So, with people starting to die, it's time we seriously work on finishing the npc stuff. Here is one suggestion on that aspect:
Volunteer-based NPCs for both Heaven and Hell.
In order to give people a chance to play with others while in the afterlife, I'm suggesting the following idea:
Afterlife character:
Basically everyone is allowed to make a character to play with, that can't leave the afterlife. Those characters are basically your means of making stories with those who went to hell/heaven even if you're still alive. Nevertheless, you can only make a character up to the strength of your 'real' character, and those interactions will be carefully observed to ensure we don't get people trolling others or causing unnecessary grief for some reason or another.
NPC Tutors:
Much more carefully managed than the Afterlife character. When someone wants to be trained a member can volunteer to 'pick up' a villain (or potential 'hero' like a Kai) to play as them. Interactions between the player and an NPC mentor follow a tier-based system. To go further into detail, those tiers basically translate to your 'relationship' with said tutor. A higher relationship will unlock a higher chance for a tutor to teach you a move and such.
However, to prevent people from learning all those awesome moves at once, each player will be limited to a single tutor thread a month. This will basically reward you for staying in hell/heaven longer than normally, but also keeps it balanced in the sense that you're actually spending time with your mentor..
For example, Let's say you were to train under Villain A:
Month 1 is spend as an introduction of sorts, after training with said villain for a month, and experiencing a story (or even several threads depending on your pace) you can unlock the 'basic' move that villain teaches.
Month 2 you spend advancing along the storyline with your villain, at the end of this month learning another move.
At the end of the 3th month you can learn another signature move, and move up in tier (tiers being basic (basically being regular techs) specials (special beam cannon for example) and finally 'ultimate', if you consider that you'd have to die 3 times, or stay up to 7 months in hell to train with ONE mentor to learn their epic attack, you basically learn this is a heavy effort thing. In the end those villains or heroes won't teach you for nothing.
Of course those numbers can and will likely be adjusted.
The idea is basically quite alike to Xenoverse, but I also think that the higher you go in tiers, the higher potential requirements might be.
Finally:
Rewards:
Volunteers can pick Zeni or PL as normally for their 'actual' character, since you're pretty much spending the same time and effort as you would on your main character. However, on terms of bonuses we'd likely need to balance things...
Dunno, but I really feel we should start making work of this
