He had finally gotten out of North Capitol. He had been trying to get out of that damn city for weeks now but finally he had mustered up enough funds (and courage) to take the first step towards traveling the world and eventually the rest of the galaxy. Beryl’s first stop was the Spinach Wastes in the East, farmlands famous for being where the first of Earth’s many alien encounters occurred. While it was now common knowledge that humans weren’t the only species that inhabited the galaxy, that known fact was not enough to satiate the young engineer’s curiosity. Strange things had been happening on Earth and to Beryl’s knowledge; none of them were connected to human activity. If humans weren’t the source of these events then it had to be an alien species; it had to be. The Saiyans were Beryl’s first guess and while his opinion of the Saiyans weren’t great (then again, who could blame him?), jumping to conclusions wasn’t going to help him solve these ongoing mysteries.
“…” It was high noon. The afternoon sun shined brightly in the cloudless sky. Other than Beryl, there wasn’t anyone else nearby. Slowly, the human extended a dark-skinned hand up into the air, palm facing skyward. An orange-colored orb of ki materialized in the center of his palm. It rocketed upwards, rose about one hundred feet into the air and exploded into a shower of harmless but flashy particles. After that, he waited. If anyone of interest was close, that would no doubt draw their attention. Preemptively, the young man rolled up the sleeves of his Capsule Corporation hoodie. It didn’t hurt to always be prepared.

((Thread #3 in Zerori’s timeline – don’t mind me, just marking stuff xD PL: 2,607))
After her run-in with the group known as Oroboros, She spent a good amount of time healing in a town that was closer than west city. She’d wasted a lot of time trying to find a person whom would manage her money, given that when she’d met them she was torn up and extremely suspicious looking. After many attempts of convincing, intimidating included, she managed to have someone finance her some equipment and repair it. However, once she got an idea of how much it all cost…
So she was in the town, trying to heal but far too antsy to stay in one place. She slept for two days; that was more than enough to try and get back on her feet! She was walking in the town, a jacket over her shoulders to hide her odd armor and a hood to hide her face. It wasn’t that she was afraid of being recognized – she just didn’t want to deal with people at all. Her face was covered in bandages and if she wasn’t wearing clothing, the bandages around her back would be visible too. She was lucky to have left with her armor at all!
When the hospital didn’t bother to keep her longer, not like they could have since she used the window like a typical teenager; she made a note to return before they missed her. They probably need those bed for patients that can’t heal as fast as I can, anyway, she thought and closed the matter down in her mind. It was upon passing one of the outskirts of town, that she noticed something odd.
Turning to look at a man whom was giving out balloons in an odd suit, with a painted smile on his face, Zerori eyed him with caution and continued walking. That’s really weird… She thought. Then, as it to alert her personally, she saw a very faint explosion of energy that she probably wouldn’t have seen had she gotten interested in the clown. Okay, that’s strange but a lot less weird! Changing direction away from the hospital she was about to return to, she ran in the direction of the beacon toward farmlands.
It was a welcome reprieve from deserts and forests, but if she had to choose between the three: forests were definitely more peaceful. When she finally reached the fading smoke of the beacon she searched for what could have caused it. “Natural disasters look way more dangerous, so… created? Someone needs help or somethin’?” She muttered. It wasn’t until she saw a person nearby with a jacket on that cocked her head curiously. “Uh, hey!” She called, walking toward them, “-You make that thing?” She asked, her voice raised from the distance she was yelling across, “-Usually people don’t do that unless they want attention, so… what do you want?”

