Vi-Poi hmphed at her insinuation that he should drink tea. Did she think he looked like a creampuff? He smoothed over the front of his suit jacket, flushing slightly with green repair gel at the embarrassing thought. “I like coffee.” He responded with hooded eyes.
He was glad to hear of her acceptance of his general plan, although he could tell there was some reservation in her demeanor. Reikiko also surprised him with her penchant for stratagem. Did Chimera plan for her to rule, as an extension of her dominance? The idea was an interesting one, and Vi-Poi’s cerebral circuitry was warming to several possible avenues of such development. He knew the Volunteer Corpsmen would be heavily bloodied in the fight, but they knew it, too. Vi-Poi had left no one with any illusions. This would be a great struggle, one they might all very well lose.
He agreed at once with her designation as mercenary, and explained that he’d already drawn up the formalization for freelance contracts, of which she would be the first to sign. “Also… you are more than a contractor, Reikiko. Blue Banner plots aside, you are my friend.” He added.
When she left, Vi-Poi spent his time in meditation, watching the clouds. The Poi id of his, that old and familiar friend that had left his imprint along each microcircuit of his body, was in high peak since she came aboard. He needed more than anything in these hours before Operation Downfall a sense of calm that only his cool analytical side could bring. There was no telling what sort of problems they would face in the West Capitol. Vi-Poi could easily find himself exchanging ki blows with those he’d once considered on good terms with.
Such was the price of change. Real change. The effective kind. People had the startling habit of resisting it, even when all logic and all reason were against them. After his meditation Vi-Poi reviewed the latest status reports from the Ki Assault Operations Squad. They were growing stronger, and doing so more quickly. After the crucible of Downfall, they would grow even stronger. While Reikiko worked, he did some martial training of his own, but was not yet ready to use the Gravity Chamber again. His synthetic muscles were still too impacted by his last session, and would need much relaxing before he was able to meaningfully train under the stress and strain once again.
Time slipped by, and the zeroth hour for the invasion approached. The mood in the ship was and of the entire crew was one of tense excitement when he arrayed himself in his personal office, a small and unassuming room brightly lit on one side by an interactive wallscreen. Mission timetables and real-time video of Blue Banner’s soldiery at work played, overlay with several diagnostic reflections of Vi-Poi’s own systems. On his desk was a single book -- a transcription of several works on ki science, which he kept as an emblem of progress, and an ashtray he’d found in the ruins of Red Ribbon’s headquarters. Vi-Poi didn’t smoke, and found the process utterly inefficient and somewhat distressing, but something had drawn his circuits to the item.
When Reikiko arrived, he bowed his head in greeting and offered her a seat in a plush and leathery chair across from him. “The time draws near.” Vi-Poi said softly. “You must have guessed by now that I am not motivated to rule Earth. And though I genuinely believe this planet needs to be more efficient in how its lifeforms interact with one another, correcting the situation and safeguarding the biosphere is not my main focus… Blue Banner, at its heart, is an organization dedicated to finding magical artifacts.”
“The global military has been a thorn in Blue Banner’s side, just as they were a thorn in Red Ribbon’s side, thousands of years past.” Vi-Poi’s large blue eyes caught the soft silver glow of the wallscreen, producing a strange glimmer to his gaze. “More than a thorn. Red Ribbon was on course to receiving the Dragon Balls, but something destroyed them. It must have been the military, their hostile peers. And Red Ribbon never found those magic foci because of it. I intend to stop history from repeating itself. With the magic of materialization in our possession, with just one of those orbs in my hands I may…” He trailed off in hesitation, thinking of Poi and the possibility of his revival. Would he be able to repay the debt to him, after all? Would he be able to rectify the memory that wouldn’t go away, of Poi pounding on glass, suffocating, unable to breathe while he’d been helpless to do so much as to activate a lever and save him? “I may be able to do good.” Vi-Poi said, folding his hands in his lap.

A friend... the term had left her with a mixture of feelings. At one side there was the 'human' side to her, that felt both happy and embarrassed at the thought of being called a friend, but at the same time there was that darker side to her. A side that warned her that having Vipoi as a friend would be dangerous. It was rather logical once one looked back at the recent events. She had grown close to Tamako, her mentor who was both a friend and master, to the point there was such a strong sense of affection that she might had considered her akin to an elder sibling... and that bond was brutally severed when Yuriko revealed herself before them. It was clear to her that until the day Yuriko died, not a single person precious to her would be able to remain safe. Her sister would end up doing anything within her capacities in order to strengthen the grudge and grief Reikiko felt, and gods knew that Yuriko had plenty of capacities available for that. It was for that reason she had also been planning a different course of action, but for the time being she simply tried to avoid commenting about the friend bit.
