It had been a long day of goodbyes, of "where are you goings," of airing some final grievances, but it's finally come to a conclusion, for which Rhody is thankful. He wasn't especially disliked in Aru Village, but aside from a bit of local fame for his superhuman baseball prowess and that disastrously brief stint in a karate class, he didn't feel all that important here either. He'd had a part-time job for awhile, but after blowing money on sweets he'll never get sick on, Rhody is unemployed, with all of 500 Zeni to his name. Not that he needed food or shelter, anyway. All he needed, he could carry in a sheath, or in a capsule in his pocket. Speaking of which, he paid one final visit to the lab of the decades-deceased Dr. Thomas Albert where he woke up a bit over a year ago, having tactfully left his sword at home, as he most often does when out about town. He approaches the pile of bones in torn, withered clothes that had held his weapon, with which he usually keeps it. "Er, thanks for this," he says in a slightly high-pitched voice to the remains as he picks up the sheathed weapon they bequeathed to him, slinging it over his back and brushing hair out of his eyes. He's considering a haircut, but that's neither here nor there. Rhody Ohm pauses, taking one last look at the first place he remembers. He can't say he'll miss it.

Floating above the lab, Dopod had noticed someone step into it. What, or who is that? Why do they seems somewhat similar to himself, yet different from the other creatures he had seen scurrying about? He was curious, sure, but his actual investigation of the matter seemed to be driven by something else entirely. A strange feeling, drawing him to the individual. Dopod descended back onto the ground, taking careful, deliberate steps into the lab. For a moment, he stared at the creature from outside. They seemed... oddly familiar. A drive he had felt before was present, one that seems to be yearning for something. Wanting to... achieve something. Something thought impossible by most people. Though. Dopod still couldn't make heads or tails of this urging, and simply stepped inside the lab and stared at the other figure. Making a strange noise in an attempt to make his presence known, not being sure if the language foremost in his head was applicable here. His tail was swaying back and forth rhythmically as he took another step towards the being, not aware of how uncomfortable he was most likely making them. Dopod simply continued to stare, curious and amazed by the diversity of the Earth, and all the wonders it could apparently hold.

Rhody's robotic ears easily picked up the eerie stride of the bio-android behind him, and he is genuinely shocked. No one had ever followed him here before, and these footsteps sound like nothing he's ever heard before. He quickly turns around and draws his sword, pointed in the direction of the guest. "How'd you find this place?!"

Dopod's tail continues to sway back and forth, as he took another step towards Rhody. He understood the meaning of those words, and could reply similarly. What a strange phenomenon that is. He cleared his throat, or at least the closest thing to it in preparation for his first attempt at 'speech'. "I have... been here. I left for the first time only moments ago. It's... big out there."
The Bio-android was a strange kind of excited for this encounter, he was experiencing something this world had to offer for the first time. This was only the tip of the iceberg, too. Although, Dopod still had this feeling he couldn't shake, and his tail moved more erratically the longer he spent around this individual. It was strange. "What are you.... doing here, and what do you hold in your hands?" he asked, glancing around the lab once more.
He was here earlier, he remembered it. Another strange event, and he wondered just how deep the rabbit hole went. Well, he would if he could understand or appreciate that metaphor. The general idea still applied, in any case. He was inches away from the other individual at this point, again not noticing their likely discomfort.

"You've 'been here...' You mean you just woke up in this place?" He slowly puts away the sword. "Sorry for pointing my sword at you-that's what that thing's called, by the way-I've just... Not felt safe here, lately." He sighs, and silence fills the air before he opens his mouth again. "Could you back up a bit?"

Dopod stared at the man across from him, with mostly confusion and curiosity. This creature was... apologizing for pointing a 'sword' at him? Is it dangerous? The bio-android did recall feeling a natural reaction towards the sharp object, one of caution and slight anxiety. Although he had pushed those urges back in favor of discovery. "... Yes, I could." Dopod responded, not budging at all. He simply answered the question he was asked, no more, no less. He then turned his attention to the skeleton draped in tattered clothing, somehow he failed to notice it upon his awakening. Not having much of a mind for tact or other social constructs, the bio-android simply stepped over the corpse, examining the skeleton that lay underneath the clothes.
He had never seen something like this before. It seemed natural, like the trees or animals outside, but it wasn't alive. Though, it didn't seem exactly cold or mechanical like the technology in here. In addition, it had similar pieces of material on it to the individual he was talking to moments ago. Dopod was in constant awe at how much the world had for him to experience.
Realizing the creature near him may have information he couldn't dream of inferring on his own, he slowly turned his head towards Rhody. "Do you know what this is? What purpose it serves? It's origin?" he inquired, tail still moving constantly, and still feeling a strange urge that he couldn't quite place a name for. It had been almost constant since he laid eyes on this man who seems to have some relationship with his birthplace. There was most likely a connection, but Dopod was more curious about things that didn't pertain to himself for now.

Fidgeting a bit from the continued closeness of this stranger, Rhody answered the question, "it's a skeleton. Most humans and animals have them, made of bones, under their skin and muscles. They provide structure, and tend to be the last thing to decompose when someone dies." Finally becoming fed up with this closeness, he nervously added, "...please back away a bit, since I didn't make it clear it was a request. I got the same way when I first woke up too, but people get uncomfortable if you stand too close."

For a good while, he just continued to stare at the skeleton intently. Studying it, feeling it familiar somehow. "... I see." Dopod finally replied, re-posturing himself and taking a few steps backwards. "When someone dies..." he spoke not out of confusion, or really towards Rhody at all. Mostly speaking to himself, he thought about the concept. It seemed very familiar. Yes, he certainly knew 'death' well, though he wasn't quite sure how. He closed his eyes and continued silently contemplating similar concepts for a few moments, surrounded by the constant humming and whirring of nearby machines.
It was a considerable amount of time before Dopod spoke again, this time another inquiry. "What else do you know about these... people and animals, you mentioned?" More concepts that the bio-android felt he knew on some level, but couldn't quite place exactly what they were at the time. He wanted to know though, he wanted to experience everything this world had to offer, and to see the vast beauty in all of that.
"Can you... show me?" The prospect of meeting people clearly excited him, as his tail swayed more quickly. Whether or not this was a good thing was far from clear. He once again turned his attention towards the exit. Although he had seen it before, the expansiveness of the land still amazed him. It was truly something special. The vastly different types of plant and animal life. The structures that seemed natural, yet unliving. It was all a bit much for him to take in, even now.

"Well, there's a town just West of here. It's small, and I was planning on leaving to find something bigger after today, but I guess I could take you in for one last visit..." He heads towards the lab's exit, looking towards the bugman. "I'll fill you in on the basics of Aru Village culture while we're flying there-er, you can fly, right?"

Dopod simply answers "Yes." before hovering, then quickly flying out of the laboratory. He once again flew high above lab, taking in the sights and sounds around him. Seeming to 'zone out' for a few moments before turning towards the lab's entrance, looking at Rhody and waiting for him. "Where do we go?" he asks, glancing around and hoping to spot the village from his current vantage point.

"This way," Rhody says, starting to be used to Dopod's eccentricities, and pointing in Aru's direction before flying out that way. As they fly, he gives a basic explanation of ordinary human etiquette whose details aren't particularly worth mentioning in detail, as well as a bit about himself. "I call myself Rhody Ohm," he said, pronouncing it like "Rhodium," "been living in this area for the past year or so. Dunno how I didn't notice you with how much time I spent at the old lab."