It was only a matter of time before someone responded to his signal. With a slight turn of his head, Beryl eyed the rapidly approaching figure in the distance. Even as the stranger neared, Beryl didn’t move or adjust other than to stuff his hands into his pockets. “I did that; yes,” the dark-skinned human replied to the hooded woman, trying to get a good look at their face. Their hood obscured most of their facial features but he was at least able to make out the bandages shrouding her face. He had a mind to point it out, to ask her if she was fine, but he decided against it; it would be better to just answer her questions so that he wouldn’t seem overly suspicious or downright creepy.
“Do you know what’s been going on lately?” Beryl asked, pivoting to face Zerori. “Anything regarding alien activity?” He was starting to sound like one of those UFO chasers. “Earth hasn’t been … peaceful lately and I’m trying to determine what the cause of it is. From what I know, the arrows point towards aliens, those who aren’t native to this planet.” Then, he realized the slight irony in his statement, causing him to crack a small grin. “Now that I think about it, what I just said doesn’t make too much sense,” he admitted, hand reaching to tug at the pair of goggles around his neck. “Ever since ki had been discovered on Earth, not much had ever been the same. Then again, I definitely think ki has done plenty of good for Earth. After all, it has given us a way to defend ourselves.” For a second, the dark-skinned human paused, his visage suddenly becoming neutral, unreadable. “… I apologize. I’ve seemed to gone on one of my tangents again. I hope I’m not taking too much of your time.” A pause.
“If you have other things to do, I won’t hold you any longer.”

When the figure spoke to her, she raised an eyebrow at the manner of speaking; they were a soft kind of type, direct but also tactful. At least he wasn’t like Snippar whom either spoke with insults or cooed with seduction. Remembering it, she flushed and looked off to the side to hide it by looking mighty interested in the boulder besides her. At the mention of aliens, she looked back to him with a contemplative expression. Alien, landing most recently? How could she not feel like her ears were burning? With a smirk, she weighed the options between playing dumb and asking as to why he was interested, or just outing herself as one of those said aliens. After all, Earth seemed to be very welcoming of species that didn’t seemed to be her own.
When he finished speaking, suddenly seeming to shrink in on himself at the thought that he may be wasting her time, she held up a hand resolutely, “Hardly; By the look of you, I’d say you’re interested so I’ll tell you. I just recently pushed body to the limit and then some so these bandages are to recover a little quicker.” Taking her expression a little further, she pulled her hood back to reveal more bandages and her blue eyes to him, “Don’t be so hard on yourself; you seemed to call me here, after all.”
Making a decision on what kind of response she would give, she decided against outing her species just yet. Taking a step toward the boulder she noticed, she sat down with a wince and held her side favorably. “I’ve heard of aliens landing on the planet; some big meteor or somethin’ just crashed out of the sky and landed near West City. Don’t know much about who crawled out of it, but it seemed like they were that bad,” Years of deceit had taught her to keep her face clear of any telling evidence of lies, so when she spoke it would appear as if she were merely speaking of some other alien she might have heard of.
I could always just say it was Snippar anyway, She mused with a mental chuckle.
She switched the conversation around, “So, what’s your interest in them? Besides the Earth lacking peace – which doesn’t seem like a big issue to me – you’ve got some vested interest in aliens. I can see it…” With a tilt her of her head, she pried a bit more, “Are you looking for one for any particular reason?”