The subject soon returned to their initial focus: her desire to learn what Vipoi was truly planning. It seemed the android had planned to continue some sort of legacy, for it seemed the Blue Banner their primary focus was to obtain magical artifacts, and this meant most likely that Vipoi would be searching for the Dragon Balls also. The short pause in Vipoi's speech surrounding the use of those magical wish-granting objects hinted there was a deeper issue at hand, a thought that might had haunted the android, but when he finally spoke, saying he planned to do deeds that were considered 'good' in nature, she couldn't help but turn her gaze sideways for a bit.
"You do realize that with your current plan it is very likely that you'll become considered nothing but a glorified conqueror?"
She paused for a moment, thinking back about how he mentioned his militaristic strategies from before. The android was planning a liberation, but in the eyes of others it could have been just as much of a conquest. She was uncertain what Scargot would have to say about it, even if he was able to read the android's thoughts. Would a 'the end justifies the means' be enough to convince the Namekian about his intentions? All in all it was quite a similar scenario like her own.
"Let us assume for a moment that you succeed with your plan. If you were to return your focus onto the dragon balls, it will be very likely that Uncle--- I mean the Kami of this world will be aware of your actions at West Capitol. What will you do if he considers you no longer worthy of learning the secrets of those dragon balls, should they exist? If you intend to use violence, know beforehand that you be best to dispel that foolish notion, for I will allow none to harm him..."
It was the only thing she could do for him at this point. Even if she was likely going to become rejected by him after the sins she planned to commit, at least she would try to ensure no danger befell the Namekian. If worst came to worst, and he did show up... then she would be the one to deal with him.
"If only there was an alternative way to obtain this knowledge..."
For a moment she sighed deeply, before turning her gaze back at Vipoi. It was time for them to get back onto the subject of their operation. As if on cue the girl's body seemed to shimmer and fade, a white cocoon of energy coiling around her body, and after a moment it faded away to reveal the familiar green-haired child that Vipoi had seen in the forest so many weeks ago.
"I believe this form will be suitable. Your troops will simply assume I'm a very talented mercenary, to have obtained the respect of their administrator at such a young age, yet I will suggest that we also introduce my bio-android form. However, let us twist the tale a little."
She paused for a moment, folding her hands on her lap as she took a seat and continued speaking.
"Reveal the following information to your troops: The mercenary Reikiko is capable of changing her form. If on the battlefield anyone addresses herself with the title 'Chimera', know that she is an ally. While I don't plan to reveal my appearance right away, there might be a time I'll have to drop my disguise, for I can't devour someone in this form... It would be kind of creepy to see a human girl having a tail grow out of her body to suck away the essence of the fallen."
She chuckled briefly before taking a deep breath. It seemed that things were about to get serious soon.
"Well Robo boy, I guess you should introduce me to your 'friends'. However, note that if you end up introducing me as your girlfriend I will hit you."
Winking teasingly in response she slowly rose out of the chair, before having her smile fade away.
"I got my revenge that drives me. My desire to avenge my mentor is going to make me able to deal with the hatred and grief that I will cause. But what about you Vipoi? Are you prepared to become a monster? What drives you to take such a dark and lonely path."
For a moment she turned back at him, gently reaching for his hand with her own, before smiling gently at him.
"Be careful before you start walking this path. While you will not walk it alone, you will have the very people you once called friends possibly turn into enemies tomorrow."
Despite her gentle tone, those words were partly said to both of them. For she knew that she was going to be in just the same situation as him.
"It's a tragic role, but some of us have to play the villain in order to allow a future of prosperity. Albeit yours is the more tragic one. I'm merely becoming a villain so I can avenge my sensei, and prevent anyone else from suffering her fate. But you're going to become a villain for the sake of allowing a better future to rise out of it."

Vi-Poi smiled at her worrying over Scargot. “Have no fear on that account, Reikiko. I need no information the Kami as you call him could divulge verbally, only the briefest of surveys – non-invasive, of course -- of his nucleotide sequences. You have my word, he won’t be harmed.” He’d already found the Global Dragon Radar, in his encounter with Zucceta. Now he only needed the proper sample from the host to properly reactivate it. “I’m no longer scrambling in the dark, as I once was.”
