Night had fallen on South City, the streets were mostly empty. Things were pretty quiet, things couldn't be anymore perfect...save for the shouting that came from the nearby casino.
"COME ON, SHOW ME THE ZENNI!"
Bright lights shone from the large building, people coming in with a smug look on their face, and coming out with a look of pure rage. The white haired wonder himself was here too, standing right in front of a slot machine as he gripped it tightly. The machine would slow to a curl, "Bao...Bao! Cherry!" Collan put his hands on his face and gave a frustrated sigh. He would reluctantly put some more money in and start the machine back up. To be perfectly honest, he hated this, but he also enjoyed it. Just thought of going from rags to riches kept him going, but he was also spending away all this money he did have.
Thankfully he made sure Jormungandr or Rinsuji didn't know he was here, or they'd probably have pulled him out by now. "Welp...here is to hoping I can get something out of this."
The South Capitol was bustling with people at this time of night, which was strange all things considered. At this time of night, most people were in their homes, usually asleep to prepare for the next mornings work. But this sector of the city was unusually alive compared to the others. Today, Seth would find out why. As Seth landed in the bustling area, he saw the bright lights of the building lure others around him inside. He had only ever seen the lights whilst he flied above it all, but being at ground level with them was very different than he expected. One building, though, caught his attention above all else. Waves of people went in to and out of a large building he stood before. Most would go in with large smiles or drunken walks, but all would leave in a worse state than they had entered in, whether they simply were crying, or came out on a stretcher due to alcohol poisoning. All would also leave without something that they held near and dear. Their money. As Seth entered the building, he was immediately bombarded by all manner of sights, sounds, and senses. The lights on the machines flickered, while electronic noises flew from them into ears of the people, making them even more excited. It was definitely a very different experience to what he was used to. Whilst he walked through the building, he couldn't help but feel energy coming out of someone in the building. As it stood now, there were simply too many people to pinpoint the exact person it came from, but as he walked, it became more and/or less apparent. Eventually he found the person. Soilderp sat down beside the person and loaded a little bit of Zeni into the machine he was in front of. Is this seat taken? Lets get this show on the road At Max PL with weights (2398 PL)
Watching the machine with close intent, Collan only groaned seeing that his attempt failed again. He didn't have enough anger left to throw out, and would look down. "Welp, someone's going broke today." Though after this little statement he said to himself, the white haired man's head snapped back up, turning to a voice beside him. There, a young boy who seemed to have some sort of Demon origins was there, Collan taking a moment to realize what the person said. "Oh no, it's fine, I'm not here with anyone. Please, do sit down, talking to someone may be what I need right now." He'd pat on the cushioned stool beside him, hoping that he would take the seat.
Whether or not he did so, Collan would simply ask, "So, you looking to make some riches? Because if so, I can tell you now I haven't had that much luck." As he said so, a loud bang could be heard in the distance, Collan looking past the slot machine in front of him to see a completely enraged man being dragged out after hitting another slot machine so hard it made a dent in the thing. "And if it isn't obvious, most others haven't had the same as well." The white haired man took a few Zenni out his pocket and started the machine in front of him once more. "Honestly if you ask me, it's all rigged, they just want you to waste money by saying you might have a chance at getting even more money."
The machine stopped once again, another failure on Collan's list. "At some point, you're just going to go broke thanks to the place."
Never had Seth heard truer words. It would explain why people shifted in and out of the building so quickly, and why the tensions felt high surrounding them. He put another coin into the machine. "Hey it could be worse, we could have absolutely no chance of winning!" The slot machine in front of him let out a small chime, and two coins fell out of it. "See?" Another coin went in. The atmosphere of this place was strange. It was a mixture of visceral anger, but also a tinge of hope and even happiness to an extent. He had never felt anything similar to this before, making it all the more exciting. Another coin went in. Eventually he turned to his newly made acquaintance. "Oh, where are my manners? My name's Seth. I also go by Soilderp, you can use either honestly. Pleased to meet you!" Seth gave a small nod and smile while he offered out his hand, waiting for a shake back.