Kindness was a scarce resource nowadays. He noticed the quirking of the brow and the somewhat startled silence. Beryl considered himself to be a decent person; unlike many, he didn’t allow his superhuman power to go to his head. Of course, he was superhuman in comparison to the average human. To everyone else in the galaxy, there were plenty who were infinitely more powerful than he was. However, he wasn’t too worried. All he needed was time and dedication and he was certain that he would be able to match the nastiest and strongest fighters the universe had to offer.
His eyes widened as the hood was pulled back, revealing the rest of the woman’s face. Bandages covered her facial features, all a product of intense training. “… You know how to use ki too?” he asked, somewhat shocked. Admittedly, he hadn’t run into many people who could use ki; even though humans had access to it, not many pursued it. It wasn’t for everyone; while every human had the potential to utilize ki, it required specialized training and persistence. Beryl remembered the mess he had to go through in order to manipulate the slightest sliver of ki; those were days he’d rather not relive anytime soon. “… Mm. Yes, you’re right. I did call you out here. I was just worried that I would take up unnecessary amounts of your time,” the twenty-three year old explained, adjusting his beanie. “Still, I cannot help but be interested in your training. If you trained hard enough to warrant those bandages, the results must surely be worth it. You know the saying: nothing ventured, nothing gained.”
As Zerori lowered herself down onto the boulder, the wince caught Beryl’s attention. He frowned in concern but didn’t ask if she was alright; he figured she was, being that she was a martial artist. “A meteor near West City?” Now, he hadn’t heard anything like that before. Interesting. Then, the hybrid presented her own questions. “I want to become more aware of them, to educate myself. If they are coming to Earth as much as they are, then I want to be as informed as possible,” Beryl replied with a small nod. “I’m not looking for one in particular, no. In fact, I’ve been making an extra effort to be careful about running into aliens. Not all of them are … inviting.” He hoped that he wasn’t sounding racist but one would be hard pressed to find the lie in his statement. “Not many humans are able to defend themselves against the other species out there in the galaxy. In a way, you could say humans are easy pickings, prey even.” The young man sighed. “And I don’t want to be viewed as prey or an easy target. That’s what caused me to learn how to use ki. I’ve only been able to use it recently. Obviously, I still have a long way to go but—“ He then looked right at Zerori. “Perhaps I could learn a thing or two from you.”

When he mentioned her having the ability to use ki, or energy, she swallowed and looked away. It was a sore subject with her, but she wasn’t about to tell him that she couldn’t and risk him knowing a secret of hers if she could help it. Instead, she gave a noncommittal shrug and soaked up his apparent praise. She didn’t do it often and found that whenever someone actually enjoyed her presence, she didn’t want to mess it up and ruin her chance to stick around. With an oddly deceptive smile, she gave a nod at the saying, “Indeed, but in my case – don’t overdo it. This is mostly foolishness,” She gestured toward her body with an emphasized wave.
As he spoke about what he was looking for, she reached in her pack to bring a snack bar from its depths. Obviously she enjoyed eating like many saiyans, though her edible needs were no where near as radical. However, her tastes ranged much differently than most warriors with a need for protein. Unwrapping her energy bar, she took a bite and savored the decadent treat. It was double chocolate fudge, by some sort of brand called Special Bao, an energy bar that was made for women to enjoy sweets while dieting. For Zerori, it was a fantastic energy supplement that helped to keep her spirits up.
Finishing a bite, she responded to his fear of aliens, “Well, I can’t say that not all of them are good; that’s true as hell,” Taking another bite, she finished with some granola in her mouth, “-But maybeh you should givf ‘em a chance? S’not like they’re all bad!” She swallowed, a joyful smile on her face. When he asked about learning a thing or two from her, she paused and blinked at him curiously. Wait, did he just ask to learn how to use ki? From her? Blinking again, she looked down to try and think of some sort of reply. She obviously couldn’t use it yet! Or hell, perhaps ever! Did she want to tell him that, though? Not at all!
After a second of thinking, making him seem like she was contemplating whether he was worthy or not, she realized that he didn’t have to know she couldn’t use energy. Using fire could obviously look like the same thing as what other warriors used. It was like Snippar said; ‘Emulate the attacks warriors do, even if it’s not energy.’
With a plan in mind, she crossed her arms – ignoring the pain – and gave a nod. Her smirk was prideful as she told him, “I think I can manage that; but it’ll be the hardest training of your life!” Tilting her head, she clicked her tongue at him, “-Think you can handle it?”