Vi-Poi rumbled uncomfortably in his voice synthesizer as she jested about his introduction of her as his girlfriend. He very nearly squirmed with embarrassment and inexplicable shame at the idea, but was able to restrain himself.
As she stood and delivered her question about becoming a monster, Vi-Poi responded neutrally, “There is no such thing as monsters.” As for being alone, he was used to it.
He stood from his chair and guided her to where the troops were marshaled.
Neatly arrayed in the Deck Eight Garden was a battalion of Blue Banner’s finest Corpsmen. These would be on the vanguard during the battle, and among the first besides KAOS to enter the city. They stood in perfect order among the rows of budding flowers and the newly planted apple tree at the Garden’s center. Vi-Poi inspected them with his keen blue gaze, information scrolling behind his eyes as he assessed ten thousand different qualities at once. “People of the Revolution.” He said, raising a two fingers to his brow, elbow out in salute. It had become something like their unofficial salute, though Vi-Poi wasn’t certain of its origins.
Although there were microphones present on the dais, he did not need one. His voice could be amplified several times over. “Tomorrow, you will join comrades from across the world. You will be deploying in the largest battle this world has seen in centuries. The walls of the tyrannical military will shatter. Your enemies will flee before you, torn apart by their own selfish interests. We will be united, united in our common cause for true peace, and true equality.” His voice rose, and took this time to dramatically peer across the vast greenhouse. “In this fight, you will have allies. People of the Revolution – this is Reikiko.” He gestured a hand to the green-haired girl beside of him with large heterochromatic eyes. “She is a mercenary, codenamed Chimera, one that sees the value in our struggle. Like many you have seen in KAOS, Reikiko has special gifts. She is able to change her form, and become stronger – much in the way we wish the world to change and be stronger.”
Vi-Poi stepped out of the way now to allow Reikiko to present herself, and added as a jest, “She’s also the winner of Blue Banner Idol.” He grinned at Reikiko teasingly.

The gathering before her was rather impressive in its own right. Not only did Vipoi seemingly possess the means to summon what most would call an army to his side, he also had the resources and tactics at his disposal to use them wisely, a pretty dangerous combination if one considered their potential. While Vipoi started his speech, explaining that they would soon be entering a battlefield where they be facing countless potential enemies, the idea of finding new allies before such a battle was invigorating to most of the troops. However, as she idly wondered about whether those men were truly able to call themselves prepared, knowing that they might not return the next day... the words that followed caused the soldiers to break out in cheers.
"It's true! Our very own Battle Idol is joining the fray?!"
Battle idol? Now that was a new one. Since when did idols join an event that involved slaughtering each other? Nevertheless, it seemed the words helped encourage the soldiers for several more of them broke out into loud cheers.
"Oh hells, those guys better be prepared, I'm not letting even ONE of them near our Reikiko!"
Who the heck had just decided that she was 'their' Reikiko? Last time she checked she had yet to be declared some sort of public property. However, perhaps this had all been a part of some strategy the android had prepared to help prepare the troops for their upcoming battle. Many of those were going to die, likely never to see the next dusk... so perhaps she could at least play along with the act.
"U-Umm... I'll be in your care everyone. Let's free the world together!"
And then it seemed her simple words had caused the crowd to break out into louder cheers, almost like a bunch of hyperactive kids on a sugar rush. Some of the soldiers said to leave everything to her, others even used some incredibly embarrassing nicknames, but while the crowd cheered onwards she merely bowed lightly, turning toward Vipoi. Oh, if he was going to tease her, then she was going to pull a coup de grâce! Turning toward Vipoi she gently wrapped her small arms around his arm before leaning in to lightly kiss his cheek, whispering several words under the softest of breaths.
"This will be a much more suitable punishment than hitting you for that comment."
And oh boy, it seemed Vipoi was about to realize soon what she meant, because amidst the large crowd that had gathered before them, the whole male population among them had turned to glare daggers at the android, clearly from bitter jealousy.
"GOD DAMD IT! I'm going to do my best so much that Rei-Rei will give me a smooch also!" "Stop smiling so goofily administrator!"
