather calm guy, to be sure. Sometimes, a bit too calm - even the weirdest of things don't phase him too much, and he's friendly to everyone until proven that he shouldn't be. This extends to all races, too - alien, human or machine, he doesn't prosecute. That only starts once he gets to know people's occupations - he absolutely, effectively detests mercenaries, finding their choice to fight for whoever pays best despicable to say the least. Those with actual moral standards might get a pass, if he finds reason to trust their words. Bounty hunters don't fare much better in his eyes, even if he himself is technically a bounty hunter in some ways.
He isn't too interested in actual fighting, which helps him hold the programming of his nanomachines in check. The nanites in his blood were programmed for battle, and his techniques and skills are all evolutions of their growing artificial intelligence - as such, he fights lead by a mechanical instinct, causing all of his moves to be coldly calculating and logical. He wouldn't keep fighting against a clearly superior foe, for example, and would attempt escape.
John can claim complete control over his battles as well, but rarely does so. In those cases, he loses his logical mind and acts more according to human instinct and anger - he only takes over if a fight is personal, so to say, as his human mind then overpowers his programming.
As he's still getting used to having an actual Heads-Up Display attached to his vision, he sometimes blurts out things his scanner tells him, such as power levels or structural data of objects, mumbling those facts to himself. As he's unsure sometimes of how his powers even work, he can be just as surprised as an enemy about his own powers and abilities/attacks.
While he likes having fun with friends, John doesn't like alcohol at all anymore, but still smokes cigarettes. Not like they pose actual danger anymore to his health, but it is the ONE bad habit he could never curb.
Starting Planet: Earth
Techniques:
Offensive
- Nanite Shield (N1): A basic shield made out of grey nanites are emitted from John's hands into a round shield in front of himself to deflect attacks.
- Nanite Protector (UP2): A shield made out of tiny nanomachines is emitted, grey in color, from Johnathan's hands. It forms a half-sphere around him, towards the direction he is aiming. The shield can weaken Ki attacks made at him and even stop them if they fail to clear 66% of his PL per charge used for it.
- Nanite Shell (MP3): The perfect variation of his shield. John unloads a swarm of grey nanobots into the air around himself, creating a spherical shield around himself. This barrier blocks up to 100% of his own PL per charge, up to possibly 300% of his current PL if charged for three posts.
Support
- Ki Radar (SU): A built-in sensing device that functions like Ki Sense for living fighters.
- Anti-Gravitational Module (SU): A special device built by his nanites into his abdomen, this unit allows flight similar to Ki Flight.
- Redistributed Energy (SU): For the first post of a charge, John doesn't have to decide on which technique to use with that charge (but he has to chose the level of the charge and can only use it for an appropriate technique). This means if he were to charge for one full post at 33% rate, he could in his second post decide on each of his [N1] techniques to use with that charge for a 66% attack, or continue charging the chosen attack up to 100% throughout this and the next post.