“Foolishness? I suppose you have a point; there is definitely a fine line between hard work and completely overdoing.” Looking at the bandages alone, it seemed obvious then that Zerori had unfortunately overdone it. Could he blame her? Not necessarily. Pushing the body to its limits often involved training, some of which could be absolutely grueling. Seeing the bandages made Beryl reflect back to his beginning days, the days when he tried to find out more about ki manipulation. A shudder went down his spine; he didn’t want to relive those days ever again.
Zerori found a snack bar to eat as she talked with a mouthful of a granola, Beryl did his best to not make it obvious that he was put off by people talking with their mouth full. “You’re right; not every alien out there is bad,” the young man admitted, adjusting the goggles around his neck. “But I can’t help but be careful. If I trust too easily then my kindness can blow up in my face.” That happened far too often for Beryl’s taste; it was sort of the reason why he was somewhat … cautious about whom he acted friendly towards. Anytime the topic of ki popped up, Zerori’s attitude shifted. She clamped up, her eyes darted about and she seemed to be somewhat anxious. However, she did at least agree to show Beryl what she knew, something that the dark-skinned human appreciated. She warned him that the training that he was about to go through was nothing short of hell incarnate.
Even with the foreboding nature of her warning, the twenty-three year old male nodded once and grinned softly. “I wasn’t expecting it to be easy by any means,” he informed, rolling up the sleeves of his black Capsule Corporation hoodie. “But I believe I’m prepared for whatever you are going to throw at me.” It wasn’t a cocky statement, merely a one of humble confidence. Then again, Beryl had eaten his words in the past and he was prepared to do it again if it came down to it.
“So, when do we begin?”

((So sorry for the short post; hopefully it gives ya somethin' to work off of))
“We’ll begin now,” She declared, getting up from her position on the boulder. His confidence wasn’t overlooked so she had to make certain that her little fib would convince him completely. Looking over her disheveled appearance, she realized that the armor she wore would most likely become saturated in blood once more. However if she was going to teach this one about her magic under the guise of it being energy, she had to make some sacrifices. She walked towards the openness of the plains before turning back to him and crossing her arms, “I want you to show me what you know, first. Anything that you can demonstrate and I’ll mirror it as best I can before we begin,” She started to stretch, ignoring the soreness of her muscles and the slight ripping of her skin.
If she wanted to give him a good idea of what aliens were capable of, she didn’t want him to think she was anything but amazing. A tough order for someone whom was weighed down, injured and talking out of her ass. When am I never doing most of those things? She thought with irritation.
“Go ahead…” She then realized she never asked his name, “-erm… human?” She hoped that didn’t just give her away.

They were going to begin now? Well, Zerori wasn't one to waste time, it seemed. With a quiet nod, the human watched as the hybrid rose from her seat, careful to make sure that she didn't irritate her injuries more than needed. She asked for a demonstration, most likely to determine Beryl's skill level. "Understood. I'll try to keep it ... contained." Collateral damage wasn't something that Beryl believed was necessary, even if the two of them were in the middle of nowhere. After assuming a combat-ready stance, one that looked like an ordinary, Southpaw boxing stance, Beryl got to work. He threw several punches, hooks and jabs, all of which were blindingly fast by normal human standards. From that display alone, it was obvious that Beryl wasn’t a typical human. By human standards, he was superhuman and that assertion matched well with his power level, one that was around one thousand times greater than the average human being.
After displaying his fair share of physical strikes, Beryl went on to display his ki manipulation abilities. His left formed into the rough shape of a gun, his index and middle fingers extended outwards whilst the rest of his fingers, excluding his thumb, were curled into his palm. His thumb stuck straight up, mimicking the hammer of a pistol. A small, orange-colored orb grew near the tips of his index and middle fingers. Then, the dark-skinned male cocked his hand back, sending the orb up into the air. The sphere expanded before fragmenting into a shower of small orbs, similar to a shell being fired out of a shotgun. The orbs traveled for a fair distance before dissipating. Not wasting any time, he extended both of his hands forward, his thumbs and index fingers touching together to form a diamond shape. A white-clear blast of concussive force shot out of his palms towards the sky, one powerful enough to send a shockwave throughout the area.
Once the blast dissipated, Beryl turned towards Zerori in order to gauge her reaction. “Alloy Cannon and Capsule Breaker,” he started. “Those are the names I gave those two ki-related techniques. The names are fancier than the actual techniques.” He was being humble, perhaps too humble. He could also fly but he wasn’t sure if it was alright to display that. Then again, he did just shoot energy blasts out of his hands just now. “How did I do?” he asked, readying himself for heavy criticism. “And my name’s Beryl.” He noticed how she referred to him as “human”; to him, another human wouldn’t refer another human by just their species name, even if they didn’t know their name. That alone seemed to give him enough reason to believe that Zerori wasn’t human at all but he kept it to himself; perhaps she would reveal it herself in due time.