And with those words she left the lounge, smiling inwardly at the situation she had left Vipoi in. However, despite the liveliness in the lounge Reikiko couldn't help but feel the burden of the responsibility she had placed on her own tiny shoulders. Even if Vipoi told her that monsters didn't exist, then she would become the first one in existence. In the end she had been prepared to commit some of the greatest taboos that would be done on that day, all for the sake of obtaining the power she desired, the power she needed.
"Guess I should get ready..."
In the end she did have one thing left to do before she could leave the Big Blue. Walking toward the deck that contained the special garden that Vipoi had planted for her on the ship, Reikiko looked with a hint of amazement at the large tree. It truly was a thing to behold, especially if one considered the fact that the tree's soil was pretty much artificial in nature. This wasn't a forest or a farmland, but an actual deck of a ship, so it was a bit outlandish, and even difficult for her to image how the tree was able to grow. Gently she hovered off the ground, raising her hands upwards to pluck an apple from its branches, and while taking a bite from it tried to think about the events to come. Vipoi and the Blue Banners were about to start their liberation attempt, while she herself was going to prepare to find a suitable prey for her to feast on.
"However, am I not doing the same thing as her?"
Obtaining strength by any means possible... That sounded like something a Chimera, no... something that Yuriko would do. Still, if she recalled right Yuriko obtained her semi-perfect form by devouring the person she had once called her friend, a sin so dark that it would be considered taboo even for Reikiko, at least for Reikiko the way she was right now. Her eyes clouded with a hint of gloom in them, and with soft steps she made her way to the hangar of the ship. She was about to get ready to leave, but the sound of rushed footsteps made her turn around, noticing a familiar face looking at her.
"Leaving so soon?"
It was Ensign Hikari, a hint of concern onto the girl's face as she saw Reikiko prepare to leave the ship. For a moment the bio-android had gone silent, seemingly considering how to respond before having her lips curve up into a small smile of her own.
"I still got some unfinished business to attend to before tomorrow's big event."
Tomorrow was the day a lot of the soldiers she had met, and even talked to would die, pawns in Vipoi's ambitions. All in all this was like a figuratively piece of chess. Then what would that make her? A Queen perhaps?
"Make sure to return alive Reikiko."
Before she was even able to move Reikiko found a pair of arms wrap around her, her small delicate frame being pulled into a hug, and for a moment the bio-android felt her cheeks flush up lightly in embarrassment at the show of affection. She truly wasn't used to the entire aspect of 'being hugged' by someone, and yet to call it unpleasant would have been a lie... for she felt a certain loneliness once their hug ended and she left the ship to prepare for what was up ahead...
There was one thing left for her to do before she would head out into the battlefield, there was still some unfinished business she had to handle before she could head toward West Capitol to join Vipoi and his army on their operation. It was for that reason the bio-android had returned to the Bamboo Forest, the place where it all began. She had left the Big Blue early in the morning, descending into the direction where the forest had been located. She had after all promised Aspergia that she would pay her a visit, the Saiyan having told her that she needed some time alone for a bit, but still wanted to talk. It was for that reason Reikiko was standing in front of the cave, letting her ki presence serve as a beacon to draw the warrior out.
"Took you long enough."
The Saiyan sighed softly, gesturing for her to follow the woman into the cave. The cave seemed to had been left mostly unchanged from before. A campfire, a bedroll and some canned goods were spread around the deepest reaches of the cave. For a moment Reikiko had considered on how to explain her intentions to Aspergia, when finally she started speaking.
"I'm... going to absorb someone in the near future."
Aspergia's eyes seemed to betray just the slightest hint of surprise, turning to look at Reikiko with a rather serious expression. If Reikiko was going to absorb someone, then it likely would all be in order for her to obtain enough power to challenge Yuriko. Nevertheless, it was debatable what purpose that challenge held.
"Are you sure that you wish to commit such an act?"
To absorb someone, to devour them was a taboo that neither her mentor or Scargot had ever approved of. Nevertheless, Reikiko couldn't help but believe that this was the only method left for her to take. Taking a deep breath the girl soon replied.
"It's for Tamako's sake... If I don't ascend into a semi-perfect form I will never be able to avenge my master by slaying Yuriko. It's for that reason I'm planning to head to West Capitol tomorrow. Please stay away from there."
It was a request asked with genuine concern, something that made Aspergia chuckle briefly before letting out a loud sigh of annoyance. To think a little bio-android was actually asking her not to get in danger. It was bitter irony when one kept in mind that they had once been enemies.
"Whatever, just... don't die, Tamako wouldn't have wanted for you to die."
At those words Reikiko chuckled briefly, tapping her chest with a grin, the soft sound of her knuckle hitting the carapace resounding through the cave.
"I'm not going to go down that easily."
No, she had allies to work alongside with, perhaps even more than she would have had enemies. However, she wasn't going to delude herself by thinking that she was going to have no form of resistance to face. It was obvious that strong foes were going to show up tomorrow, foes that might had been too strong even for her.
"Are you going to visit her---"
For a moment Reikiko seemed to consider the idea, before nodding her head lightly in return. Perhaps it would have been a good idea for her to visit that place first. Maybe it would give her the final bit of resolve she needed before going onto the battlefield. Turning her back toward Aspergia Reikiko waved a hand in a parting gesture, before making her way out of the cave. It didn't take her much longer before she reached the small riverbank, and upon crossing it she would have had only needed to climb a small pathway that would lead her toward the cliff where the wooden cottage had been.
She had been told earlier that Vipoi had commanded some of his troops to go and repair the cottage, understanding that it had some emotional meaning to Reikiko. Still, to return there was still a sensation that haunted the bio-android with unfamiliar feelings. How long had it been since she had been here? Only a few days in fact... and yet it felt like years. The place seemed to had been left mostly unchanged, at least aside from the gravestone that was located nearby a tree. While initially she planned to approach it, Reikiko couldn't help but find herself stopped in her tracks by the sight of the large apple tree next to the grave. Slowly ascending into the air the bio-android plucked an apple from one of the branches and landed next to the grave.
"Is this the right thing to do?"
Whispering those words Reikiko stared deeply into the apple, while finding her mind being slowly pulled back into a moment of nostalgia. It had been a memory of her time spend training with Tamako. Despite her best efforts to master all of the Crane school teachings, Reikiko found herself struggling with the final technique her master had to teach her. Understandably so, not only was the Kikoho a powerful technique, but it was also incredibly taxing on the body. It was something to be considered an ace card, and yet Reikiko couldn't help but wonder if it was going to be wise for her to learn such a technique. Not only had it seriously injured her sister, but the one time she herself tried to use it... the pain had been so unbearable that she nearly died.
"You'll master it in due time Reikiko. The reason for this is that the Kikoho is a special technique."
Turning around to face her mentor Reikiko watched Tamako smile calmly at her, a hand raised to pet the girl's head.
"A special technique?"
Tamako nodded her head firmly in response, while continuing her explanation with a smile.
"The Kikoho is a technique one can only truly master, when they possess a need for it. Some say that it's even a technique that resonates with your very soul."
A technique that one could only truly master in the time of need? Did such a thing even exist? It sounded just a little bit ridiculous to her, but she doubted Tamako was the type to joke around on a matter like that.
"Let us take a break for a moment."
The bio-android released a sigh of relief at those words, dropping out of her combative stance while following her mentor to a nearby tree where she had left a basket. To her surprise the basket was filled with various food, including several delicious-looking apples! Noticing the look of excitement in Reikiko's eyes Tamako raised an apple out of the basket and playfully placed it on top of the girl's stinger, causing her tail to swish back and forth happily, while a blush flushed onto the girl's cheeks.
"Hehe~ That look of yours when you absorb an apple is really adorable."
Hearing those words the blush of embarrassment turned even stronger, causing the bio-android's tail to flail around even more wildly.
"Uguu... shut up sensei!"
Soon the sound of laughter filled the forest as the two of them returned to their conversation. Reikiko had to admit that she had rarely felt such a delight being near someone, in fact the only person she had ever felt such a sensation for before was Scargot. Perhaps this was how someone felt when they made a friend?
Still, slowly Reikiko found her mind drifting back toward reality. It was sad that such a time had been left in the past, something that would never be able to return. Tamako had died, and there was simply no way for her to fix that failure. Perhaps it was that loss, that suffering that had given her desire for power a meaning, a purpose even. She now wanted to obtain more power in order to kill her sister, a death that would prevent more people from suffering Tamako's fate. However, was her quest for vengeance enough to justify the sins she was about to commit? She was going to potentially kill innocent people, even devour some of them in order to ascend into a semi-perfect form. Was this a scenario of a 'the end justifies the means', or was she merely trying to glorify her own crimes, to make people accept her sins?
"I won't care about their acceptance. Such kind-hearted thoughts led to your death, and will only lead to more suffering."