So far, everything was going swimmingly; he didn’t seem non-the-wiser about her request to his strength. Even going so far as to say that he’d keep it ‘contained’, like he was amazingly powerful. If she could control energy, she was certain that her being impressed wouldn’t have happened. However, she was absolutely mystified by what he manipulated his energy into. So much so, that it took all of her self-control not to crowd around him like a teenager was being shown a science project that’d never seen before. Instead, she opted to open her mouth and nod at his expression. He named them such interesting designations as well. I need to be careful or I might find myself seeing exactly what those guns can do, however, even as the thought left her she couldn’t stop the grin that tinged her lips.
She really wanted to see it in action!
Giving him a sound of approval, she purred at him, “They’re quite unique, I have to say! Never have I seen something crafted so well from raw energy so color me intrigued,” Getting to a stance that didn’t open her wounds again, she started to hold up her two arms with her palms up, “-This is my energy.” She finished and with a grunt, fire exploded between her fingers. Due to her exhaustion, some of the flames licked at her skin with more heat than she thought good for her and she hid a grimace behind a grin, “Using the elements, I can call forth their power at will.”
When the flames dissipated, and Zerori hoped he didn’t know the difference between the two fundamental expressions of energy, she placed her hands on her hips. “By the way; Zerori. I’m sure you’ll enjoy my training,” How long was she even going to try and keep this charade up? Obviously, she must have slipped quite a few times in her introductions. Feeling that she needed to quickly move the pace along, she dashed towards him and threw a punch square at his face. He could hit and he could manipulate energy – he most likely knew how to fly too since everybody seemed to know how to do that – so now there was only thing left to test.
-Could he dodge? Her speed was nothing to laugh at either, if he tried to avoid her attack. Should he succeed, a grin would be his prize; however, should he fail then a broken lip would be the first thing she’d inflict… among many other wounds later.

She looked interesting. That was a good sign; after all, if he was going to be training under her, Beryl hoped that Zerori retained some kind of interest in him, interested enough to invest time and effort into them. He nodded modestly at the compliments sent his way. “Thank you. I still have plenty to learn; hopefully, I’ll be able to learn much more while training under you.” The hybrid’s change of stance caught Beryl’s attention. So, she was going to show him what she was capable of? Strands of fire erupted from her fingers, the full power of them reduced due to Zerori’s well-understood fatigue. Nonetheless, it was an impressive feat in Beryl’s eyes. Just what manner of power was that? He wanted to say it was ki but it didn’t look like ki, not to him. When he saw ki, he associated it with pure energy, not flames. Was it magic then? No, magic just sounded silly, even in a way, it was very true and it did exist. His dark-brown eyes darted between the woman’s fingers and her bandaged face. “… You can control the elements?” Fire, water, air, earth and everything in between; were all of these at Zerori’s disposal?
She finally revealed her name and Beryl committed it to memory. Him enjoying the training itself was a bit of a stretch; if she was telling any sort of truth, then she had every intention to put him through absolute hell. His lips parted to speak but then he clamped up once the hybrid charged right at him. Acting purely on instinct, the twenty-three year old male dropped into his combat-ready stance, dark-brown eyes zeroing in on the fist barreling towards his fist. Using the minimal amount of movement possible in order to speed up his reaction, Beryl tilted his head towards the right, the woman’s fist almost scraping his cheek. "She's fast."
Still startled, he continued to go through the motion, his right palm shooting out in an attempt to plant itself right in the center of Zerori’s chest. If it hit, she would be pushed back a couple of feet; the blow itself wasn’t painful; it was more for the sole purpose of creating space. “Are we sparring now?” he’d ask, not waiting for an answer. Whether or not his initial palm strike connected, the human would unleash his own chain of physical strikes, a series of fast, rapid punches aimed all throughout the half-demon’s upper body. Her face, her shoulders, her chest; it didn’t matter where he hit, so long as he hit. He was investing so much in his offense that his guard faltered and Zerori would be able to see the opening if she was attentive enough. “Sorry if I hit too hard,” he added, surprisingly not sarcastic in his remark.