Taking a deep breath Reikiko looked toward the grave, and noticed that soon the clouds up above had darkened... it was starting to rain.
It's alright... you can cry. Nobody else is here either way
And then it happened....
The sound of thunder rumbling in the distance was accompanied by the feeling of cold rain pouring down onto her carapace. Although the feeling of the cold rain was a refreshing sensation, it did little to cool down the hatred within her heart, nor did it provide her with the comfort she sought. Silently her eyes looked at her surroundings, the telltale of the battle that had unfolded here being mostly erased. The wooden cottage had been repaired with some help from Aspergia, who was willing to use some human associates of her in order to see the reconstruction of the cottage done into the way it had been before, but aside from that there was still the unusual open space a small distance away from the cliff the cottage was on. She could still remember how strong that attack from Vipoi had been, and she was certain about the fact that if the android had not showed up to help her.. she would likely have suffered a worse fate. Then again, when her eyes turned back toward the lone gravestone near one of the nearby trees Reikiko couldn't help but wonder if there had been any worse fate than the one she experienced so far.
"I failed..."
A soft whisper escaped her parted words as she placed a small red-colored fruit before the gravestone, the symbolic purpose of the tribute being far more precious than any collection of flowers could have been. To her an apple was the most precious gift of all, so for her to actually willingly give away one of them was a sign of deep respect. Of course she held such a strong respect for the person who had recently departed from the mortal realm. In the end it was her mentor's grave, the woman who was one of the few individuals she could genuinely call a friend, and if she had been a human being she might had even been able to call her a sister. This was the grave of Tamako, her mentor... a gravestone that served both as a memorial for several months of blissful joy, and also a memory of her failure.
"Why... Why did you have to die?!"
Finally her voice had raised in volume, the bio-android shouting in an attempt to get an answer, and yet the only one to answer her was mother nature, for another bolt of lightning struck in the distance. The sheer amount of grief had been so overwhelming she found her legs slowly collapse forwards, causing her to land on her knees, and once more that bitter thing known as tears started to flow down the corner of her eyes. She had failed to protect Tamako, and the worst of it all was that Tamako had perished because she defied her sister's wish. It was all her fault, and it was undeniably a loss she suffered because she was weak.
"What should I do? Tell me Tamako!"
And yet the only answer she received was eerie silence. The rain continued to ruthlessly pour down onto her tiny frame, and for a moment Reikiko couldn't help but feel that at this point the emotions coursing through her mind were so painful that no injury could ever match them. Of course that was understandable, most injuries were able to be healed through the use of medication or regeneration but the pain she was feeling was a wound of the heart, a pain that only time and other people could heal. And even then, she feared that this wound was so deep that not even Scargot would be able to mend it for her.
"If this is how emotions feel like... then I don't want to feel them anymore."
Her sobs were silenced under the sound of the rain and distant thunder, and within the depths of her consciousness Reikiko could feel a familiar presence resurfacing. It wasn't Keiko, in the end her sister seemed to had held no words of comfort nor mockery for her failure, instead it seemed to be that familiar presence of her own self.
It was because I was weak that I lost the one precious to me.
And as long as she continued to remain weak it was a suffering that would simply repeat itself given time. No, if she wanted to prevent herself from suffering like this again, then she would have needed to grow stronger. However, how would one be able to obtain such a power? Her sister had already ascended into a semi-perfect state of being, and there was simply no way for her to become capable of besting Yuriko the way she was right now. No... it would require a lot more before she would be able to challenge an overwhelming power like that. What she required was a power that simply couldn't obtained by normal means.
Although Scargot and Tamako had often told her that following a righteous path, and training diligently would allow her to obtain the power and purpose she sought, she had to wonder at what cost that came? In the end she had been training hard for so long already, and look where it got her... It made her become nothing but a toy for her sister, and led to the death of her mentor. No... While their motives were noble and pure, she found that their teachings were flawed. Or rather, they weren't suited for her. By following their example she had tried to become a 'good' person, but during the progress she had also abandoned her true self. She had fooled herself with the idea that she was able to become more 'human' in nature, even obtaining a disguise of sorts. However, no disguise could erase the fact that she wasn't a human being. She was a parasite who flourished on the act of devouring other people, draining their essence and making it her own in order to grow stronger. If she was to become strong enough to challenge Yuriko, then there was simply no way for her to not acknowledge that fact.
"I'm sorry Tamako... But I promise I'll carry out your legacy, and avenge your unfair death."
Despite those confident words her weeping continued for a little longer, before she rose back onto her feet, and it was at this time that Keiko manifested beside her. Her crimson-colored sister looked at her with a look of concern in her eyes, knowing all too well what Reikiko was planning. In the end they shared the same body, and she knew now that Reikiko was planning to abandon all she had been given by those she treasured, just so she could obtain her revenge.
"Are you sure about this? If you follow up with your intentions I doubt your Namekian 'Uncle' will acknowledge you any longer."
Keiko had a point... If she did what she had planned, then it was very likely that Scargot would refuse to forgive her. The act she was about to commit would go against his very teachings, and there was no denying the fact that if she wanted to obtain the power to challenge her sister, then she had to follow up with her intentions.
"This is the only way Keiko, if I don't obtain the power to challenge my sister, then it's just a matter of time before this repeats."
There was no avoiding that, her sister would certainly continue to target anyone she even hinted of liking, and that meant it was just a matter of time before Scargot would be killed. If protecting him meant going against his very teachings, perhaps even become hated by him... then so be it.
"So what's the plan?"
If she wanted to obtain enough power, then she needed to return to the roots of her origin. A being like her didn't only obtain power through training, but also through the use of her unusual properties to absorb and evolve. If she wanted to become powerful enough to ascend into a semi-perfect state of being, then she needed to devour someone with a noticeable amount of power. She had encountered several strong individuals before, but only a few of them fit the needs she had. Then again, Vipoi did mention a certain event that could lead to some opportunities for her. That event would likely draw in some very powerful resistance, and if she obtained an ally out of Vipoi and his 'organization', then she might had an even easier way of gaining the power she sought. Nevertheless, while she cared little for the politics and reasons behind the android's organization, and their ambitions it didn't change the fact that they were useful to her own ambition. If lending them a hand would allow her to get stronger, and perhaps even obtain a suitable prey, then she wouldn't mind blowing up a few things.
"I'm going back first."
Slowly ascending into the air the bio-android flown into the direction of the timeless lookout. To some it might had sounded odd for her to return there after she had been so determined to abandon the things that represented her good side, but a part of her still desired to see the timeless lookout before she would carry out her plan. Finally after about an hour of flying Reikiko landed on the large platform that housed the temple, and slowly walking up toward it the bio-android decided to do what she came here for.
Silently the girl had transformed into her human form, grabbed a piece of paper and started to scribe onto it. There was another symbolic meaning behind using her human disguise, in the end what she was doing right now was pretty much parting from everything that represented her 'human' self, so the least she could do was adapt her form to it.
Dear Uncle, As you likely are aware already I recently failed to protect one of the people precious to me. Her loss weighted heavily on me, and with the knowledge that my sister will not rest until I obey her wishes... I have no choice but to challenge her in a suitable fashion. Unfortunately this means I have to acknowledge my true self. Despite your kindness to treat me like a normal person, I still am a bio-android, a parasite that feeds onto others in order to evolve. It is for that reason, to protect the remaining people I treasure that I'll have to leave behind the happiness I found alongside you. Thank you for everything and...
Farewell Uncle. Reikiko
Briefly closing her eyes the girl rapidly brushed her sleeved arm over her eyes, as if to conceal the tears that had emerged before she slowly dropped her weighted clothes, her body having changed back into her bio-android form before she ran out of the temple, and with a sudden surge of ki blasted off into the distance. This was it... there was no turning back now. In order to obtain her revenge she had to abandon everything, and if that was going to grant her a chance to avenge her mentor, then it was a price she was willing to pay.
"I should prepare myself for the moment when I need to act..."
Whispering those words the bio-android decided to fly into the general direction of a certain city. She knew some of the android's plans, and she was preparing her own moment of when to strike. She was ready to sacrifice everything and everyone in order to obtain the power she needed. Nevertheless, if that was what it took to ascend into more perfect state of being, then so be it.
She had landed on top of a skyscraper that overlooked the city, her feet slowly grasping a hold of the railing while her tail swished back and forth through the air. She was ready for the big show, and hopefully the people who would show up were enough to give her the entertainment she needed. There was no telling now what would happen... For Reikiko had gone onto the war path!
It was at that point that it seemed things were about to begin when a large battleship hovered over the city. For a moment Reikiko couldn't help but find her lips curving up slightly, raising one of her hands to her forehead while shaking it lightly in response.