"In a matter of speaking, yes," She replied as they exchanged blows. Her first attack was diverted surprisingly enough, though understandably since her fatigue made most of the hits lighter and heavier. However, she wasn't going to let her self be shown up so easily! Their fists contacted and evaded each other, some hitting home and others being swiftly thrown to the side and out impacts' range.
She was focusing on evasion while put everything into his attacks. He's trying to keep me on the run, she realized almost robotically. When she noted what few holes leaked through his guard, she noted with visual irritation that she wasn't going to be able to actually hit him with a body part unless she was willing to take a good one to the face. Maybe I don't have to, she thought quickly before her eyes glared red once more and she leaned back quickly.
Taking a step away from him, she threw a fist down into the ground at his feet and ignited the dirt in a great explosion of fire and white-hot magma. She hoped this would catch him guard enough or her to quickly close distance between them and slam a forehead into his face before stopping at a boulder that was spared her destruction. With a wary glance, she turned to him in a stance, "Nonsense!"

Taking a step back, the Saiyan-Demon hybrid curled up a hand and slammed it into the ground. At first, Beryl didn’t get what the whole maneuver was about but it became extremely clear exactly what Zerori was doing seconds after. Before his very eyes, red hot magma oozed out of the ground like a viscous paste and with it, explosions of fire erupted forth, threatening to batter and burn the dark-skinned human. “Woah!” Funneling ki into his legs, the researcher flew backwards, his feet only an inch or so off the ground as he did so. He brought his arms up, shielding his face from the fiery assault. While the actual magma didn’t touch him (thank Kami), the radiant heat still burned him. Light burns surfaced on his face, centralized around his cheeks. He brought his arms down for a split second to see where Zerori was and he was immediately greeted with a hard, sharp headbutt. The contact made his head spin, his vision blurring. He flew backwards and crashed into a nearby boulder, his form embedding itself into the rock with a loud, crushing sound. With a groan, Beryl blinked his eyes several times as he struggled to gather his bearings. Zerori was perched on top of another boulder not too far from he was, one that was spared from her fire elemental attack from earlier. “She’s really something else.” With enough effort, Beryl was able to wrench himself free from the human-sized hole he created when he slammed into the boulder. His clothing was still mostly intact thankfully and he managed to escape the assault with few bruises and light burns. “You didn’t tell me that you were going to use magma on me,” Beryl announced, shaking his head. “In fact, I didn’t even know you were able to do that in the first place.” Who else could say that they could summon fire and lava at will? If she was going to use her own techniques then Beryl thought it was safe that he was allowed to do the same. The difference was that Zerori had seen both of his techniques while he still didn’t know what else was in her repertoire. Even so, he had some insight on them; they were most likely elemental based, given that’s where her expertise lied. The magma continued to flow from her earlier attack. Whether or not it would harden was out of Beryl’s realm of knowledge. So, for him, it was safe to assume that the magma was still an environmental hazard and that he had to be careful around it. The last thing he wanted was to get his face melted off. Abruptly, he made a “finger gun” at Zerori with his left hand. She would recognize the gesture and possibly what was to come. Two ki blasts shot out from his fingertips, orange and scattered like blasts from a shotgun. They were aimed for her core, her torso and if she dodged them both then that was fine; it wouldn’t thwart what Beryl had in mind. After firing off his ki techniques, Beryl immediately dashed forward, pouring ki into his legs in order to propel him up and through the air. He flew wherever Zerori was and aimed to cut her off if she tried to create distance between the two of them. His fists then started flying once more as he attempted to catch her in a rapid combination of punches. They were aimed primarily for her face though Beryl was careful about hitting too hard; she was still recovering from her past injuries after all. Whether or not his blows were defended against, he channeled ki into his left foot, causing it to glow with a green aura. He then kicked out with the same foot, aiming to plant it right into Zerori’s stomach. The ki blast itself would launch outward though the force behind it was around the same as an ordinary kick; the only perk behind it was that if Zerori could go out of range of the physical kick, the ki orb could still get her. It was an experimental technique Beryl was trying out and even though he used punches and elbows for a majority of his physical strikes, it didn’t hurt to know how to use his legs for strikes as well. “If you keep this magic show up, you’re going to blow the entire Eastern Lands up!” It was a jest but then again it wasn’t at the same time. Beryl wouldn’t have been surprised at all if Zerori had the power to summon a massive geyser of fire, lava and brimstone, one large enough to engulf an entire swath of Earth. There was some crazy shit out there. TECHNIQUES USED:[ Alloy Cannon ] N1 [POWER - 1537PL] Beryl places his palms forward, with the thumbs and index fingers touching each other to form a diamond shape. Then, a diamond-shaped blast of white-clear force shoots from his palms with the ability to deal concussive damage to whatever it connects with.

Standing on the boulder, Zerori couldn’t stop the smugness that radiated off of her when he made a mention of her surprise attack. A few burns were nothing to cry about, so when he shook his head at her she scoffed at him, “Oh yeah? Perhaps next time I’ll just write down my secrets for to enjoy,” her words were heavy with sarcasm even as she had a slight twinkle to her eye. He was an interesting opponent but something about him seemed to tickle at the surface of her presence. He’s a good sport but I can tell he’s holding back. Glancing down at her arms, she eyed them nervously as blood started to soak through the bandages again, Is it because of this? Tch! She would have continued to tease him but tensed at the motion of him making a gesture with his hand.
It was the attack he’d showed her before; a finger blast one, she recalled with a knitted eye brow. As he released a couple of blasts, she opted for a simple block. Sure, it would hurt like hell but something so straight forward had to have some sort of crafty follow up. I won’t be caught off guard! She assured herself as the blast hit. Like painful pricks that impacted and left little red whelps everywhere, the shot-gun like attack was finished and looked back at him to see his next movement.
“Sonofabitch!” She gasped and was hardly able to avoid a single punch towards her face. He’d close the distance between so quickly it left her breathless at how she could react. “K-Keepin’ me on the defense?!” She hissed, painfully working all of her muscles to the brink to even try to dodge. Her face had cuts and bruises from near misses and the knuckle-grazers. One fist went past her brow and knocked into the temple, forcing her to close her eye at the impact. Suddenly, a very prominent lull in attacks allowed her to open both eyes and just barely catch a foot as he threw it towards her body. She snarled at him, “I’m not gonna be made a fool-OOFH!” Even though she caught his foot in her grasp, something very tangible shot out from the limb and toward her stomach.
Thrown from him and pushed a very impressive distance of about ten feet, she landed and ground against the dirt. When she finally came to stop three more feet from him, she groaned and laid on the ground for a few seconds. Ugh; yes, yes - I’ll concede, She thought with irritation as her body throbbed and ached in argument to her adamancy to continue fighting. Raising her head to look at him with a flush on her face and scowl, she replied to his declaration, “Tch, if I could I most likely would have!” Holding up an arm, she showed a single manacle that acted as her weights, “-Weights have the effect…”
After a second more of relaxing her body, she leaned up into a half-sitting position and rubbed her face, “You hit good and your sneak attacks piss me off,” Giving him a look of consternation as she raised a hand to mimic his gesture, “But keep note that anyone can adapt to their opponent,” In a similar fashion as he did, she fired off one shot of flames from her finger, aimed at his hair to slightly singe it, “-So if an opponent shows you one ability, pay close attention to it and try to emulate every part of it.” Getting to her feet, she staggered but didn’t let her exhaustion put a damper on the grin she threw his way, “-even an invalid can catch a clever tack off guard.”
With a final wave, she waved back off, “I need a shower, Beryl! Keep me in mind next time ya wanna play with fire,” She called before turning to make her way back to the city.