"How ridiculous, to think that the robo boy had such a financial means at his disposal..."
However, the announcement that followed, one that ringed through the entire city caused her smile to widen, and finally burst out into a laughing fit. How ridiculous, to think Vipoi was such an actor! Did he seriously expect that people would consider him anything but a terrorist after that announcement? Of course knowing him, there was some sort of scheme behind it all, and it would be only a matter of moments before it revealed what that scheme would be, when the next video broadcast flashed on a large screen down from across the street.
"Disguising yourselves as Saiyan mercenaries to place the blame onto another, and then take the spotlight as a hero. You're a magnificent bastard."
This was getting interesting, very interesting! As the flood of refugees were fleeing toward the outskirts of the city Reikiko decided it was time for her to act. Briefly the bio-android closed her eyes, raising her head to look toward the sky while whispering in a soft, barely audible tone.
"I guess I have no choice but to go with my own plan sensei..."
Whispering those words the bio-android opened her eyes once more, a look of determination in her eyes while she hopped of the skyscraper. Rapidly she descended toward the street where a bunch of refugees were fleeing, and when she came into view the sound of several started screams came from some of them. For a moment her tail swished forward, fluently puncturing the back of one of the refugees while the stinger on top of the appendage started to suck his energy away. It was a progress that repeated several times, until at last the sound of gunfire drew her attention. Several armed soldiers had rushed toward the scene, seemingly trying to deal with the source of the refugees fears. Surely she hated the fact she had to do something ridiculous like feeding on some weak humans, but for the time being she needed to gather all her energy for the upcoming confrontation. The small unit of soldiers raised their guns toward her, a volley of bullets reflected on her carapace before she raised a hand upwards.
"You're not the ones I seek..."
Within a moment a surge of ki manifested within her outstretched hand, a sphere of energy glowing dramatically before being tossed toward the troops. It seemed the single ki grenade was more than effective enough for her to obliterate the couple of soldiers that had spotted her, for their corpses had been scattered, and some even scorned beyond recognition.
"There you are Robo boy..."
Humming softly Reikiko could sense the building up energy of the android, and wagging her tail excitedly like a little puppy the bio-android started walking into the direction of the feeling. Whatever Vipoi was doing, or for what reasons was a trivial detail she didn't care for. All that mattered was for her to finish a suitable prey to devour, and hopefully obtain the power she desired. Nevertheless, it would be almost certain that some strong foes would show up to oppose Vipoi, and if helping the android meant she would be able to obtain her snack... Then it was an aid she'd gladly provide.
"Let's see..."
Slowly hovering off the ground the bio-android ascended toward the sky, landing on a nearby rooftop of one of the larger buildings of the city, and was able to be given a better view of the android's charging up attack. Silently the bio-android crossed her arms beneath her chest, her gaze firmly onto the android while she hummed softly.
"I wonder who will show up... Hopefully you got yourself some allies Robo Boy."
Of course she didn't knew anything about Vipoi's organization, or its members. Nevertheless, despite her desire to deny it... she was a bit excited to see the results of the android's scheme. What would all this insanity lead toward? Would Vipoi succeed in overthrowing the government? Would a powerful foe emerge for her to battle?
"You think one of those people will show up Onee-sama?"
Hearing Keiko's voice the bio-android couldn't help but think back about that encounter where she had seen the Saiyans and the Namekian fight and defeat a fellow bio-android. To think that back then she had been ridiculous enough to try to save someone... She didn't even receive any words of gratitude! Honestly, to say she was upset at that time was a bit of an understatement, but perhaps now was a good time to make things up for it. She was confident that if those people showed up to save a city, then they most certainly would do it when the whole capitol was in danger.
If she recalled right their energy levels were even something to brag about, so perhaps she could isolate one of them and feast onto their essence? Still, in the back of her head there was one thought that still haunted her. Hopefully Scargot would remain at the timeless lookout... She didn't want to see him get into danger, especially if she was going to be one of those elements that made things dangerous. However, perhaps as the god of this world it would be unpreventable for him to try to interfere in such a dramatic event like this one?
"Stay away Uncle... For your sake, and mine..."
Taking a deep breath Reikiko allowed her ki to remain in its suppressed state, silently awaiting the time for her to start her own plans. She had her own ambitions to complete, and perhaps today was the day they could become a reality.
